Doot :- Our Maharaj along with his 5 brothers defeated the nag and asur army lead by Takshak, who had the protection of Devraj Indra. After all the nags fled away, Indra dev ordered Vishwakarma to build the city of Indraprasth. It is the second most beautiful city on earth after Dwarika.

Bhism :- How is Maharaj of your kingdom ruling ?

Doot :- Mahamahim, although Maharaj have full authority, decisions are not taken by him alone, all the brothers have an assembly where it's done through votes. He is very kind and generous but very strict and non tolerant at the same time. There is no restriction based on caste in Indraprasth, all have the freedom to learn and practice for their dreams.

Bhism felt his chest widening with proud, he smirked looking at Shakuni, who clenched his fists, mentally cursing the old man.

Kunti :- When will be this held ?

Doot :- Rajmata, 4 days from now.

Gandhari :- Kunti, then we should hurry, all the gifts need to be packed, and other arrangements to be done.

Kunti :- Ok jiji, Doot, come and meet me before leaving, I wish to hear more details.

Drupad sat reading a letter with a smile when Srikhandini and Driystadyumna entered the chamber.

Srikhandini :- What happened pitashree, looking very happy.

Hidimba sat talking to the maids when Ghatotkach entered with a smile, carrying a letter.

Ghatotkach :- Mata do you know we are invited.

Hidimba :- Where putr and why are you so happy all of a sudden.

Ghatotkach :- Mata you heard the news of kingdom established by Tatshree and others.

Hidimba :- Yes putr but what about that.

Ghatotkach :- Mata a puja has been organised 4 days from now and Tatshree have invited us to attend it.

Hidimba :- Then we should hurry with the arrangements, we'll meet your pitashree after months.

Ghatotkach :- Ya sure, why late then, lets get to work now only.

Jhanvi sat by the mirror, combing her silky hair when Subhadra entered and crossed her hands seeing her elder sister.

Subhadra :- Jiji, you're not done yet, there Jeysth is waiting for you at the dining table.

Putting a pin at the end, she turned and smiled, both walked out.

Krishna rushed in the room where all members were having lunch.

Krishna :- Dau get ready, we have an invitation.

Rukmini :- What happened swami ? you look so excited.

Krishna :- The news is likewise priye, we have been invited to Indraprasth, by bhrata Karn and others to attend a puja.

Subhadra :- When will it be bhratashri ?

Krishna :- Subu 4 days from now, so I think we need to hurry.

Balram :- Oh so now they missed us, months after establishment of kingdom. Lets see the second most beautiful city.

Jhanvi was just sitting and listening to all the conversations, she tried to concentrate on food rather than talks.

Subhadra :- Who will be going bhrata ?

Krishna :- Me, Dau, you, Jhanvi, Rukmini and Revati bhabishree.

Jhanvi :- Why me bhrata ?

Balram :- Don't you want to meet everyone, it's been long since everyone gathered together.

Jhanvi :- (frowning a little) If you say, when we will start off.

Subhadra :- I am excited to meet Draupadi bhabishree.

Krishna :- I too miss my sakhi, also bhrata Karn and Parth.

Shivangi :- Mata, mata....

Radha :- (irritated) What happened ? Stop this drama now...

Shivangi :- And you should start the packing, we are invited to second most beautiful city of aryavarth.

Adhirath :- What do you mean ?

Shivangi :- Pitashree Jeysth sent us an invitation for a puja, he wants us to come there and stay for a few days. Wow, we'll stay in palace, I can't wait for it.

Radha :- Really ?

Shivangi :- (giving her the letter) See this. ----------------------------------------------------------- Karn sat on his bed, reading a book, curtains were down to prevent the dusty winds. Light entered through the small gaps in between, but afternoon sun couldn't stop the hustle in palace as decorations continued.

Suddenly someone snatched the book, he looked up to see Draupadi sitting there, folding her hands.

Karn :- Hey, give me the book please, I was about to finish.

Draupadi :- You're always engrossed in something or the other, don't even have a moment for your wife. Arya, why are you so unromantic ?

She got up and stood in front of mirror, removing her earrings. He wrapped his arms around her from behind.

Karn :- So what can I do for you, my wife.

Draupadi :- You don't need to do anything, just go and attend your meetings.

He slowly made her turn and look at him.

Karn :- You think I'm unromantic.

Draupadi :- Forget it, just do whatever you want.

Removing his grip, she was about to go but he held her wrist and pulled her closer so she landed on his muscular chest. Cupping her face, he slowly made her look up.

Karn :- I'm not being unromantic my dear wife, I just wanted to wait for sometime to know each other better before taking our life a step further.

Draupadi :- (looking away) So take your time, but let me go now.

His right hand snaked around her waist, pressing her even closer.

Karn :- But I think we've know each other enough and it's time for some fun.

Her head shot up towards him, before she could decipher anything, he had her trapped between him and wall. He nuzzled her right cheek with his nose before giving it a peck.

Karn :- Do you trust me Panchali ? I don't want you to regret it later, we have our whole life ahead.

Draupadi :- I trust you more than myself arya, I will never regret being with you, I will never regret giving myself to you.

Arjun and Sahdev ran around for decorations and arrangements, Bheem and Nakul were busy guiding the servants for kitchen stuff. Draupadi and Awantika were at the temple with priests helping them, while Karn and Yudhisthir were busy preparing for the arrival of guests. As time neared, excitement level kept on increasing.

First to arrive were Ghatotkach and Hidimba, Karn hugged him tightly and then blessed them both, Yudhisthir did the same.

Karn gestured a daasi to take them to meet Draupadi.

Next arrived the family from Hastinapur, chariots carried Kunti, Gandhari, Bhanumati, Bhism, Dhritarashtr, Vidur, Duryodhan, Dussasan and Shakuni.

Karn and Yudhisthir touched the feet of elders.

Bhism :- Ayushman bhava putron, I am glad to see you all well and happy.

Dhritrashtr :- Always stay blessed putron.

Gandhari :- I bless you putron to be happy and prosperous throughout your life.

Kunti was moved to tears as she hugged her sons, these few months seemed like eternity to her.

Karn :- Pranipat Mamashree, hope your journey went well without hindrance.

Shakuni :- Oh, no problem mere priye bhanje.

Karn :- Yudhisthir take them in and show our palace to everyone.

Yudhisthir :- Sure Jeysth, this way Pitamah.

They went away and Sahdev joined Karn.

Karn :- Sahdev you here, what about preparations, are they all done.

Sahdev :- Yul, everything seems done, minors are being supervised by bhrata Arjun.

Now arrived Drupad, Driystadyumn and Srikhandini.

Karn :- Welcome Pitashree we were waiting for you all, I hope your journey was peaceful.

Then he bent to take blessings.

Drupad :- Kalyan ho Putr, you all have proved your valour, this kingdom looks so beautiful even from far.



Karn :- Please come inside, Sahdev escort them towards the temple where Draupadi is.

Driystadyumn :- Can we see the palace first, it looks simply superb.

Karn :- Ya sure, Sahdev make sure it is done.

Srikhandini :- I want to help you all in the preparations.

Sahdev :- But jiji, everything is almost done, if you want you can give a hand at the temple, priests would still require some items or some help.

Srikhandini :- Its really exciting, I will surely help.

Again Karn stood there alone, his eyes were impatiently searching for his Radha maa.

Now arrived Krishna and his family. Karn greeted them all, and hugged his friend happily.

Krishna :- Bhrata Karn seems like you were waiting for us only.

Karn :- Ya, almost everyone have arrived and are waiting for you all.

Subhadra and Jhanvi came out from their palki along with Rukmini and Revati.

Subhadra :- Pranipat Maharaj.

Karn :- Pranipat Subhadra, Pranipat Jhan... vi.



His smiled vanished as he saw her. Jhanvi just noded, Karn frowned a little, seeing her upset but didn't show it on his face, Krishna just smiled at them.

Balram :- So Maharaj, will you take us all in or we'll have to wait.

Karn glanced at the deserted road, he was waiting for his family but they didn't arrive.

Krishna :- What happened Bhrata, will you not take us in.

Jhanvi saw the disappointment he was hiding and came to know the reason of it, she wanted to say but Karn gestured them to follow. All went in.

Meanwhile, a cart stopped at the palace gates, Adhirath and Radha came down along with Shon and Shivangi. They looked around but no one was seen. Adhirath kind of expected this, but Radha felt sad as her son was not there to welcome them, she could understand that he was now a king.

They were about to enter when she heard the voice of her son and smiled as she saw him running towards them, Karn immediately hugged his mother, Radha couldn't hold her tears as she embraced her beloved son.

Karn :- Sorry Radha maa, I got a little busy, I was waiting for you since morning, what took you so long ?

Radha :- I am here now putra, no need to worry.

He then touched his father's feet, and then hugged his siblings. Amrit wasn't here with them, Radha sighed and shook her head.

Shivangi :- Jeysth, will you not take us in.

Karn :- Oh sure come on, this way.

Karn took them to the palace and showed them around, he even made Shivangi and Shon dress in royal attire, then he took them to the temple where everyone was gathered. ----------------------------------------------------------- Puja started, Karn and Draupadi were sitting with the priest, other 5 around them along with Kunti.

Everyone was happily chatting except our evil trio who were lost in their own worlds.

Shakuni was impressed by the beauty of palace and city, all perfectly organised, he was pretty convinced that Pandavs will definitely do something to gain independence, now the real battle will begin.

Duryodhan was angry and jealous, he gave them Khandavprasth to starve to death, but instead they were loaded with jewels, he wanted his right back and will do anything for it. Once he becomes the king he'll expell these Pandavs from the kingdom.

Dussasan was looking at Draupadi with an evil smirk, eyes trying to penetrate through the red saree wrapped around her figure.

Krishna could sense their evil intensions and sighed.

Jhanvi frowned seeing Karn and Draupadi, all she wanted was to get this over with.

Arrangements were done perfectly, people too came there, wanting to have a look at the grand aarti being performed by their king and queen.

Priests and brahmins chanted the mantras in rythm, musicians showed their perfection with instruments, dancers kept everyone entertained.

Bheem and Sahdev dragged Karn to join and began dancing, soon they were joined by Nakul and Arjun, who pulled Yudhisthir along.

Kunti smiled proudly seeing all her sons together and happy. ----------------------------------------------------------- Whole day was spent chatting, fooling around, teasing, laughing and singing.

Now everyone was gathered at the hall for dinner with dasis serving. Kunti sat between Yudhisthir and Arjun, Bheem sat with Gandhari and Balram, Draupadi sat with Awantika and Krishna, Subhadra sat opposite to Arjun with Rukmini and Srikhandini, Bhism sat with Drupad and Sahdev while Karn sat with his Radha maa and Driystadyumn.

Krishna :- Bhrata Karn, the function was grand, it can be seen that a lot of work had been put up.

Karn :- It was not me alone, all the brothers helped, especially Arjun and Draupadi.

Subhadra looked at Arjun shyly, who smiled. Nakul fake coughed to bring them to reality, Arjun glared at him while rest chuckled. Karn looked at Jhanvi who rolled her eyes.

Draupadi :- Mata, you should be ready for preparations for another marriage.

Gandhari :- Marriage ? Whose marriage putri ?

Arjun :- Who else ? Our Nakul and Avni.

Nakul :- Wha.... What.... are you... saying... bhrata Arjun.

Draupadi :- Oho, bhrata Nakul, now don't behave like you're not having any idea what we're talking about, afterall, now you've officially proposed her.

She elbowed Awantika, who looked down, turning red.



Kunti :- What are you waiting for, Nakul ?

Nakul :- Bhrata Yudhisthir and bhrata Arjun are still left.

Sahdev :- Its okay bhrata Nakul, you can get married, bhrata Yudhisthir won't mind (glancing at Subhadra) but I don't know about rest.

Nakul groaned mentally while others laughed, Jhanvi sensed someone's gaze but her eyes roamed everywhere except on the person who frowned and looked down.

Dinner was over between lot of jokes and teasing, Krishna specially teased Karn and Draupadi a lot. It erked Jhanvi and she left the hall saying that she wanted to see the palace. ----------------------------------------------------------- After the dinner, everyone was roaming here and there to discover palace's majestic beauty.

Karn spotted Jhanvi near a balcony looking towards the city, no one else was with her so he decided to have a talk.

Karn :- Jhanvi.

She was lost in her own world when Karn's voice brought her to reality.



She wanted to just walk off, but Karn held her hand.

Karn :- Jhanvi just talk to me for once, why are you ignoring me.

Jhanvi :- When did I say that, at least you noticed something I thought I was the one being ignored.

Karn :- What do you mean Jhanvi, I.... never tried to ignore you.

Jhanvi :- Oh well, then I am mistaken when I think about last few months and not a single letter arrived.

Karn :- So you're angry that I wasn't able to send letters.

Jhanvi :- You weren't able or you didn't.

Karn :- You think I didn't, what made you think like that.

Jhanvi :- Now you are the Maharaj and married to most beautiful princess on earth, how can you have time to think of others.

She said these words and turned towards the balcony so that tears dosen't fall from her eyes.

Karn :- Do you think of me so low ?

Jhanvi :- What do you mean ?

Karn :- Do you think I don't think of you, that I don't have feelings, really, this is not Jhanvi whom I knew.

Jhanvi :- You are speaking like I am standing in front of Karn I knew.

Karn :- What did I do Jhanvi ?, you are angry for letters, I am sorry for that, I was too engrossed in the kingdom stuff that I didn't got any time even for myself, you know for these whole time we weren't even able to sit and eat together, the only thing that kept us together was that we were working for the same kingdom and lived in the same palace.

Jhanvi looked at him, there was a geniuneness in his eyes, she couldn't hold herself.

Jhanvi :- Then what was that happened at the swayamvar, you married the princess, did you even for once think of me, did you forget all that happened between us, did you forget all those moments we spent together. Do you know how I felt when I came to know that she was going to marry you, do you know how I felt when you got married to her, how could you....

She almost yelled and then looked away unable to speak as her voice had began choking.

He held her shoulders and showly turned her around to face him. She was still looking down, he cupped her face and made her look at him. Her eyes had started moistening, her lips were trembling minutely. He immediately sealed her lips with his, she too closed her eyes and reciprocated with same passion. Her lips were already soft due to trembling, he held her waist and pulled her closer, she wrapped her hands around his neck, running her fingers through his dark locs. A few tears left her eyes at the gesture. The kiss was sweet and soft, which said untold words. Both kissed each other to express what they felt. They pulled apart when their lungs began to burn for oxygen.

Jhanvi looked into his brown eyes which held the unshed tears. He cupped her face and wiped the tears with his thumb. She hugged him tightly which he returned.

Karn :- I love you Jhanvi, I genuinely missed you so much.

She broked the hug and looked at him with teary eyes.

Karn :- You think I don't feel the way you feel, I love you Jhanvi, It was all done by your brother. I can never understand what's going on inside his mind. He just told me to attend the swayamvar, I never knew he wanted me to participate. I went there because he told me that my brother Amrit will also be there. And you tell me Jhanvi, what would have I done there, they were ready to throw her into fire, how could I let that happen. If Arjun would have been there, I would have told him to do it but he wasen't.

Jhanvi :- Oh, I think it was the only way.

She looked everywhere except him. He held her chin and made her look at him. He understood she was not yet convinced.

Karn :- Ya, I said partial truth when I told you that I couldn't send you letters. I wanted to, but I was too afraid that you may not think of me the same way, first I wanted to clear all these misunderstandings. I thought that if I wrote a letter you may take it otherwise and think of me as....

She put her hand on his mouth to shut him up.

Jhanvi :- How can you think that I will think of you otherwise, I loved you from the beginning, I will never think of you otherwise. It's just I was scared that I thought you were trying to distance yourself from me, I was too scared to lose you.

She said while caressing his cheek. He smiled and joined thier foreheads, closing their eyes.

Karn :- Sorry Jhanvi, I am really sorry.

Jhanvi :- I am sorry too Karn.

Karn :- Don't worry, I will talk to Panchali about us and I'm sure she'll understand.

Jhanvi :- No, promise me you'll not do anything like this.

Karn :- But...

Jhanvi :- Just have faith in God Radhey, if we are destined to be together, we will. Nature itself will do the job.

Karn :- How can you be so sure ?

Jahnvi :- I trust my bhratashree.

Karn :- (chuckles) You and Madhav are unbelievable.

She smiled at him softly and both of them turned to look at the city which glowed under the night sky with different colours. ----------------------------------------------------------- Bhanu walked through the corridor, observing the designs carved on walls, when her foot slipped but before she could fall and hit her head on the railing, someone held her from behind. Smiling, she hugged her husband tightly.

Bhanu :- Arya, I was waiting for you only, where were you busy.

She felt him flinch.

'I'm... not your husband'

She heard a familiar voice that definitely wasen't her husband's. Immediately leaving him, she looked up but stumbled back seeing the person, this time a nearby candle stand scratched her right arm.

Karn pushed the candle stand away so she doesn't fall on it, hurting herself even more, then held her hand to make her stand. Bhanu kept looking at his face with an open mouth but couldn't say a word.



Karn :- You shouldn't walk in an empty corridor all alone.

She noded looking away and turned to go but didn't knew that her foot was twisted and stumbled back, falling on him. He helped her stand once again and looked around, searching for any maid.

Karn :- Where these maids dissapear when needed ?

Bhanu :- It's okay, I'm fine.

Karn :- (looking at her twisted foot) I don't think so (sighs) come, I'll help you till your chamber.

She held his hand to balance and began walking to her chamber.

He made her sit on the bed, then gave her an ice pack.

Karn :- I'll go and send some maids.

She noded looking down, he noticed the blood coming out of her right upper arm, removing his angvastra, he wrapped it around her cut.

Duryodhan stood, rooted to the floor, seeing the shadow of two people kissing on the other side of curtains.



Karn went away, leaving the couple seperated by a curtain showing them diffrences. ----------------------------------------------------------- Did you like the chapter ?
