Tw in all chapters: Blood, Swearing, Abuse, Gore
Staring at the house in front of us made me want to weep as I had many cherished memories inside these walls. I stood beneath the dirt, reminiscing about the wonderful evocation I made at this wonderful home.
I gazed at the window, the rooms that were once filled with lights and furniture long gone. It was all dark and empty, and I couldn't sense the thrill of moving out. Maybe because I had always been in one place for the last eighteen years of my life.
"Do we really have to leave?" I asked, sucking on the dangling lollipop on my mouth without meeting my mothers gaze. "Are you not excited, (y/n)? Were finally moving to our dream house!" she shuns a bright smile towards me as she exclaimed.
I rolled my eyes and took the lollipop out of my mouth, "That house gives me the creeps, mom!" I shivered but my mother only ignored my complaints.
Since visiting that place, I wasn't able to let go of the clenching feeling of being watched at night and being followed whenever I walked down the streets in dark. With that, I always go near a populated area and carry pepper spray at all times.
A man around his 20s with dark hair and the same (e/c) color of eyes walked out of the porch and beckoned me over with a hand. "Oi! What are you doing standing there, (Y/n)? Help me out here!" Alex, my brother who was just two years older than me rolled his eyes and went inside.
"Just how many more are there?" I grunted, wishing to get this over with. Alex was starting to take action about moving out, and its coming nearer day by day. I'll miss him.
I went inside and saw the two men with the same blue suit moving the dark beige couch to the door, "Good evening." one in the front greeted. My mom walked in and looked at me, "(Y/n), get these gentlemen a glass of water, it's a hot day and we wouldn't want them dehydrated." my mom pushed me to the kitchen. I went inside and noticed that it was quite dim. The basket of fruits was no longer there, and the counter tops were surely empty.
I reached for the cabinet above me and began my search for cups. "Aha!" I rejoiced while snatching the two thin, plastic cups. I filled it up with water and went out of the kitchen, giving it to the two individuals.
I heard Alex called me upstairs once more, "Coming!" I shouted back as I hastily went up the stairs.
I peeked in his bedroom door and when he looked behind, ready to shout out my name once more he jumped. "Oh, fuck!" he accidentally shouted. "I heard that, Alex!" My father screamed from downstairs.
"Better keep your mouth shut, stupid." I laughed. "I can't when you look like the grudge," he passed me a box of what I assume to be his stuff, it was quite heavy.
Alex gazed at me, "You should try auditioning for one when they cast a new movie of it (y/n)! You would honestly be a hit." he gave me a sardonic smile and shooed me away from his room. "I'm not gonna put your belongings in the truck!" I said as I put the box on the floor and kicked it down the stairs.
"That's fine! It was your stuff anyway!" I heard his voice behind the door. Panic struck me like a thunderbolt and I began to race down the stairs to save my belongings. It might have been one of the antique goods I had or it might be something made out of glass.
I was unsuccessful with trying to catch up with my box full of goods and immediately took off the duct tape and looked inside. A suspire of relief overcame me as the things were all in tucked and no sight of porcelain nor glass was stored inside. It was only my books, most of them were twilight, and if it wasn't twilight then another vampire romance book.
After what felt like perpetual packing, we finished cramming the things inside the truck. My father went to the garage and took out the car, mom and Alex was still inside checking if we left anything else behind.
I stepped out of the porch, taking a few steps back to admire our home one last time, "I'm gonna miss this place." I said to myself as the cold breeze brushed through my shoulders. The dawn glimmered through my eyes with its mesmerizing sky.
"I will too." I heard my father commented. I turned my head behind as he beckoned me to get into the car.
I went inside and let my back sink into the cushy backrest, mom and Alex hurriedly got out of the porch and into the car. I plugged in my earphones and listened to the music as dad began to drive.
I stared at the window and looked at our abandoned home. As we got farther and farther away, the more flooded my head was by the memories I've made here.
I sat back and saw my mom stare at me in the rearview mirror, "You're gonna love our new home, honey!" she said with excitement and I couldn't do anything but smile, "Yeah" I agreed, already feeling homesick.
During the trip, my eyelids felt heavy as I let myself slip into a deep slumber.
"Oh my, you're divine." I heard a voice echo. It was definitely a male, with its deep, velvety voice that sang through my ears. Here I stood, in front of nothing but a white void. When I look up, there was no sky, but a light that shun bright like pearl white.
"Hello?" as my word got out, it echoed throughout the endless void but still fell on deaf ears as no one answered. "Where are you?" I asked as my eyes darted left and right, up and down but there was no one in sight. I really shouldn't ask where they are, but rather ask where I am.
"Am I dead?" I asked but deep inside I could feel my gut twist, feeling regret for even asking. Just like before, there was no answer. "Don't be like that! You're quite rude to ignore me you know!" I fumed, feeling annoyed that I have unanswered questions. I confess, my patience is as thin as a thread.
But my anger slowly drained away and was replaced with regret instead, "Actually...can we just pretend that you didn't hear me say that creepy voice? I mean! whoever you are! I don't wanna go to hell," I bit my lip.
Unexpectedly, I heard an echo of one footstep. I turned around as the white void started becoming dark, "I didn't mean it!" I yelled and just before I could even run hands cinched my waist as I froze in place. It felt cold to the touch.
I could hear a deep chuckle behind me and just before I could turn around I felt his tongue lick my neck, "I want you." that same velvet voice said in a whisper.
I felt his hand on my chin, preventing me to look at him. His touch was bitterly-cold. "Welcome home." his laugh began to echo until it slowly drained away, the void launching to eat me. I ran but was no use of it as I screamed.
"Wake up, (y/n)!" I suddenly heard Alex's voice. He nudged me on the shoulder as I fluttered my eyes open. I got up and yawned and saw no one but Alex beside me with the car door open.
"We're here." he said and got out of the car as I followed suit. It was a two-story home, and standing in front of it made me antsy. "It's bigger than I thought." I said, "What do you expect from a mansion, (y/n)?" Alex commented. I stepped up the stairs of the loggia, the exterior looks similar to our old home and it gave me instant nostalgia.
I looked behind me and saw a woman in her late 40s, her hair was the color of a raven, it almost blends in with the night sky.
We made eye contact, her eyes wide as a circular plate as she back away with her hand pulling her child. They began to walk faster and it only added up to my list of why this place might be haunted.
Number one was that the estate agent told us that this was a very old building that belonged to a man, and only him. He would only come out at night and come home with one maiden after another and never to be seen in daylight.
Basically, this home was owned by a bloodthirsty killer. Maybe a handsome one since he always have ladies within his grasps.
While this home was frightened by many, rumor always circulate around with it.
One being that the man still lives here until today, his figure can be seen in front of the window at night, smoking on a tobacco pipe. Its probably why most of our neighbors are afraid to even come up to us.
When mom opened the doors, my breath was taken away by its beauty. When we first saw this house, it was quite the fixer-upper as it was put in the description.
Dust was everywhere, tiles were misplaced or broken and peeled wallpapers. The estate agent told us about the basement, one of the problems in this house. No matter what they do, they just couldn't open it so it was quite a mystery.
But now its beautiful inside. At the left is where our dining area would be, it had a wide, open entrance and with big windows.
To the right was where our kitchen would be. It would be more lovely if we were done unpacking our stuff and putting the furniture in place. Our home wasn't this big and grand, but I could see the happiness in my parents eyes.
This must be a huge accomplishment for them, I know how much they've worked hard to get this place.
"(Y/n), you can go up to your bedroom upstairs, your things are already inside there." mom said and gave me a kiss on the forehead, "Love you mom and dad." I smiled as they both said I love you back.
"Oh! And your bedroom is on the left side!" mom added and I nod in reply. Alex already went up the stairs before me and was probably asleep for how late it is.
I went up the stairs at the middle of the room and looked around, seeing nothing but empty corners and windows.
I went to my left and there I saw a sticky note, "(Y/n)'s room" it read. I couldn't help but notice how pretty these cursive letters are, I never paid attention at how appealing my mother's handwriting was and here I was back then making my dad do the excuse letters for my school.
I took it off the door and crumbled it up on my hand, thanks mom you just told me I though to myself.
I went inside my room and was greeted by innumerable amount of boxes and a double bed, its sheets the color of (f/c) and a warm, (f/c), quilt blanket.
It felt like an invitation to paradise as I dived onto the bed, its softness making me feel warm and comfortable. "Now, let's just hope I have a good sleep." I said to myself as a yawn escape from my mouth, it was as if my sleep during the trip here was nothing.
Then again, I won't complain. This place still gives me the chills.
