Krishna used his power of telepathy to contact Karna. Karna knew that Duryodhana went to fight with Jarasandha alone and he was sure that Duryodhana could never defeat him. But he was very angry with Duryodhana so he did not try to stop him. but when Krishna contacted him and asked him to come to the Magadha border he said, 'Prabhu, let him suffer as my family is suffering. I tried to change him many times, but he and his royal ego.... I am just tired with his pride.'

Krishan. 'Karna a dharmavaan person like you should never leave their friends in danger. I know you are angry but it is your destiny to fight this battle.'

Karna never wanted to decline Krishna's invitation and he always had a soft corner in his mind for Duryodhana, so left Hastinapur and went to the Magadha border to meet him. In the camp, they decided that the army of Dwarka would attack Jarasandha's army on the border during the ritual while Karna and Krishna would enter into the temple and challenge Jarasandha to a one-to-one fight. Karna would fight with Jarasanda and thus they could save the kings and princes.

In the morning Karna went to the bank of the river for Suryapuja. Suryadev himself came to bless him, 'My son, today is a big day for you. You are going to start your battle against the adharmis for which you were born. I am blessing you, Vijai Bhava.'

Karna, 'Thank you Pitashri, but I am a little tensed as I don't know how to kill him. Everyone says that he is immortal.'

Suryadev, 'No one is immortal my son. Do you know how he was born? Just remember the story during the fight.'

Saying that Suryadev left. Karna returned to Krishna's tent and asked him about the mystery of Jarasandha's birth. Then Krishna told him the story that how Jarasandha was born half from two mothers and a demoness named Jara joined him.

Later according to the plan, Dwarka's army attacked Magadha. Hearing that Jarasandha ordered most of his soldiers to defend the border. Only a few of the guards were left at the temple. Then Jarasandha started the ritual and ordered the guards to bring the kings and princes whom he imprisoned. Jarasandha ordered his executioner to sacrifice Duryodana first. When the executioner tried to behead Duryodhana, an arrow pierced into his chest.

Everyone was shocked and they saw two horse raiders were coming on their way. When they came closer everybody was shocked to see Krishna and Karna. The guards tried to stop them but Karna used 'Sahastravan' where a single arrow was multiplied into thousands and killed the guards. Jarasandha was enraged. He shouted, 'Krishna, how dare you to come to my kingdom. A sly fox you like never fight like a true warrior in the battlefield but comes to attack like a coward.'

Karna (shouted),' Shut up you wretched man. You called Vasudev a coward....while you used black magic to torture your subjects and kill innocents. Today you will be punished for your deeds.'

Jarasandha,' Who are you? How dare you intervene in my yagna? I am not going to leave you?'

Krishna, 'Shant Radheya, Don't waste your energy on him now. Jarasandh...you want a fair fight, okay then let's have a one-to-one fight. If you win, we will accept defeat and you can do whatever you want with us. But if we win then it will the end of your evil reign.'

Jarasandha (laughing), ' Ha Ha....fight you, Krishna I don't want to fight with you as fighting with a coward shepherd is against my dignity.'

Karna (angrily), 'Then why don't you fight with me Samrat?'

Jarasandha, 'Who are you, young man, you seem like a strong warrior?'

Karna, 'My identity is not important Samrat but my skill is. Come on to the fighting ring. Or are you scared?'

Jarasandha (in mind), 'This man has a different aura, he cannot be an ordinary human being. His aura is pure almost like a Dev. If I can make this dharmvaan person my slave, then the Asurraj will be very happy.' (aloud), 'Okay I will fight with you, but remember one thing, no one can defeat me and after I win I will not only sacrifice all those 100 kings and princes but also kill that Krishna and make you my slave.'

Karna, 'Let's see who shall win.'

Then Karna and Jarasandha started fighting. First Jarasandha attacked him with a mace. Both of them were strong. Then Karna hit Jarasandha and broke his mace. Then Jarasandha took out a sword and attacked Karna. Karna dodged his attack and fought with him. After few minutes Karna's powerful stroke broke Jarasandha's sword into pieces. Then Jarasandha attacked him and tried to defeat him in wrestling. Jarasandha was considered the best wrestler in Aryavart. But Karna threw him in the ground. He saw that Krishna took a leaf and tore it into two halves. Karna remembered the story of Jarasandha's birth, so he held Jarasandha's one foot and pressed his own feet in Jarasandha's other foot to apply pressure. Then he tore Jarasandha's body into two equal halves. But his body parts were joined together again. Karna was surprised to see that. Karna looked at Krishna who again tore a leaf and threw them on opposite sides. Karna understood the sign so he again tore him apart and threw the two halves into two opposite sides. Thus he managed to kill Jarasandha. Seeing their king's death all the remaining guards ran away. In the meant time Dwarka's soldiers won over Maghad's army.

Krishna freed all the kings and princes. He freed Duryodhana and told him, 'Prince Duryodhana, thank God you are okay. If anything happens to you Mata Gandhari will kill herself.'

Duryodhana also felt ashamed. He insulted Karna but his friend came to save him and his brothers while his own Mama and Aswatthama deserted him. He wanted to apologize to Karna but Karna left the battlefield taking his leave from Krishna and without giving Duryodhana a glance. Duryodhana was heartbroken. He thought, 'He must be very angry at me, that is why he left without even talking to me. But Mitra I will bring you back.'

The next day Duryodhana and Kauravas returned to Hastinapura. Shakuni and Aswatthama already returned there and gave the news of Duryodhana's and Kauravas imprisonment. Both Dhritarashtra and Gandhari were crying and the Kuruelders were planning to attack Magadh. But everyone was happy when they saw the princes returned unharmed.

Duryodhana entered the royal court. Everyone welcomed them and King Dhritarashtra congratulated him for defeating Jarasandha. But Duryodhana said, 'Pitashri, I cannot take the credit of this victory.'

Dhritarashtra, 'I know son, Vasudev must have helped you to defeat Jarasandha. But where is he?'

Duryodhana, 'Maharaj, Vasudev is still in Magadha. He needs to appoint ministers and other workers to take care of the kingdom until they have a new ruler. But it is not Vasudev who killed Jarasandha. It is Karna, my friend who did this miracle.'

Drona, 'What... that Sutputra, what was he doing there?'

Duryodhana, 'He went there with Vasudev to help me. We all will be sacrificed in Jarasandha's yagna but thanks to him, he killed Jarasandha and saved us.'

Then he narrated the entire incident that how they were defeated and then Karna and Krishna stopped the yagna, how Karna defeated Jarasandha and tore him into two pieces. Everybody was stunned to know about Karna's strength.

Drona, 'How dare that sutputra went to the battle? Doesn't he know that Suta's are not allowed to fight with the kings?'

Vidur (angrily), 'Guru Drona can you please stop this? That man risked his own life to protect our Princes and instead of praising him, you are insulting him. Your own son ran away from the battlefield deserting his prince and here you are badmouthing Karna. Before saying anything bad about that boy please remember that he is the best student of Parshuram. Your own Guru will not like it if you insult his best student.'

Dhritarashtra, 'You are right mahamantri Vidur. We all should be thankful to Karna. Putra Duryodhana please invite him to the palace. I want to meet him.'

Duryodhana, 'Okay pitashri.' (in mind), 'I don't know if he will come or not. He is angry with me, but still, he saved me. Today I realized kakasri's words, he is really my true friend. I shall apologize to him. I will show him that I also can be a good person.'

Thinking that Duryodhana went to his room. There Shakuni and Aswatthama were waiting for him. seeing them Duryodhana became very angry, 'Wow, here are my Mamashri and me friend. You left me there to die and yourselves came back here.'

Shakuni, 'Bacche, I came here to bring back up. Otherwise, we all will be caught and Jarasandha will kill us all.'

Duryodhana (irritated), Yeh yeh whatever. But what about you my friend. You yourself said that you are the greatest archer. Then why did you run away from the battlefield? You said we don't need that sutputra. It is the sutputra that saved me and my brothers.'

Aswatthama, 'Mitra I don't have my Brahhmmastra that's why I cannot save you.'

Duryodhana. 'Please don't give excuses. Now just leave me alone.'

Duryodhana promised himself that he would somehow make Karna his friend again. So the next day in the morning he went to Karna's house. Everyone was shocked to see Prince Duryodhana in their village. Adhirath invited him inside and said that Karna was busy in the workshop. Karna was fixing a wheel of a chariot when Duryodhana came there.

Duryodhana, 'Umm.....mitra...Karna..I want to talk to you.'

Karna. 'Prince Duryodhana you came to the wrong address. It is a house of a poor charioteer, your mitra does not stay here. And it is not good for a prince to come to a Suta's house.'

Duryodhana, 'please mitra....I know what I said that day was wrong. Can you not forgive your friend?'

Karna, 'No Prince Duryodhana, you are not my friend. In fact, I am grateful that you make me realize the truth that a prince can never be a friend of a poor charioteer. I am sorry that I thought you as my friend.'

Duryodhana (almost crying), 'Please mitra....don't punish me like this. I realized what you tried to say and you are right.'

Karna, 'Prince Duryodhana relationships can be a joke for you royalties but for poor people like us, this is a sacred thing. We love and cherish every relation of our life. You are a prince, you can buy anything you want with your money, so go and buy a friend for yourself. Please don't bother me.'

Duryodhana (shouting), 'If you are angry with me then why did you go to Magadh to protect me and my brothers? Why did you risk your own life to fight with that Jarasandha? Why did you kill him?'

Outside the workshop Adhirath- Radha and Karna's other siblings were shocked to hear that. they knew that Karna went somewhere, but they had no idea that he went to Magadh to fight with Jarasandha.

Karna, 'Because Vasudev asked for my help, that is why. And I cannot see anyone die in front of my eyes so I challenged Jarasandha and killed him.'

Duryodhana understood that Karna lied. During the fight, he saw the concern in Karana's eyes. He knew Karna still cared for him so he suddenly hugged Karna. Karna was shocked and then said, 'Prince Duryodhana I love and care for everyone. One cannot be a warrior unless he is a good human being. Caring for others is not a weakness, it needs immense strength.'

Duryodhana said, 'I understand mitra....please forgive me. Come back. You are the only true friend I have.'

Karna smiled, 'Okay but one condition....never ever take the path of jealousy and hatred. Otherwise these emotions will burn you alive.'

Duryodhana, 'Promise....now please come. Mata and Pitashri want to thank you personally.'

Karna, 'Okay I will but not today. I have to finish some works for my father.'

Duryodhana, 'But Mitra why do you need to do these works. I can give you money, jewels. You can live like a king in the city. In fact, I will tell Pitashri to make you the king of Magadha. You will be a good king .'

Karna started laughing, 'What....you want to make me a king? Ha ha are you mad Mitra? No one will accept a sutputra as a king.'

Duryodhana, 'Why not? if they can accept an adharmi like Jarasandha as their king....if they can tolerate his torture, then why not you? You can be far better than any Kshatriya ruler.'

Karna, 'Because my friend everyone is not as tolerant as you. It will take time to show them that the caste system is wrong. and I don't want any gifts from you because whatever I did, I did for friendship, not for any favors. Karna doesn't need an crown or thrones to serve his peope.'

So Karna promised Duryodhana that he would go to the palace the next day after Duryodhana left Radha came to Karna, 'Karn, what is all these? Yoy don't even inform us that you went to Magadha to kill Jarasandha. What do you think of yourself? So now you are hiding things from your own mother.

Krishna smiles, 'That's the heart of a mother. She knows that her son is a demi-god but still cares for him.'

Karna, 'Radhama, I am sorry. Please forgive me. I don't want to scare you. That is why I did not inform you.'

Radha, 'I know, I know as I am not your mother that is why you are hiding things from me.'

Karna. 'No Maa..please don't say this. You are my mother and that is the truth. Please don't be sad.'

Radha, 'Then promise me, you will not risk your life in future for those royalties. They have the entire army to protect them but what will happen to me and your father if anything happens to you?'

Karna, 'Radhama, nothing will happen to me. And I was not alone. Vasudev Shri Krishna was with me. No evil can ever touch me when Krishna is with me.'

Outside Rupmati and Karna's youngest siblings heard that. They were shocked to know that Karna was not Radha's son. At night Rupmati asked Radha, 'Mata can I ask you something? You said jyasht was not your son? Why Mata, who are Jyasht's actual parents?'

Radha first denied but then under Rupmati's pressure she told her the partial truth, 'We found him in the bank of the river. We have no idea who are his real parents?'

Krishna, 'Radha today unknowingly you did a mistake which will create a huge impact on Karna's life. Now his enemies will try to use this information to harm him in the future.
