Kingsley Creed
The next day rolled in, Kingsley was sleeping in a California king size bed. She was so comfortable she didn't want to wake up.
The sun shined through the large windows. She barley opened her eyes after hearing a soft knock. "Ms. Creed?" Justin spoke on the other side of the door. "It's time to wake up.
She slowly opened her eyes before sitting up. She snatched the comforter off her body. The cool breeze immediately hit her legs as she got out of bed. She opened the door letting Justin in before getting back in the bed.
"It's 1 in the afternoon, are you hungry? Royce want me to ask would you like to go out for lunch with him and some friends. I came to get you dressed." He said watching her get comfortable.
"Right now?" She asked.
"Yes, come on I have some outfits for you to pick out." He said.
He laid out three outfits on the bed while she sat up watching. "Where we going again?" She asked.
"You are going to eat lunch with Royce and some friends. So I have some cute outfits for you to wear. Which one?"
She picked out what she wanted to wear before getting out the bed. "Where we going to eat at?" She asked.
"That I don't know." He said.
She walked out the room going across the hall to the bathroom. She brushed her teeth then washed her face.
Meanwhile Royce was in his room on the phone with Knox. "What y'all about to do?" He asked.
"I'm taking her out to eat with the guys and their girls." He said. "Probably show her around afterwards."
"Is she being mean? Because all you gotta do is call me and I'll put her ass in her place." He said.
"Nah she chill. I expected her to be rude from what you've been telling me." He said. "It's some attitude here and there but I can handle it."
"Handle it? In what way?" He asked.
"I either ignore it or punishment." He said
Knox side eye the camera. "I forgot you be on that fifty shades of grey shit." He said making Royce laugh.
"Chill, I wouldn't even call it that." He said.
Knox sucked his teeth. "Whatever N-" he was cut off by the sound of glass breaking and screaming. He deeply sighed hearing Amber yelling at someone. "Somebody need to train these bitches. Hold on." He hung up.
Kingsley took a sip of her champagne before locking eyes with Royce. She quickly looked away and widen her eyes. "What?" He asked.
"Why are you staring at me like that?" She asked.
"My bad I didn't realize I was staring." He said. "You have beautiful features. I didn't notice that before until now."
She side eye him. "Why you complementing me all of a sudden?" She said.
"I just felt the need to say that." He said.
"Oh... well thank you." She said with a smile. Royce nodded his head. He realized that was his first time seeing her genuinely smile.
His train of thought was cut off by his friends making their way towards the tables. They all greeted each other before sitting down.
"Taz and Rell y'all know Kingsley I don't really have to introduce y'all to each other. This is my childhood friend Queen. This is Beverly Taz's Fiancé. This is Fallen, Rell's girl." Royce spoke.
"Nice too meet you- I love your eyes." Queen compliments.
"Queen don't be a pervert. I'm sure Kingsley don't swing that way." Taz joked making them laugh.
"I would curse you out but this is a classy restaurant and I don't want to get kicked out." She told him. "Bev please sew his lips together."
"You sew?" Kingsley asked.
Beverly shook her head before speaking. "No, I am a surgeon. Don't mind them they always insult each other." She said.
Kingsley chuckled. "So what do yo do?" Fallen asked Kingsley.
"She works for me." Royce spoke for her.
"Oh so you're one of those 'dancers'." She said Rell grabbed her hand and squeezed it a little, signaling for her to stop.
Kingsley looked at Royce with a confused expression. The waiter came just in time before things got even weirder. He took everyone's order and poured everyone champagne before leaving.
"So I hear a southern accent Kingsley, where are you from?" Queen asked.
"Dallas, Texas." She smiled.
"Dallas Texas." Queen playfully mimicked her accent. "They wasn't lying when they said Texas have some fine women-"
"Alright Queen." Royce said shaking his head. Kingsley giggled as Queen shrugged her shoulders
"I've never been to Texas as much as I travel." Beverly chuckled. "I bet it's so sunny and hot. Probably fun too."
"Not really, it's not really much to do." Fallen sipped champagne.
"You good?" Kingsley asked her.
"Me?" She asked. Kingsley nodded her head. "Oh yea I'm fine why?"
"Just asking." Kingsley shrugged as it went silent. Everyone looked back and forth between each other as Kingsley and Fallen gave fake smiles to each other.
"Well... one day I'll like for you to show me around in Texas." Beverly spoke.
"Sure, that's if I ever go back." She fake smiled at Royce.
"I feel like there is a lot of tension going on." Queen spoke shaking her head. "Where the food at because everyone seem so grumpy."
"I'm not grumpy." Fallen said.
"Girl it seem like it." Beverly chuckled along with Queen.
Kingsley sat back in her chair sipping on her champagne only speaking if she was being spoken too. Royce noticed her mood changed. He didn't bring it nor ask her about.
Later that night, Kingsley and Royce decided to go back to the house for the night. Kingsley kicked off her heel and sat down on the sofa. Royce tossed his phone keys on the table before going upstairs.
Kingsley sat there rubbing her feet due to the heels. "Kingsley." Chef David called. She turned and looked his way and smile. Chef David was an older man that was in his late 50's. He's been cooking for Royce for years now.
"Hey David. What are you doing?" She asked.
"Getting ready to leave. How was your night?" He asked.
"It was ok." She said. "How was yours?"
"I can't complain. I brought some groceries you guys. I know Royce doesn't like it when I buy stuff for him but I plan on cooking a special meal for you guys tomorrow night. I want you to try it." He said.
"Sure I'm willing too. I like to eat." She said making him laugh.
"Alright you have a good night." He said heading over to the elevator.
"You too, make it home safe." She said as the elevator doors opened for him.
Once Chef David left it became silent. She sat there rubbing her feet and thinking about the dinner. She wonder what was Fallen's problem.
She brushed it off and snapped out her train of thoughts. Royce phone started to ring. She got up and rushed over to the table of the elevator.
She sucked her teeth read the caller ID. She quickly answered the phone and puts it to her ear. "What's up Knot." She chuckled.
"Aye- where Royce at?" He asked.
"I don't know somewhere upstairs why?" She asked.
"I was calling to tell him another fight just happened with Naomi and Amber. Man after you left these girls been on some shit." He said.
"Well look at who starting the problem... Amber. Why were they fighting?" She asked.
"The shared a stage tonight and when it came to splitting the money they had different ways of doing. So Amber got upset and took everything so Naomi wanted to fight and they just fought." He said. "Another thing when you dancing, don't share a stage."
Kingsley shook her head. "Well you still wanted to talk to him?" She asked.
"Nah just relay the message for me. These young men stressing me out low key." He said. "Oh and bring me back a New York shirt or a souvenir." She chuckled.
"I'll try." She said before they hung up the phone. She swiped to the camera and held the phone up to at a good angle. "My skin looked good in the camera."
She snapped a picture before going upstairs to his room. She knocked on the doors and waited for him to open the door.
She heard his footsteps walking towards the door before it swung open. He stood there with a black towel around his waist with water droplets all over his body. He opened the door wider for her to walk in. "I just came to give you your phone. Knox called." She awkwardly walks in the room.
"What he say?" He asked.
"Noami and Amber got into a fight about splitting money." She said. "Might have to call him for the full detail."
He nodded his head tossing his phone on the bed. He walked back in the bathroom. He finished drying off and puts on his sweat pants. "I got a question." He said.
"Yea?" She asked.
"What were you and Asia doing in Miami?" He asked before coming out the bathroom putting on his sweat pants.
"We both wanted to go on a vacation." She said. "Funny how that changed my life."
"How was your life before you came to Miami?" He asked sitting on on his bed.
She shrugged her shoulders. "What do you mean?" He mimicked her shoulder movement.
"Exactly what I mean.." She shrugged her shoulders.
"Friends, job, school boyfriend." He asked.
"Asia was my only friend. I worked at a clinic and I didn't have a boyfriend." She said.
"Schools?" He asked. She sucked her teeth. "What? I'm just trying to know about you."
"You do this with all the girls in the house?" She asked.
"Yes, I like to know everything about everybody. It helps me understand all of you." He said. "Tell me more about you and go into detail."
"Well I can't because you put me on the spot." She grabbed the door knob about to leave the room but he stopped her.
"I'm serious." He said. "I'm invested to know."
"What do you want to know." She walked towards his bed.
"You can start off with what you like to do?" He asked.
She huffed before speaking. "I like to relax and be at peace. I like to read nonfiction books. Growing up I always kept a book in my hands. I was one of them kids that'll read while my teacher teaching." She said. "That's basically it. There's nothing else."
"You still ain't answer my question." He said. "Why you came to Miami?
"I did. What you want me to say?" She asked. "Me and Asia were on a vacation."
"Vacation from what?" He asked. She stared at him then placed her hands on her hips. He mocks her making her chuckle.
"Asia decided we should go on vacation because she couldn't stand to see me down about my ex." She said.
"Who's your ex?" He asked.
She chuckled. "Who are you? The FBI?" She asked.
"Just keep going?" He pushed the pillows against the headboard making space for her to sit down.
"I'm not telling you his name but he cheated on me and left me. I was so I love with him and I couldn't accept the fact he left me. I would call and text him and beg him to come back to me." She cringe.
"He was your first love or something?" He asked.
"No, everything was so genuine at the beginning of our relationship I just couldn't believe he did me like that. Four year was gone down the drain." She said. "Then I moved out his place and with Asia." She shakes her head.
"You have a big family?" He asked.
"Nope. Just me and my mom." She said. "You have a big family? You asking so many questions about me I wanna talk about you."
"A very large family." He chuckled. "But do you have a good relationship with you mom?"
He watch her rub her hands on her legs. She looked up as if the answer was on the ceiling. "My m-" she huffed before dropping her head.
He moved her hair seeing tears rolling down her face. "You don't got to talk about it if you don't want too." He said.
She lifted her head and wiped her face. She stood up and walked out his room.
