She remains strong to her commitment. Keeping her trap shut, to only thrash in his grip.

Her wringling under his grip , aggravating his anger more.

"Stay still. What the hell!"

She doesn't , using her entire strength to get away from him. And that's when he has had enough of her.

Lifting her up from her waist, he places her on the marble slab and pushes himself to her. Pinning her hands on her either sides.

"Stop it Ezra."

She stills. Giving up the struggle, to look up at the ceiling. Ignoring his domineering presence completely.

His eyes set on her as he breathes heavily.

"Are you done? Can we talk decently now?"

She doesn't answer. Considering him not worth of her attention. Laying still, waiting for him to let her go.

"Fuc* Ezra! Speak up! This is getting on my nerves! "

She sets her calm brown eyes on his furious grey ones. And she could see his barriers breaking.

She was winning this, before even saying anything.

And that's when she decided to speak.

"Hope your girlfriend comes back to see you pinning another girl against her will."

"And sees you for the bastard you are Aaron Reed."

His anger worsens. Her challenging him, not settling well.

"Mind your tone, you stupid girl!"

"Don't forget who you are in this house."

And she scoffs, almost chuckling at his threat.

"Who I am ? Whatever it is Aaron, I am way better than a selfish man like you!"

. . .

"When were kids, I thought you had a heart of gold. You may be cold outside, but you were loving and caring for others."

Her eyes show incredulity ,as she says with dissapointement.

"But look at you now Aaron? You are a emotionless man who has no care about others feelings and well beings."

"Money, work and fuc* is all that you care about! You are a monster Aaron....a fuc*ing monster with no heart!"

"You used me, toyed with my feelings...you even took my first kiss dammit!"

"Ezra! List-"

"No you shut up and listen you moron! I have had enough now!

"You have always given me a cold shoulder....you never talked to me properly. Even when we were kids, you let them bully me! You hated me like anything! Everyone else made me feel like family, but you? You never forget to tell me that I am an orphan left near a bin to die!"

"I am happy that I am Orphan okay? Well atleast being an orphan I am better than having people like you in my family!"

"Who is clubbing and fuc*ing around with his girlfriend on a Friday night ,when his own father is struggling in the hospital bed ,for his life!"

"I swear Aaron. The guilt would have killed you if something would have-"

"Ezra! SHUT UP!!"

He literally screams with so much anger, that she flinches for a second. His fist, hitting the marble slab beside her head.

She breathes heavily closing her eyes, to feel tears prick them.

Her chest moving up and down

"Enough. Please."

Came his voice, a bit softer this time. His breath hitting her lips ,as they both struggle to gain control.

She may have gone overboard, and the second she opened her eyes to look at him, her doubt got confirmed.

The veils from those grey eyes were lifted now.

They looked vulnerable, guilty and scared.

They looked ashamed.

Moving up his fingers, she flinches. Thinking he will hit her but instead he caresses her cheek with his knuckles softly. Looking down at her helplessly.

"Don't say things when you don't know about them Ezra."

"The guilt afterwards.....it hurts so bad."

He says, as if he has experienced it. She couldn't understand, what he was saying. But it seemed, he was hiding way more secrets then she thought.

"Wh...what do you me-'

"Shhhh"

He silences her, placing his finger on her lips. To have her heart thump.

"You are too innocent to understand some things Ezra." . . . "But trust me. I am doing this for your own good." . . . What is this man? Why is it so difficult to understand him? Ezra was too lost to make sense of anything.

"I am sorry if I hurt you in any way. But I won't come in your way again."

Looking at her, one last time. He moves back from her. Making her big brown eyes to stare at him.

Perplexed and indecipherable.

Stopping at the threshold, he looks back at her. Still sprawled on the slab like he left her.

His next words, finally doing what his earlier actions were not able to.

"Aunt May has selected a boy for you."

"I hope he will be better than me and will treat you like you deserve to be."

With this he leaves, making a deadly silence to linger in the air. She just stares at the door, from where he left.

How does he know?

How...how can he say it so casually?

As if everything that happened.... didn't mattered to him?

The last line finally proved it indeed. The man doesn't love her and wants her to move on from him.

She gets up, staring at the floor. Trying to digest ,the man's words.

You are a fool Ezra! Ben was right!

He will choose her, Andriana's.

He will always choose her.

She is rich, beautiful and a self made successful model. Why will he select a nobody, a maid's daughter, an average looking girl like you.

"Ezra child, what are you doing here?"

Her chain of thoughts are broken, as she sees her mom come towards her. And her heart thuds rapidly in her chest.

Thank God, she didn't see them.

"Mom? Me? No... nothing mom."

May smiles, pulling her for a hug. And Ezra hugs her back, her warm embrace soothing.

"Did you had something to eat? See Mrs Reed made your favourite cookies."

Ezra smiles sadly, the taste of cookies sour in her mouth as she clenches her fists. Setting her mind.

"Mom?"

"Hmmm?"

May says looking at her over her shoulder. To only have Ezra nod at her mom. Determination set in her eyes.

"I have decided mom. I am ready."

May furrows her brows, to only ask her in confusion.

"For what dear?"

And Ezra gulps. Seeing Aaron's face flash in front of her eyes before replying.

"I am ready to meet the person you were asking me to meet mom."

"I am ready for marriage."

May's mouth opens in surprise, as she starts coming towards her. Her eyes shining in excitement.

"Oh god! Thank you for listening to me! I can't believe it! My daughter."

May kisses Ezra on her forehead, pulling her in a tight hug. And Ezra feels anxious yet right at the same time.

She trusts her mom's choice.

It has to be the right decision.

Closing her eyes, she let's go of all her troubles to her mom's trust.

It's the time to move on,or atleast she was going to try to. Because sometimes in life one needs to surrender one thing to get another.

Who knows maybe it turns out to be way better ?
