RAVEN
Blood coating the knife that I held. I took my gun out, pointing it towards his temple. I click my silencer on. A vibration ricochets from the gun. His body drops to the ground, blood pooling around his head.
My heart now starts to feel an ounce of satisfaction.
Repulsing.
Horrendous.
Disgusting.
All words someone would interpret him as. On the outside, he was just a rich businessman with a loving wife and daughter. On the inside, he was destructive, always harming and scarring both of them.
Mattias Fern. Born and raised in a wealthy neighborhood. Always believed he was better than everyone else. He assumed that he was entitled to his father's wealth and business but that was all shattered when his father thought his brother would be a better fit.
Anonymously, after his father signed the papers over to his brother, he died. Many said that he died out of jealousy from a family member, but that was all cleared up when they announced it was from 'natural causes.
Mattias killed his father.
Fernando, his brother, being the nice person he is, decided to give the company to Mattias. After getting the company, marrying his wife, and having a child, he still wasn't pleased.
He even went as far as to sexually assaulting his daughter. The girl was merely fourteen years old. His wife, having enough of his ways, concluded that he should be killed. Her calling me was like a wake-up call. I despised people like this.
I often called them the spawns of satan.
Finally getting sick of watching his face, I took out a lighter, Pouring alcohol all over his body, and lighting his body to flames. I stare at him a second longer, a faint smirk adorning my face.
Eventually, I leave, obviously not wanting to be caught by his bodyguards. Sneaking around the back of his 'house', I spot my motorcycle. Situating myself on the bike, I relish in the screams of the guests, some of them even running outside.
My heart feels content as I start heading home. Unlocking the door, I'm met with a loud commotion. These assholes. I place the keys on the hook and walk in on them arguing over who is better. Stefan or Damon.
I head to my bedroom and took a shower. All freshened up, I head to the kitchen to prepare some popcorn.
Might as well watch them argue, just for the joy of it.
Proceeding to where they are, I sit on the couch across from them. They continue to disagree with each other unaware that I'm back from my mission.
"I hope you guys know that Damon is better," I mutter, eating a handful of popcorn. The room goes painfully quiet. Avianna starts going on a rant, saying how she was right and he was wrong.
"Whatever," Jax mumbled, rolling his eyes.
"Hey Ray, how was your mission?" He asked.
"It was a fucking nightmare. When I went to follow him, I caught him cheating on his wife. And he even tried to shoot me." I remarked.
"He had it coming to him. Who the fuck tries to touch their daughter! That's fucking disturbing." He exclaimed, tugging the bowl of popcorn to himself.
After watching the tv, we all went to bed, my head now pounding from doing all my 'good deeds.
~~~
The sound of a door being unlocked awakens me. Already feeling terrified, I get my gun and hide it in the waistband of my shorts, covering it with my shirt.
I slowly go down the stairs and peek my head around the wall, my eyes still adjusting to the darkness. A dark figure sits in the corner in the armchair. The smell of a freshly lit cigarette slightly surrounds the room.
My hand lands on the light switch. My eyes almost widen but I hold back from doing so. There, sitting calmly, was Matteo.
"What are you doing here?" I asked, trying to keep my composure.
"I'm just here to pay you a little visit. Hope you got Alessandro's message."
"What do you want?" I inquired, dismissing his previous comments.
"Alessandro just wanted you to do a job for him, just like old times. And if you refuse, I'll just have to leave you with a little 'present'."
"Well guess what, I don't want to do his dirty work anymore. So you can go back to where came from and be his little slave." I almost yell starting to get annoyed.
"Oh, I see how it is. I guess you're choosing the hard way." He mutters, slowly standing up in his seat. His hand ever so slightly grazing the gun in his waistband.
In a flash, my gun points to him, and his gun points at me. His eyes never leaving me. I hear the flushing of a toilet and someone yawning.
Hearing the footsteps halt, my eyes aligned with Jax's. His mouth hangs open.
"What's going on here?"
"You remember me, don't you, Jax?" Matteo smirked, looking between the both of us.
"How could I could I forget someone that made me kill innocent people." He said, sarcasm filling his voice.
They continue to talk while I scrambled away from Matteo's gaze. He must've been stupid to think he could just come back after us. We went under the radar as soon as we escaped. I knew that they had been looking for us but I didn't want to avianna and Jax to worry about it.
It seemed like they had an obsession.
With my gun now pointing against the back of his head, I urged him to drop his gun.
"I wouldn't do this if I were you." He mumbled, looking right at Jax. I press the gun more against his head.
"And why not?".
"Alessandro will come and find you. He will kill you, even if it means breaking your brother's trust." He said.
Brothers?
This was all going too fast. I don't have any brothers and I surely didn't have a father. Maybe it was the man in the picture. The only parent I had known was my mother; she acted as both my mother and father.
"You see, that's where you're wrong. I don't have any brothers."
"You must think I'm stupid. You are your brother's weakness and once you die, Alessandro will be able to take over the mafia, away from your brothers. But just because he knows how good you worked for him, he's giving you a chance, to join his side, to fight against your brothers." He spoke calmly.
I lose focus, lowering my gun to my side.
If I hadn't known any better, I would say he was telling the truth. But knowing Matteo, he always told lies, just to get away from many situations without hearing the consequences.
I soon regain my senses, but it was too late. Matteo's fist connected with my jaw, knocking me out to the ground. I tried getting up but he had his hand wrapped around my neck, practically suffocating me.
Finally, someone decided to help me, hitting Matteo against the head with a baseball bat. I take this as my chance to push him down to the ground.
He hastily dodges my attack and points his gun at Jax, just begging me to do something. Jax already being the coward he is, raises his hand as if he is surrendering.
The echo of footsteps descending from the stairs alerts us, making my head turn to the hallway. The sound of a bullet resonates throughout the room. As I turn around, I spot Jax laying on the ground, holding his stomach, and Matteo making a run for it.
Avianna comes rushing into the room, still tired, and shortly starts tending to Jax.
I rush after Matteo, seeing him run outside, but to no avail did I find him. I look throughout the house but still can't find him anywhere.
I sprint back to where avianna is, only to find her trying to compress his wound. I swiftly call the ambulance, pacing around the room in worry.
The ambulance soon arrived after fifteen minutes, taking Jax and avianna with them, while I stayed back just in case Matteo was to come again.
Avianna refused to leave me at the house but I reassured her that I would be safe.
