Adelina's POV

I work out in the gym after sleeping for a few hours. I don't have to think as I go through the motions of the structured routine. Every Unseen Nightmare learns the same basic outline of training and working out. All except the Ace's no one really knows what they do to train.

Knowing them, it definitely wasn't spending time in a gym.

We will start our family's mission tomorrow. It would be done before schedule but there was no specified time frame so we can complete it whenever we want and the sooner it's done the better in my opinion.

We would travel to Rome and complete the mission then collect the money after the mission was completed in one drop. Usually, we would wait for the first payment but I just want this mission to be over with.

Santiago laid out the plan before he went to sleep and sent me a copy of the file. It was a simple plan we've used before: go into the gang's building at their busiest time of day, kill everyone there, and then track down the members who weren't there. Simple but effective.

After I finish my work out I go and make the three of us breakfast. I'm not the best at cooking but I make us eggs and toast. Hopefully, we can smooth things over with Luka today and then be able to complete this mission without any complications.

Complications are the last thing we need right now.

Santiago walks in as quietly as ever and gives me a nod of thanks for the food. Luka would be coming soon and I have no idea what mood he will be in or if he has finally come to his senses. When he walks in he grabs his food and eats at the table with us silently. I glance at Santiago who ignores my gaze by focusing on his food.

I roll my eyes, "Luka?"

"What Ads? You want me to admit you're right? I know you are but how am I supposed to just accept that?"

"Our choice was taken away a long time ago Luka we've come to terms with it. You need to. Especially with this mission."

His eyes flash with emotion at Santiago's words then shut down. Just like we were trained. "I know and I'll do my part, don't worry about me."

I hum in acknowledgment and we discuss details about the mission for a while and work on surveillance. We send a notice that we were speeding up the timeline for the mission per the rules of The Unseen Nightmares as well. We would fly to Rome late at night, get settled and start the mission by the time the sun comes up. Once we had it all laid out in perfect detail we switch over and go through other work for Unseen Nightmares then sleep burning the time before our flight.

We pack up everything we would need and leave for our flight like the robots we were trained to be. The perfect mindset that naturally sets in the minute we begin a mission.

The plane ride is silent, every passenger either sleeping or partaking in a quiet activity. It was a short trip and we were the first ones off. We packed light knowing it would be a short trip so we walk out of the airport with just our carry-on bags. We hire a rental car using a fake ID and head straight out to the gang's headquarters. Before we leave the car we change into our assassin outfits hiding our identity.

We don't bother hacking into their system, I don't see any reason we need to. We would win against all of them in a fight so it doesn't matter if we know what's happening inside until we are inside ourselves.

We leave the car a few blocks away and stick to the shadows and away from the traffic cameras. Just like we have been trained.

We watch the building people discreetly coming in and out waiting until they were the busiest to attack. If I had the choice we would just attack now but then we would have to track down more members and I didn't want to be bothered with that extra work. Let the prey come to you, don't go to it.

Once Santiago nods we split up to our different entrances embodying the perfect emotionless robots they made us into. I slip into the back cargo area of the building where they transport drugs and other things in and out. I kill the men working there and continue on heading to the next room. I clear rooms as we planned out beforehand. Unlike the Ace's we don't leave a calling card on every body when we do high casualty jobs typically leaving our three roses in one room. Subtle but effective.

I meet Santiago and Luka on the outside of the main office. There was a panic room inside the leader was most likely hiding in. We could also look through and see if there is any information we don't have that we can see to someone. I open the door and find Enzo sitting at the desk. My big brother. The person who used to be my hero.

I sigh and walk in, Santiago and Luka right behind me. He stares at the three of us then sighs, "You three work fast."

I hum, "So this is what a test?"

"We all know why you are here."

I let my usual fake laugh, "We were hired for a mission, that your family hired us for mind you, we're in our right to kill you."

"I don't think you three will kill me, sorella (sister)." So they've put some of it together.

"You should be careful with your words. Many would take a perceived relation to us as a green light to kill you."

He raises his eyebrows, "So that's what you are worried about. We understand the danger that follows you and we don't care."

I twirl my knife looking around, "So you build an idea we're your lost siblings and what lure us here and then have a conversation with us."

"It's not an idea and we all know it. After our meeting in Paris," he pauses and looks at Luka, "we knew you wouldn't make contact so we wanted to ensure we would see you again."

"We could kill you for this."

He looks me up and down, "You could but you won't. After your notice about attacking sooner than planned, we killed most of the gang members and I have been waiting here for you. You stopped us from going to The Ace's protecting our lives, you won't kill me now."

I shrug, "Then I guess we'll see you at the planned money drop location in three days."

"Don't. Don't leave again. Please." I turn to see my big brother almost shattering in front of me, "The family needs you, all of you. Don't leave."

I look at Luka and Santiago, Luka's hopeful eyes, Santiago's emotionless ones. I don't turn around, "It's too risky for us to stay."

"We all know the risks. No one knows your identity. We can keep it quiet. We will do anything to have you back in our lives. Please." My big brother who never had to say please was now begging us not to go. My resolve was crumbling and I didn't know what to do.

Santiago gave me a slight nod and I know the terrible decision I was about to make would at least be supported. I pulled off my hood and mask my teammates doing the same. Enzo stared at us and then smiled a beaming smile oozing happiness.

"Adelina, Santiago, Luka. You are all so grown up." He trailed off just staring at us. A million things fly through my head as the silence draws on. Luckily Enzo finds his words, "Emmalyn, Emilio, and Ezequil are the Aces aren't they."

I glance at the others then nod, "They don't remember you. I would stop any attempts of looking for them or associating with them. They will kill you."

"We didn't try to look for them yet we started with the three of you." He keeps that stupid smile on his face as we wait for his next move. He seems to catch on that we were waiting for him and he nods to himself, "Our family is staying at our home here. Most of the boys are at work and school right now but our moms are home and our dads are expecting me to call them so they will be able to meet us. We can figure this out as a family."

I glance at Luka and Saitago and agree.

The one thought rushing through my mind as we walked out of the building is that we still have to follow all the rules all The Unseen Nightmares follow.

Emmalyn's POV

I break every Unseen Nightmare rule as I watch the rapist start to bleed from his eyes. The poison wasn't exactly what I planned but the blood running down his face was quite pretty. Unseen Nightmares weren't supposed to inflict harm on someone unless it was a mission. Or tell people who you were. And a lot more stupid rules. We've broken almost all of them multiple times. Everyone breaks them.

I head back to my small greenhouse grabbing herbs to test out a new version of the poison I had a murderer in one of the cells that screamed out for me to poison. I wanted the poison to cause welts and blisters on the victim's skin painting them in red until their death. Although the bleeding eyes were also a nice touch. I will include that.

It would create such a pretty picture.

I hum as I gather my plants and head to my lab. Once I add everything needed I hum as I clean up all the herbs being careful when handling the poisonous plants. Getting poisoned when not building up an immunity can be such a hassle.

Emilio walks into the room and waits for my so very desired attention. Once I grant it to him he smiles and compliments my dress. I beam and thank him, twirling letting him see the light pink dress with white hearts and my curled hair in its entirety.

He laughs and I smile at him, "We can talk to The Roses tomorrow. They're in Rome right now working a job." I sigh with envy, jealousy is never cute however I can't stop myself from wishing I could be on a mission right now.

"Their fantasy family lives there too," I murmur smacking his hand away from one of my freshly baked cookies.

He frowns at me and shrugs knowing there are more in the kitchen, "Yeah coincidentally it's a job for them. Taking out some gang though it seems orchestrated." I pout wishing I could be taking out a gang, "Orchestrated?"

"Yeah, I think the mafia made some farce to lead them there."

"Hmm, well they'll be able to handle it. They can handle anything that is thrown at them."

"And if they can't we will kill what ails them."

"Precisely my dear twin, I would even wear one of my most prettiest dresses for the occasion."

He laughs, "I will leave a day before you and Ze and get the first payment then will meet you for the job."

I hum in acknowledgment, "I will do my best not to harm him drastically."

He laughs again, "Want to bake something together?"

I spin and narrow my eyes at him, "Poisoned?"

He sighs, "No Emmy, something edible," I open my mouth and he continues, "that doesn't harm any of us."

I roll my eyes, he truly ruins all the fun but agree nonetheless. He calls Ezequil and we meet in the kitchen. I look around then turn to the boys, "We'll make cupcakes."

I'm poisoning the ones I decorate but they don't need to know that some of my prettiest toys deserve a treat.

We make a batch of chocolate cakes and split them up between us. I only attempt to kill Ze over three of the best cakes too.

He always tries to take the best ones. He can be such a jerk.

My cupcakes look the prettiest and they are the most deadly. The perfect combination. Once we finish up Ze heads off to clean himself off because I 'accidentally' poured icing all over him.

Not my fault he is an idiot.

One of the various workers on the property is asked to clean up the kitchen for us and I pack up my most favorite cake and take it to the basement where all the toys are kept at this property. The man I select for my amazing present looks terrified as I glide towards his cage.

"Hello, I brought you a treat." I beam at his scared face. One of the Unseen Nightmare rules is never unveiling your identity; we break that all the time with our soon-to-be-dead victims. There's just something about a person looking at your eyes as they die.

So beautiful.

To be fair though this man wasn't an assigned target. He knew who the Aces were sure but we weren't told to kill him so we weren't technically breaking that rule. Other rules most definitely but not that one.

I open his cage with the key I wore as a necklace. The key opened every cage down here. It didn't matter if it was stolen we would kill them before they could kill us.

"Sorry miss, I don't think I am hungry right now." He was polite but so very rude, lying and refusing my specially made treat.

Our workers were told not to feed them this week unless directed to. He hadn't eaten in three days. I frown and force him to ingest the cake. He misses tasting all the wonderful flavors. Such a rude arsonist. First, he tries to destroy a so very pretty building I love and now disrespecting my beautiful treat.

He wouldn't die from this poison. Want to most definitely but he wouldn't. It was good I could torture him later. He was tied up so I sit on a chair I had brought in earlier and watch him as the poison takes its effect and he starts to scream.

Truly screams were such a beautiful sound.

I don't like this chapter but it's really just a filler for the next one as things get started with their family.
