=========================================
In all honesty, you would've been screaming and jumping up to avoid whatever is down there the best you can - but you were in such a shock, you could only stare at them with your jaw practically on the floor. Quietly staring at the man, you managed to get a closer look at his appearance.
He wore a black and gold attire; long sleeves with poofy shoulder blades, with the baseline being black with gold linings holding a very unique design. He had poofy shorts up until his upper thighs, and the rest were black leggings with black shoes. He wore a beret that covered his hair as his blue eyes narrowed on your shocked state.
"What? Is there something on my face?" The man narrowed his eyes, "I'm afraid I can't get rid of it. I've been trapped for centuries."
"Wh..." You could only muster brief words in your mouth. You had absolutely no idea what is happening.
"What's wrong with her? Margaret, is she unstable in the head as well?" The man scoffed at the woman next to him. Your eyes drifted to the woman, who appeared to be wearing an old long-sleeved white turtleneck with baggy sleeves that was accompanied by a long maroon skirt. Her brunette hair was bundled to a neat bun as her green eyes sneered at the man.
"Oh hush you simpleton." She sneered, "You are such an inconsiderate man."
The man rolled his eyes and looked up at you, "So? When are you gonna release us from this....hellhole?"
"Who....." You raised an eyebrow,
"Ugh....well, it has been centuries..." The man groaned, "I am Chase II, an aristocrat from England."
"....I'm sorry?" You scrunched your face when he answered, "....You're.....an aristocrat?"
"Indeed." He answered with a scowl, "How rude of you to look at me like that."
"You are truly a simpleton." Margaret shook her head, "She doesn't remember."
"What do you mean she doesn't remember? Preposterous!" Charles looked rather offended, "How can she forget me, an aristocrat?"
"Oh my gods, is that damned Charles acting up again?" A male voice from below groaned, "For what reason this time?"
"The Vessel is here but she has lost her memories," Margaret responded,
"Oh! She is?!" The same male voice grew to have hope, "Is she here to let us go?"
"The Vessel is here to save us from Dartz?" Another female voice came on, "Thank Gods...I have been stuck in here since before the Trojan War.."
"She's here!" Another voice chirped and before you knew it, you were greeted with various voices talking at once. You stared down to realize different types of people from different times were all looking up at you and screaming at you. It wasn't long before you realized that there were thousands - if not millions of souls.
Souls that Dartz had saved for the Leviathan.
Covering your mouth, you stared in horror at the souls who were practically crying out for help,
"Did...Dartz...keep you here?" You asked for clarification,
"You think this is some afterlife or something?" Charles raised an eyebrow, "Of course that blasted, egotistical king held us against our will. Peh...as though we wanted to be here in the first place."
"I have been stuck here since 1805..." Margaret pleaded, "....I don't remember the last time I was able to see the sun-"
"You think you've had it rough?" Charles hissed at Margaret, "..I haven't seen anything since 1500!"
"Oh and you've had it rough, Charles." The same voice who groaned at Charles earlier hissed, "I haven't seen my mistress since 1431!"
And before you knew it, everyone was screaming the last year they were able to be apart of this world. It became a competition to tell you who has been trapped the longest. You stared down in pure shock and horror, how is it that the Orichaclos let Dartz do all this? Is this even what was supposed to be done? Dartz has told you that you have never used the power of the Orichalcos to the fullest, could this be apart of it?
"Isn't....isn't this what is supposed to be done?" You asked weakly to get absolute silence in return. You were met with eyes staring at you,
"You mean to tell me I am stuck with this wretched whore for the rest of eternity?" Charles hissed with a glare on Margaret.
"No....no it isn't!" A voice deep in the pit screamed, "I was there...I was there when you were robbed!"
Perking up at that response, your eyes darted to try and find the source,
"Who.....Who said that?"
"I did...I..I was a mere peasant, but I witnessed it all before and after the robbery!" The voice continued, "...please trust me. Dartz isn't doing this right!"
"And who is it that's talking who allegedly saw this whole "robbery" per say?" Charles raised an eyebrow,
"I.....am no one but a mere Egyptian peasant who worked for my Pharaoh." The peasant replied,
"...And what is your name?" You asked,
"My name is Amon." Amon introduced himself,
"And what robbery per se are you speaking of Abom?" Charles responded,
"...do you not know how to pronounce?" A man groaned,
"It was so long ago yet I remember it so vividly.....my Queen, you were forced to remain in the palace walls as per the Pharaoh's command. I was supposed to give you water....but...Dartz...Dartz poisoned the water."
"...He told me-" You gasped, "....Wait....he poisoned the water you tried giving-"
"To you, yes." You could hear the guilt in his voice, "...To this day I regret doing so....and Dartz snatched almost all the power. But I stopped him and ran to tell the Pharaoh once I saw the empty poison bottle in my chambers. Dartz escaped and began snatching souls....he's a selfish man, nothing like you. You treated the power of the Orichalcos far better than he has ever done."
"...Okay...first of all. There's no way I could live for five thousand years." You shook your head. You took notice of how Dartz talked, and now Amon. Why are they talking as though you were the original priestess of the Orichcalcos?
"You awoke seeking revenge, my Queen." Amon continued, "...you...despite your lack of strength and power, you still purged forward and swore under the Leviathan's name you would get it back and punish Dartz thoroughly and properly. However the loss of so much power got to you, and you used your remaining strength to reach out to the remaining power you had to protect the Domain of Monsters by creating the three dragons."
That, in no way shape, or form sounds anything like you.
"But...the Pharaoh sealed both himself and Zorc in the Millenium Puzzle...and you fell into a depression no one could get you out of, not even your own daughter. The Leviathan granted you one chance, to pull you and your daughter into a long-awaited slumber until it's time to awaken and face Dartz when the time is right."
"How do you even know all this?" Charles asked, "For someone who got sealed in you seem to know a lot-"
"Because when she fell to a slumber...Dartz returned." You could hear his voice tremble, "..and...and I tried to stop him...but he decided my soul is the first to be kept. One of the members of the council caught him and he fled."
You stared down at the black pit where the voice came from. If this truly is you, if you were the original priestess back in Ancient Egypt.....you were gonna legit throw up right on the spot. How is it you forgot all this? Shouldn't what Amon is telling you be the first thing to remember?
You never even realized, but the only thing you remember past all this - before Pegasus' Tournament....is in fact waking up in your bed....or some bed. You weren't even sure if your room in Card's Chalice was even your room at this point.
Realizing this quickened your heartbeat - you believed a lot of things because of the Orichalcos and the Great Leviathan. But this? There are limits to your beliefs. You shook your head,
"...you mean....to tell me...my grandfather, Nathaniel...isn't my grandfather?" Everything that you've experienced now felt like a lie.
"Oh come now, Vessel." Charles rolled his eyes, "You have a duty, you must finish it as Abominal said-"
"Amon." A female down hollered, "His name is Amon filthy Charles!"
"But, she can take care of us, right?" A voice whimpered, "...Vessel...once you take care of Dartz...what happens to us?"
You honestly had no idea how to answer that because you were still trying to register what Amon said. You were greeted with silence from millions of souls as they all waited for your reply. It was as though about ninety-nine percent of souls stuck here have been longer than an average human lifetime.
I don't know..... is something you wanted to say, but this is relating to the Leviathan. You had the biggest hunch you knew what was going to happen to any soul relating to the Orichalcos and the Great Leviathan.
"....If.." You gulped, feeling the pressure from millions of souls that you could only see a mere few, "....If you have lived past your time, then I'm afraid you'll be fed to the Leviathan if I let you go.."
The silence filling the room was deafening and the intensity was latched onto your throat so hard you thought you were gonna throw up. You could not move at all after you said that, even as you stared down on the souls you could see, you could see the horror in their eyes that latched onto yours.
But, it's the only truth you knew. You felt you have been with the Seal of Orichalcos for...as long as you could remember. You know what it wants and how it's done. It's a truth that silenced millions within seconds.
After you said that, you felt intense pain in your back. At first, you thought it correlated to your anxiety of the possible outbursts from all these people, but the pain soon latched onto your eye. The pain escalated rather quickly and before you knew it, everything around you went completely black. You were no longer in that room anymore and felt the chains pull you apart once more. Right as the chains latched, you felt absolute pain surge through your whole body, your eye in so much pain you thought it was going to explode. Not even a scream could cover the pain or even try to release the pain from you - you were paralyzed as you felt your back burn. Your vision was hazy as you could only see a beam of neon green shine from you and heard a loud and painful roar in the distance. Feeling connected to the source of the painful roar, your ears began to ring and you felt as though your body was being torn up and forced to do someone's bidding - like some puppet. The chains forcibly stuck you in place as you felt as though your back was being ripped apart and your skeleton was dancing around under someone else's control.
Then, it all went silent and the pain left as quickly as it came. You felt your whole body go limp as your vision was incredibly hazy before falling black.
You lost track of time and slowly stirred awake feeling hazy, tired, and used. Your breaths were big and long as you stared at the familiar ground below you. You weren't back in that room with those souls, or back in that black void with the worst pain ever possible. You were back in the same room you were held captive - the feeling of the chains tightened on your body and held you up in the air. You had to be honest, you have absolutely no idea what to do at this point.
Are you really going to be used? Was that pain you experienced what Dartz tried to do? You weren't sure, but you knew one thing.
Dartz needed to be stopped. This isn't healthy for both you and the Leviathan. You knew for one thing the Leviathan doesn't like being controlled like that.
But why is it letting him do as it pleases?
You stared at the door ahead of you and felt your heart pound. It was a feeling you felt you've experienced before as you felt your eyes seeth at the door before you. If only these goddamn chains could leave you.
The determination to get out and stop Dartz kept growing and growing. After experiencing that pain, and after hearing Dartz and the souls trapped under him. You had to force aside the thought of you being alive in Ancient Egypt and think of only one thing and one thing only.
You really gotta get back what was assigned to you.
And if the timing wasn't more perfect enough, the door was swung open. This, of course, startled you. You gasped and stared at the door to find a tall man stare at you in horror. You do not know this man. He had blonde pointy hair and wore a large lavender coat with fingerless gloves. His left arm had what appeared to be a duel disk and he quickly walked over to you.
"(y/n)." His voice immediately caught your interest - he sounded very familiar. When it clicked, you glared at this man as he hesitated before reaching out to one of your chains. You confirmed who he was when you felt his strong hands.
"...You...you were the one who-" You were out of breath as your heart began to race,
"I know, I am the one who kidnapped you. And for that, I apologize. Dartz manipulated me." The man apologized as he whipped out a key, "I know by saying sorry won't cut it, this is my amends."
You stared at the chains before you felt your arm feel free.
"Dartz tricked me. He has been since I was alone when I was young." The man clenched his fists, "...I thought he is doing this to save this world and me...but I was wrong. The Pharaoh showed me that answer."
The pharaoh-
Your eyes widened as he went to your legs to unlock the chains there, "The Pharaoh is fighting Dartz with everyone else, and I fear he will lose. Please, save him. I don't think any of us want Dartz to take the Pharaoh's soul."
"S....Sir-" Not knowing his name (you forgot his name, as you could've sworn Dartz told you), your voice trembled as he told you what was going on.
"Rafael." He introduced himself, "My name is Rafael, (y/n)."
"D...Do you know whether or not the duel finished?" You asked as your legs were free. Feeling your feet fall on real ground, Rafael quickly went to your other arm to unlock the chains,
"The last I checked before I ran here, the duel is still going on. Dartz is going against both the Pharaoh and Seto Kaiba, but Kaiba lost." Rafael explained as he yanked the chains off you. You could already feel the anxiety build up in you once more,
"T....Take me there." Your voice trembled as Rafael took off his duel disk and put it on your arm, along with a deck.
"Mai took your deck when she broke in your room earlier. Here. Take these. You know what to do. Now come." He took your hand and ran out of the room. You could feel potential bruising on your ankles and wrists from the chains as you could feel the blood circulation slowly going back - your wrists and arms feeling prickly as you rushed over to the duel arena. Rafael took you through familiar hallways and stairs that you could've sworn you've seen before. The way there was long enough for your legs and arms to have normal blood circulation before there was a giant door up ahead.
"He's in there. It's now or-"
You didn't even give Rafael the time to finish his sentence as you threw your hands on the door and pushed it open. You opened the door to see the giant Seal of Orichalcos laying between three people - with one on the ground. Unable to process your surroundings, you watched as the Seal slowly began to shrink on the duelist next to the one on the ground.
Unfortunately, it was not Dartz it was heading to.
It was heading to Yami, the only duelist alive in this room if you and Rafael didn't run in. Dartz's eyes shift and widen when he sees you as you stared at the Seal. Without thinking straight, you focused on the Seal and felt your back fizzle and burn.
"REPEAL." You commanded as the Seal immediately repelled from Yami and expanded once more. You took a deep breath to relax and straightened up as Yami quickly turned over in your direction,
"...(y/n)!" You watched his dull eyes lighten when he saw you, and you could've sworn you saw tears going down his cheeks.
Seeing this made your blood boil as you started walking to the duel arena,
"...Dartz, you've played your last straw." You tried straightening your voice out, "You have broken and separated me from the Orichalcos that protects the Great Leviathan and abused it to your own desires and selfish deeds, disguising it as your vision of fulfilling a dreamy fantasy." You raised the arm with the duel disk and activated the disk with full life points, "Controlling the Leviathan as one pleases isn't what makes them a proper vessel, nor exploiting its full power unconditionally." Feeling a long-term rage, you effortlessly walked through the barrier the Seal was supposed to bring to prevent people from entering. You whipped your deck and slid it into the card carrier in the disk, now inserting yourself into the duel. "For that, you must face punishment."
"You know, I rather must say....I am disappointed." Dartz shook his head, "I thought all my servants were loyal. I knew something was up when I could no longer sense you in that domain." His eyes shifted to Rafael, who glared at Dartz, "Are you that upset I lied to you, Rafael?"
"You destroyed me, Dartz. Consider this as my thanks." Rafael hissed back,
"And what makes you think you can beat me, (y/n)?" Dartz hummed with an eyebrow raised, "The Pharaoh doesn't even have enough life points to help you. Yet I have all I need to wipe the both of you out, look at the monster I have created, (y/n). This is what the Orichalcos gave to me, it's what I deserve." Dartz smirked upon the giant robot that stood before you - it almost looked like it had come from Atlantis itself as the Seal of the Orichalcos was marked on each part of its body.
"No. You're wrong." Yami shook his head as he wiped his face, "I have one card that will help (y/n), one I feel she needs to have more than me." Yami turned and whipped out a card from the top of his deck. Face-down so Dartz doesn't see it, he hands it to you.
"For you, my love." He whispered, as when you took the card from him you felt a lingering touch from his fingers onto yours before restarting his turn. Feeling something from these cards, you flipped the card and stared at the card. The card was a light blue card that had three swords standing before three separate dragons; red, black, and teal. You stared at this card before placing it on the field - feeling as though this card was waiting for your summon.
It really felt like you've had this card before. And it's trippy as hell for you because that supports Amon's statement earlier. Which makes things a lot trippier for you.
But you have no time at the moment to think about that. You placed the card on the deck,
"I activate Legends of Hearts and awaken my soldiers Critias, Hermocrates, and Timaeus!" You called out and watched Dartz go pale when three blue lightning bolts appear in front of you. Silhouettes of dragons sprung from the ground before sharpening to three knights that represented each dragon with each having 2800 attack points.
"I activate Poison of the Old man," Yami pulled out the spell card, "This card allows me two choices, either give 1200 life points or destroy 500 life points of my opponent. I choose to give 1200 life points to (y/n)." He explained as your life points amped from 4000 to 5200. "If anyone is going to finish you off, it's going to be her."
"ATTACK THOSE DAMN KNIGHTS!" Appearing to freak out, Dartz screamed at his monster to attack one of the knights, "I DON'T CARE WHICH GOES FIRST, JUST GET RID OF THEM!"
The robot before you spat out a green ring that aimed for the knight in black, who immediately sliced the ring in half instantly, which reflected back on Dartz life points and destroyed the robot. You watched Dartz life points go to zero,
"Now give me what's mine. You lost." You put your arm down as the life points dissipated.
"No....no no no.." He shook his head and glared at the three knights who still remained despite the duel being over. "No, it isn't. I'm not giving ANYTHING to you. ANYTHING. IT'S ALL MINE." He snapped his fingers and a giant black rip appeared behind him. Before he vanished, you bolted forward and yanked out both his necklace and his crown as he tumbled in the black ripple and vanished. Both stones dissipating in your hand, you stared at the black tear as it crumbled away once Dartz went in. Silence filled the room for a bit before you exhaled and turned to look at Yami. You wanted to tell him you felt this wasn't over yet but was greeted with him running and wrapping his arms around you - swirling you around with a laugh,
"You did it, you actually did it..." He huffed, "You finished off Dartz!"
"Well...not...not exactly.." Feeling his tight squeeze with a smile, you returned the tight embrace, "I still feel there's more to this-"
"All the more to take in what you have done." Yami's grip on you slightly loosened as he placed you back on the ground and buried his face in the crook of your neck to take in your scent. There was a moment of silence between you and Yami, as though nothing had happened thus far and it was how you and Yami were before you were kidnapped. As you welcomed his warmth, you soon realized what you were going to tell him before you were kidnapped. You forgot so much because of all the new information that had seized your mind since you were thrown into this ancient abode, but with Yami, you seemed to feel at peace.
"Yami...Yami I-"
"I'm sorry, (y/n)." Yami mumbled with his grip on you tightening, "...I should've stayed with you back then. If I did, then you wouldn't have been here."
"What?" You blinked, "No, no don't blame yourself for this."
The urge to tell Yami of Dartz's praising on Tea was so high, you forced yourself to keep silent about it. You knew if you told Yami that Dartz thanked Tea, you weren't even sure of how things will turn out - especially since Tea's body is literally right there-
Oh wait, oH SHIT! You forgot to deal with the souls. You let go of Yami's hold and stared at the bodies,
"....Did Dartz get them too?" You asked. Because you don't have the entire Seal on you, you aren't up to date on who is sealed within the Orichalcos - which is really sad and upsetting for you because it further adds on how Dartz called you a weak and ignorant vessel.
"Yes, he did."
"I...think I can do something about that." You may have little in comparison to Dartz, but you should be able to save everyone who was affected - even Yami. You weren't sure if you can do it, but looking at how Dartz left his alter to the Leviathan, you may be able to do something. Not to mention you saw some pieces of the stone lying around, so you could do something. Yami's eyes lit up once you said that and lifted his head from your neck,
"Are you serious?" He asked,
"I...I mean I can try....Dartz kinda left everything he used over here. I can try and use that to at least return the souls."
"All of them?" Yami asked,
"Yeah," You nodded with your mind returning to the soul room you were placed earlier. You shivered at the last you saw them, the horror in their eyes as you told them what could happen.
"What will happen to them?" Yami asked, a little concerned now for Yugi's soul.
"No no, Yugi will be fine," You shook your head, "Anyone who was taken while their body is still alive will return back," You nodded as an assurance to Yami, "...It's just....Dartz took so many for such a long time. The ones whose bodies have passed long ago will be fed to the Leviathan if I release them from Dartz...and they...uh...didn't take that well."
"You saw them?" Yami widened his eyes,
"Yeah..." You nodded, "Kinda...I mean, there were so many I couldn't see them all."
"It is correct, my queen." One of the knights spoke, which startled you,
"You're still here?" You gasped,
"Yes, our duty has yet to be completed." Timaeus nodded, "But, it is true. Those who have long passed will be food for the Leviathan. Those who still remain alive will be returned, as Dartz destroyed the balance of the Leviathan."
"What does that even mean," You scrunched your face as you walked to the alter, "I thought the Leviathan would love this sort of thing."
"It would, if it had the freedom to do so." Critias responded, "Dartz has abused the Leviathan and corrupted its soul. You, the vessel, never done such a thing and that made its power grow, along with its hunger. You took care of that by feeding it with souls who seeped with corruption, and that would fill its hunger and satisfaction. Dartz, does not do that. He doesn't even feed the Leviathan at all, he simply seals them thinking that will do without fully checking."
"He lacks humanity, something you have." Hermocrates summarized, "Should Dartz remain to have the Leviathan and abuse it as he pleases, the world will be destroyed - as so will Dartz if he keeps it up."
"Dartz?" Yami perked up,
"The lack of humanity and corruption will attract the Leviathan to him, and will be eaten. That leaves no vessel as you would've been taken care of by Dartz. That destroys the balance you made five thousand years ago." Hermocrates answered,
"You must release the souls. That will help you by feeding the Leviathan and giving you an advantage. Use the alter." Critias narrowed his eyes as you stared at the stones. Taking the stones and watching them fizzle in your hands, you took a deep sigh and stared at the items before you.
You have n o idea how to do this.
"(y/n). Before you do that, there's something I want to do." Yami walked up the stairs to the altar as he took off his jacket. When you turned around, he greeted you with a kiss on the lips as he wrapped his coat around you. After pulling away, he gave you a smirk,
"I don't want the others having the privilege on seeing you as you are. I should be the only one seeing this." He never broke eye contact as he clipped the top button of his coat. You stared at him in confusion before realizing he referred to your chest - as you literally had nothing on except your bra, as Dartz ripped it off to see the Seal on your back. Your face turned red as he pinched your cheek, "Be sure to put the sleeves on as well. You're also freezing cold." He advised as he walked back downstairs. You watched him with your arms going through the sleeves of the coat before turning around to face the altar before you. You have no idea how to do this properly, but you wouldn't know unless you tried. You stared before the alter, as there appeared to be the Seal of Orichalcos marked in dried blood in the center of the table - next to it an empty gauntlet, a flaying knife, and ashes. You placed the hand you used to absorb the stones ontop of the marking and stared at it, maybe this will help?
"....Do you by any chance know how to do it?" You looked at the knights who stood behind you.
"Focus on all the souls before you. They are a lot closer than you think. Then, you must take out your blood and pour it in the gauntlet to pour it over the markings. You will be able to activate the Orichaclos power, which will be easier for you as you're the Vessel. Once it's activated, you must tell the Orichalcos to grant you access to remove Dartz's wrongdoings and release the souls he had trapped for five thousand years." Timaeus explained. You stared at Timaeus and focused on his words before turning back at the altar before you. You took a deep breath and began the ritual by closing your eyes and imagining yourself back at where all the souls are. While doing so, you reached out and grabbed the flaying knife and sliced your hand - squeezing the cut so the blood could fall on top of the marking. After you did that, you saw the familiar neon green light emerge from the markings and your surroundings soon turned black. You opened your eyes and made eyecontact with two slits that stared you down,
"Vessel." The familiar disoriented voice spoke,
"...Dartz has done so many wrongdoings to you and to everyone affected." You narrowed your eyes, "...and I am not sure if I can...but if I can, please release all the souls that he has kept for five thousand years."
"You doubt yourself." It spoke, "Yet your determination extends more than your doubts. Yet you question me why I chose you. Pathetic." The slits narrowed, "Of course you can. Never ask me permission. Just do it."
The slits close and you were greeted with a giant green knot. The knot reeked with corruption, and because of it, the color was a lot darker than the familiar green light you were familiar with. Slowly approaching it, you gently touched the knot and felt a sharp pain in your arms. Flinching, you grabbed the knot and tried your best to unknot it - which took a little bit because of the pain that emerged out of it. The closer you were to unknotting, the more you heard a growl from behind you. A giant snap came from the knot once you untied it and a bright light seized you before you realized you returned back to the alter. Blinking, you turned around to see everyone slowly getting up. You made eye contact with Yami, who was no longer Yami. Relief swept through you when you finally made eye contact with Yugi,
"...you actually did it." Yugi had a huge smile on his face, "...good job."
As much as you wanted to run down there and give him a big hug, Timaeus held your shoulder.
"...It's time." He said as a familiar growl was heard from above.
==========================================
A/N (sorry there have been some A/N's); I debated on continuing with Dartz summoning Cornelius, but it REALLY didn't make sense to me cause like, how can there be a monster with infinity life points? And how tf did Yami actually take care of that? I decided to end it with the robot and just continued it from there.
