The pale crescent moon shone like a silvery claw in the night sky in the middle of a blanket of stars that stretched to infinity. Not single stir of an animal or person was heard among the midst of the night.
The gentle cold breeze howled softly and the wooden boards creaked.
I sat on the internal window sill of the room, my back leaned against the firm oak wood and my right leg dangled down from the sill while the other stretched in an arch. I stared silently out the window and into the quiet streets of the village.
The very moon shining down a natural light that outlines the wooden buildings. Not a single soul was seen wandering the dirt road except for the little rodents that scurried the ground.
The village itself was peaceful.
I took a long relaxed sigh and rested my head against the wall. The whispers from the forest still echoed in my head clearly.
'He is coming' Who is coming, is what I wondered but I couldn't wrap my head around of who it was neither did I read about a certain someone in the book. 'Could there be something that was never mentioned in the novel?'
'They are coming' What is coming? could it be the Orcs? Did they already find a way out? No that's impossible they don't escape until the end of the first book which is months away in this time. It's definitely a warning that is what I know, but why warn me? I'm not staying around to the witness the battle between of Orcs and Humans once again. I'm going home just like I promised.
They should Ariana. Ariana is the chosen prophecy girl and I'm just a imposter inhabilitating someone's body without their consent.
I don't why everything is confusing all of a sudden. Things don't match up with the novel anymore, it's as if this world is of its own now. It frustrated me and I wanted pull my hair from my head. But then again I can't continue on going with the flow of the novel, everything is changing because of me and I must accept the fact I can't lead on with the story like the beginning. From now on I must rely on whatever the future brings but it doesn't mean I can't rely on information provided about the world and the history of it from the boom especially the character
My brain wasn't functioning to think any further, so I left my thoughts there and closed my eyes for the sleep ahead of me.
"keep your face away from me you dirty pig" I heard the sleepy grumble of Homura, opening my eyes slightly to glance to the side to look at Jackal sleeping soundly on the bed like a normal kid while Homura was sprout out like a flower on top of Jackal not like a normal fox, kicking his paw as he sleep talked. "You metal humans come at me" he grumbled before snapping his snout shut as if he bit something which I didn't want to think what.
I snorted. "Stupid fox," I mumbled.
It was nice when these two are sleeping and it's quite without Jackal and Homura bickering back and fourths in my ear. I wish it was like this forever, peace and quiet.
As I was about to shut my eyes again, I Immediately saw something move in the shadows from the corner of my eye. My head swiftly turned towards the window, eyes darting left and right scanning the village from the glass while I jolted forward from the wall to get a better look at the village surroundings.
I know I saw something quickly jump into the shadows when it saw me turn their way. They disappeared completely from my sight and I couldn't see them anywhere no matter how hard I looked and searched in the dark.
Whoever it was, must know how to hide from sight especially me.
I slid out my Kunai out from the side of my thigh and held it firmly in my hand. Someone was definitely following us and I didn't have a doubt in my mind who it might be.
Edmond the douchebag.
I wouldn't be surprised if it is him following us, who else would follow me all the way from Aureum then to Ventus then here in this little remote village?
That would be the forgetful young prince of Terra, Edmond the douchebag. Not to mention his minions.
I can't use my senses to pinpoint his location as I am in the top floor of an inn and not on the earthy ground to be able to feel his presence or his minions.
I looked over at the two sleeping dimwits on the bed. It wouldn't be smart leaving them alone here if the Spades are out there watching us, they might take the chance to take them hostage if I'm not present.
I relaxed myself back on the wall. If they were to come here in the middle of the night, I will be ready to attack them. It's not like they can win against me with martial arts.
'I'll deal with them in the morning. I'm too tired to do anything and if he dares to enter this room. I'll just kill him...maybe'
As I watched from inside the room, I could not see another movement at all as if he just vanished. My eyelids began to get heavy as I slowly nodded off to sleep.
"Mother, Mother" the sound of an innocent child brought attention to the woman who sat comfortable on a garden chair with a hard covered book in her hands. Her icy blue eyes glanced up at the little boy that ran towards her, a beaming smile on his face while he ran with a wooden sword grasped firmly within his palm.
The corner of her lips twisted into a grin with a brow raised up and she closed her book."Lorcan, you little brat. Are you slacking off your training?" she said amusingly.
Lorcan the little boy flinched with a nervous sweat, chuckling awkwardly as he averted his eyes. "Why does mother states that? My training finished ages ago" he lied.
"Has anyone told you what a bad lier you are? Little brother" Lorcan narrowed his eyes at the older looking boy who sat on the other side of the garden table with a small book in his hand, not even looking his way when he spoke but continued reading with that cold aura of his surrounding him.
His soft white hair shining like the light of the moon under the rays of the sun, just like his mothers except he resembled his father the emperor. looking like a younger version of the great emperor but his personality could not be fondly spoken of.
"You should tell yourself that" Lorcan pouted, his cheeks turning a slight red.
Sharp eyes glanced back that sparked a little chill down the little brother's spine. "I advanced quicker than you and earned my right to have my share of break, unlike you who is completely slow and..." distance eyes examined Lorcan up and down, his aikidōgi was a still clean indicating he wasn't training at all. With a raise of a thin brow, he continued "Stupid".
"Hey!"
"Ray, don't be harsh on your little brother. He may not be smart as you but" the mother stood up, strolled over towards Lorcan and bent down, eye level to his blue eyes that resembled hers. "His a courageous little boy" she ruffled his soft hair.
Ray rolled his eyes and continued reading.
"I think Artemis has gone blind and stupid after marrying that dumb important human of the humans" Homura who was laying beside Ray's garden chair whispered, a sweat drop dropping down his temple.
"What a wonder that even a fox has the same thoughts as I have." Ray turned the page agreeing with the orange fox. "My half evolved troll of a father does not deserve my beautiful and smart mother. He clearly is out of her league"
"but somehow finds a way to mate with her" Homura sticks his tongue out in disgust.
"My mother has clearly gone stupid for falling for such a man." Ray shook his head and so did Homura."What a waste of a beautiful mother".
As Artemis flicked Lorcan's brow, a cold breeze suddenly past her and she felt a sudden weary feeling. Looking towards the direction of the wind, her heart dropped to see her eldest son gone and not a single sign of her friend, Homura. No one sat on the garden furniture as it stood their empty and cold, covered in piles of snow and icy.
The flower bushes had withered away into brown twigs that layered itself with snow and the breeze rowed furiously.
"Ray! Homura!" She jolted up, a panic rising in her heart. "Lorcan!" she searched for her youngest son too who also had disappeared and the ground he stood was now covered in a blanket of snow.
A blizzard of snow roared past her and she sheltered herself, the icy water pierced her cheeks cold. When it slowed down, she slowly picked her head up what stood in front of her brought a tense fear in her eyes and her mouth went dry.
"You were supposed to go home" the bitter voice of a white haired woman stood in a pile of snow. Her white dress flowing with the rhythm of the wind. Her lips was a tint of blue and those piercing icy blue eyes was very familiar to her.
Artemis staggered back, tripping over the snow and falling back on her butt. The very icy air had clogged her throat preventing her from speaking.
"You were supposed to return to me" she hissed, raising a palm out.
A blaze of snow howled angry at her as the woman who identify as the lost soul of Diana turned into a icy queen.
"Give back what rightfully belongs to me!"

Hello my beloved readers, it is I. Your beloved author of this novel, YUKI!!
I must apologise for a very late chapter update and the fact I disappeared for nearly three weeks without a explanation. I was in a writers block and couldn't think straight especially with my homework being homework and all.
but I hope this chapter sparked your interest again.
And a question that would around your heads tell the end of my book. Is this future Artemis sees in her dreams real or just an illusion of her future choices. Why did she abandoned her hopes of finding a way home or was it fear of not able to find a way home that forced her to stay? Who did she marry? Who knows really?
Stay tuned to find out.
I love you guys.
Bye bye for now.
