The cafeteria felt a lot emptier than before. It's been a month since the field trip and many parents have pulled their students out of the school.
I mean, the students did get kidnapped, so it's perfectly understandable. It's made the school feel a lot emptier now. The amount of students was cut in half I'd say.
I fed Boo some of my food, letting it digest in it's stomach. It's gotten slightly larger in this month and hasn't leveled up.
That's right, Boo came back with us since it's now my familiar. The slimes are now living peacefully with Spotsville and Oasis.
Over this month Dawn has become used to Boo. She's still scared of slimes, but Boo specifically no longer scares her. Same with Brutus.
"I've been looking for a book about slimes." Dawn stated, lightly rubbing Boo. "But I haven't found anything."
"Why are you looking for a book about slimes?" John asked.
"I wanted to see if it's healthy for King Slimes to be this small. I thought they were supposed to be larger." Dawn explained.
"Yeah, we don't want Jack's familiar to die." Anna nodded.
"Yeah, I get that." John lazily stretched. "I've always imagined them to be larger."
"I-I wish I could help." Brutus muttered. "B-but we don't have slimes in Aquator."
"It's fine." I smiled. "You don't have to worry about it. Boo has been fine this month, so I think everything is okay."
"Hey...where are Krystal and Sapphire?" Angela asked. "They're not sick, right?"
"They were fine earlier today." Anna stated. "That is a little worrying."
"I'm sure they'll let us know if anything is wrong." I replied.
"Angela! Jack! Look what the lunch lady gave me!" Lilia exclaimed, running over.
She was holding a whole swordfish.
"Is that-is that a swordfish?" Anna questioned.
"Yeah!" Lilia happily said, too happy to argue with Anna. She sat next to Angela and placed the swordfish on her plate.
"Lilia has always loved seafood." I nodded.
Brutus shivered.
"How do you eat a whole swordfish?" John questioned.
Lilia started to gut the swordfish.
"Oh...so that's how." John cringed. "Your sister is insane, you know?"
"I know." I sighed.
"Jack!" Someone yelled from behind me.
Turning around, I saw Sapphire fly over with her dragon wings out, landing right in front of me. The students still at the school started to murmur, wondering if another fight was going to happen.
"We have a problem." She stated.
"We do?" I asked.
"It's Krystal. You might want to come and see." Sapphire stated.
"Is she okay?" Dawn worriedly asked.
"Physically, yes. Emotionally...we'll see." Sapphire ominously stated.
"Alright, let's go." I nodded, standing up. "I wonder what's going on."
What's happened with Krystal? I don't think it has anything to do with her ex-boyfriend Duncan, he hasn't been seen since the field trip. And I have no idea how he would even get in here.
So what could be upsetting her?
"I'll tell you when Krystal is there." Sapphire stated. "I'll be easier that way." She looked towards the others. "I'll let you guys know once we get this sorted out."
"Alright Boo, you stay here with the others." I told it. I think the slime nodded in response.
Sapphire got behind me, wrapping her arms under my armpits. Her wings flapped, taking us into the air. We flew through the hallways at extreme speeds. Good thing everybody was in the cafeteria, so we didn't have to risk running into anyone.
She quickly dropped us in front of the door to her and Krystal's room. I slowly opened the door, walking inside with Sapphire following.
"She's in her room." Sapphire stated. We walked over to the door with the sign saying Krystal hanging from it.
I knocked on the door. "Krystal...is everything alright?" I asked.
"Jack?!" Krystal's worried voice exclaimed. "Is that you?!"
"Yeah." I replied. "Sapphire told me something's going on. Can I come in?"
"Sapphire!" Krystal gasped. "Uh...uh...give me a moment!"
I heard scrambling in the room before Krystal slowly opened the door, her eyes red from crying. She let us in. Her room was fairly tidy, with a couple things strewn around.
Her bed was a complete mess though.
"Why'd you bring Jack?!" Krystal whisper-yelled.
"If anyone could make you feel better, it'd be me and him." Sapphire stated. "So, how about you tell Jack what's going on."
"You didn't tell him?" Krystal asked.
"No." Sapphire shook her head. "I thought it'd be better if it came from your lips."
"Alright." Krystal sighed. "My parents...they want me to come back home."
"Like...a visit?" I asked.
"No. They want me to come home, and probably be homeschooled. They don't want me here in Hell High anymore." She sadly stated.
"Because of the field trip incident?" I asked.
"Yes." Krystal nodded. "And the whole ordeal with Duncan. But, I don't want to go! Not after all the fun I've had with you, Sapphire, and the others!"
Tears started to steam down Krystal's eyes. I quickly hugged her, rubbing her back in comfort. "Hey. Everything will be alright."
I hated this. What was I supposed to do? This wasn't like the situation with Duncan, where I could just fight someone and everything would sort itself out.
"No matter what happens, we'll still be your friends." I stated. "We'll keep in contact, and make sure to visit. I'll do everything I can to make sure you don't feel alone."
"Thank you..." Krystal sobbed in my chest. Sapphire lightly rubbed her back, sending a thankful smile towards me.
"Thank you." She whispered into my ear, sending shivers down my spine. "I'm not the best at comforting people."
She placed a light peck on my cheek, making my face instantly heat up.
Krystal then jumped off of me, quickly wiping her eyes with a gasp. "I just had an idea!"
"What is it?" Sapphire asked.
"I'll bring the two of you with me!" Krystal thought. "Both of you are great people, and are quite strong! Maybe you two can convince them to let me come back!"
"I wouldn't mind." Sapphire stated. She glanced over to me. "Are you fine with it?"
"Yeah." I nodded. "I don't know how much I can help, but if I can I will. I won't leave you hanging."
"Thank you Jack!" Krystal happily smiled. "Now we just go to get this approved by Madam Webb!"
Krystal rushed out of the room, not caring about the fact that her eyes were still red as she ran down the hallways towards Madam Webb's office. We hurried after her, talking as we ran.
"Jeez, she's chaotic as usual." Sapphire stated. "Still, I like this her more than earlier today. You should have seen her. She was the opposite of right now. She was so...depressed."
"I mean, it's a big deal." I nodded. "I just hope that we can actually do something. I'd hate if she had to leave."
"So you can keep your harem?" Sapphire smirked.
"What?! No!" I quickly denied. "I'd hate for her to leave if she didn't want to. And she's a precious friend."
"Just don't let her hear you say that." Sapphire giggled. "She'll try even harder to win you over."
Sapphire giggling is incredibly cute and always catches me off guard. I shook the thoughts out of my head as we arrived to the office.
Skullface stood outside of the office, standing guard. That's right, Madam Webb brought him back with us.
"Hey Skullface." I greeted.
"Hey Jack." Skullface nodded. "What brings you here?"
"We wanted to ask Madam Webb something." I replied. "Can we go in?"
"Let me see." Skullface knocked on the door three times. We heard an "okay!" from inside.
"What was that?" Sapphire asked.
"Code." Skullface stated. "You can go in."
He opened the door for us.
"Thanks." I nodded to him.
"No problem." He replied.
We entered the office. Madam Webb sat at her desk, looking at papers as her spider legs moved them around. Her desk was absolutely covered in papers.
"Headmaster." Sapphire and Krystal bowed.
"Please, I already told you Sapphire." Madam Webb stated. "You can call me Madam Webb in private. You too, Krystal."
"Thank you Hea-Madam Webb." Krystal nodded.
"No problem." Madam Webb smiled.
"Isn't that playing favorites?" I sweatdropped.
"Of course it is." Madam Webb's smile grew to a smirk. "Everybody has their favorites. Doesn't mean you'll get any special privileges though."
"So, what brings you here?" She asked.
"My parents want me to leave Hell High and return home." Krystal stated.
"Oh." Madam Webb sighed. "You too, huh? I'm sorry to hear that."
"But, I want to bring Jack and Sapphire with me for a couple days." Krystal stated. "So that they can try to convince my parents that I'll be safe and can return."
"Hmm.." Madam Webb hummed. "I can do that. It's a good thing that tomorrow is the weekend. I'll set something up now."
"Thank you!" Krystal happily bowed.
"No problem." Madam Webb smiled. "But I'd like you to bring Anna with you too. She'll help Jack and Sapphire, considering they've likely never been to the area of Hell your village is in."
"Anna has been there?" Krystal asked.
"Anna and John have done lots of traveling before." Madam Webb stated. "They've been to many places in Hell before. I think it'd be best if one goes with you just to make sure everything's fine."
"That's okay with me." Krystal nodded. "You two?"
"I don't mind." Sapphire stated.
"Same here." I added.
"Well of course you don't." Sapphire dryly stated.
"All right, I'll get it set up." Madam Webb stated. "You'll leave tonight, if that works."
"It does." We nodded.
I'm going to have to have Lilia tell our parents that I won't be able to see them this weekend...
"Alright." Madam Webb grinned. "And you might want to hurry before the next class starts. You have a minute." She pointed to the clock.
"OH NO!"
