Santiago's POV

Just as Emmalyn asked, Aunt Natalia takes out the pan when the timer goes off in the otherwise silent kitchen. When some of our brothers walk in and head straight for the muffins, Addy cuts in, stopping them, "Emmy made those so unless you have a death wish," she waves her hand, "don't eat them."

"There's enough for everyone though!"

Addy just gives them a look, "It doesn't matter she will kill you for taking something without permission if the poison in the muffins doesn't kill you first."

The parents look over at us with a mixture of confusion and shock, "The muffins are poisonous?"

Before anyone could reply Emmy, Emilio, and Ezequiel walk in and each grab a muffin. Emmy takes a cautious delicate bite as she does with all food; the boys both scarf down their first muffins and grab seconds as Emmy gives them a disgusted look. "Are those muffins poisoned?"

Emmy turns to her mother with a beaming smile, "Why of course my newest one!"

"You are eating poisoned muffins?" Her father clearly wasn't sure what to do in this situation and stares at his two youngest children and their best friend, his nephew.

Emmy rolls her eyes seemingly bored, "It's not like they will kill us, that'd be counterproductive, you, however-" She trailed off seeming to be imagining the effects the poison would have on someone even with the minute amount she used. The three's, mostly Emmy's, tendency to eat poisons to build tolerances to them was nothing new and they have at times invited The Aces to do the same. Addy claims it's their way to show they care, as psychotic as it sounds.

Cosimo frowns, "Sweetheart is it the best idea to poison yourselves?"

She glares at him, "Why of course, building tolerances to my poisons ensures they cannot be used against me."

Our family seems baffled however no one commented as the three finish their breakfast. "We are off to go train, you are of course welcome to join if you wish!" The demon doll gave an excited smile as she skipped out of the room with her two soldiers right behind her. Their excitement said nothing good was going to happen with this supposed training that our family will undoubtedly want to join in on or at least watch. Saving our family from their psychotic and murderous youngest children is becoming way to normal.

The younger boys were the first to follow The Aces out but Addy stops them before they could cross through the door. "You will only observe their training, are we clear?" She twirls a knife as a scare tactic waiting for them to concede. We will protect them and if hurting them a little prevents them from getting themselves killed by The Aces then we will.

The boys' eyes ping pong from Addy, the knife, to Luka and me as the others all tense. The tension was palpable and it was clear the older adults in the room were unsure who or if they should protect. The boys back down slowly and Addy nods and tosses the kitchen knife back onto the counter. "Let's go and please don't get involved, their training is not exactly training the way we mean it." The last time we agreed to train with the three we ended up with them sniping at us and each other with real sniper rifles and bullets. I still had a scar from getting shot that day and Addy sewing it up later after the trio headed off to deal with their wounds and their mission.

Psychotic demons.

Addy takes the lead in walking towards the gym the family had equipped for all different kinds of training. We could faintly hear the firing of guns through the soundproof walls and Addy opens the door. The three of us would be better prepared and capable of whatever danger we would find inside the gym with the three training than our family.

The Aces were fighting one another with seemingly no restrictions, Ezequiel had a pistol, Emilio had a dagger, and Emmy a variety of different throwing weapons that were undoubtedly all poisonous. The three don't look up as we walk into the room, not letting someone take advantage of the distraction we cause. Addy maneuvered them to stand in the safest position behind a glass wall as Emilio almost slits Ezequiel's throat before he is thrown away. Our family stood in shock at the three clearly seeing that their version of training was more kill or be killed fighting than focusing on an improvement of skills.

As always with them due to the audience, they were more dramatic and risky. The three loved any attention they got, fear, admiration, in their fucked up world it was all the same. They wanted our family to fear them. It was the reason they killed the men who invaded their room the way they did and the reason they invited us to this today.

Their end game wasn't clear with them joining the movie and refraining from killing any of the family members but as always you never let your guard down around other teams of Unseen Assassins. Loyalty only goes so far and every team has its own agenda especially when it comes to The Aces.

Hey, I might start updating every other week on this book because it's hard to manage writing, school, and everything else and I feel like I am not writing the best chapters because of it so at least for a while I think I'll update every other Wednesday for this book
