So, as you all may have noticed I changed the cover for the book! The new one has been designed by pansiesandpeonies . The work she has done is amazing, she had sent me many options, and I will be switching them up after some time. Once again a huge thanks to her for the amazing art she sent me!
~~~~~ (Song on the next slide)
"Hey, what's your address?"
"What?" I sighed, how the hell is this guy a supposed 'nerd'. "Your address, what is your address?" "Yeah no, I got that, just why do you wanna know my address?"
"Elijah, I'm really pissed right now, and I need someone to be here with me to make sure I don't do something I'll regret, so once again What. Is. Your. Address? "Oh, okay." after finally getting his address, I sped up and drove to his place.
Within fifteen minutes I was at his house, he had told me to drive up to the side of the house and when I was there I saw the guy climbing out his window. He jumped down and ran to the car, sliding in. "Okay, now go." I simply stared at him. It wasn't so late that he'd have to sneak out.
Sensing my confusion, Elijah answered "My older brother is back from college and he brought his girlfriend.... Who is also pregnant. So there was no way in hell that I was going to ask my mom to go out and risk getting receiving her wrath. But no worries, I set my tripod in the living room to record whatever hell goes down there when I'm out."
That was way too much weird information to receive in 30 seconds, so I ended up just nodding and starting up the car. Five minutes into the drive Elijah finally breaks the silence. "So why again am I here?"
"Well dude here's the thing. When I'm mad or really really pissed my first decision is to go to a club or a liquor store. But the last time I did that. I ended up in a very.... Compromising situation. Now I don't want a repeat of that so you're going to stay with me the whole night to make sure I don't do anything stupid.
Elijah stared at me for so long that at some point I started getting a little squeamish. "You hooked up with someone." He deadpanned. "Huh, pfft. No. Why the hell would you think that?" "Because you did and don't worry. I'll find out who by the end of the night." I didn't reply just looked ahead and tried the hardest to hide the red tint on my cheeks.
"Any way. I don't think you have thought out your decision to take me along with you." I turn to him confused "Oh, yeah? Why's that?" "Well, because you see. You are a freakishly strong girl. Whereas I... I bruise like a peach." I laughed at that. "Don't worry smalls. I'm not gonna kill you."
"What are you even gonna do?" he asked. I shrugged "Drive to a liquor store, get a bottle of vodka and drink till I don't have the hand eye coordination to stab my brothers." "So I'm thinking that all of your anger is coming from your brothers which I get because siblings can be monsters. And the vodka plan does sound nice but... how about we do something a little more fun."
"What's more fun than getting wasted and talking shit about the people you hate?" Elijah took out his phone and started up the GPS. "Trust me, I know for a fact that you are going to love it."
After about 20 more minutes of driving, we arrived at a park. Which from the outside seemed to be completely empty but somehow was still very noisy. "Smalls.... You sure we are at the right place." I asked warily as I unbuckled my seat belt.
"Yeah we are. Now come on." The boy practically dragged me from my car to inside the park. We trudged along until we reached an area, which I guess is supposed to be the area where people skate. But instead of kids on skateboards or roller skates, the whole carved out area was filled with instruments.
There were neon lights flashing around the whole area with people running around and getting ready. "Dude what is this place?" Elijah stood before me with the biggest grin on his face, as he waved his hands around like a game show host. "This is the Rave." I look at him with confused eyes.
"Well not an actual rave, but that's the name of this whole event. This is where you are going to let out all of your anger." This was intriguing, so I let him go on. "Now you see, I know that as much as you like hitting people but I'm going to guess and say you would also love to scream out all of your feelings am I right?" I nodded.
"Here is where you get to do that as much as you want and also have a little bit of fun with it."
"So let me get this straight. You want me to do what...scream?" "Not exactly. I want you to pick out a song from this list and me and a few of my friends here will play the instruments for you." He replied while passing me his phone.
I was still skeptical of his plan but decided to go along with it. Picking out the song I wanted, I handed Elijah his phone, "Number 16." As he looked down and saw which song I wanted he grinned up at me. "Good choice. Now come on, I'll introduce you to the others."
We walked around a little more and stopped in front of a group of teenagers who looked to be in our age group (15-18). "Kate, this is Tommy." the guy he pointed to was tall, with a slight stuble across his face and tattoos littered his arms and neck.
"This is Kayla." a red head with her hair in a Bob cut, and wearing a full out grunge outfit and dark makeup.
"That is Toni." the girl was small in hight, with pink highlights in her hair, and she was wearing a leather jacket with what seemed to be a gang sign but I didn't question her much.
All of them were surprisingly really friendly, given that they looked at everyone else with scowls on their face.
"These are the guys who are going to play with us. Tommy plays the guitar, Kayla is on the base, Toni also plays the guitar but she can sing back up for you. And then you have me, your drumer." Elijah explained.
I was honestly surprised to see that Elijah played an instrument like the drums. "Great, now when do we actually start."
"I checked and after the guys playing right now, they have two more lined up and then it's us, so I'd say about another 20 minutes." Tommy replied.
"You can look around this place, for a while till we set up our own stuff." I nodded, thanking them I walked off. Looking around the park. When I noticed that this place wasn't as 'clean'as I had suspected it to be. You could spot the hidden deals happening here and there, small baggies of coke and X being exchanged in return for wads of cash.
I was about to continue my journey but was stopped by a voice behind me. "Hey baby girl, having fun?" looking back I saw the same guy from the club. "Like I told you back at the club, I am not your baby girl and yes I am having fun. And no I do not need your supply to have more fun."
He laughed, "I am not here for that." the man simply replied. "Then what?" he walked close to me and pulled out a bag filled with a white powder, dangling it in front of my face. "I'm here to offer something way better than my previous supply."
Eyeing the cocaine, I looked back up to him, truth be told, I was tempted to take it. I had tried hard drugs before and they had helped when Jasmine and Jason went a little too far. But I wasn't going to take them right now. Whatever I was going through right now could be handled on my own, without any of that.
"Thanks for the offer but, I'm not buying coke from you." I politely declined. I turned to walk away, but the guy immediately pulled me back by my wrist. I looked up at him questioningly "Who said anything about buying." with the same smug smirk on his face.
"Oh, so you're just handing them out to everyone now." I said, amused at his sales techniques. "Not everyone, just you sweetheart. When people see a rich girl like you taking my stuff. I'll be at the top in a second." he replied coyly as he slipped the packet in my jacket pocket.
And then without a word he walked away and dissapeared in the crowd. I was contemplating weather to throw out the bag, but was brought out of my thoughts by Elizabeth calling my name out telling me they were ready to start playing. As I got near the stage area, Elijah took my jacket off telling me to 'show off all of my qualities.' and in between the commotion, I guess one of the girls put a headband on my head with devil horns attached to it which I honestly did not mind because It made me look like a sexy devil.
Finally on stage, people surrounding us waiting to listen, I took the chance and let out all of the fucked up emotions that had been bubling inside me for so long. Taking a deep breath I started singing.
"She worked her way through a cheap pack of cigarettes Hard liquor mixed with a bit of intellect And all the boys, they were saying they were into it Such a pretty face, on a pretty neck
She's driving me crazy, but I'm into it, but I'm into it I'm kind of into it It's getting crazy, I think I'm losing it, I think I'm losing it Oh, I think she said "I'm having your baby, it's none of your business" "I'm having your baby, it's none of your business" (it's none of your, it' none of your) "I'm having your baby, it's none of your business" "I'm having your baby, it's none of your, it's none of your"
It's New York, baby, always jacked up Holland Tunnel for a nose, it's always backed up When she's alone, she goes home to a cactus In a black dress, she's such an actress
Driving me crazy, but I'm into it, but I'm into it I'm kind of into it It's getting crazy, I think I'm losing it, I think I'm losing it Oh, I think she said "I'm having your baby, it's none of your business" "I'm having your baby, it's none of your business" (it's none of your, it' none of your) "I'm having your baby, it's none of your business" "I'm having your baby, it's none of your, it's none of your"
She sits beside me like a silhouette Hard candy dripping on me 'til my feet are wet And now she's all over me, it's like I paid for it (cha-ching) It's like I paid for it, I'm gonna pay for this
It's none of your, it's none of your "I'm having your baby, it's none of your business" "I'm having your baby, it's none of your business" (It's none of your, none of your) "I'm having your baby, it's none of your business" "I'm having your baby, it's none of your business" (It's none of your, none of your)"
At the end, I was out of breath, looking back to see Elijah sat on his drums, looking at me with a happy and content expression. I had been skeptical about this idea even working but it honestly did help.
"So, did it help?" Elijah asked, eager to know my answer. "Yeah smalls, it did. And thanks for this." the boy literally squealed. "That is amazing. Now, you wanna go home?"
I laughed at that. "Oh no, we tried your way, now we're gonna try mine. Which includes a bottle of absolut vodka and a box of cigarettes." his face turned into an anxious one. "Am I gonna regret agreeing to this in the morning?"
I laughed harder, walking towards the exit and towards our car, after sitting back inside and starting it up o finally answered him. "Probably."
