=========================================

"Why would I be in Egypt of all places?" You sneered,

"Why not~?" Yami Bakura shrugged his shoulders, "There's so much to explore in Egypt, both present and ancient times."

"What are you implying?" You asked, "What, you want me to take you to Egypt or something?"

"I knew you would be smarter than everyone else in this world!" Yami Bakura's eyes lit up, "I want you to take me someplace...specific...in Egypt. Someplace I feel would fill the gap you've been feeling for quite some time." He smirked and watched you tense up. How did he know that you felt this strange feeling?

"How...-"

"I'm just like you, (y/n). Just like you, the Pharaoh, and even little Nymphi over here." His eyes swayed to the terrified girl on his lap, "We all do not belong here, we belong somewhere else....somewhere...more fitting for what we seek."

"Wh...What are you-"

"How about this," Yami Bakura smirked, "Let's make a deal."

"A deal?" You raised an eyebrow, "You have my little sister as a hostage. Don't you think this is blackmail?"

"You mean to tell me you still haven't realized?" Yami Bakura's eyes widened in shock, "I thought with her loud mouth it'd be obvious..."

"Wh...What do you mean?"

"It wasn't the drinks, (y/n).." Yami Bakura's eyes still remained wide yet his smirk grew, "The very little girl that I hold before you is your daughter, Queen (y/n) of Egypt."

Nausea crept upon you as you were frozen in place, you had a hunch from Nymphi calling Yami 'daddy'.....it was at that moment you finally realized how much you've actually learned throughout this whole experience. From what you've learned from Dartz till now, it's all smacking you in the face.

You were the Vessel of the Orichalcos five thousand years ago. You lived five thousand years ago.

You were the Queen of Egypt five thousand years ago...

Amon, one of the souls Dartz captured, mentioned you have a daughter.

Your hand covered your mouth to prevent throwing up literally anything in your body with your eyes wide. It seemed Yami Bakura understood the assignment, as he stared at you with a smirk,

"Now do you realize, (y/n)?" His head tilted, "Neither you nor Nymphi belongs here in this world, just like the Pharaoh and I. Now that you've discovered that, let me ask you this..." Yami Bakura hummed, "....don't you think it's time to head home?"

"We....we aren't even supposed to be alive..." Your voice trembled, "How...how is going to Egypt going to-"

"I'll fill you in if you take us to Egypt." Yami Bakura hummed, "That is my deal. You help me and I tell you what you need to know. No blackmail, I'll give you your daughter when we're on the way there."

You stared at him, "...you talk as though I can ditch this whole tournament and-"

"You can." Yami Bakura rolled his eyes, "Just contact Nathaniel and ask for tickets there."

"...in the middle of a-"

"Unless you don't care what I'm gonna do with your precious daughter....I don't mind. I have an alternative way to go to where I want...I just wanted to choose the luxurious way." He shrugged his shoulders,

Just as you were going to give him a snarky reply, a knock was heard from the other side of the door.

"Ms. (y/n), are you alright?" You heard a security guard speak from the door. You froze in place with cold sweat going down your back as Yami Bakura smirked while leaning back. His head nodded as though a gesture to start things up for the travels to Egypt.

"Ms. (y/n)?"

"Yeah...uh..." You gulped, "...there's....been a change of plans..."

The guilt and defeat burned inside you as you watched Yami Bakura's grin frow wide; like he had won.

"What are you talking about?"

"Is....there.." You gulped again to swallow the defeat, "...any way you can get plane tickets for Egypt?"

"....plane tickets to Egypt?" You could hear the confusion in the security's voice,

"Yeah...three tickets.." You nodded, "...To Egypt...right now..."

"...I'll...look into it....may I ask why? Nathaniel will ask the same thing."

"...Tell him...it's...kinda important. Like...a feeling."

"Right as the tournament is going to start? We can wait until aft-"

"No.." You shook your head, "...Now..like...right now."

"...Alright, I will look into it."

"Well aren't you a smart girl~" Yami Bakura cooed, "The Pharaoh chose well on his wife~"

"What is in Egypt that's so important to you?" You hissed,

"I will tell you when we're on the way, what, you thought I would tell you everything now?" Yami Bakura rolled his eyes, "That would ruin the fun~!"

"Fun for what?!" You narrowed your eyes,

"Come now, it may be a long flight. You just want to sit there and stare at me~? You're married (y/n)!" Yami Bakura smirked, "Besides, there are lots to discuss on what's to come in the near future." His fingers tapped Nymphi's neck as he smirked at you. You clenched your fists and glared at him,

"...Can you at least let go of her?" You mumbled as Yami Bakura shrugged,

"Very well.." His hand was finally released, "I trust you."

"...you do?" You raised an eyebrow,

"Of course, unlike the Pharaoh, you are smart enough to understand the best decisions. Besides, thieves are creative and fast...so make sure to think twice before trying to turn back." He hummed, "Besides, once I tell you why we're going to Egypt, I'm sure you'll realize this is something you needed to do nonetheless."

"M...Mommy...I'm scared." Nymphi was full of tears that broke your heart,

"D...Don't worry Nymphi," You assured and stared at Yami Bakura, "Can she at least-"

"Until I sit on a plane, she won't be with you. Trust is built, not given." Yami Bakura shook his head as another knock came from the door,

"Ms. (y/n)? We are setting up a private jet under Nathaniel's orders."

"He approved?" You stared at the door,

"Yes, under the condition that he is to know exactly why."

"I.....need to take someone there....for something important we have to do." You improvised.

"Smart girl...you sprung from a smart mother.." Yami Bakura leaned forward and whispered to Nymphi,

"...Alright. I will let him know. The jet will be ready in a few minutes. I shall escort you to the spot."

"Alright.." You locked eyes with Yami Bakura, who picked up Nymphi in his arms. Nymphi was trembling under his touch and stared at you with intense anxiety - as though she'll break down and cry right on the spot.

"Shall we?" He asked,

"...In one condition. You let me carry her." You sneered,

"And why would I?" Yami Bakura tilted his head,

"because if you don't, she'll cry." You cocked an eyebrow, "And people will be suspicious. I don't think you'd want more attention than needed."

Yami Bakura's eyes narrowed,

"And imagine if Yami finds out you're here. I'm not sure he'd like you holding his daughter...not to mention using her as a hostage." You sneered,

"You're quite observant, aren't you." He rolled his eyes and put Nymphi down, "Fine. Make sure she doesn't cry."

"As long as you're ten feet away." you hissed as you knelt down to give the terrified child a tight hug. Lifting her into your arms, you opened the door to see the same security that you had been talking to. He locked eyes with Yami Bakura and raised an eyebrow,

"Who is that? He isn't supposed to be here." The security asked,

"He's a friend. I invited him here, I probably forgot to tell you." You lied as the security nodded,

"....Very well...don't make that mistake again. Right this way."

With that, you, Nymphi, and Yami Bakura quietly followed the security guard over to the helicopter dispatch center. There was in fact, a private jet available by the time you guys made it, and the entrance opened.

"Mommy?" Nymphi whispered with fear across her eyes, "where is daddy?"

You gulped, still trying to digest the fact this little girl isn't your little sister and accept the title of 'Mommy', "...he won't be joining us. We're stuck with the scary man until he's done."

"When?"

"We'll see." You whispered while giving her a gentle kiss on the cheek as you were escorted inside the jet. Yami Bakura smiled wide as he looked around the interior of the jet; It was rather cozy with four chairs facing each other - two on one side and two on the other. Further in was a king-sized bed and a mini-refrigerator. Alongside it was a sink, bathroom, microwave, and a cabinet for snacks.

"My my, the rich never cease to amaze me." Yami Bakura hummed as he sat in one of the chairs. "Of course, this is nothing compared to what you're about to experience again."

"What are you even talking about?" You narrowed your eyes as you sat across from him. The pilots got in their seats and the entrance door closed tight.

"Your stop is Egypt, right?" One pilot asked,

"Yeah." You nodded,

"Alright...it'll take about fifteen hours without any turbulence." The man took a huge sigh as he closed the door. You honestly felt bad for the pilots, but what else can you do?

"...sorry for making it so sudden..." You apologized,

"No, you're good." A pilot spoke through the door as the engines began to run. There was a weird, intense silence as the jet took off into the air. It was as though Bakura had waited for the right moment to speak. Once the jet was in the air and set for Egypt, you cleared your throat.

"Alright...well, we're in the jet." You averted to Yami Bakura, "...What's so important about present Egypt. If we're from a different.....historical period.....how are we going to go to the place you're so keen on?"

"This question has such a simple answer." Yami Bakura leaned back and crossed his legs together, "We go to the Pharaoh's Tomb."

There was an awfully long pause between you and Yami Bakura.

"..I'm sorry...you want us to go to his tomb?"

"Yes, crazy, am I right?" Yami Bakura nods,

"....may I ask...how are we gonna go to his tomb?" You asked, "More importantly, why are we going to his tomb?"

Yami Bakura chuckled at this, "How is through Marik. Did you forget Marik, Ishizu, and Odion guard the Pharaoh's tomb?"

"And you mean to tell me we're gonna waltz in at their door and go 'hey so uh where's his tomb'?" You narrowed your eyes and watched him nod,

"I'm sure they'll take in the Pharaoh's wife and daughter. Besides, it's not like they have anything else to do that's important." He scoffed,

"....okaaaayyy..." You narrowed your eyes, "...and why his tomb?"

"Because it'll open to you." Yami Bakura responded. You scrunched your face at him,

"....What?"

"I love your confusion~" Yami Bakura hummed with a grin, "Think of it this way. The tomb is full yet empty at the same time, why do you think that is?"

You raised an eyebrow at this, "....What?"

"Think hard, my smart queen." Yami Bakura rose his finger with a smirk, "How is it a tomb can be full but empty?"

"....Uh....well there's a body in a tomb." You frowned,

"Mhm." Yami Bakura nods, "More of a skeleton with dust beyond this point."

"....so why would it be emp-" You stopped yourself before it clicked. Yami Bakura smirked at this,

"It seems you figured it out."

"...His body is in his tomb...but not his spirit." You realized,

"Ten points for the smart queen! When I see you again I will give you my upmost praise~" Yami Bakura clapped, "Yes, as you well know yourself, the Pharaoh's body is empty, but not his spirit. His spirit resides in the Millenium Puzzle. Do you know why he's stuck in there?" Yami Bakura asked,

You feel you would know this answer if you weren't so sleep deprived. The answer was right in the tip of your tongue, as though someone had told you this before,

"....are you gonna keep having me guess?"

"For a little bit, it's fun~" Yami Bakura nodded, "We have a long way to go, I'm not gonna make this conversation quick you know."

You frowned at him, "Well aren't you a piece of work."

"Looks like the all nighter is catching up then, huh?" Yami Bakura smirked and watched you tense up,

"....speaking of..." You recalled him mentioning the drinks, and now talking about the all nighter... "....have you been-"

"Don't you think you should rest a bit? Don't worry about Nymphi, I won't harm her. In fact, I even have something of hers I would like to try out." His hand went straight to his pockets and pulled out a deck from each pocket. You tensed up and widened your eyes when you realized what he had in his hand, as so did Nymphi's.

"That's her deck.." You mumbled as he slid the deck over to Nymphi,

"As Nymphi rested long before you, I might as well practice a few duels with her. After all, Mokuba struggled with her cheating, so I may as well provide the same."

You glared at Yami Bakura, it may have been a while ago, but you knew how this man plays.

"Oho, snarky as usual. I guess this is what you'd call the 'Mother Bear' feature." Yami Bakura chuckled, "Do not worry, this won't be a Shadow Game. I am a man of my word, my only objective is the Pharaoh."

You sneered at him as he shuffled his deck and calmly pulled out five cards. His brown eyes locked with yours and raised an eyebrow,

"I think it's more fitting if you were in a better condition, so how about you go rest? Unless you want jet lag to kill you when we land." Yami Bakura asked, "Nymphi, I heard you're really good at duel monsters. Care to test it with me? I am quite the duelist."

"Nymphi, don't trust him too much." You warned as you now began to feel dizzy. It was as though this man knew the right moment to advise rest, because now you feel like you're gonna pass out on the spot. Rubbing your temples, you glared at Yami Bakura, who gestured the bed down the hall,

"I won't even touch a strand of her hair. A true thief never strays from his main target." He said as Nymphi reluctantly took her deck.

You found yourself in such a haze, you ended up seeing three Bakuras. Slowly rising from the chair, you hesitantly walked to the bedroom and briefly closed the door - keeping it open just a little bit in case Nymphi screamed or anything. Feeling as though the bed was pulling you to its grasp, you collapsed onto the bed and within moments your vision went totally black.

You found yourself awake in a pile of sand. You stared at the sand before realizing you were no longer wearing the clothes you wore in the jet - but rather the same white dress your reflection briefly had in Mai's bedroom the previous night. You noticed this by seeing thin golden chains wrapped around your wrists. Carefully getting up to avoid the dress from tearing, you looked around to find nothing but darkness.

"...Leviathan?" You called out in hopes to find some sort of familiar face, in which thankfully you heard a familiar growl from behind. Turning around, you made eye contact with the familiar giant snake that you are destined to mange.

"Uh...where am I?"

"Your upcoming duty."

"...What's that supposed to mean...to be exact?" You asked, "Also...uh...Nymphi and I are literally being hostages and you've done nothing so far."

"You talk like you were going to summon in the first place."

"....Touché. But....do you think we're actually going to wherever Bakura's implying?"

"The thief is very clever and not as he seems to be."

"...How?"

"Why not let you find out yourself."

"Dick." You sneered, "I was hoping as thanks for literally saving your ass, you'd help me out-"

"My help will arrive when the time has arrived. In the meantime, keep an eye out of that abnormal thief."

"...is he really going to take me to....that home that..." Your words were pulled to a halt and you couldn't make eye contact anymore,

"He is using you to reach there, but yes."

You perked up and stared at the Leviathan, "...how?"

The Leviathan didn't say anything and moments later, you heard the sand begin to sink in on itself. Before you realized it, a hole opened up from beneath you that trapped you inside the sand. You felt the sand trickle down your throat that buried you deep within. You felt your lungs go on fire as your vision grew hazy from the huge amounts of sand that buried you deep within its pits.

"You will call his name from the sands of memory."

Gasping, you rose from the bed with cold sweat running down your spine. Gods...how long has it been?

"WHAT! That's not fair!!" You heard Nymphi yelp with a giggle.

Not even being able to process waking up nor the dream, you bolted out of the bed and forced open the door. Panting, you watched before you to find Nymphi and Yami Bakura....sitting on the floor with cards on the floor. Both of them averted their eyes to you and Nymphi gasped,

"Mommy! You're up! Tell Bakura he's cheating!" Nymphi got up and bolted over to you with a frown,

"I don't even know what she's talking about, she is the one who told me to do certain tricks. I am simply following them. Also, Nymphi, a fair warning, don't leave your cards out in the open like this. You wouldn't want thieves like me seeing them." Yami Bakura warned. Nymphi halted in her place and bolted back to her spot, chaotically flipping her cards, then ran back to your arms.

"...why....are you guys on the floor?" You panted,

"So I can concentrate more." Nymphi replied, "There's more room on the floor"

"Uh...." Your eyes averted to the mini desk that accompanied the chairs, "...sure....what...have you been doing?"

"We were dueling each other the whole time. Of course, there was a mini-break for about an hour or so, but we went back to dueling once our energy returned." Yami Bakura shrugged his shoulders,

"Did he hurt you? Did he do anything suspicious?" You asked as you knelt to see if there were any visible wounds or even a strand of hair out of place.

"He cheated all the games." Nymphi frowned,

"I only followed your amazing advice." Yami Bakura smirked, "And it's just as I said, not a single hair touched."

You stared at Yami Bakura with a cocked eyebrow, "...for an evil thief, you are quite...."

"I am not a monster, (y/n)." He winked with a smirk, "Well...not the type you think."

"What's that supposed-"

"Anyway." Yami Bakura clasped his hands together as he slid all the cards back into their respective decks, "Nymphi, it's as I said earlier. Once your mother is awake, we go back to adult-talking."

"I still won." Nymphi huffed,

"Stubborn and arrogant like your father." Yami Bakura grumbled as he sat back in his seat, "Well, now your brain is fully functioning, let's go back to the puzzling questions I asked earlier. After all, we have I'd say, a couple of hours left?"

"WHAT?!" You gasped, "H-How long was I asleep-"

"I'd say roughly five hours." Yami Bakura answered,

"FIVE HOURS?!" You stared at him in shock,

"I'm sure it's plenty for you to sober up, now sit. It's time for my game." Yami Bakura gestured you to sit in front of him. Nymphi was muttering but she sat in the other seat near you, she was staring at her cards with such intensity,

"...you distracted her for five hours?"

"Her ways of dueling is rather interesting. It's something I've never really encountered before." Yami Bakura sighed, "Of course, that sort of gameplay only comes when you don't care about the rules."

"...how bad does she cheat?" You narrowed your eyes, a little concerned now for Nymphi's potential dueling future,

"Sneaky, unless you're a geek at the rules or been playing a long time you wouldn't even notice." Yami Bakura smirked, "Just like her father."

"He told me he never cheats." You frowned at him,

"Speaking of your beloved husband..." Yami Bakura hummed, "Let's go back to my questionnaire, shall we?"

You shifted in your seat, "Okay...."

"Now, can you hazard a guess as to why the Pharaoh is stuck in the Millenium Puzzle?" Yami Bakura asked as he popped open an unopened water bottle next to him. You frowned as you stared at your clenched fists, you still have yet to process the fact you're going to Egypt with a thief that Yami literally hates. Now you have to answer the question you've yet to-

"But...the Pharaoh sealed both himself and Zorc in the Millenium Puzzle...and you fell into a depression no one could get you out of, not even your own daughter. The Leviathan granted you one chance, to pull you and your daughter into a long-awaited slumber until it's time to awaken and face Dartz when the time is right."

"....Is it because of Zorc?" You stared at Bakura and froze at his response. Yami Bakura blankly stared at you with a bland smile on his face - as though he wasn't expecting that response but tried his best to hide some type of reaction. So, he's left blankly glaring at you with a bland smile. The aura between you and Yami Bakura shifted immensely, as nothing was heard besides the engines of the jet and Nymphi's muttering to her cards. Without blinking, Yami Bakura's head cocked a little to the side and let out a forced chuckle,

"...Quite the answer, I'm impressed." Yami Bakura nodded, "You're partially correct....no....you hit a huge nail in the answer. Truth is, yes, the Pharaoh sealed himself with Zorc in the Millenium Puzzle, but that's how his spirit got in the puzzle. The main reason why he's stuck is that he's lost his memories as the Pharaoh, and his mindless soul wonders to figure that out and finally get the rest he deserves.." He rolled the bland eyes, "...well..unless he can get past Zorc again..."

You cocked an eyebrow, "...what's-"

"Anyway." Finally blinking, Yami Bakura clapped his hands, "I applaud for such a smart answer, you're really peaking my interests more than you should~."

"But that's just asking about the tomb." You shook your head, "...how do you expect to go inside the tomb? You're just going to see a mummy-"

"Are we?" Yami Bakura's head tilted, "Are we really?"

You felt really stumped with this man, "....What?"

"You forget one major thing. Not to worry, I'm not going to ask you it, I'll just tell you. After all, you've probably yet to register this fact." Yami Bakura smirked, "Everyone in this specific room is not of this era."

"....I've figured that out." You raised an eyebrow,

"So think, we have an open tomb that goes back to a decade where we actually existed. We will not be greeted by some old, crumbled mummy."

"....Then what?" You scrunched your face,

"It's simple," Yami Bakura stretched as he finished the water bottle, "Yet complex."

"....Okay?"

"What makes the Pharaoh's tomb special than the other ones is the Millenium Energy it possesses...and this is because of your clever response with Zorc." Yami Bakura explained, "Because the spirit of the Pharaoh is separate from its tomb, there is the loss of his memories. So tell me, (y/n), with this context, can you figure out what makes this tomb different? Obviously, his memories aren't entirely gone."

You blinked at him, what is that supposed to mean? You stared at him, your mind now toggled with this question. Bakura is right, Yami doesn't have many memories of his past...you recalled him mentioning that in the first times you've encountered him. However, what does this have to do with his tomb? You tapped your fingers in thought, he did talk a lot about this tomb-

"...does his tomb have his memories?" It clicked on you and you stared at Bakura for confirmation once you asked. You watched him smirk and nod his head,

"Indeed." His voice growled with excitement, "Like a home that has all the stuff you've lost, his tomb has all the answers he seeks. As a matter of fact, since you've been so smart, I'll tell you something I wasn't going to tell you." He winked, "The memories the tomb has to relate back to Zorc, just before he sealed himself in. It's the last recent memory the tomb has, and the very one he needs in order to finally rest and move on."

You tensed up at this new information, "....and what makes you think this tomb will accept me?"

Yami Bakura laughed at this, "You're smart at everything but when it comes to yourself. Do you mean to tell me the Pharaoh's tomb will not accept his wife and child into his memory? You, despite the robbery, had importance with the memory you're about to experience once we get there."

"....Bakura..." You started to feel uncomfortable, "...how is it you're so comfortable telling me everything?"

"Oh no, I'd never tell you everything, just the things you need to know. Just in case when we wind up in the Pharaoh's memories, you freak so hard you collapse seconds in."

And with that, Yami Bakura rose from his seat and looked at Nymphi, "Are we ready for another round?"

"YES!" Nymphi slammed her hands on the desk and hopped on the floor.

And with that, Yami Bakura left you shocked for the rest of the plane ride. You were stuck watching Yami Bakura and Nymphi play pretty much the whole time - you were shocked to realize how Nymphi was energetic pretty much the whole way. Of course, there were a few distractions...Nymphi was distracted by some clouds or scenery.

Meanwhile, you couldn't help but worry about what's to come once you land.
