"Your grandma is the Chieftess?" I asked Krystal as we follows behind her Mom who was dragging an unconscious Newton.
"Ah...I never did mention that, did I?" Krystal sheepishly replied. "Yeah, our family leads Shippo Village."
"But why is your Grandma the Chieftess?" Sapphire asked.
"Well, Grandma hasn't stepped down yet." Krystal stated. "But when she does, my Mom will become the next Chieftess."
As we followed Krystal's Mom, I realized we weren't heading towards her house. We were instead heading towards a "town hall" like building.
As we walked towards it, the other Kitsunes looked at us strangely. Probably due to the fact that Krystal's Mom was dragging an unconscious Newton.
Krystal's Mom pushed open the door. Inside was a large room, with an elevated desk on stage where Krystal's Grandma was sat. In front of the stage were a ton of chairs, all facing the stage.
Her Grandma's eyes were closed, taking in deep breaths. She opened them, looking towards us and giving us a small smile.
"Hello." She greeted.
"We have come for your counseling." Krystal's Mom stated.
"I thought so." She smiled. "And I see you've found the source of what was wrong."
"You knew?" Krystal gasped.
"No." Her Grandma shook her head. "Not until now. So, what happened?"
"He...he...tried to kill Jack." Krystal slowly stated, fighting back her tears. "So that he could take his place..."
"I see." Grandma sighed. "I never would have expected this from him, but I doubt Krystal would lie. Especially about something like this."
"You give confirmation?" Grandma asked, looking towards Krystal's Mom.
"I do." She nodded. "Newton's reactions to Jack's survival served as enough evidence, and there was no illusion being cast at that time."
"How sad." She sighed once more. "It's been a long time since we've had a troublesome Kitsune...give me a moment."
She closed her eyes, humming to herself. She seemed to start to meditate, sitting still. We watched her in silence, and a whole minute later she finally opened her eyes.
"So that's what happened." She mused.
"You...saw?" Anna asked, confused.
"With a little bit of guidance, the eyes can see many things usually unreachable." Her Grandma mystically replied. "Though this technique is quite tough and I won't be able to use it again for quite a while."
"But I needed to see the full picture for a matter as major as this." She stated. "Please wake Newton up."
Krystal's Mom slapped him in the face, causing him to gasp awake. He frantically looked around, eyes landing on Krystal's Grandma.
"Chieftess!" He cried, getting on his hands and knees.
"Newton...you have committed a grave offense." She stated. "Trying to harm another Kitsune...especially with it being my own granddaughter."
"I...I...I..." Newton stuttered.
"Do not try to weasel out of this." Her Grandma cut him off. "You have tried to commit murder on one of her friends, then tried to trick her into giving herself to you. This is horrendous."
"You are hereby banished." She decided. "Unless Krystal has any objections.
"W-what?" Newton gasped, looking at her Grandma in shock. He turned to Krystal, desperate. "Krystal, tell her! Sh-she can't do this to me?!"
Krystal avoided his eyes, biting back a sob. I gave her a smile and a pat on her back for reassurance.
"B-banish him." She muttered.
"N-no...Krystal..." Gasped Newton. His eyes turned to me angrily. "How dare-?!"
Krystal's Mom quickly hit him, knocking him back out. He collapsed to the floor, unconscious once more.
"Please, escort him out." Krystal's Grandma requested. "Make sure to tell the guards that he is no longer welcome into Shippo Village. We will inform the rest tonight."
"Alright." Krystal's Mom nodded. "I'm guessing you know about my next question?"
"I do." She smiled. "I saw it in the replay of those events. I will tend to it."
"Let me know your decision." She stated, before dragging Newton out of the building.
Her Grandma looked towards me. "Jackson Walker...this is our first meeting with me as the Chieftess, isn't it?"
"Yeah, before it was just Krystal's Grandma." I agreed.
Her Grandma chuckled. "Your honesty is an admirable trait. I wish to thank you. I saw what you did, and I saw it's honesty."
"Ah...it's no problem." I sheepishly replied.
"I truly appreciate it." She smiled. "And I'm sure that my granddaughter does as well. And I want to let you know, you are welcome back anytime you wish."
"Does that mean-?!" I gasped.
"It does." She nodded. "Krystal may return to Hell High with you. She obviously enjoys it, and I can trust you to keep her safe."
"I will." I agreed.
"Thank you Grandma!" Krystal happily said.
"It's no problem at all." She smiled. "It's to make my precious granddaughter happy."
"Now, I would like to speak to each one of you separately." She stated. "It's nothing to worry about."
"Alright." We nodded.
"Then, I'll start with you." She pointed to Anna. "Please come up. The rest of you can wait outside for a moment."
Sapphire, Krystal and I left, leaving Anna alone inside. We sat outside of the building, waiting for Anna and Grandma to finish talking. After a couple of minutes, Anna finally came out.
"What'd she say?" Krystal curiously asked.
"She thanked me for being your friend. And a little bit of...advice." Anna replied. "Some of it being about my fortune. Sapphire, you're up next."
"Alright." Sapphire nodded, standing up. She went inside, now leaving the three of us alone.
"Is everything alright?" I asked Anna.
"Everything's fine." She smiled at me. "Just a couple of things I need to think over."
After a couple of minutes Sapphire came out, looking shocked. "Is...everything alright?" Krystal slowly asked.
"She...wants me to be her successor." Sapphire stated, still in shock.
"What?! Really?!" Krystal gasped.
"Wait, does that mean Sapphire will become the next Chieftess...?" I asked, confused.
"No." Krystal shook her head. "Grandma is the only one out of us in the family with her unique powers. The fact that she wants Sapphire to be her successor means she'll be teaching that stuff to her."
"That's...wow." I replied, amazed. "That's really cool Sapphire!"
"Oh...thanks." Sapphire nodded. "I still can't believe it myself...alright Krystal, you're up."
She's saving me for last. I'm not sure if I should be glad or afraid. Krystal walked in, leaving us three by ourselves.
After a couple of minutes Krystal popped her head out. "Jack, come in!" She went back inside. Was she not coming back out...?
I looked towards the other two, who just shrugged in response. I took a deep breath, walking inside. I walked over to Krystal, standing next to her as I looked up to Grandma.
"Hello Jack." She smiled. "You're probably wondering why Krystal is here, aren't you?"
"Yeah, I am." I nodded.
"Before we get to our individual talk, there's one thing I would like to talk about with the both of you." She stated.
"Oh, alright." I replied.
"Jack, I would like to engage you to my granddaughter." She revealed.
"...eh?" Did I hear her correctly?
"Grandma?!" Krystal blushed, her four tails shooting straight up in surprise.
"Yes, I would like for you and Krystal to be engaged." She nodded.
"Wait, but I have-?!" I gasped, only to be cut off.
"Don't worry, it's taken care of." She mischievously smirked. "Here."
She flipped something to me. I caught it in my hands, looking down at it. It was a...
...a ring?!
"That makes you an honorary member of Shippo Village, now being my grandson-in-law." She smiled.
What?!
"Grandma!" Krystal shouted at her.
Yes, tell her Krystal!
"...thank you." She shyly blushed.
Krystal?!
"That's it." She smiled. "You can go outside now, Krystal."
"Okay!" Krystal happily skipped out of the building while I just stared at in her in shock.
"Aren't you happy, having such a cute fiancé?" She smirked.
"I mean she is cute-but that's not the point!" I replied. "You're okay with this?!"
"I am." She smiled. "But be careful about my daughter."
"Oh no." The color drained from my face.
She chuckled. "Don't worry, I have a feeling things will work out, even with your position of having a girlfriend and two fiancés."
"Wait...you know?!" I gasped.
I'm pretty sure I didn't tell her about Dawn!
"I must say, I was surprised when the Prince of The Dark Empire arrived with my granddaughter, though I think I hid it pretty well." She laughed behind her hand.
"Ah..." I sweatdropped. Keep forgetting that I'm now technically a prince as Dawn's fiancé...
"Everything will turn out fine." She smiled. "I think you are being overly kind, but that just hurts them. Don't forget, you are both a Prince and in Hell."
"Oh...alright..." I replied.
"Good talk." She giggled. "I feel good leaving my granddaughter in your hands. Oh, and I'd suggest meeting my husband today or tomorrow."
"I apologize for his actions last night, but you have seemed to catch his interest." She explained. "It may benefit you to visit him in his dojo."
"Okay...thank you." I bowed to her.
We completed our mission in coming here! Krystal will now be able to return to Hell High with us!
"No, thank you." She smiled. "Now, you may go along now. Good luck."
I nodded to her, leaving the building. Though I was wondering why she was telling me good...luck...
I exited to be face to face with an angry looking Kali. Krystal's Mom had her arms crossed, looking at me with a mighty glare.
"You are my daughter's WHAT?" She growled.
I audibly gulped.
She cracked her knuckles. "Better get to running, boy."
"I'M SORRY!!!!!!!"
