Cataleya Valentina Velez:
'Two weeks.' Neveah states before she closes the bedroom door behind her, 'The last time we talked about escaping was two weeks ago and you still haven't told me about your plan.'
She's right. I haven't exactly told her anything about my plan, because it needs to say a secret. The less she knows, the better.
'Who says there is a plan?' I ask, raising an eyebrow at my best friend. If we are going to have this conversation, we have to make sure we're alone.
She turns towards me and tilts her head a little, she doesn't believe me at all. 'You're telling me you've given up on trying to get the fuck out of here?' Nope...
I figured out the perfect plan. The only problem is that I haven't found a perfect time yet.
'Are you keeping something from me?' I walk towards her and hug her tightly. 'Later.' I whisper into her ear. Her eyes widen and I can't stop smiling.
If all of this turns out to work, we'll be out soon enough. 'Okay, but why can't you tell me now?'
Three... Two... One... The door swings open and Leon stumbles inside, he tends to go everywhere Neveah goes if he has the time. 'That's why.'
'That's why what, Leya?' Leon jumps onto the bed, smiling at Neveah like the creep he is. She rolls her eyes and walks into the bathroom, shutting the door behind her.
I feel kind of sorry for Leonardo. Ever since they took us in, scratch that, ever since they threaten to kill us if we even thought about leaving, he's been waiting for her. He's been kissing her ass like a little dog, following her every move, waiting for her to finally start talking to him again, and all she does is ignore him.
"He needs to be honest." She said the last time we talked about them. I don't get how she wants him to be honest if she doesn't even let him talk to her, but it's better this way. It will be easier for us to get the fuck out of here if she doesn't have feelings for him anymore.
'What are you doing here Leon?' I ask, even though it's obvious. He's here to stare at Neveah again. 'No need to be so rude Cataleya.' He sits up straight, rolling his eyes at me.
For the past few days, he's been way nicer to me than I expected him to be. If it wasn't for the fact that he won't let us go either, we actually could've been great buddies.
'I just wanted to spend some time with my new best friend!' He exclaims, obviously lying. He can barely look me in the eyes as he tries to convince me that I'm the reason he came to our room.
I fold my arms in front of my chest and raise an eyebrow at him. 'Now tell me the real reason?'
'Well, if you want me to be honest.' He mumbles, before walking over to Neveah's side of the closet. He opens the drawers and smiles at whatever he's looking at. 'Stop that!'
His eyes shoot towards me and he raises his hands in the air, as a sign of surrender.
'Nothing I haven't seen before, but anyway.' Neveah gets out of the bathroom and looks at me as if Leon doesn't even exist. 'There you are.'
'You literally saw her run in there.' He rolls his eyes at my remark and stares at Neveah again. He's so interested in her, it's scary.
'Anyways, I got tired of Adriano fucking that girl he picked off the street,' Estelle... Rio literally picked her up from the side of the road on our way home, 'It's as if he wants to fill every hole in her body if you know what I mean.'
All the food I ate today, slowly rises back up. I can barely think about anyone wanting to do that with him, but then again. Not everyone knows what type of person he actually is.
'Oh and because dinner is almost ready of course.' He jokes, before walking towards the door again. 'I'm not hungry anymore.' 'You sure, we're eating lasagna again?' Leon walks through the door and leaves it open, wide enough so we can watch him walk away. He had me at lasagna!
I rush out of the room, pulling Neveah with me. She's laughing at my excitement, but she also loves the lasagna from this place.
No matter how hard I try, every dish I've eaten with the Curzio's, has been delicious. They probably hire the best chefs in the world.
We enter the dining room, as usual, and notice the blond girl, Estelle, sitting next to Rio. At the exact place, Marco is normally seated.
'Bonjour filles.' I look at Neveah who smiles at her and takes a seat as far away from Leon as possible. Leon takes a seat next to Rio, they probably have to talk about a lot of things.
Last night, at dinner, they had a heated conversation about something going wrong in Spain.
'Where are the others?' I ask curiously. This might be one of the last meals we have here, so I wanted to take it all in for one last time. And since normally everyone is already seated except for us, I wonder where they all are.
I take a seat across from Neveah and smile at Estelle. She's way too pretty to go with someone as horrible as Rio, but she doesn't know. I think...
'Why do you care?' Rio asks with his intimidating voice filling the room. I want to roll my eyes, but that would mean he wins. He does these things on purpose, to annoy me.
'Can't I ask about my friends?' He raises an eyebrow at me. 'Friends?' I nod and pour myself some water to drink. 'Yes, friends' I state, taking a sip of the ice-cold water.
'I consider Celine and Brandon my friends.' He rolls his eyes at me before chugging down his scotch.
'Celine is out on a date and Brandon left for Milan. He had to get some clothes for-' Leon stops and looks at Rio for a second, afraid he might say too much, 'Something coming up.' Oh...
'And at what time might Celine get back?' Neveah asks before pouring herself a drink. She doesn't go for water but instead pours herself some wine.
'Late. She said she wanted to get railed or something.' Neveah almost spits out her drink about Leon's answer and I roll my eyes at his bluntness. That man has no limits.
'Why do you care, Miss Velez?' I look at Rio and stare into his deep eyes for a second. Okay, maybe I do. Maybe I get why Estelle lets him do the things he does. It's the eyes. They are absolutely stunning and have this captivating pull towards him. 'I was just curious.'
The servants give us all a delicious plate of lasagna and we eat it in total silence. As soon as Rio's done, he leaves the room again. Leon stays since he wants to stare at Neveah a little longer.
'Take a picture Tiago.' They look at each other, desire dripping off of Leon's eyes, 'It'll last longer. Idiot.' She gets up, grabbing my arm, and pulls me behind her, back to our room.
I lock the door behind me and pull her into the bathroom, locking that door as well. She looks at me weirdly and watches as I turn on the sink, shower, and blowdryer all at once.
'Okay listen.' She nods and gets closer, so she can hear me properly. 'Tonight we're escaping.' I whisper and she squeals out of excitement. I smile and take a seat on the window frame. 'How?'
'I've been keeping track of everyone's sleeping schedules for the past two weeks.' She nods and climbs onto the counter and looks at me. 'They both fall asleep around midnight, we just need to make sure they won't notice, at least until we're in one of the cars.'
'And how do you expect to get the car keys?' I smile and walk towards the drawer underneath her. Grabbing the car keys I stole earlier today.
'Thanks to my extra break time.' Her eyes widen and she jumps into my arm. 'Finally!' I press my hand against her mouth, trying to keep her down and smile. 'Since Brandon and Celine aren't here tonight, we have fewer eyes watching us.'
'Thank god.' She sighs before hugging me again. I get that she's happy, but we need to actually get out of here for me to be as excited as she is right now.
'We're getting the fuck out of here tonight. So grab the essentials.' She nods and runs back to the room, but stops in her tracks since someone is in there. 'Manuella, how long have you been standing here?'
I walk into the room and smile at the older lady. Please tell me she didn't hear us. 'Master Curzio wanted to speak with you.' She chimes, pointing at me, before smiling at the both of us again. 'Oh, okay. I'll be there in a few.'
She nods before heading to the door again, closing it on her way out. Neveah sighs deeply and starts packing some clothes into a backpack we bought a few days ago.
I just hope this will work.
'What do you think Rio wants from you?' I follow her example and grab some underwear, a few shirts, pants, and socks. 'I have no idea.'
After packing the few clothes we're taking with us, I head towards Rio's office. The last thing we need is for him to be up our asses.
I knock on the door and wait for him to answer, but all I hear are muffled moans. Oh god... If he's fucking her in there, knowing that I could barge in any second, he's even more disgusting than I thought.
'Come in- fuck.' Hell no. I wait for them to stop, but they don't. They keep doing whatever it is they're doing. 'I said, come in.' Rio demands.
I can already see the twitch in his jaw because of his annoyance. Against my will, I open the door, lowering my eyes to the gorgeous-looking dark wood.
'Ah, Miss Velez.' He groans, before hitting something. More like someone. I hear movement and soon the blond girl, Estelle, runs past me. I look up and meet Rio's eyes. Sweat rolls down his face, making me wonder what the hell they were doing in here. Do I even want to know?
'You wanted to see me?' He nods, pointing at the seat in front of him. I slowly walk towards the seat, inspecting it before I take a seat. 'It's about your mother. She keeps wanting to video chat with you.'
God... I thought he was onto us or something... Of course, my mom wants to see me. I haven't seen her in three weeks, which is a long fucking time since I used to talk to her almost every night.
Rio let me talk to her once. Just once in the three weeks, we've been with them. He was standing right beside me, warning me with his eyes. If I said one wrong thing, he would kill her and later me. Or even if she suspected anything both of us would be dead.
'Well, what did you expect? She hasn't seen me in three weeks.' He rolls his eyes and takes a sip of his whiskey. Again with the drinking.. 'Tomorrow you'll video chat with her.' What?
'You'll tell her that you're happy with-' He stops, trying to come up with a story she might believe, 'With Marco. I'll make sure he's here and everything will seem normal.' 'She won't believe it.' I state, knowing my mom, she won't believe it if it's not true. She knows me way too good for that shit. Plus... We won't be here tomorrow!
'Then make her believe,' He gets up, makes his way to me, and stops right in front of me. He swiftly turns my chair so that I have to face him and stoops down a little, 'Because you know what will happen if you don't, right?'
His face is just inches from mine, making me stop breathing for a second. He reeks of alcohol, yet pulls off looking absolutely stunning from up close. His eyes are full of vibrant shades of green, brown, and gold. And his lips, god, shaped into the most perfect full form to ever exist.
'Right, Miss Velez?' I nod, trying to swallow the lump in my throat. 'Yes.'
His perfect lips curl up into a grin and he steps back a little. He's definitely drunk. He can barely stand straight. I just hope he stays drunk so that we have more time to escape this place.
'That was it?' He nods again, stumbling towards the liquor cabinet in his office. 'Okay.' I get up and make my way back to our room, hearing Rio mumbling something under his breath behind me.
'And?' Neveah asks as soon as I enter our bedroom, 'Something he wanted to do tomorrow.' She smiles and jumps on the bed. 'We won't be here tomorrow.' Neveah grins to herself and I nod.
'So now what?' I look at the digital clock on the right side of our bed and sigh. 'Now we wait.'
The digits slowly change into one in the morning, both of us are still full of energy. Probably the adrenaline about the fact that we're getting out of here.
'Do you think they're asleep?' She whispers and I simply nod. There is no way Leon's still awake. I'm not sure about Rio, but Leon was exhausted after dinner and went straight to his room.
'We should go.' She nods and follows me to the hall. We look around every corner, keeping our eyes out for anything sketchy. Slowly but silently we walk towards the entrance hall, turning at every sound we hear.
The door is right in front of us, open with no obstacles near us. This is too easy? I don't trust it one bit. There is no way that escaping can be this easy. We could've done this weeks ago.
'Come on.' I pull Neveah with me since she's staring at the chandelier one more time. I grasp for the door and swing it open widely, feeling the cold night air brush against my skin. We're almost there...
'Take another step and I'll shoot.' I stop and look around, seeing nothing but darkness outside. As soon as the person steps into the light, I gasp for air. 'Marco?' They never said anything about him...
He's pointing a gun our way with a wide grin on his face. 'And here I thought you would've learned by now.' Shit.
I don't need to turn around to know that Rio is standing in the entrance hall. He knew... 'Look at me when I'm talking to you.'
Neveah and I slowly turn around, looking at the man in front of us. Marco steps inside, closing the door behind him.
'I warned you, Miss Velez.' Rio has this huge grin plastered on his face. He's enjoying this. He's enjoying seeing us suffer under his stupid rules. 'Go to hell!' Neveah shouts but it's no use. 'Oh North, this is hell.'
Marco presses the end of his gun in my back, nudging me to walk forward. 'What is going on?!' Estelle has no shirt on and runs into the hall. Her titties are out for the world to see and she doesn't even seem fazed at all.
'Follow me.' Rio strides towards the dining room, opening the doors widely, and takes a seat in his chair. He folds his hands on the table and sighs deeply.
'Now explain what you were trying to do here.' His eyes pierce through me and I freeze. I know this man can be dangerous, even though I've never actually seen him kill anyone, just by the tone of his voice. The way he says certain things.
'It was my idea.' Neveah lies, her voice trembling with fear. 'Mierda' He growls, looking her dead in the eyes. He's angrier than usual, but it's not because of us. He's just angry because of everything that's been going wrong the past few days.
'After every fucking thing we've given you, you decide to do something like this?' All we do is gulp, there are no words for what we're feeling now. The only thing coming close is fear.
Fear for not only ourselves but the people we care about as well.
'Parlare!' This is the first time Rio has ever shouted at us. At me. I always thought he was scary, but this, this is a totally new level of fear. 'Dannazione.'
'Rio bébé.' Estelle, I don't fucking know why she's still not wearing a shirt, walks in and practically takes a seat on his lap. 'Get off.' The blond girl stays put and rubs her long nails down his chest.
He takes a deep breath and seems to actually calm down. I don't know how she did it, but I'll thank her for it when all of this is over.
'There is no need for you to be so angry all the time.' Her accent is clear, just like Louis's, and she slowly presses her lips against his. 'Close the door, Marco.' Marco nods, and quickly walks to the door, closing it without making a single sound. No...
The fact that I actually started liking Marco. He's just as bad as the fucking Curzio's.
As soon as the door clicks behind us, Rio gets up, dropping Estelle to the ground, and pulls her back up by her hair. She starts screaming, begging him to let her go, but he simply stares at us.
'Rio, what are you-' I'm cut off by his sudden movement.
'You think I won't do it?' He grabs a gun, the one he apparently always has in his waistband, and points it at her temple. 'No!' She screams and he smacks her across the face. The same sound I heard earlier fills the room.
'Shut the fuck up you whore.' Tears stream down Estelle's face and she closes her eyes tightly as if that will help with anything. He won't actually shoot her right?
'I told you to get the fuck off me, right?' She nods, opening her eyes just a little so she can look at him. 'I'm sorry- Please I beg- Don't kill me-' I look at Neveah who doesn't seem fazed at all. She looks at this as if this is something normal. As if she has seen this daily.
'Shut the fuck up!' He barked, pressing the gun harder against her head. 'Rio don't-' His eyes shoot my way and a smile forms on his face. 'This one's on you.'
Without hesitation, he pulls the trigger, sending a loud bang through the room as the bullet flies through her skull. Blood splatters around the room and her lifeless body drops to the ground.
I scream at the top of my lungs and Neveah and I reach for the door, but instead of going through it, someone presses me against it. Hard. I notice Neveah being held in Marco's arms.
In a swift motion, I am turned around, facing a fucking psychopath. 'Let go of me!' He smiles and only tightens his grip.
Out of nowhere, he grabs a piece of fabric, wiping the bloodstains from my face.
'Take a seat before I shoot Neveah.' He points his gun at her, with his eyes not breaking from mine. I immediately do as he asks, afraid that he will shoot her if I don't. 'And call your fucking mother.'
'You can't hurt her, Leon will kill you.' His smile only widens, I've never seen him enjoy anything as much as this. 'Do I look like I fucking care?'
'But-' 'Do. It.' I nod, type in my mom's number on the laptop in front of me, and hit the dial button. 'You better sell her the story, Miss Velez. Or your best friend will pay the price.' I didn't even notice Rio was standing on the other side of the table, away from the camera.
He presses his gun against Neveah's temple, his fingers eager to pull the trigger again, and smiles at me. 'Make her stop calling.' I feel Marco walking up behind me, and see him on the screen.
He gently puts his hands on my shoulder and leans down just enough to whisper something in my ear. 'Just do as he says.' I nod and wipe away the falling tears, hoping that my mom will buy the fucking story.
I force a smile on my face when she finally picks up. 'Finally! How are you hija?' Oh god... I didn't think I would break at the sound of her voice. I can barely keep in the tears from the murder I just witnessed, but hearing my mom again, shit that's something else.
'Hey, mom!' I try to sound as happy as possible. 'Who is that behind you?' She asks, curious as to who the handsome boy behind me is. 'This is Marco,' I take a deep breath and look at Neveah who has tears streaming down her face, 'He's my boyfriend.'
'Boyfriend?! Since when do you have a boyfriend.' I smile since I'm unable to talk about it. 'Nice to meet you, ma'am. See Cataleya is a little tired from working, but we met at work in the hotel.' Marco explains. God, he's good at lying...
She nods and smiles at me. 'Oh, okay. Have you been taking care of my daughter?' Her tone makes it clear. She doesn't trust it at all. Shit.. 'He has. He's the best.' I grab his hand and kiss the bridge of it, cringing at myself for even touching him in the first place.
'Well, I'm happy for you! How is Neveah?' Wait... She's believing this stupid story? 'Well-' 'Neveah!?' Leon's voice beams through the door, but it's locked. Oh god.. 'What was that?'
Rio rolls his eyes and pulls Neveah's head back, making her wince a little. 'Mom, I have to go. I won't be able to talk for a while. Busy with work and all.' I quickly say, trying to end the conversation so that Rio won't shoot my best friend and all.
'Wait but-' Rio slowly closes the laptop a little, getting impatient by the fact that I won't say goodbye to my mom. 'I love you, mom!' 'I love y-' Done. Finished. Probably the last time I'll get the chance to talk to my mom since she seemed to believe all of the shit I just said.
The door bursts open and Leon steps in. He really broke the door huh? He looks around the room, staring at the dead body on the floor for a second, before focusing on the fact that Rio is pressing a gun against Neveah's head.
'What the actual fuck is going on!?' He shouts. I have never seen him this angry, he's about to fucking explode. 'These two,' Rio practically throws Neveah against the table and steps towards his drink as if nothing happened, 'Tried to escape, fratello.'
'What?' Leon doesn't believe a word coming from his cousin's mouth, but it's the truth. 'They tried to escape again. This is the price they have to pay.'
'Is that true?' Leon asks, grabbing Neveah towards him and forcing her to look at him. 'Is it?' She nods and looks deep into his eyes.
It takes a few seconds for Leon to process what she's trying to say, but he lets go of her and looks at Rio. 'Go to your room.'
'Tiago I-' 'Go to your room. Now.' Now Leon was also getting mad. His voice was deeper than ever and a rush of fear shot through me. 'Come on ladies.' Marco added, pulling me off the chair and nudging me towards the door. Asshole...
Neveah follows me through the door and we run to our room, shutting it behind us.
'We're fucked.'
