Ciel had felt the long hard stares that was boring the side of his head and turned his head to look at me. When he laid his warm gaze and those ocean blue eyes sparkled, he smiled an awkward toothy grin.
"Ahh sorry but is there something on my face?" Ciel asked with embarrassment, his voice hinting his discomfort.
I blinked back but not bothering to look away from his enchanting eyes that had managed to hypnotise the fairy in thinking I was her enemy. "No, I was just in a daze" I said nonchalantly, my expression emotionless as I crossed my feet and placed my hand on my cheek, bored and annoyed. What's with this world and it's handsome boys? Why can't it donate some to Earth?
His head titled to the side by a little, like a curious puppy. Ciel's ocean eyes watched me silently and before I knew it a little smile perched the corner of his mouth.
"What?" I rose a questionable brow as I crossed my hands against my chest. This dragon man liked to get on my nerves even though it has only been like what? At least 30 minutes since I met him.
"Nothing, I was just in a daze for a moment" the orange handsome man commented back with a cheerfully smile. That prideful look in his eyes when he smiled happily as if he just won an argument between the both of us.
My nose wrinkled in annoyance.
Ciel realised what he said had annoyed me and he averted his eyes away in embarrassment, rubbing the back of his neck for any sort of distraction. His attempt of trying to do what I did before back to me had failed miserably.
No one in this world can shoot my words back at me and succeed on doing so.
I ignored him and looked over to his shoulder where the little fairy, I forgot her name, sat on his shoulder. Eyeing me dangerously as if she was going to kill me when I go to sleep tonight. In return I stared her down with a calm and unfazed expression.
She twinkled in annoyance and whipped her head away, her nose stuck up in the air.
The audacity of this fairy!
And the power this man holds is terrifying. I must stay away from him as much as possible.
I must run away from him.
We didn't get any further in anything nor spoke about anything else when Jackal slowly rose up, his facial expression was one like someone had seen the terror of war. His face went pale as if he seen a ghost. He didn't move a muscle and sat there quietly while his eyes replayed a scene of horror.
"Oh, look here, the human cub rose from the dead" Homura said sarcastically, rolling his amber eyes in annoyance. "How wonderful to have you back in the realm of the living." He then side eyed Jackal. The cunning fox didn't seem all that happy to see Jackal conscious again.
That irritation from before came crawling back to light and my lips twisted to a frown as my eye twitched. "You got a lot of explaining to do brat."
Jackal flinched back to reality when he heard me. His terrified gaze locked with my cold blue eyes and tears began to coat his silver eyes. "I'm sorry" he sniffed, lips trembling and his big eyes becoming one like a little whimpering puppy. "I wanted to help but the way the man held himself upon you brought back memories I tried to forget" he attempted to justify himself but his lack of information wasn't getting him anywhere except for my bad side.
Homura slowly turned his head, giving the kid an expression of horror and confusion. His little snout agape, big enough for a bird to nest in. Ciel on the other hand went deadly silent as he stared into the unknown, face stunned in the that state of realisation while I tried to comprehend what I just heard right now.
'What the fuck did I just hear?' this kid's trauma. Oh my god.
"It was that night when I again managed to escape from the royal guards by stumbling into a room." He continued on whether we liked it or not. My mouth opened into a huge 'o' in horrified disgust when I realised what Jackal meant and where he was leading to with his explanation. Out of all the things in the world why does it have to be this?
Ciel had his hand against his mouth and he tried not to die from humiliation. I tried to compose myself and prevented myself from pouncing this man and killing him.
"I saw a naked man on top of a naked woman and her hands were pinned above her by him just like he did to you" Jackal pointed to Ciel. The orange hair dude blinked back, rubbed down his face with the hand that was against his mouth before clearing his throat, turning away his eyes from everyone and looking to his right where there was no one to make him more uncomfortable than he already was.
This kid. This kid. This kid. WHAT THE FUCK DID HE STUMBLED INTO THAT PARTICULAR ROOM FOR!
I was going to explode from fury. I get this kid saw something he shouldn't have but opening up about it and reimaging it on me and this guy is out of the question and I will not sit here and listen to him any further.
"Shut up. I don't want to hear it anymore" I instantly spoke up before he said anything else that may have ended in Ciel's death.
"He tried to kill her by putting his penis inside of her!" He wailed loudly ignoring my words as he shrieked in utter horror and his hands slapped to his cheeks and clawed them down. His scream could be heard from miles away.
I chocked on my own salvia when I heard what he had said after and I was sent to a swirling whirlpool of stupefied confusion. Ok I take back what I said this kid is far to innocent to understand the whole point of having a dick inside a vagina thing to know that its natural thing for a man or woman to do when they are in love. Unless it's a completely different situation.
He probably heard the girl moaning and the whimpers she moaned out as well as her tears that he thought of something else.
Poor innocent kid doesn't understand sex. That's fine I'll tell him about it later but for now.
Ciel snorted back a cry of laughter, he must have found it surprising to hear such a thing like that but he didn't get far as he instantly slapped a hand to his mouth when he saw my deadening cold glare that shot towards him. Homura on the other hands wasn't helping the case and he burst out laughing in Ciel's stead instead. His whole body falling back and landing on his spine with a faint thud as he laughed hysterically. Paws waving around as he laughed out loudly. That fox couldn't even make a sentence out of his words because of the constant laughter that erupted out.
It was an unexpected call from Jackal that had made it seem funny to everyone except for me. I was in a mixed state of horror, shocked, dumbfounded, annoyed, angry and every other word that comes in those dialect. I wish someone can just kill me right now and get it over and done with.
I thought by his age he should know at least about sex especially growing up in the streets of Taivas, and in an ancient world where brothels were common and not illegal.
But coming to terms, this kid was somehow sheltered from all of this and still manages to come with something so ridiculous.
"I thought he was going to kill you with his penis!" Jackal shouted again and this time succeeding on pissing me off even more than I already was.
Ciel coughed out and I heard a rupture of infuriating bells being rung.
A vein popped out of the corner of my temple and my lips scowled in annoyance. "Ok that's enough!" I jumped up from my sitting position and proceeded to storm my way to Jackal. The kid just couldn't stop crying and wailing as the unexpected trauma continued to eat him up. I snatched the back collar of his cloak and pulled him on his feet. He couldn't hold himself up so he melted back down.
I tried to hold him up again but his body wobbled like jelly. "It was terrible" he muttered with sobs.
"This human brat HAHAHAHA is so dumb HAHAHA! I can't! I CAN'T BREATH!" Homura wheezed with laughter as every sentence he finally managed to say came out with howls of breathless laughter.
Ciel shifted awkwardly in his stance before he stood up and shuffled the back of his hair. "I um I have know idea how to um say to this. It was unexpected" his face flushed from embarrassment and he stammered in his own words. Ciel was trying to keep a straight face but it was uncomfortable for him as it was for me. Oddly he found it funny a second ago now he was just plain embarrassed as wells as uncomfortable with the situation.
"Neither do I" I said with a flat tone as I released the back collar of Jackal's cloak and watch him drop to the floor and onto his back again. He continued to sob pitifully to himself, moving his head side to side as if he was having a nightmare.
I couldn't care less what he was going through right now because I had my own problem to deal with, as with Homura's annoying laughter ringing in my ear like a damn mosquito having a singing concert around me. I lost all my patience with anyone.
Homura laughter died down when he looked at Jackal's state. He grimaced and gaged. "Move this inferior creature away from me. His ruining my glow of beauty."
Homura wasn't making it better with his comment.
I swear the first punch to lay on someone's cheek would be to anyone who dares to say another word.
My main problem is with Ciel, Demarcus' keeper. The orange dimwit I met ages ago when I was trying to find a dragon that was willing to take me to Ventus which ended to be a disaster yet a successful mission in the end.
It doesn't make sense to why he is here and not back at Aureum with Demarcus. I'm sure the dragon returned back home by now. It's been what? A couple of weeks? I don't know I lost count.
So, for him to magically teleport right in front of me with magic that no human in Alphyria have or know of depending on if they are some nerdy magician or warlock, which in sense he probably used the same teleporting crystal I used to get to Taivas in Ventus. This all leads back to Elisaria, that old witch in the cottage in the dark forest of Viridis.
He did mention her name before. So, I am right with my theory but the real question is, what was he doing there and not with Demarcus?
A tight feeling in my gut turned and I felt a sense of uneasiness coming from all this. I didn't like it one bit.
Did something happened to Demarcus when I left? No, Elisaria wouldn't hurt him, knowing her for a short amount of time she didn't seem like the type to, especially when she helped me when she could have killed me and took all my stuff for herself.
Maybe Demarcus was still healing and Ciel coincidently stumbled upon him when he was probably out searching for the missing dragon. Although even if he did there is no reason to why Ciel is here unless he is here to arrest me and take me back to Aureum for kidnapping a dragon that was not entirely my intention to.
I tasted something bitter in the back of my throat and my uneasiness sank deeper. I'm feeling like there is something not right here and my interpretation is all wrong.
I turned to look at him. He was looking somewhere else as he tried to avoid any sort of eye contact with me. His cheeks were a flushed shade of red.
I blame him for all this misunderstanding.
And for Edmond who is probably hiding somewhere in the woods watching us, has gotten a good show out of all this. That bastard is my other problem. I want to see how far he can go without realising that I know he is there. I will humiliate him by doing so.
But for now, I must turn my attention elsewhere.
"You know of my fake identity as Artemis Ray" I began cautiously so I don't slip up anything that may get Edmond to doubt of who truly is in this body. I must tread carefully on this thin ice I'm walking on.
It wasn't a surprise that Ciel knew of my real name from my past life as it was one that I used everywhere I went instead using this body's real name, Diana Lancaster. Since he for some unknown reason came to know of Elisaria, that old witch living alone in the dark forest of Viridis than it made sense she must have told him about my sudden encounter to her place and mentioned my name to him. Although Ciel is from Aureum and he knows of Diana and he knows that the only Isvand with silver white hair living in Aureum is Diana so there is no reason for him to mistake me for some other Isvandy. So if he knew who I was, why did he proceed to call me by my real name? Something doesn't add up here.
Ciel's head turned quickly and his sharp gaze looked dead into my eyes. He looked surprised. "Fake?" his voice was one of uncertainty as if he didn't understand why he was wrong. This made me feel uneasy.
He should have commented about this body's real identity and my soul's identity but he didn't.
I inspected him thoroughly. I couldn't read what was going through his mind. I should probably change the subject of my name in case something was to slip up and Edmond hears it. Neither did I want to deal with something so trivial when there was more important matters in hand like why this man is here.
I sighed deliberately, pinching the bridge of my nose to act on my frustration. "Look" I started my conversation. "If you came to me about the dragon then you should know he isn't here with me. I left him behind with Elisaria that old cottage lady back at the dark forest." I gestured my head back.
It was that sudden change of expression on his face that made my heart sink. The sorrowful gaze when his face drowned with grief before those enchanting blue eyes of his glimmered back down at the ground.
I swallowed back. I denied what I began to think it was. "...Have you come to arrest me for taking a dragon without payment? Or is that you people see it as stealing when I clearly am not at fault for what happened at the barracks?" please be that reason. Please be that reason!
"...No" he said softly. His tone was sad and he seemed to fighting back his tears.
Shit! Did something happened to Demarcus when I left?
My heart was heavy and it pounded inside my chest. That feeling of loss that I thought I wouldn't have to experience again in my lifetime and returned.
"Then what is it?" I said. My hand trembled but I clenched it into a fist.
Ciel's body stiffened and he turned his body towards me. He clicked his tongue in anger and looked at me. Those warm ocean eyes had turned dark with anger and a familiar aura began to surround him.
I knew from the moment he looked at me, I wasn't ready for what I was about to hear.
"Demarcus has been regarded as a rogue dragon by the ministry of dragon and he is sentenced to death for the rampage in the dragon barracks and for the murder of devouring a human."
