I dashed towards Skullface, swinging my [Iron Sword]. He deflected it with one of his daggers, sending the other one in a slice.

I sidestepped the slice, blocking his trust dagger as he tried to slash me. I continued to block Skullface's several slashes, dodging the ones I couldn't block.

Skullface changed his tactic, sending a roundhouse kick straight for my head. [Danger Sense] quickly informed me, allowing me to duck under his kick in time.

I shifted my sword to my left hand, using my demon arm to slam a punch into his stomach. He slid backwards, clutching his stomach.

"Strong punch." He grunted. "Not bad, kid."

"You're pretty chill for a gang leader." I noted.

"Just trying to make a living." He shrugged. "You're pretty chill for someone who's friends got kidnapped."

"I guess." I replied. Wouldn't exactly say friends, but more like classmates.

Skullface threw one of his daggers at me. I moved out of the way, letting it pass by. In his free hand electricity sparked. He aimed his hand at me, a strong blast of lightning shooting out towards me.

I extended my demon arm towards the approaching lightning bolt. "Gluttony." I whispered.

The eye on the back of my hand shot open. The lightning bolt slammed into my hand, getting sucked into it.

"Well, shit." He cursed.

I summoned my holy chain around my right arm, throwing it towards Skullface. It wrapped around his arm as he looked at it in surprise.

I stabbed the [Iron Sword] into the ground, gripping the [Chains of Holy Fire] with both hands and pulling.

Skullface had a better grip on the ground with his feet than others. However, he still stumbled forwards off balance.

I gripped the [Iron Sword], rushing towards Skullface and swinging it down on him. He blocked it with the dagger in his free arm.

I kicked him in the chest, sending him backwards. Now flying in the air I gripped the chains and used his momentum to swing him around in a circle.

Gaining speed and momentum, I released it into the air. As he went higher and higher, he eventually reached the peak. I then yanked him downwards, sending him flying towards the ground at high speeds.

He braced himself for impact, slamming down into the ground and creating a crater. As I looked over him, he seemed to be unconscious.

Huh. Alright then.

I desummoned the [Iron Sword]. Won't need that now. I looked over to the discarded clear box, where the King Slime laid inside.

It seemed to stare at me. That was a weird thing to say considering slimes don't have eyes, but it felt like as if it was staring straight at me.

"It's giving me the chills." Sally commented.

How do you even get chills? You're a voice in my head.

"Don't question it." Sally retorted.

Fine. I walked over to the King Slime. Picking up the box, I gripped the lid and easily opened it with my Nephilim strength.

The King Slime seemed to look up at me, confused. I set the box down onto the ground, throwing the lid away.

"You're uh...you're free now." I stated.

This should complete the mission.

The King Slime seemed to tilt it's head it me, which doesn't make sense because it doesn't have a head.

"You can go now." I replied. "And do...whatever slime things you do. Just please don't hurt my friends. You can hurt the Devil Riders though."

[Danger Sense]!

I quickly rolled out of the way as Skullface stabbed a dagger into the ground where I just was. He woke up quickly.

He glanced at the now freed slime. Lighting sparking in his free palm. "I don't know why you're trying to free it, but I need to kill it so a more reasonable slime becomes King. Sorry."

"No!" I shouted.

My single Angel wing propelled me forwards, allowing me to tackle Skullface. The lightning bolt he was going to shoot misdirected, hitting me in the stomach.

I flew backwards, slamming into a tree. My whole stomach hurt. I weakly pulled my shirt up, seeing my stomach had been singed.

I need a medic...

"Jackson. Pay attention!" Sally frantically shouted.

[Danger Sense]!

I rolled out of the way as Skullface kicked where I just was, his foot slamming against the tree. Instead of stubbing his toe like I would have liked, his foot cracked the tree, making it fall over.

...would that kick have killed me? Oh god.

I rolled out of the way as he stomped the ground. I scrambled to my feet, summoning my [Iron Sword]. I blocked his knife, using the sword as a shield.

I continued to deflect his sword as I clutched my hurting stomach with my other hand. I needed to do something, and quick. I needed something that would really knock him out for good this time. A really strong...punch.

Deflecting his knife, I threw my sword to my other hand. I continued to deflect his knife with the sword in my left hand as the [Chains of Holy Fire] appeared around my demon arm again. They ignited on fire this time.

I swung towards his head, which he easily ducked. I sent a knee towards his stomach, hitting it and making him stumble back.

I whacked him with the handle of my [Iron Sword] before bringing my flaming demon fist back for a strong punch. I sent it forwards, slamming it into his face for an extremely strong punch.

He flew backwards, slamming into a tree and slumping down, unconscious. That punch would have seriously hurt someone normal due to my half-Angel strength. The fact that it only knocked him unconscious shows how strong he is.

The only reason I beat him is because I have a cheat. But is it really a cheat if it's giving me an unwanted harem?

"Yes." Sally stated.

Darn.

I desummoned my [Iron Sword]. I was about to go check on Skullface when my demon arm had another sudden spike in pain.

I gasped, gripping it as I collapsed to the ground. I was in pure agony, with both my arm and stomach burning.

I laid there for a moment, not having the strength to move. Eventually the pain faded, letting me sit up and take a deep breath. My stomach still aches, but it's not as bad as before. And the pain in my arm faded now.

Something caught my vision, distracting me. That King Slime was still here. Actually, it was on top of Skullface.

It stretched down, grabbing that contract paper and pulling it out from Skullface's pocket in the slime's equivalent of a...mouth?

It dragged it over to me, placing it in front of me. It then just stared at me.

"Do you...want me to make a contract with you?" I asked, grabbing the contract and looking at it.

The slime...nodded? It was tough to tell with the fact that slimes don't have human body parts. They're just slime.

I looked back at the contract. It had some words on it in some language I didn't understand. What am I supposed to do?

"Contracts allow you to make a monster your familiar." Sally informed.

Wait, so I can make Anna my familiar by that logic...

"Technically you can, but both parties have to agree but no matter how much she loves you she isn't going to become your familiar. You better give up." Sally stated.

Look, I wasn't actually going to do it. I was just wondering.

"I...uh...accept this contract to let you be my familiar..." I slowly stated.

I placed the contract back down. The King Slime pulled off a small piece of itself, and placed it on the contract. Ouch.

The slime stepped back. The contract then started to glow surprisingly. Is it working?

[Contract Forming...]

Eh?

[Familiar Acquired]

Huh? What? Sally, what happened?

Before she could say anything a new screen popped up, showcasing the mission which I had now completed.

[Mission] - Save The King Slime. Completed.

[Bonus] - Earn the King Slime's Trust. Completed.

(Claim?)

Claim please, Sally.

"On it Host." Sally replied.

Thanks. So, what happened?

"I would recommend going to your [Profile]." She stated.

Alright, please take me to the [Profile] Sally.

The menu to my profile popped up, now slightly changed.

[Profile]

Name: Jackson Walker

Wisdom: Level 3

Agility: Level 3

[Danger Sense] Level 12 - A warning of incoming danger and which direction it is from can be felt.

[Hollow Wanderer] Level 3 - You can access the mysterious Hollow Realm through special portals.

[Chains of Holy Fire] Level 8 - You can summon and control chains infused with Holy Fire.

[Eagle Eye] Level 7 - You can see farther and clearer.

[Demon Arm Beelzebub] Level 10 - A Demonic Arm that overtakes your own upon use. Holds the mysterious powers of the old Lord of Flies.

* [Gluttony] The full potential of the Demon Arm. Absorbs magical energy to make the arm stronger.

[Fire Resistance] Level 2 - Any fire attacks dealt upon you deal less damage and don't hurt as much.

[King Slime] Level 1 - A familiar of Jackson Walker. A king monster which is impervious to physical attacks and can absorb things to become stronger.

My AP increased by 100 due to the fact that I completed both the mission and the bonus, so that is nice. I'll save that for later.

My Level increased to 4 despite that neither Charm, Strength, Agility, or Wisdom changed. Is the main level not tied to that?

"Your overall level is your overall level." Sally stated.

Very helpful...

"It's the combination of everything. Your four levels and your skill levels combined." She stated.

Pretty sure that four isn't the average.

"I don't understand how it calculates it." She replied. "But in simple terms, the higher your level, the stronger you are."

Well, I understood that. My [Demon Arm Beelzebub] leveled up again, and I now have a new skill called [King Slime]...

A new small screen popped up in front of me.

[Would you like to name your familiar?]

[Y/N]

"Would you like to be named?" I asked, looking down at the slime. I think I got a nod in response.

I clicked yes, a screen popping up in front of me. It had a keyboard for me to type in the name.

"Okay...how about...Boo?" I asked.

"Really. Boo?" Sally sighed.

What's wrong with that? The slime seems pretty happy about it. With that I typed in Boo, submitting the answer.

"Does that even count as a name?" She asked.

Sure it does. It's what I've always wanted to call a pet.

"And why?" She wondered.

I don't know. You don't understand my desires.

"Clearly not." She sighed once more.

Now that I named the King Slime as Boo, the skill on my profile changed.

[Boo] Level 1 - A familiar of Jackson Walker. A Slime King, a monster which is impervious to physical attacks and can absorb things to become stronger.

So if Boo eats things, it'll get stronger? Does that mean it works like my [Gluttony] sub-skill from my [Demon Arm Beelzebub]?

"Probably." Sally chipped in.

Huh. Interesting.

I looked down at the slime, smiling at it. "Let's have a good partnership." In response Boo climbed up me, sitting on my shoulder.

I looked back at the still unconscious Skullface. Now that he's knocked out I should probably tie him up or something. And then check on the others.
