"I want you to get Anna a present." Madam Webb stated.

"Wait...what?" I replied, confused by the sudden question. Anna had just gone to the bathroom, absent from the conversation.

"I want you to get Anna a present." Madam Webb restated. "She's your girlfriend, so you should get her something to give her during the Blood Ball. Preferably something small."

Madam Webb pulled some money out of her purse, shoving it into my hands.

"Take this. There's a bunch of stores over there." She stated, pointing to a nearby street. "There's plenty to get her something. Also grab yourself a souvenir, that'll be the cover for why you left us. You can't contact us afterwards."

"Uh, okay..." I replied, shoving the money into my pocket. "See you soon then."

I jogged over to the street Madam Webb had pointed too, turning onto it. It was completely empty, a stark contrast to the rest of the busy city.

Walking across the street, I gazed at the shops. There were so many which sold different wares. There was a pet store, a candy store, an ice cream store...

Wait, ice cream? It's scorching hot here. You know, being in Hell and all. They must have something really good to keep it frozen.

Passing the ice cream store, I continued to look for a store that might have something Anna would like. And that's when one of them caught my attention.

Diamond.

It was a jewelry store. Jewelry is romantic, right? Sally, is it?

"Why are you asking me?" Sally questioned.

Ah, right. There's no way you could ever have a boyfriend, or any experience with romance.

"Shut up!" Sally screeched.

Is insulting you the only way to make you show emotion? Anyways, the boyfriend thing is true.

...

Ah, she's silent. Now she's ignoring me.

Walking into the store, there was only one person at the counter. The rest of the store was completely empty, similar to the street I was just on.

Man, this is really feeling like a ghost town...or more accurately, street...

I started looking through the jewelry, but honestly I have no idea what kind of jewelry a girl would want. Look, I'm a complete virgin. Don't hate me too much.

The door opened, another person entering the store. Glancing over, it was a suspicious looking person in a robe.

I hope they don't try to rob the store...

They moved over to the other side of the store, looking through the jewelry. Maybe they aren't being suspicious on purpose. But seriously, who wears a robe to cover their face in a jewelry store?

Ignoring the new arrival, I continued to look through the jewelry, but I still don't know what to get. They have so many types! There's rings, necklaces, earrings, and all of them have different designs!

"I don't know what to get a girl..." I mumbled under my breath.

"Need some help?" I heard a feminine voice ask from behind, slightly startling me.

Turning around, I noticed it was that suspicious person! She doesn't seem bad though despite her appearance. Maybe she's just shy?

"Sure. Thanks!" I replied, accepting the offer. Having a girl's opinion will greatly help!

"Are you sue this is a good idea?" Sally questioned.

I'll keep an eye on her. Not to mention [Danger Sense] will warn me if she tries to suddenly attack.

"Well, what are some things she likes?" She asked me.

"She likes spiders, sweets, and the color blue. Same color as her eyes." I immediately replied.

"You know a lot about her." She noticed.

"Yeah. I've known her for a long time." I answered. I felt a smile grow on my face.

She had caught my attention years ago. She's kept it to this day. I can still remember all of the adventures we had. Me her, and John...

I love her...

The robed girl helped me look through the jewelry for something that my girlfriend might like. Then I saw one that immediately made me think of her.

A blue jeweled necklace with silver spider legs wrapping around it.

"What about this?" I asked the girl, showing her the necklace for a second opinion.

"I think she'll love it." She replied.

That wasn't as hard as I thought it'd be...

"Thanks for helping me. You need any help? I could buy one for you to repay the favor." I suggested. I have plenty of money, and I'd feel rude to not offer anything in return for her help.

"No, it's good." She responded. "I'll get my own."

Really...?

"Alright then." I sighed. "Thanks again."

Throughout my years of living , I have learned one thing. Don't try to go against stubborn women. It's practically impossible to change their minds. It's better to just go along.

After all, Anna is one of those stubborn women, and I've been her best friend for years. And now I'm her boyfriend.

I noticed that the robed girl moved back to looking through the jewelry, this time for herself. Well, I should pay for this now. Checking the price tag, I had enough. I walked over to the counter, getting ready to pay for the necklace.

As I went to pull out my money, the door suddenly slammed open. Turning around, two robed men stood in front of the doors. Are they related to this girl?

And then my blood ran cold.

As I felt a cold pressure on the back of my head. Glancing backwards, my worst fears were confirmed.

He was holding a gun to my head.

"Give us the girl and we'll spare your life, boy." One of the robed men hissed at me.

A screen popped up in front of me.

[Mission] - Survive and protect the jewelry girl.

[Reward] - 80 AP

[Punishment] - Death

[Time] - 30 Minutes

[Y/N]

Oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god!!!!

There's a freaking gun to my head! Of course I'm accepting the mission! I don't want to die!

Why didn't [Danger Sense] work?! Skills aren't supposed to malfunction!

I stared at the cashier through the corner of my eye, who grinned wickedly at me as he held a pistol to my head.

Looks like they do use guns in the Underworld...

"That's strange. Guns aren't usually used by the supernatural." Sally informed.

They aren't?

"They have magic and other powers. What's the use for a gun?" Sally questioned.

Wait. [Danger Sense] didn't work for this gun. It's being by used by someone who usually wouldn't use guns...

...

"Well? You going to say anything, boy? Are you too frozen up in fear?" The same robed man taunted.

...

It's a bluff.

"I agree. Kick their asses." Sally commented.

I felt a chuckle escape my lips.

"What's so funny?" Glared the cashier. "You want to die that badly?"

I glanced over to the girl, who seemed to be nervous. She darted her eyes from person to person, unsure of what to do.

I grinned at her, giving her a cocky smile. If I look confident, then she'll realize I have this under control.

"You think you can kill me?" I asked. "You should have gotten a real gun then."

Quickly turning around, I grabbed the cashier by his arm, throwing him over the counter and slamming him onto the floor.

"How dare you?!" Yelled one of the robed men.

Man, who knew face slapping felt so good?!

One of the men rushed at me, fire gathering in his palms. It didn't faze me. It wasn't Angela's holy fire or Duncan's chaos fire.

I've really become more confident, haven't I?

I easily dodged the punch the man threw, using my demonic arm to grab him by the throat. I lifted the struggling enemy in the air.

He grasped at my hand, trying to escape. Unlucky for him, my demon arm is much stronger than a normal monster's arm.

"Ah!" Someone yelled. Looking over, I noticed that the robed girl had defeated the other man, leaving him groaning on the ground and clutching his...area...

Ouch.

Her hood had fallen, revealing a pretty girl with tanned skin, straight black hair, and crimson red eyes. In her vicious grin stood out two fangs.

Is she a vampire?

"I believe so." Sally replied.

I see. Well, onto the interrogation. What do they want with this vampire girl?

"What's your goal here?" I questioned, glaring at the man I held by the throat.

"Heh...as if I'd tell you..." The man chuckled. "A nobody like you can't take all of us on..."

How can you be so confident in this position?

Ack?! Something rammed into the back of my head, causing me to stumble forward while dropping the man.

I felt something trickle down my head. Touching the sticky liquid, I saw crimson coating my hand. I turned around, glaring at the person who hit me. It was the cashier, holding the fake gun in his hand.

He charged me, screaming. Reeling my fist backwards, I slammed it into his gut. He keeled over, before shoving a fist into my face.

I brought my fist back around, smacking him across the face with it, completely knocking him out.

Two arms wrapped around my neck, before suddenly tightening. The other one has me in a choke hold!

I started to gasp for air, quickly losing it. He was holding tight, and he wasn't going to let go.

Using my elbow, I shoved it into his stomach as hard as I could. He stumbled backwards, letting go. Swinging my leg, I sent a devastating kick straight to his head, knocking him out.

I'm much physically stronger than before...

Looking over to the girl, I noticed the man she had fought was now thrown out the window.

"Are you alright?!" She worriedly asked as she noticed my state. Most likely due to the blood dripping down my face...

"I'm fine." I replied. "Quick, let's get out of here!"

Grabbing her hand, I ran outside with her following. But the previously empty street wasn't so empty before, now filled with robed people, all staring at the two of us.

"Crap..."
