HICCUPS POV.

Was he back at Berk? There was so much fire, so many screaming Vikings, so many... dead. "Uh guys, that mountain is moving! Why is that mountain moving?" Exclaimed Snotlout pointing towards what appeared to be a colossal lumbering mountain shuffling its way across the beach. "That's not a mountain Snotlout." Hiccup said breath taken at his first sight of it. "It's the queen." Astrid said, even she sounded taken aback by its stature. "You didn't say it was that big!" Snotlout yelled pulling back on his Monstrous Nightmares horns trying to get it to fly back into the fog. "I didn't know it was that big!" He said the memories when he had first seen it with Toothless flashing before his eyes. With... Toothless. Toothless. Hiccup blinked pulling himself out of his thoughts and back to reality.

"Here!" Hiccup heard a deep and gruff voice yell. A laugh followed it. "Oh no, here!" Hiccup scanned the beach for a moment before he saw them, his dad and Gobber running straight towards the queen. "What are they doing?" Asked Astrid. Hiccup looked at all the Vikings running down the beach. "There buying them time." He said. "But they'll be killed." Fishlegs yelled stating the obvious. Down on the beach his father plucked a spike from the rocky floor and hurled it up hitting the dragon in the side of the head drawing its attention. "Common, fight me!" Exclaimed Gobber drawing the dragons attention away from his father. "No, me!" Commanded his father. The queen reeled back on its hind legs and opened its mouth. "Go, go, go, go!" Hiccup yelled and they flew into combat the Nadder sending a deadly magnesium blast into the back on the queens neck disarming its attack.

"Ruff, Tuff watch your backs!" Hiccup said as they all swooped past the queens head. "Move Fighlegs!" He yelled as he noticed him and his Groncel falling behind in the group. "Look at us where on dragons." Exclaimed Tuffnut to the gathering crowd of Vikings below. "Where on dragons all of us." He continued to say. "Lout, Legs hang in it's blind spot makes some noice keep it confused. Ruff, Tuff find out if it has a shot limit, make it mad." He said and the twins looked at him excitedly. "That's my specialty." Ruffnut said. "Since when?" He brother interjected "everyone knows I'm more irritating see." He flipped his head of his dragon upside down and started making similar noises that a child might make.

"Just do what I told you, I'll be back as soon as I can." Hiccup said turning away from the others and angling the Nadder for the burning ships docked at the shore. His eyes scanned the burning ships for Toothless panic for his friend coursing through his veins. A desperate dragon cry drew his attention and he saw him, chained to one of the burning ships. "There." He said and he turned the Nadder for the ships. Hiccup got up and stood on the back of the Nadder and as they approached the ship holding Toothless. And when they were above it he jumped down onto the deck immediately being surrounded by hungry flames quickly devouring the ship around them. "Go help the others." Hiccup told Astrid but she hesitated. "Go." He said and he wasn't even sure if she could hear him over the crackling flames but she nodded and then left.

"Okay hold on, hold on." He said reassuringly pulling a muzzle from Toothless's head. Hiccup picked up a piece of medal beside him and wedged it under a piece of the chains around Toothless but it still wouldn't budge. He probably should have come up with a better plan for getting this off. "Snotlout do something!" He heard Fishlegs cry out and then a few moments later he heard Snotlout yell as if he was falling. The queens tail collided with the side of the ship knocking down the mast nearly crushing Hiccup but he was able to dodge by only a few inches. The light around Hiccup and Toothless dimmed and he looked up and saw the queens foot above him. Suddenly the floor that had been beneath his feet disappeared and he was encased in water. He heard Toothless muffled cry and he saw him sink to the bottom still chained up.

Hiccup dove for his dragon, going deeper and deeper until they both reached the sea floor. He pulled on the chains and pulled on the hinges trying frantically to free Toothless but it wouldn't work. Hiccup could feel him running out of breath and he couldn't see as well. Hiccup pulled on the chains a final time but without the energy his hands released and he floated at the bottom of the water for a moment. Until something wrapped around his waist pulling him up and onto the shore. It was his dad. "Dad?" He asked in a deep haze his head buzzing with pain. His father dove back down beneath the waves, but why? Hiccup laid there on his side, filling his lungs with air watching the waves crash onto the shore. There was commotion behind him, the sound of the queens thunderous steps and her friends yelling. Even though he couldn't quite make out what they were saying, he knew it couldn't be good. Hiccup brought himself to his feet almost loosing his balance and falling back down in the process but he managed.

The water in front of him exploded in a colossal burst of water, like a geyser erupting from the sea. From the center of the blast emerged a black scaled creature carrying in its front two legs his father. Toothless dropped his father on the shoreline informer of Hiccup and landed on a rock looking at the queen. Toothless after observing their target looked back at Hiccup with determination screw across his dragon features. "You got it bud." Hiccup said climbing up the rock and mounting Toothless clipping in both of his feet and fastening straps on Toothless's saddle. "Hiccup." Said his father desperately coming up next to him grabbing his arm. "I- I'm sorry, f- for everything." He stuttered out and if Hiccup had had time to burn he may have returned his fathers words with a wide smile. "Yeah me to." Hiccup replied. "You don't have to go up there." Said his father. Hiccup felt his emotions welling up inside him but he didn't show it externally. "We're Vikings." Hiccup said. "It's an occupational hazard." Hiccup remembered when he was younger years before he had left Berk. That was something his father had always told him. "I'm proud to call you my son." He said finally clasping both his hands on one of Hiccups before releasing him entirely.

Hiccup almost broke down right there. His father was letting him go. But it wasn't a bad thing, it was a great thing. His father was proud of him, and he was finally ready to let his son become a man. "Thanks Dad." Was all he could say without shedding any tears. Even though he had his helmet on he still wouldn't let himself do it. He turned away from his father and gripped Toothless's saddle. He didn't even have to give Toothless a signal before his friend took to the air. Hiccup smiled ear to ear beneath his helmet due to the feeling of being back with his friend. The feeling of the two of them finally being back in the air... together. Hiccup glanced back behind them observing their situation and like many times before he wish he hadn't. Astrid... her and her dragon were caught unable to move in what appeared to be a wing funnel due to the queen inhaling. "Toothless!" Hiccup said pointing towards Astrid and the queen and his friend understood. Toothless turned rapidly and Hiccup adjusted his fin to help his friend. Toothless emitted a familiar whistle as they shot through the air straight for the queen.

Toothless's entire body rattled and shook fiercely when he fired his plasma blast hitting the queen directly in the back of the neck breaking her pull of Astrids dragon letting it free but not Astrid has with the sheer force of the blast it catapulted her off her dragons sending her barreling through the air towards the stones below. It wasn't long before Toothless was already flying towards the falling Astrid. "Hiccup adjusted his tail rapidly between settings giving them speed. They zoomed over Astrid, "Did you get her?" He asked and Toothless looked down beneath him. Hiccup let out a sigh of relief when he heard a happy coo from his friend. Toothless slowed and placed Astrid on the ground before flying back up to the air. "That thing has wings." Hiccup noticed and a plan formed in his mind. "Okay, let's see if it can use them." He pulled back on his friends saddle and Toothless followed his lead leaning backwards the two of them quickly begging to loose altitude. Toothless fired another shot striking the queen in the back knocking it to the ground sending dust in every direction.

Hiccup looked back, his plan had worked. "You think that did it?" He asked rhetorically seeing the queen following closely behind him. For a dragon that big it sure could move. "Well she can fly." He told Toothless and he returned a growl. Toothless dove for the sea stacks below weaving between them. Hiccups thoughts flashed back to when he and Toothless had first been training and Hiccup had almost killed the both of them. Happier times... in a way. Sea stacks behind them exploded as the queen crashed through them but she wasn't loosing interest. Hiccup flew past the beach we're all the Vikings resided and he quickly counted his friends, his Dad, and Gobber and he felt relieved at their safety. All the Vikings below cheered for him even though for all they knew he was still just the Night Rider.

Hiccup looked up at the gloomy sky above. "Okay Toothless time to disappear." Hiccup said readjusting the tail. "Common bud!" He said and the two of them pulled up flying towards the clouds at almost a 90 degree angle. "Here it comes!" He warned and Toothless dashed to the side moments before a fiery blast sheared through the air beside him. The air around them was beginning to fill with clouds. He looked behind him and the image of the queen was becoming harder to make out. Hopefully this meant she couldn't see them either. And then... darkness. Hiccup could barely see and the queen from the sound of her beating wings stopped as well. She must had lost track of them in the clouds just like he had hoped. Toothless let out his Night Fury whistle and shot the queen again in the back shocking it causing it to fall a few feet out of the air before regaining control. Again, again, and again Toothless fired each time hitting the queen her never knowing which way they were going to be coming from. Again, again, and again. Each time who of Toothless's plasma blasts exploded against her spine the clouds erupted with purple, and the sound was almost like thunder.

Toothless truly was the offspring of lightning and death. Suddenly flames. They were everywhere. The clouds were filled with them. The queen shook her head violently spraying the flames in every possible direction. "Toothless watch out!" He warned but it was to late and for a temporary moment they had been engulfed in flames. "Okay times up." He said his voice slightly quivering after he looked back and noticed that Toothless's artificial fin was in flames. "Let's see if this works." Hiccup said making Toothless dive again down towards the queen. "Common is that the best you can do?" He taunted the queen as they soared past her. Toothless soared between her open jaws barely clearing the teeth as they snapped shut. They dove once more the queen right on their tail. She let out deafening roars that even Hiccup could hear through the billowing wind. Toothless shuddered as he tried to stay steady in the rapid decent. Hiccup tried to adjust the tail but he got no response from the burning piece of metal and hide.

"Stay with me buddy we're good just a little bit longer." He reassured Toothless. Hiccup heard an inhale behind him and Hiccup closed his eyes listening to it. "Hold Toothless." He said and the dragons body below him became deadly still. "Now!" He yelled and yanked Toothless's saddle switching his around so that now they were falling with their backs to the ground. The queens mouth was wide open, deep in the throat Hiccup could see the green gas. Toothless fired and within an instant all the gas inside the queens mouth was aflame, and soon after that all the gas that was in the queens body was as well. The queen shook her head unsure what was happening. Suddenly they could see again as they exited the clouds and the beach and ocean were visible below them. The queen tried to open her wings as a last ditch effort to save herself but it was futile and her wings began to burn from the inside.

Toothless turned himself back around and opened his wings the wind catching them letting the queens head pass them, but they weren't free yet. The queen let out a cry in her final moments before crashing only the stone floor exploding into a fiery mushroom cloud that began to engulf the rest of her body. Toothless and Hiccup flew up quickly, barely beating the stampede of flames just a foot behind them. They weaved between the spikes on the queens back like they were sea stacks but without the assistance of the tail fin it was almost impossible. Hiccup adjusted the tail fin hoping it would give them some kind of help but it didn't instead it broke of falling into the flames. Hiccup looked up, the queens tail. The massive mace like ball on the end of her tail. It was looming in front of them, and they had no way to turn. "No, no!" He yelled trying to turn but it didn't work... and they crashed throwing Hiccup from the saddle... knocking him unconscious...
