====================================

"Tell me, Pharaoh, what do you think is the worst way to die?" Bakura asked, relaxed against the chair as the huge hourglass ticked above him. The man across the table growled at him,

"Why do you ask?"

"There are many ways to die, Pharaoh.." Bakura hummed as he pinched small sand from the board, "...death is so easy to achieve cause humans are so easily manipulated and gullible. The whole world can kill them without them even realizing it, and sometimes, they forget they may be the cause alone. But tell me, Pharaoh, what is the worst way to die? Would you like me to list the options?"

"What does this have to do with our battle, Bakura?" He sneered,

"Oh, just an icebreaker question before our RPG game begins~." Bakura cooed, "If you honestly ask me, I think it's drowning."

"Drowning?" The Pharaoh's eyebrows furrowed,

"Yes," Bakura hums as he takes more sand from the gameboard, "Think about it, Pharaoh. You're alive, but no one can hear you. You're alive, but no one can see you. You struggle to breathe, but your nose and mouth are full of water...or even sand." Bakura teased as he dropped the sand back onto the game board. "Oho, sand is the worst, because unlike water you're stuck in the same place, choking completely underground. No one can see you, no one can even hear your throat clench and cut off oxygen for your lungs. Hell, people would blindly walk ontop of your suffering, completely unaware they're walking over a future corpse. You're lucky if you're drowning in water, because people would be able to see your struggles with the air bubbles."

Uncomfortable, the Pharaoh narrows his eyes at Bakura's detailed perception, "...what does that have to do with my memory, Bakura?"

Bakura's smirk soon faded to a closed-eye smile as he shrugged at the Pharaoh's question, "Just reminiscing, that's all. Just there's so much sand I couldn't help but ponder, who knows how many corpses could be buried under. Maybe they're important..." He hummed before shaking his head, "...anyway, let's begin with our final battle, shall we~?"

And so, the final battle began, and unbeknownst to the Pharaoh, there was more significance to Bakuras's sudden question than he realizes.

Meanwhile, down on the battlefield, things were going dangerously south. The first problem being that Bakura able to summon Zorc and merge with it in order to grow stronger. Following dangerously close, High Priests Shimon, Shada, and Karim had been killed by Bakura's hands. Not to mention this became a dangerous Shadow Game, and the Pharaoh was already on the brink of not only losing, but also with death creeping along the corner. This could very well kill him off a second time and grant Zorc access to finishing off what it started. Even if Yugi, Tea, Tristan, and Joey ran just in time to defend him, it wouldn't be long before they would also lose and fall under the hands of Zorc - just as it did towards the murdered High Priests. Not to mention the fact that the RPG game between Bakura and the Pharaoh, unfortunately, leaned more towards Bakura's victory than his worthy opponent. It practically seemed like all was lost.

"That's right, you understand now, don't you Pharaoh?!" Bakura, sneered with a grin, "I win-"

Bakura was interrupted by the clouds booming in rage with a sudden entrance of the Seal of Orichalcos being in the center of this sudden storm, right above the battle scene. Everyone immediately went silent and all attention shifted over to the Seal, watching the cryptic letters rapidly circulate and expand. Green lighting strikes emerged around the Seal and struck nearby with thunder booming over the land. The clouds heavily darkened the faster the Seal circulated and swirled right at the center as though a tornado was going to strike. Hyper winds clashed together and quickly blew over to the direction of the Seal, the sounds loudly echoed through all ears as a warning for the upcoming arrival. Not long after, three dragons arose from the grounds and lifted in the sky, each dragon in a position as though they were ready to escort the beast they swore to keep at bay.

Everyone watched in horror as right at the center of the Seal, dark clouds formed an eye that rapidly opened and blinked. Once the eye opened, a deep, dark growl emerged from the clouds, hidden amongst the dark thunder and howling winds. Even so, the growl was still heard among all citizens and everyone on the battlefield.

"....fuck..." Bakura muttered, nervously chuckling at the scene above him.

"Wait a..." Joey turned pale, "Don' tell me....that's the Great Leviathan-"

"It is." Yugi's eyes narrowed and watched the Seal further expand to allow the eye to move. Dark clouds moved with the eye as though it was apart of its body as the eye swooped down and remained locked with Bakura. The slit briefly widened, then went thin when its vision was clear. The dark clouds surrounding the eye began to mutate and began to quickly develop more of its form. It wasn't long before the other eye was made, and the familiar fins....along with the sharp teeth that was visible with its long, large mouth. Its long body slithered down and its head tilted diagonally so the fully body is dispersed from the Seal. The more it revealed itself, the louder the thunder boomed with the lightning rapidly increasing. The Seal finally stopped moving once the tail flicked away from above the sky, as it was finally present in the battlefield, ready for action.

Anyone who previously thought the Egyptian Gods were huge, they were strongly greeted with a serpent that was five times bigger.

"HOLY SHIT!" Joey shrieked and stumbled back a few steps, "THAT THING IS HUGE!"

The Great Leviathan rose its head and cracked open its mouth, letting out a hiss that sent ears to loudly ring. The tail whipped to a certain destroyed house not far from where Bakura was, an immense amount of sand dispersed in the air and lay harshly on the floor. Steam dispersed from the Leviathan's mouth with hunger seeping from its mouth as its eyes intensely locked with Bakura. Right as the immense amount of sand was flung in the air, Timaeus swooped down in that area as though it was collecting something.

"I...Ima be honest.." Tristan gulped, "If...If I was a duelist and I saw that...I'd retire."

"so that's what (y/n) has to endure..." Tea gasped, trembling in the spot upon the reality of your life.

For the first time in this duel, the moment Tea spoke of your name, the Pharaoh's eyes finally widened with life starting to return. It was as though he had just realized the situation, and finally looked up with his vision blurry at the serpent that slithered down towards Zorc with a growl.

"Sh...She summoned it..." He muttered weakly as the serpent immediately took action and slithered around the Dark God. Tightening its grip on the God, steam escaped the Leviathan's lips with its prickly dark purple tongue licking its sharp, eager fangs. The slits expanded with eagerness as the mouth opened wide, wide enough for possibly two of the Egyptian Gods to perfectly fit under, and sunk its sharp fangs into the Dark God's skin effortlessly. A huge chunk of Zorc's arm was sharply and slowly ripped out of its body for the Leviathan to swallow within one gulp, with the body further tightening its grip.

"I...It's....eating Zorc?!" Joey covered his mouth in both shock and to try to hide his nausea. It was such a shock, that literally everyone was paralyzed with fear.

All except the Pharaoh, who tried his best to keep his vision in tact to find the Vessel who was bound to protect it.

'Wh....Where is she...' He pondered, as his motivation to find you became the sole reason why he's still conscious. He tried his best to get up, but he would find himself falling back on the floor or he would find himself unable to move due to the lack of strength he had left.

"P-Pharaoh!" Yugi was the only person who snapped out of his paralysis and went straight to his other self to help him.

"Yugi..wh...where is she?" He asked, panicked that he isn't seeing you, "Wh....where is (y/n)..."

"I don't know.." Yugi shook his head and also took a look around in hopes to find you. Instead, he and the Pharaoh could only find the Leviathan chewing out Zorc and the two dragons hovering over the house the Leviathan knocked down earlier. Yet, it wasn't long before Timaeus soon joined Critias and Hermos, as the three dragons finally took action and slithered over towards where Yugi and everyone else was.

He froze in place, his eyes desperately hoping to find you sitting on at least one of the dragons. And relief surged his body once he saw you hopping off of Timaeus.

He has yet to realize why you went this far, and why you looked at him with a look he's never seen in your eyes before as far as he remembers. He tried to run to you, but lost strength and fell on his knees once more; feeling his life force still short from the duel he had with Zorc. You walked over to him and locked hands with him as he stared at you with wide eyes. His hands immediately tied with yours as you knelt down,

"You know, I never once told you it first." You smiled at him. His eyes narrowed briefly,

"...what?"

"Deep down, I've always wanted to, but I never did. It was always you who said it first. Then I realized something...I never said it up until now because whenever I said it, I'd say it with your name."

You felt his hands tense up as they locked with yours, his breath was silent as you gently caressed his trembling fingers. You took a deep breath, as your hearing cut short to only focus on the man infront of you - as he did as well, as his ears only listened to your voice.

"....Maybe it was something inside me, holding me back to say it because up until now I only knew you as Yami..." You felt yourself choke up, your heart skipped slightly on recalling all the memories you've lost with this man. He silently stared at you, listening to each and every single word with his body trembling. You took a shaky breath to calm yourself down, and just before the eclipse arose, your eyes locked with his and you smiled at him,

"...I love you, Atem."

His breath cut short and his grip on you tightened with eyes wide. Chills were sent down his spine and his heart skipped unimaginable beats. His whole body shook under your words and tears brimmed his crimson eyes. It was as though it was something he had long waited for, as eagerness, relief, and joy surged his veins.

For a brief moment, and very brief, he forgot about everything around him. He could only stare in astonishment at his wife sitting before him....no....the little girl he forced to play Senet with.

He stared at you, the only one that he demanded to call him by his name and nothing more.

And words could not be used for him to describe how beautiful you looked when you said his name.

Slowly connecting back to reality, he found strength return, and he slowly rose to his feet and stared up at the monstrous beast that loomed over everyone. Zorc's final blow seemed to be almost ready for blasting, it was rather eager despite the Leviathan's brutal attack that still kept going; the tail still tightly squeezed the demon with it fangs waiting for another opportunity to strike. It was almost like Zorc tried forgetting the fact an ancient serpent is actively eating it alive. Yet, despite the grotesque scene before him, his hands remained locked with you as he finally opened his mouth,

"I call the Egyptian Gods and seal your fate, for my name is Atem."

The Leviathan let go of the Dark God and slithered away right as a bright glow struck Zorc from Atem's words. From Yugi's deck, the three Egyptian Gods flew out and sprung into view (although looking like dwarfs in comparison to the Leviathan),

"Now Zorc! This is the power of unity! With the ones dearest to me, I can call forth the Gods! GAZE UPON THE THREE GODS!" Strength finally returned to his voice as he called forth these three Gods, and once they showed up, he clenched his fists and glared upon the Dark God,

"AND IN THE NAME OF THE KING, I UNITE THE GODS INTO THE CREATOR GOD OF LIGHT, HORAKHTY!" Atem's words sent the three Egyptian Gods to merge into one sole being that you've never seen in your entire life. It was as though this whole nostalgic feeling you've had soon vanished the moment you said his name.

This being took the shape of a human, as on her head lay Ra's armored head that was accompanied by Ra's wings. The armor went down to her chest with a long white silk covering her bottom half; right at the center of her chest was a blue orb, which was also displayed on each of its shoulders. Right by her pure white arms lay silk that gently hung behind the arms, and with a closer look on her armor, the Millennium Key could be seen. Comparing sizes, she looked to be half of the size of the Leviathan, who silently loomed over with steam still escaping its lips.

This being made the remaining Zorc tremble, now completely paralyzed due to the lack of organs and fear mixed together. "H....Horakhty..." It muttered its last words,

"ZORC, LORD OF SHADOW! I BANISH YOU FROM THIS WORLD!" Atem hissed as the giant God purged Zorc with nothing but light.

This whole scene was displayed infront of him, but he didn't even need to watch the fate of Zorc. He already knew what was going to happen. Instead, he turned his head at you and gave your hand a tight squeeze for attention. Slightly taken aback, your attention shifted to him to lock eyes with a gentle smile on his face,

"....I love you, (y/n)." His eyes softened as he spoke with such kindness and love, you could not hold back the tears that brimmed your eyes. His hand pulled you closer to him as with his free hand, he cupped your cheek as he pressed his lips against yours right as Zorc was annihilated from the light and dissipated to nothing but dust.

Atem pulled away from the kiss and stared at you for a bit, before his eyes narrowed,

"...There is still something I have to do." He mumbled,

"What's left? You snapped Zorc to dust, isn't that the whole point?" You asked with an eyebrow raised,

"No...there's still more. I can feel it." He soon looked at Yugi, Tristan, and Tea, who all looked eager and relieved at the same time, "...Guy-"

"WE FINALLY FOUND YOUR NAME! ABOUT DAMN TIME!" Joey cheered, "AND THAT BIG GOD IS GONE CAUSE OF THE LEVIATHAN CHEWIN' HIM UP LIKE A PACK OF RIBS! AHAAA SUCKS TO SUCK ZORC!"

You looked up at the Leviathan as everyone briefly cheered, and watched its slit narrow,

"Time to leave. You're finished in this world."

You stiffened in place and stared at the Leviathan with wide eyes, what does it mean you can't stay here anymore?

"You did what you were supposed to do. Don't meddle in further. Worry not for your daughter, for I will fetch her before I take you out."

"....Atem." You narrowed your eyes and locked eyes with him. He immediately turned to look at you with his eyes drifting to the Leviathan who glared at him.

"..What does it want?" Atem asked,

"The Leviathan is getting me out of here." You informed, "...I trust you know what you're doing?"

"Wait what?" Joey quickly averted to you, "What da ya mean?"

His eyes widened at this, and for a brief second, you detected in his eyes he longed for you to stay. This look soon faded, and determination flashed in his eyes once more, "....I will see you soon, my love."

"I better see you or I'm slapping Yugi as a substitute." You sneered,

"What?! Why me?!" Yugi gasped and covered his cheeks,

"You're the only substitute." You winked in reply as the Seal of Orichalcos appeared behind the Leviathan almost instantly,

"It's time." Its tail slithered over in your direction and slowly wrapped itself around you.

'Damn, can't even spend another second?'

"You've had plenty time. No time to waste. Let him figure it all out on his own."

And just like that, you felt your consciousness fade to black.

You awoke to find yourself in a different room, it was rather empty for the most part except the fact right in the middle of this room was a giant table. Upon closer inspection, you found this table to appear like some form of game, the fields being literally Ancient Egypt. However, that wasn't really the main thing that caught your interest. It was the fact the Millennium Puzzle was buried in the sand, as though someone took it and plopped it in the game.

"Oooo, mommy what is this game?" You heard Nymphi ask. Startled, you looked down to find Nymphi peeking over at the game board with curiosity,

"...no clue.." You muttered as you took the Puzzle from the sand.

"And why is Bakura sleeping over there?" Nymphi asked and pointed at a certain direction,

"....what." Taken aback by Nymphi's question, you quickly looked at where she pointed at to find Bakura unconscious on the board game. You stared at him, cautiously walking over to where he lay and poked his back to see if he would wake up. He didn't.....which made you decide whether you should be concerned or relieved.

'...It technically wasn't Bakura who did all this, it was the Spirit of the Millennium Ring...' You took notice of the Millennium Ring also buried in the sand, '....who was technically Bakura....who looks exactly like the Bakura I'm seeing now.....who I have a feeling is a reincarnation of the Bakura who almost killed me.....' Your train of thought was interrupted when you heard grunts. Startled, you turned to find four coffins laying before you, with Yugi, Tristan, Tea, and Joey rising from the coffins as though they had just woken up.

"...Seriously how did I not notice all this?" You mumbled to yourself as you locked eyes with Yugi, who looked relieved to see you,

"(Y/n)!" Yugi's eyes lit up when he saw you and Nymphi, "Nymphi! You guys are alright!"

"Uncle Yugi! Bakura's sleeping!" Nymphi snitched,

"Bakura-" Yugi halted in his tracks, "....evil Bakura or good Bakura?"

"Looks to be good," You hoised the rope that held the Ring to display it to Yugi, "I sense no malice inside it."

"Oh thank goodness..." Yugi sighed of relief and Joey put his hands on his hips,

"So...when were ya gonna tell me the Great Leviathan was so huge?" Joey asked,

"Well...I mean..." You raised an eyebrow, "...the name does say Great Leviathan...soo.."

"And the fact it was able to eat up a literal God?" Joey added,

"To be fair..." You nervously shrugged, "....it didn't entirely eat up Zorc."

"But enough for that thing to look like Thanksgiving leftovers!" Joey exclaimed, "The Great Leviathan was brutal!"

"....if it can bite Zorc...what is it doing with Dartz?" Tristan asked,

You narrowed your eyes at Tristan, "....sometimes questions are best left unanswered."

Not wanting to terrorize them further by telling them of Dartz, you left it at that. Not long after, you sensed a shift in Yugi, and soon you locked eyes with a very familiar man.

"I hope you didn't slap Yugi while I was gone." Atem smirked,

"I was gonna," You stretched your knuckles, "If you came a minute later you would've felt it." You joked as you looked back at Bakura to notice something fishy with his deck as everyone eagerly greeted Atem's return. Unsure how you're now starting to look at his deck - which was face-up - you locked eyes with the first card that was shown as though it was ready to use. It almost looked like a very familiar serpent-

Wait a minute.... you paused and stared at this card before realizing what it is.

That's....that's the Great Leviathan Card that was granted to you after you beat Dartz.

Alarmed, you took the card from Bakura's deck and looked at Atem, "...Atem, you dueled Bakura, right?"

"Yes," Atem raised an eyebrow,

"Talking more like how you would play a duel now, like in present times." You added and watched him furrow his eyebrows,

"Yugi did," Joey answered, "Why?"

"Well, I'm a little concerned for Yugi, because Bakura had this." You flipped the card and showed Atem and everyone the card Bakura had ready to use. Gasps were heard, and Joey nervously gulped,

"Y...Ya mean to tell me Yug' would've faced that....that long...huge....serpent?" Joey asked and Atem narrowed his eyes,

"...Yugi says that Bakura seemed to be prepared to summon something big, but before Bakura could even summon it, Yugi beat him." Atem informed, "...and now that I recall, Bakura seemed very....eager to try something when I faced him in this room."

"W....Wait...so....so that means.." Tea grew pale,

"He was gonna summon the Lethianthn!" Nymphi gasped,

"Leviathan." You gently corrected her, "The Great Leviathan."

"Yeah, that." Nymphi nodded, "Why did he have it?"

"Good question." You sneered at Bakura's unconscious body, "I could've sworn I had it."

"How did he even get it?" Tristan asked, "Was there any point in time that gave him the opportunity?"

You hummed in thought to try to recall any moment that left an opening for him. As you thought, you placed your hand on Nymphi's head as a way to prevent her from jumping on Bakura as an attack.

"....Probably when he was with Nymphi and I on the plane.." You muttered, recalling how you were so tired and slept for a long time - it's the only time frame where he can sneak in your deck and pull out the card. Nymphi dramatically gasped and stared at you,

"Ah! I remembered something!" She gasped, "Mommy, Bakura was weird on the plane! He kept dueling me but I noticed he used your deck at least three times!" She snitched,

"....and....you're telling me this now?" You raised an eyebrow at her,

"Yeah!" Nymphi innocently responded and got a flick in the head as a result.

"Well...uh....glad he wasn't able to summon it...." Tristan gulped, "I...I think it's time we get outta here."

"Tristian. I couldn't have agreed more." Joey patted Tristan's back, "Let's go. I think Ishizu has waited long enough."

"...you guys go ahead then," You nudged Nymphi, "Nymphi, go with your father. You still have to tell him what you told me."

"What?" Atem raised an eyebrow as Nymphi's eyes lit up as she recalled her "adventure" with Bakura,

"OH YEAH! DADDY! TEA PUSHED BAKURA!" Nymphi screamed and ran to him,

"....What?" Now confused, Atem effortlessly swooped Nymphi into his arms and was drilled with a whole story pertaining to his daughter's whereabouts and her...adventures...with Bakura. Joey and Tristan followed Atem, who listened to Nymphi's story with confusion as to why she's so eager despite her explaining her kidnapping story. Meanwhile, you remained next to Bakura's side and stared at the Great Leviathan card,

"...What are you going to do with it?" Tea asked, "Keep it or destroy it?"

"...Don't know." You shrugged, "...I tore all the Seal of Orichalcos cards when I finished up Dartz, yet I was blessed with the card that has the very serpent. I'm not even sure if I am gonna use this card if I am honest. But how can I destroy it when it was given to me by the Leviathan itself?" You answered as you put the card in your deck, "...So, gonna hold onto it. Maybe put it into use for emergency situations...but I doubt that'll happen."

Tea's eyes narrowed at your deck, "...(y/n), I...I want to apologize."

"For what?" You raised an eyebrow, a bit taken aback on how straightforward Tea is,

"...I have been a really bad friend, and I denied it thinking I was doing what's right. I....I was jealous of you...I was jealous you managed to do so much to us and bring so much impact in ways I could never do..." She gulped, ".....And for that, I am really sorry."

You stared at her for a bit, quite amused at how different this apology was in contrast to her earlier before this whole mess started, "...Tea, it's okay. Really, it is, and I appreciate the apology-"

"nngh..." you and Tea heard Bakura groan as he slowly opened his eyes, "....Wh....Where am I..."

Noticing no familiar malice in Bakura's soul, you lightly tapped Bakura's shoulder, "Just in some room."

"Wh...What happened?" He asked as he locked eyes with you, "...I...I only remember trying to...pray...and...it all went black.."

'Oh you poor thing....' You narrowed your eyes and helped him to his feet, "Nothing. It's all good now."

"Is..." Bakura's eyes went wide, "...Is he gone?" He referred to the spirit of the Millennium Ring,

"....Yes." You nodded, "And we're getting you out of this room."

You, Tea, and Bakura were the last ones to leave the room that held possibly one of the worst battles you were involved in. It's all over.

By the time you, Bakura, and Tea met up with the others, you were greeted by Yugi, and some new guests as well.

"Wh-" You were shocked as Mai ran to you and wrapped her arms around you, "How did you guys get here?!"

"Nathaniel brought me~" Mai winked and referred to Papa who was already warmly greeted by Nymphi.

"Queen (y/n)," You heard Ishizu from behind, "It is time to head onto the boat, for we must prepare for the Rite of the Duel."

"The what of the what?" You blinked,

"Ah...think of it as a duel before the Eye of Wadjet, to give you, your daughter, and the Pharaoh eternal rest. He must duel someone, and that person must win in order to give the Pharaoh's soul peace before he returns."

"Ah....so like a test or something?" You summarized,

"That's a way of thinking. Now come, we must go." Ishizu escorted you to the boat that everyone headed in order to head off to the location where it will all literally end.

You, Yugi, and Nymphi were rested in a room, and Nymphi was running around the room playing with her favorite toy, Mr. Stuffers.

"(Y/n)..." Yugi's eyes narrowed, "I haven't heard from Atem recently,"

"What do you mean?" You narrowed your eyes, a little concerned at this,

"No, like he's been inside the puzzle in his soul room, I think he's sleeping." Yugi assured, "But I feel bad though, cause shouldn't he be with you?"

'Oh...he's adorable' You thought to yourself and sighed, "Yugi, it's okay. Let him rest. Besides, it gives me an excuse to spend more time with you."

"Uncle Yugi! Let's duel!" Nymphi pulled out her deck and eagerly sat on the floor, "I wanna duel you! You looked so cool when you dueled Bakura!"

Yugi stared at Nymphi, "Well...I was planning on saving my deck for when I duel your father-"

"But I wanna duel you! I'll even give you half my deck!"

"Uh..." He nervously chuckled as you handed him your deck instead,

"Here. Just in case Atem cheats." You said,

"A-Are you sure?"

"Positive." You nodded and watched Yugi take your deck and sit infront of Nymphi,

"Alright! Let's duel!"

And you watched Yugi and Nymphi duel. You quietly laughed as Yugi had to reexplain the rules to Nymphi whenever he caught her cheating (while claiming it's all Cassandra), so it became a duel-monsters class than an actual duel. Of course, after he taught her the rules, he offered to play another duel.....and you watched him actually struggle a bit.

You couldn't tell if it was either Yugi underestimating her, or Nymphi is actually good. Either way, Yugi managed to beat her in the end, but it wasn't hard to see some sweat running down Yugi's back.

"Wait, Uncle Yugi, is that how you play duel monsters?" Nymphi asked,

"Y-Yeah, and you're actually really good!" Yugi nodded,

"Did Cassandra try to beat me then?!" Nymphi gasped,

"No...she only knows how to cheat." You rolled your eyes,

"Who is Cassandra?" Yugi asked,

"Papa's personal assistant." You responded,

"She's so cool," Nymphi shuffled her deck and stared at Yugi, "But anyways! I know how to play duel monsters! Let's play again!"

"Oho! A challenge?" Yugi smirked as he shuffled your deck, "Alright, Nymphi, another round!"

They played in total about three games. Yugi won two, Nymphi won the last one.

"You...really are Atem's child.." Yugi nervously chuckled as Nymphi excitedly ran around the room, boasting to imaginary friends of her victory. She soon ran to you and eagerly jumped,

"Mommy! Mommy! I won! I won!" She cheerfully spoke, "I beat Uncle Yugi!"

"I saw I saw," You assured, "Let's keep that information in this room, 'kay? Say your thanks to Uncle Yugi cause he has to finish up preparations for his big duel tomorrow."

"Okay!" Nymphi nodded and ran to hug Yugi, "Thank you Uncle Yugi! I had a fun time playing with you!"

Yugi laughed and returned the embrace, "No problem, Nymphi! You're a really good player! You should keep it going, you may even beat your own father!"

"I can?!" Nymphi gasped and stared at her cards, "I am gonna study my cards then!"

"Think of more strategies! I'll support you! And when you beat your father we'll both cheer like this!" Yugi rooted and got up on his feet as Nymphi bolted to her cards. He looked at you with his face slightly fallen when he locked eyes with you, and approached you,

"...hey....I thought up until now Atem would come in and spend time with Nymphi-"

"Yugi," You interrupted him and patted his shoulder, "I told you, it's fine. Besides, even if he was awake, he would've watched rather than take over. You know how he is."

"Yeah...you're right, but I would've sensed him nearby...or even seen him." Yugi frowned and looked at the Millennium Puzzle,

"Hey, it's all good, trust. If Atem were to even come in, Nymphi would scream for you." You assumed, "She may not be as social, but to who she considers friends she's very loyal."

"Just like you?" Yugi asked with a smile. Taken aback on Yugi's question, you blinked and slowly nodded,

"Yeah..." You nodded, never really thinking about that, "....I guess so."

Yugi let out a soft chuckle and excused himself, leaving your room to entertain Nymphi until she passes out of exhaustion on the bed. Which took at least another hour. Exhaustion completely swept her and she was out cold on the bed. Not feeling as tired yet, you decided to entertain yourself by reading a book you found, which was ironically about Ancient Egypt. Having only one light on (as you need to see to read), you silently read the book as the night sky loomed over the ship. Once you read to a certain extent, you closed the book and stared at the dark ocean before you heard the door open. A little surprised that someone walked in your room, it took a bit to consider the fact the only person who would come in would probably be Yugi,

"Yugi, I told you not to worry," You sighed, "and I mean it too. If he needs to rest then-"

"I'm fine, (y/n)." You heard Atem's voice gently respond as you stared at the door to find your husband leaning against the door with a gentle smile.

"Oh...well o-kay then." You blinked and put the book aside, "Did you prepare everything before you came here or did you ditch?"

"Of course I prepared everything, my deck is ready." Atem lifted himself from the door and sat on the bed beside Nymphi,

"And Yugi?"

"In his soul room this time." Atem responded as he gently brushed Nymphi's hair, "He wanted to give me privacy for a bit for my deck."

You watched his uncertain eyes as he softly braided Nymphi's hair, you knew something was wrong. "....So then what's wrong?"

His hands locked in place as he stiffened, silently staring at Nymphi for a bit before removing his hands from her hair and stared at the ground.

"...(y/n).....I....am conflicted." Atem's eyes narrowed, "...I want to bring us home...I really do, but...Yugi.....I can't just leave him. There's....still a feeling that resides in me, as though I don't want to leave. But I feel selfish thinking like that."

"Why?" You furrowed your eyebrows,

"Because that would hurt you and Nymphi. I don't want to selfishly stick with Yugi without considering your and Nymphi's opinion."

"You know how she works," You rolled your eyes, "She will go along with anything you come up with."

"...so if I lose, are you and Nymphi okay with staying here and not going home?" Atem sternly asked,

You narrowed your eyes at this question before taking a huge sigh, "...Listen, for me, it really doesn't matter in which bed I sleep or which air I breathe. To me, all it really matters is you. I'm okay with literally anything, in here I have Mai, Nathaniel, Cassandra, and the Kaiba brothers. So if you're worried you're being selfish you're horribly wrong."

"And what of Nymphi?"

"She clings onto Mokuba and Yugi like a koala. I think she's fine either way." You shrugged, "Atem, home isn't really just a single place. It can anything, really."

Atem let out a sigh and lightly caressed Nymphi's cheek as she slept, "....what would I be without you, (y/n)?" He mumbled as his eyes locked with yours.

"Single I guess." You shrugged your shoulders and heard Atem chuckle in response,

"I guess so," He agrees as he pulled you into his arms, his arms wrapped around your waist as he nuzzled into your chest. He let out a content sigh as you felt him relax against you as you massaged his shoulders,

"Hey, you got this. Win or lose, all three of us are going to remain together." You reminded him and heard him let out a soft sigh. He hesitantly removed his face from your chest to look at you,

"May I kiss you?" He asked,

You couldn't help but quietly laugh at this, "Sure,"

He lifted one hand from around your waist to gently hold your cheek as he pulled your lips toward his. Greeted with his warm and soft lips, your hands cupped his cheeks. The kiss remained soft and steady for a bit until Atem pulled away and stared at you with half-lidded eyes,

"...I love you." He whispered as he moved your face and kissed your cheek.

"I love you too," Your pressed his cheek against your face, which gave Atem the excuse to kiss your cheek again. The sun slowly began to rise and the boat finally made its stop as it reached its location.

Of course when the sun rose, as did Nymphi, and her eyes went wide when she saw Atem.

"Daddy!" She crawled to his lap, "Don't tell Yugi, but I beat him in a duel."

"...you did?" Atem nervously asked,

"Yeah!" She nodded, completely unaware of the situation before her. Flicking her forehead once more, you walked with Atem out of the ship and followed everyone down a tunnel and towards a giant door. Below the door lay the tomb that held all the Millennium Items with a few hooded people holding onto the Millennium Key and Scale.

"...giving me Kul Elna vibes..." You muttered as Atem took the Items from the men and placed them in the tomb along with his puzzle. Right as the final piece was set, the Eye of Wadjet began to glow and split Atem and Yugi in separate bodies to finally finish this whole thing once and for all.

Mai gasped at this and leaned close to you, "Wait..so which Yugi are you married to" She asked,

"...The one on the right." You whispered, referring to Atem,

"...Ah....he suits you." Mai complimented and directed her attention back to the duel that began the moment both duelists were positioned.

You silently watched the duel before you with narrowed eyes, Yugi was a good duelist, you can tell by the duels he had with Nymphi. In the first two rounds he was joking around, and in the third, he actually started to take things seriously. If Yugi was able to joke around and still win two times with someone as intelligent as Nymphi, then he got what it takes to beat Atem. It was a rather intense duel to say the least, as all three Egyptian Cards were summoned in Atem's side, leaving Yugi practically vulnerable.

But for some reason...you knew Yugi would win. He didn't look the same as before when you met him back on Pegasus' Island. He looked more confident, more mature for his age as he pursued on with such determination it almost matched Atem.

'....He doesn't need Atem anymore.' You realized with your eyes softening, '.....it's over...I am finally gonna be able to rest....but at what cost...' You silently looked at Mai and Nathaniel, your heart began to break knowing you'll never see them again.

Already knowing the outcome of the duel, you turned to Nathaniel and gently tapped his shoulder. His eyes shifted from the duel to you, and within seconds you watched his eyes fall, seeming as though he knew by simply looking at you of what's to happen in the near future.

"....Papa," You gulped a tremble and tightly wrapped your arms around him, "....Thank you for taking care of us." You whispered in his ear as the man returned this embrace immediately with tears brimming his eyes,

"...No....thank you for being apart of my life..." His voice quivered as Atem's life points dropped to zero with Yugi's final blast. As you heard Yugi's gasp and collapse on the floor of shock, you slightly pulled away from Nathaniel and wiped away some tears that escaped his eyes,

"...you remind me so much of my late daughter...I only wish you could stay with me, but that would be selfish. I will forever cherish you as my second daughter and Nymphi as my granddaughter for the rest of my life."

"Move on, Papa..." You encouraged, "...Find someone and provide a third, and give them the same love and protection you've given your first, Nymphi, and I."

"Are...Are we going home?" Nymphi tugged your jeans,

"Yes," You nodded with a sniff,

"Are we taking Papa with us?" Nymphi asked and watched your face fall,

"...no...sweetie." You shook your head and left room for her to see Nathaniel one last time, "...he's staying here with Mokuba and everyone else."

"Why?" Tears began to dwell in her eyes, "He...He can't come with us?"

"No, he can't." You shook your head, "it's just gonna be you, me, and daddy."

Heartbroken, you watched Nymphi's lips quiver as she silently hugged Nathaniel with stifled sobs. Nathaniel knelt and swooped her into his arms, pulling her in a tight embrace once last time.

"Wait...th...that's it?" Mai stuttered as she stared at you, "You're...leaving? Like...forever?"

"Well...yeah...kinda.." You shrugged your shoulders and nervously chuckled in response. You watched tears begin flowing down Mai's eyes as though reality struck her just the same as Nathaniel.

"W...We...still didn't duel though! I...I planned so much to do with you...I....aha...I forgot..." Mai's whole body trembled, although she chuckled, you could tell it was from disbelief. Biting your lower lip, you silently approached her and gave her a tight embrace for the last time. You had to take a second to fully embrace her, you were already going to miss the perfume she wore (not only on herself but her cards) and the texture of her hair. It was a tough one to pull away, but you had to as you knew it was time to go. Keeping your hand interlaced with Mai, you turned once more to Nathaniel and gave him a tight hug once more before you looked to see Atem silently waiting a few steps back. Once he got your queue, he approached you and tapped Nymphi,

"It's time." He gently spoke as Nymphi sadly nodded and looked at Nathaniel one last time,

"B...Bye bye Papa...I love you.."

"I love you too sweetheart, don't be so sad. You're finally going home."

"B...But I want you to come too..."

"You know I can't," Nathaniel shook his head, "But just know I will always cherish you in my heart, I will never forget you. Promise me you won't forget about me?"

"I won't!" Nymphi shook her head and wiped her own tears, "I won't forget you, Papa! I will say your name every time I think I'm forgetting it!"

"And I will do the same," He took out his pinkie, "Okay?"

"O-Okay!" Nymphi's pinkie wrapped around Nathaniel's as she went on the floor. Giving Mai one last tight squeeze, you slowly departed from Mai and looked at Atem, who was on one knee before Nathaniel,

"I want to thank you for giving my wife and daughter hospitality up until now. You have my deepest gratitude." Atem spoke as Nathaniel gently rested his hands on the Pharaoh's shoulders,

"....Thank you for giving me the opportunity to move on from my past, Pharaoh Atem." Nathaniel spoke as Atem rose from his feet and gave him a deep bow before looking at you,

"Shall we?" Atem's fingers interlaced with yours as you gave him a nod. His other hand wrapped around Nymphi's as he took you and his daughter up the steps and before the giant door that stood. The eye of Wadjet glowed before the presence of the Pharaoh,

"The eye of Wadjet guards the door to the afterlife through the rite of the duel, it has seen the truth of the Pharaoh's soul. After five thousand years of being lost in the world of the living, the time has come for the Pharaoh's soul to be welcomed into the next world." Ishizu looked at Atem, "Soul of the Pharaoh! say your name to the Eye of Wadjet!"

Atem took a deep breath before he looked up at the eye, "....Atem."

The door immediately began to open before you, and you, Nymphi, and Atem were greeted with an immense amount of light. Feeling Atem's hand tighten yours, he started walking towards the other side -

"YUGI!" Tristan, Joey, Tea, and Yugi screamed for Atem's attention which halted him in his tracks.

"A....Are you g...guys really...g...going to go...." Tristan sobbed with tears and snot streaming down his face as though reality finally kicked in.

You felt if you turned around now, you would've broken down along with Tristan. Not only that, but you would've ditched the door and ran back downstairs to Mai and Papa, so you remained your eyes to the light through the door. As so did Atem, and you felt it was the very same reason as you.

"Y....Yami...n-no...Atem..." Tea hiccuped, "You need to go to the other side of that light...I know that...but....but once you go through, you guys won't come back! I-I don't get it...w-we've been friends for so long, now all of a sudden you're just going to leave?! Y-You just discovered your own name...and I finally realized what kind of a shitty friend I was to (y/n)...and now I don't have the time to make it up for her!?"

"Tea!" Joey clenched his fists, "...you...just need to accept it. Ya gotta burn these memories into your brain and become a better person! The time you spent with him and (y/n), ya gotta make 'em unforgettable! We gotta see him and his family off to his future...for the happiness they deserve!" Joey heartfeltly explained before looking at yours and Atem's back, "Yugi!! (Y/N)!! Even if you're both royalty, you're still Yugi and (y/n)! Even if a thousand years pass, we'll always be friends!"

You couldn't help but turn your head to give Joey a soft smile and a tiny nod. Atem did the same, and once he turned back to the door, he nudged you and Nymphi.

"Let's go." Atem whispered, and the three royalties of Ancient Egypt pursued their way to the other side of the door. The door slowly closed, and as tears remained on one side, happiness was on the other. Happiness surged you once more as you, Atem, and Nymphi walked through the doors, where nothing but peace and tranquility would remain for all of eternity on the other side.

The End

A/N; I want to take a second of your time to say thank you. You have no idea how honored I am to be able to show you this story, to allow me to test my abilities in writing and plotting.

As such, I am gonna host a Q&A! Just ask any questions you have and I will answer all of them in the next chapter (that's why on the ArchiveofOurOwn, there are 52 chapters rather than 51). The Q&A will be posted in a week from the day this chapter has been published, and don't worry if you miss the deadline; post your question anyway and I'll reply to your comment!

As always, thank you SO much for reading The Pharaoh's Rose!
