Royce Later on that week

Kingsley swung her feet sitting at the island watching Chef make her breakfast. He stirred a pot of grits before turning around to speak. "You know, I don't think you would end up living here." He said. "It's kinda nice to see another face beside Royce."

She giggled. "Don't be messy." She told him. "How you even start cooking for him?"

"I've known Royce since he was a youngster." He said. "I lived down the block from his mother. Royce and his friend were always running and playing on the streets. My wife at the time loved to take care of the neighborhood kids."

"Seems like Royce takes care of everyone that took care of him." She said. Chef nodded his head.

"Oh yes he does. My wife was a baker, and I always made the meals. Every once in a while my wife would have Royce and his friend to come over and eat cake, pie, cookies anything my wife baked they would eat it."

"A piece of cake doesn't sound too bad right now." She said making him laugh.

He sighed deeply. "It doesn't actually. I wish I could ask my wife to bake me one more cake." He shook his head before turning off the stove. "She passed a couple years ago. She wasn't sick, she was healthy. God called her home."

"I'm sorry to hear that." She frowned. She instantly started to feel bad for Chef. "Do you live alone?"

"Sometimes, but I have my Granddaughter who comes by every weekend. She is a total mess you hear me." He said as they laugh. "She's about 19 years old and loves to get on my nerves."

"She just loves you, that's all." She smiled watching him grab plates to fix her breakfast.

"Yea. I enjoy every moment. You never know when it's your last." He said. Kingsley nodded her head.

They both stopped in their tracks hearing the elevator ding. They looked back to see the elevator doors opening. Royce stepped off the elevator with Taz and Rell.

"Ouu what you cooking?" Rell rubbed his hands together.

"This is for Kingsley." Chef places a plate on front of her. The guys stared at her plate as if they were starving. She smiled grabbing her syrup to pour over her French toast.

"So you just cooked for her?" Royce asked. Chef nodded his head. "So it ain't nothing left?"

"Did you just hear what I said? Only for Kingsley."

"Kingsley, you know we always been cool." Rell sat next to her. She immediately guarded her plate. "Let me get that piece right there. You don't want it." He went to reach for a sausage link.

"Uh uh." She moved his hand.

"That's fucked up." Taz said. "You knew we was coming back."

"Shouldn't have left." He shrugged.

"Damn Chef, I was hungry too." Royce said snatching a sausage link off her plate. She looked at him then rolled her eyes. "My groceries." He responded.

"That piece." Rell pointed to her French toast.

"Y'all acting like yall haven't ate in days." She moved over a seat with her plate. "

"You shouldn't act like that." Rell tossed the napkin at her. "Non-sharing ass."

"Here you go." Chef slid a glass of orange juice next to her.

"Thank you." She smiled.

Royce sucked his teeth. "I'm not even going to lie I'm a little jealous." He fold his arms. "I'm not your favorite no more unc?"

"I don't know what you're talking about." He said making Kingsley laugh.

"Whatever man." Royce shakes his head before standing over Kingsley. He spreads out pictures on the counter. It was pictures of her, Justin, Queen and Beverly from the night club.

"What?" She asked staring at the pictures.

"You don't see the dude you was talking to in these pictures?" He asked. She shook her head no.

She examined the picture again before grabbing one of the pictures of her standing by the bathroom. "This is him but you can't see his face."

"He ain't tell you his name or anything." Taz asked. She shook her head. "Queen said she ain't see nobody."

"Yea she was in the bathroom. He left before she came out. When I told her we immediately left since she thought it was you guys having someone watching us."

"Do you remember how he look?" Rell asked.

"A little, he was kinda the same height as Knox and dark skin." She said.

"Yall have to stay safe out here. Niggas is weird these days." Rell said.

"Hell yea, before my lady go out I make sure she got her 22 in her purse. I'll be damn if niggas try my lady and I'm not around to protect her." Taz shakes his head.

Royce nodded his head. "You ever had a gun?" He asked.

She shook her head. "Nah but I can fight that's all that matters." She smiled.

"Tuh." Rell chuckled. "It's so funny when a women think she can whoop a man."

She tilted her head at him and frowned. "But I have..." Her mind instantly went to her ex boyfriend, Camden.

Rell sucked his teeth and side eye her. "I don't believe that." He said.

She shrugged her shoulders. "You don't gotta believe me." She said. It was very true, between her and Camden they did get physical the last time they were together.

Nobody actually won, but in Kingsley mind she strongly believes that she whooped his ass. She turned around and continued to finish eating as her mind drifted off to the flashbacks of her and Camden.

-

Kingsley plotted down on the sofa huffing as she grabbed her phone. Camden followed her into the living room still yelling at her. "And you followed me in here after I just told you I was done with the conversation." She rolled her eyes.

"Because you rather listen to Asia bitch ass lies! That bitch is lying too you! I haven't even been with nobody bruh!" He stood in front of her.

"I don't care get out my face." She told her using her phone to distract herself. "I don't wanna talk no more."

He sucked his teeth. "This the same person that always want me to communicate and open up but when I do you don't wanna talk and you go mute." He said watching her type and scroll on her phone. "You done talking?"

She ignored him. He stared back at her. He immediately snatched her phone and threw against the wall. She gasped seeing her phone hit the wall and shatter also causing a hole in the wall.

"You done talking now?" He asked as she got up.

"Get out my house." She said. "Like for real." She took a deep breath. "You just put a hole in my walls!"

"Fuck your walls! Ion give a fuck about this damn apartment!" He yelled pointing his finger in her face.

"Get out my face." She pushed his hand down.

"Or what?" He challenged her. They stared each other down. Kingsley nose flared up feeling her anxiety and adrenaline rising. "Stop playing with me bruh. I told you that bitch is lying and yo dumb ass up here trying to believe her. Have a fucking brain of your own and think for yourself. Always listening to your fucking friends." He roughly mushed her head.

Kingsley was the first to swing on him. She wasn't surprised he would swing back. He tried to grab her neck but her fist kept connecting to his face. She ended up busting his nose and lip.

Camden used all his strength to slang her body down to the floor. She got up with a quickness and started hitting him again. He also swing back knocking her in the face a few times before he pushes her to down again. "Alright bruh you got it." He held out his arms to forcing space between them seeing her get back up again.

"You got me fucked up!" She yelled trying to continue to fight him but he held his arm up against her to keep distance.

After realizing she wouldn't stop hitting him, he balled up his fist and swung it clean across her face. "Told yo ass you had it! You wanna keep going let's go!"

Kingsley immediately grabbed the vase from the coffee table and swung it across his head. Her and Camden tussled with each other for about 3 minutes before they let each other go.

Kingsley couldn't help but to break down in tears. She hugged and puffed trying to catch her breath. "We done." Camden said. "You do you, I'm done with this shit."

"Bye! Get the fuck out and don't come back when them other bitches don't want shit to do with you!" She picked up a candle and threw it towards him but missed. "Fuck out my shit! Get all your shit and leave!"

"Kingsley fuck you." He said wiping his face before walking away.
