They stared at me shocked. The annoying second-in-command Devil Rider was laying on top of another one outside.
The rest just stared at me in shock. Even Madam Webb, Sheriff Wyn, and the girls looked at me surprised.
"What...what are you?" Gasped one of the Devil Riders, warily looking at my halo.
"I've never seen a monster like that before..." Another muttered, sweat running down his brow.
What? They don't know what an Angel is?
"Remember, the Angels went extinct 1000 years ago." Sally reminded me. "That's a really long time. Not everyone is going to remember the Angels. Honestly, they're likely only a legend now."
Huh. Everybody's just known, I never really thought about that. But yeah, that's ten times the max human lifespan. It's no wonder most wouldn't know.
The annoying Devil Rider groaned, standing up. He looked at me with an angry glare, cracking his knuckles.
"Oh, if it's a fight you want it's a fight you'll get." He growled. He walked back into the pub, leaving the other Devil Rider knocked out.
"It's been a good while since I've hada good ol' bar fight." Grinned Sheriff Wyn. Spider legs extended from her back, just like how they did with John, Anna, and Madam Webb.
"You're going to regret messing with Brod." He growled. "You all get the others one, I want to deal with this fucker."
Now that's not nice.
He rushed towards me, sending a punch towards me. It was easy to dodge, especially with [Danger Sense] sending me signals.
He sent another punch which I slightly backed up from. He grew even more angry, sending an even quicker punch. I moved my demon arm up, easily catching his arm.
I raised an eyebrow at him, kicking him in the chest. He went flying out of the building again. I looked back towards the frozen Devil Riders.
My anger was fading.
"Wait, this is your second-in-command?" I asked, confused.
Really?
"You're dead!" He yelled, jumping back through the open doorway.
[Danger Sense] activated, sending me signals of a greater threat than before. I quickly dodged as he swung at me, a knife held tightly in his hands.
Ah, that's dangerous.
"You've faced worse." Sally stated.
Well, I guess.
"I'll kill you!" He yelled.
It's just weird to think I actually have someone trying to murder me. It's making my heart race and not in the good way.
"Again, you've faced worse." Sally repeated. "This guy doesn't seem refined at all."
Yet he's the second-in-command. I don't like this. I have a bad feeling...
I continued to dodge his slices. He glanced back towards the other Devil Riders. "What are you doing?! Get them!" He screamed.
"Ah, right boss!" One suddenly nodded, rushing towards the others.
The sounds of crashing and thrown punches echoed behind me as I dodged the knife. I watched as a Devil Rider was flung out the window. Looks like they're doing a good job despite also having to protect those who can't fight.
As the second-in-command sent another slash towards me, I couldn't help but think he had may more bravado than the power he was showing. Madam Webb would have wiped the floor with him.
Like how she's currently using that guy as a sword to defeat the others. Surprisingly effective.
"Pay attention to your own fight!" He growled as I dodged another slice.
I probably should, but [Danger Sense] is letting me know where the danger is coming from.
And then my hand was suddenly struck with another random pain. I gripped my arm with my other hand as my teeth ground together. It was even worse this time.
"Aha!" He laughed, his dagger stabbing straight towards my eye.
I quickly jerked my foot upwards, taking a page from Dawn's book and slamming my foot into his sacred place, before kicking him outside of the building once more.
My demonic hand shook with pain. It was lasting longer this time as well. I gripped it, hoping the pain would ease soon.
It hurts!
The pain faded. I took a fresh breath of relief. Why did it hurt more this time? Is it getting worse?
"It could be random." Sally stated. "After all, they appear at random times. Maybe they have random intensities as well."
I guess. I just hope this isn't anything serious.
I glanced back at the others, which seemed to be doing a fine job taking care of the Devil Riders. With a couple extra fighters Sheriff Wyn was finally able to overpower these guys.
Seriously, they're weak by themselves. Sheriff Wyn slammed one's head into the bar table. Another ran at her with a swing. She dodged it, kicking him in the back of the knee and bringing him to his knees.
She then kicked him in the back of the head. As the first person got up she gripped them from behind, putting them in a headlock. She held them there before they lost consciousness.
John beat up any Devil Rider which approached the shaking Brutus, while Anna and Dawn together took on four Devil Riders.
Lilia was throwing crosses. I didn't think it would do much but as they impacted against the Devil Riders they screamed in pain and dropped down onto the ground in agony.
Angela didn't have any problem punching them into unconsciousness. She didn't even need to bring out her wings and halo. She did use her holy fire though, leaving them screaming similarly to Lilia's victims.
Well, until they fell unconscious.
Sapphire and Krystal easily took out a couple Devil Riders while Madam Webb tossed them around with her purple telekinetic powers with a wave of her hand.
She really is OP...
I walked outside to the Devil Rider which was standing up, growling at me. I summoned the holy chain. It wrapped around my demon arm, dragging across the ground.
I threw it forwards, letting it wrap around the Devil Rider's leg. I yanked him towards me, sending him flying at me.
I moved my arm out, letting him slam into it and fall onto the ground. He clutched at his nose as blood ran down it. "Damn it!" He cried out.
"So...what are you guys even doing?" I asked.
"Damn you! As if I'd talk." He sneered. "We're just the collectors. There are so many more of us."
"Well, thanks for talking." I shrugged. "Anyways, where are the people from the other buses?"
"Why would I tell you?" He growled.
"Because you are currently beaten up..." I sighed, deadpanning. "Just tell me and make this easier."
"Never." He growled.
Well, it doesn't matter. Sheriff Wyn said that they're in the forest, right? What was it's name again?
"Oasis." Sally informed.
Right. Thanks.
"You have bad memory." She sighed. "First Brutus' race, now this."
I'm sorry! And I've apologized to Brutus! And how can I help it, it's not like I asked my memory to fail me!
"Excuses." Sally replied.
[Danger Sense]!
I quickly backed up as the Devil Rider stabbed the dagger onto the ground, right where my foot had been. Ouch, that would have hurt.
I kicked his knife away, leaving him unarmed and growling. Seriously, was this guy really their second-in-command?
The sound of footsteps alerted me. Madam Webb and the others walked out, glancing at the angry Devil Rider by my feet.
"So, what did ya do with my friend's students, ya cunt?" Asked Sheriff Wyn.
"Like I'd tell you." He spat out.
"He's not very happy." I pointed out.
"I could tell." Sheriff Wyn sweatdropped. "Anyways, I know they're settled in Oasis despite the slimes. Your students should be there."
"I hope so." Madam Webb sighed. "And I hope we aren't too late."
"So do I." Nodded Sheriff Wyn.
"Is there any way we can get there quickly?" Madam Webb asked.
"We could use those." Suggested Sheriff Wyn, pointing to a couple of bikes now parked outside of the pub.
They were a sleek black with fire and skull designs on them. They also had some spikes, making it pretty obvious for who owned them.
"No...not our bikes..." He growled.
"Yeah, I say we take the bikes." Sapphire stated.
"Sounds good ta me." Grinned Sheriff Wyn. "Now let's go get your students."
