Hey guys! So i put a song at the top and you can start it right now...
Ella POV:
"What is it babe?" I asked, standing up from the bed, trying not to wake Lia up.
"Marco has been delt with, but we need to talk about something important" he said.
"Of course, what is it? Is it about sending Lia to school? Because I agree, she needs to start kindergarten" I said, with a chuckle.
"No, no. That's not what I want to talk about" he said, dropping his head.
"Then what is it babe?" I asked.
"As you know Marco is still a danger to us all, and I worry about your safety and Lia's. So I made the decision that you move away from Italy for a few years, until we know that Marco is dead, for good" He said, with a frown on his face.
"M-move away? For a f-few y-years?" I stuttered, fighting back tears.
"I know, I don't want this either, but it's the only way, you're going to be safe, being away from me is the only way I can assure your safety. I hope you understand that I'm doing this for yours and Lia's safety. I love you so much cara mia" he said, pulling me into a tight hug. (my darling)
"I d-don't w-want to l-leave you..." I stuttered, as tears started rolling down my cheeks.
"I don't want to leave you either, but this way you and Lia will be safe" he said, kissing my forehead.
"I love you so much, toi idiot" I said. (you idiot)
"I love you more cara mia" he said, as he pulled away from me. (my darling)
"I'll uh start packing" I said, drying my tears.
"Yeah, I'll uh be in my office" he said, as he walked out of the room.
As he walked out and closed the door, I fell to my knees crying in the palm of my hands. I couldn't believe what he just told me, but he's doing it out of love... He just wants us to be safe from Marco and after what happened today, it's even more clear that he's worried, and that Marco will one day end up killing one of us. Ugh, why is Marco doing this!? I got up and threw the bottle of water from the nightstand in anger.
"M-mummy?" Lia said, waking up from the loud bang of the bottle.
"Lia, I'm sorry, I just-" I said, sitting down on the bed next to her.
"Mummy why are you cwying?" she asked, rubbing her eyes, with her tiny hands.
I simply said nothing and got up and got out a suitcase from the closet and placed it on the bed and started packing up all our clothes in a rush as Lia sat on the bed looking at me cluelessly, still rubbing her eyes and yawning in the process.
"Mummy, what are you doing?" Lia asked.
"Get up Lia" I said, drying my eyes from the tears.
"Okay, mummy, but you still need to tell why you're cywing" Lia said jumping down from the bed.
"Because we have to go away" I said, quickly putting her in a jacket.
"W-what, g-go where?" she asked, with her big green eyes.
"Away from daddy" I replied, as I continued to pack.
"W-what!?" she screamed, taking a step back away from me.
"Lia, don't shout!" I snapped.
"But why are we going away from daddy!?" she yelled, with tears in her eyes.
I got on my knees and took her hands in mine, trying not cry in front of her. I needed to make up an excuse and fast. I couldn't tell her that staying here could probably get us both killed, she's only three, she can't handle that yet.
"Mummy!" she yelled, snapping me from my thoughts.
"S-sometimes mums and dads fall out of love...S-sometimes two homes are better than one... Y-you'll understand one day, Lia..." I stuttered.
"You don't love daddy anymore?" she asked, as tears rolled down her cheeks.
"I'm sorry Lia but we need to go" I said, grabbing the suitcase in one hand and grabbing Lia's hand in the other.
"I don't want to go!" she screamed as we walked down to the main lounge.
"Lia!" I yelled, as we walked into the main lounge, to see everyone waiting there, all expect Dante.
"ELLA!" Camilla screamed, hugging me.
"Camilla..." I mumbled, as I hugged her back.
"P-please don't go" she stuttered, as I pulled away from the hug.
"I'm sorry Camilla, but we have to..." I said.
"I love you so much, never forget that... I loved every moment we had together, and I hope we get to share more together one day... Remember when you helped me with Alessandro, when you were shocked to see me the first time, when you thought I was Dante's girlfriend... -I love you so much Ella" she said as tears filled her eyes.
"I love you more Camilla and you helped me so much over the past year, we spent together, I promise to never forget you or this amazing family I got to meet," I said, as I walked into the centre of everyone. "Meeting you all was so amazing, you treated me like I was part of your family and I really appreciate that, being your boss was a nice experience too, I got to know a little more about all of you, and I promise to never forget any of you. Alessandro, I think I'll miss your stupid personality the most, how you made us all laugh all the time with your stupid jokes and pranks, you were like a brother to me, who always looked out for me, thank you"
"I'll miss you El" Alessandro said as he hugged me.
"I'll miss you too Alessandro" I said.
"And hey I'll miss you too, you little angel" Alessandro said, as he picked up Lia and hugged her tightly.
"I don't want to go Uncle Al" Lia said, wrapping her arms around his neck tightly.
"I know, I know, but you have to" Alessandro said, putting Lia back down.
"I'll miss you Uncle and Aunty" Lia said, hugging their legs.
"We'll miss you too little angel" they said.
"Come on Lia let's go..." I said, taking her hand in mine.
"But I want to see daddy, one last time!" she said.
"Daddy isn't coming, let's go!" I said.
"B-but" she stuttered, looking back at the stairs as we walked towards the door to leave.
"ELLA, WAIT!" Dante yelled, making me freeze in place.
"DADDY!" Lia screamed, running to Dante, as Dante caught her and picked her up in his arms.
"Hey angel" Dante said, kissing her temple.
"Daddy, I don't want to go" Lia sniffled, wrapping her arms around his neck.
"I know angel, I don't want you to go either, but you have to" Dante said, putting Lia down as he stood mere inches away from me.
"So many memories are coming back right now from when we met the first time, this is the place where you protected me for the first time from my father, where you promised to keep me safe and protect me..." I said.
"I know, well I wanted to give you two something before you go" Dante said, pulling out a box.
"What's that?" I asked, as he opened the box.
There was a heart shaped necklace split into three, all three parts had different engravings on them. One had the words Toi idiot, another had the words, Cara mia, and the last ones had the word Angel, on it.
"I wanted to give you this one day to show how much I love and appreciate you both. So I'm giving it to you now so you two won't forget me and you see the necklace you'll remember all the amazing memories we all shared together" he explained.
"Wow- Dante, I love it" I said.
"This one is for me" he said, pointing to the one which said Toi idiot.
"Because that's what I call you" I said, with a smile on my face.
"Mhm, this one is yours" he said, pointing to the one which said Cara mia.
"Because that's what you call me" I said, with a smile.
"Yep, and this is for our little angel" he said, pointing to the very last one, which said Angel.
"I love them" I said, as he handed us our necklaces.
"Daddy, can you put mine on?" Lia asked.
"Of course, come here" Dante said, as he picked her up and put the necklace on.
"Do we have to leave daddy?" Lia asked.
"I'm sorry Lia, but it's for the best" Dante said.
"I guess this is where I go..." I said, as my smile dropped to a frown.
"I love you so much cara mia, never forget that" he said, pulling me closer to him.
"I love you too, toi idiot" I mumbled.
"One last time?" he asked.
"One last time" I agreed, as I pulled him in for our very last kiss.
"Ew!" Lia said.
"Come on Lia, we really have to go now" I said, grabbing her hand in mine.
"I love you so much daddy!" Lia yelled as we walked out.
"I love you more, angel..."

We waited outside for about ten minutes for a taxi, when it finally arrived. We put our suitcases in the trunk and got in the car and started driving to the airport. It took us about an hour and a half to get to the airport and Lia ended up falling asleep in the car, with her head resting against the window. I just stared blankly out of the window, hoping, and wishing that this were all a bad dream, and that I was about to wake up with Dante's body against mine and Lia jumping on our bed to wake us up to another busy and stressful day. But no, I'm fleeing the country with my three-year-old daughter, all alone, just me and her for the next few years, because of some guy who wants to kill us because Dante killed his not so innocent parents.
"We're here" the taxi driver said, cutting me off from my thoughts.
"Lia, wake up, we're here" I said, shaking her.
"Hmm, I'm tired, mummy" she groaned.
"Well, come on, you can sleep more on the plane" I said, stepping out of the car.
"Fine" she huffed, getting out of the car as I got out our suitcase from the trunk.
"Give me your hand Lia, because we need to cross the road" I said.
"Okay, mummy" she said, giving me her hand.
"Now, can you please promise me you'll behave while we wait for the plane?" I asked as we walked into the airport.
"Yes mummy. Look it's grandpa!" Lia shrieked pointing to where my father was standing.
"Dad, what are you doing here?" I asked.
"You didn't seriously think I was going to leave you to fend for yourself, did you?" he asked, taking Lia, and lifting her up in his arms.
"But-" I tried to say something, but he cut me off.
"You're going to be living with me, in my new place" my dad continued on.
"Dad, you don't have to-" I said.
"Of course, I do. I want to help you to try and make up for our broken past" he said.
"Grandpa, can you convince mummy to take us back to daddy?" Lia asked, with a pout.
"I'm sorry Lia, but I can't do that, now come on, let's go back home to France" my father said as he walked off with Lia still in his arms.
Home...?
But my home is here...
My home is here with Dante, Camilla, Alessandro, and the rest of the mafia...
* * * *
Dante POV:
"Yes, but we still have no lead on who stole our stocks" a man said.
"But this way we could-" Alessandro tried to say.
"SILENZIO!" I yelled, slamming my hands on the table, and standing to my feet.
"Boss-" a man said.
"Riunione licenziata!" I said, sitting back down. (meeting dismissed)
They all just nodded and left without a word, they all left, all expect Alessandro.
"Che cosa?" I asked, rubbing my forehead in frustration. (What?)
"Dante, it's been a two years..." he said.
"Two years. TWO WHOLE FUCKING YEARS!" I yelled, standing back up.
"Yes, I know, but-" Alessandro said before I cut him off.
"TWO YEARS! I haven't seen her in two years! TWO YEARS!" I yelled again, fighting back tears.
"Dante please calm down" Alessandro said.
"Don't tell me to calm down Alessandro, because if this was you, if Camilla left you, you would lose yourself too" I shouted.
"I know. I'll never know what you're truly going through at the moment, because I don't know what it's like to lose your wife and daughter because of some asshole. But you need to get yourself together and actually start working because our mafia is falling apart. Every day that goes by where you just stay here and drink your sorrows away, we're all working our asses off trying to save your mafia. But no more, I'm sick and tired of watching you act like this, you're acting just like when you didn't know Ella, you're acting like a lazy asshole and always depending on others, but I think that this time, you're even worse than you were before you knew Ella..." he said, before he finally left my office.
~~~
Ella POV:
"So how are you felling today Ella?" the therapist asked.
"I uh feel like I'm failing at everything" I replied.
"Failing at what? You can tell me Ella, I'm your therapist" she said.
"With Lia, with my new job, with life in general" I said.
"Why do you think you're failing Lia?" she asked.
"I feel like I'm not the mother she deserves, like I could be better, like I need to take better care of her. She barely even leaves her room, she doesn't want to even talk to me, it's like she hates me" I replied.
"Why don't you try and talk to her about it" she said.
"I don't know, what if she doesn't want to talk to me?" I asked.
"You don't know if you don't try" she said.
"Yeah, I suppose I could try and talk to her" I said, with my head low.
"And how's the cutting? Did you stop?" she asked.
"Uh, not really, b-but I'm trying" I stuttered.
"Ella, you need to let go of your past, you need to let go of him..." she said.
"LET GO OF HIM!? I CAN'T! I LOVE HIM!" I yelled, as tears rolled down my cheeks.
"You have to, it's not like you'll see him again. Let. Him. Go!" she said.
"I will never let him go! He saved me! He loved me and I loved him! Maybe therapy was a mistake! This was a mistake! I'm never coming here ever again!" I yelled running out of her office.
I ran back home, I didn't even bother calling my father to pick me up or call a taxi, I just wanted to be alone. Why does no one understand that I can't let him go, why does no one understand that I still love him and that I'll never stop loving him!? He saved me, he showed me what family means and that everyone has a right to be loved, he showed me what true love means, when I thought that it wasn't real...
~~~
"Lia, dinner's ready, I made your favourite, mac and cheese" I called out for her.
But I got no reply back. I decided to go up to her room, because maybe she didn't hear me. I made my way to her room, slowly and walked inside to find her fast asleep on her bed, covered with stuffed animals and under her warm blankets. I slowly walked over to her bed, trying to make no noise, so I don't wake her up, from her slumber. I started shaking her so she could wake up and come eat.
"Lia, wake up, I made mac and cheese, your favourite" I said, as I sat on her bed, next to her.
"I'm not hungry, now go away" she said, turning away so she isn't facing me.
"Lia, please, you barely leave your room, or talk to me, is something bothering you?" I asked. "Do you hate me...?"
She slowly stood up and sat up facing me.
"Yes" she said, with fury in her eyes.
"W-what?" I asked, standing up from her bed.
She did the same and got out of her bed.
"Yes, I do hate you!" she yelled.
"But why?" I asked.
"Because you took me away from daddy!" she yelled.
"It was for your own good Lia" I said.
"WHY DO YOU NOT LOVE DADDY!?" she yelled.
"LIA!" I shouted.
"No, mummy, I want answers! Why do you not love daddy!? Why did you make us leave!?" she shouted.
"Because we were in danger!" I yelled.
"D-danger?" she asked.
"Lia, I uh, pretend I never said anything" I said, as I was about to leave her room, she grabbed me by my arm.
"Please, mummy, please, I just want to see daddy..." she said, with her big green eyes, trying to persuade me.
"I uh, I'll think about it" I said, leaving her room.
"Are you actually going to think about it, or did you just say that to end the conversation?" my dad asked as he walked downstairs and took a seat at the dining table.
"Dad- please I don't want to talk to anyone at the moment" I said, drying away my tears.
"You know when I lost your mother, I thought that my life was over, that I had nothing left, I felt like I had no purpose in my life anymore. But whenever I wanted to end it all, I thought about you, I thought about all that I would put you through if I left you all alone, at just three years old you would have lost both your parents, so I didn't give up, I kept going, I made mistakes Ella, we all make mistakes, but we grow from them. I changed my ways and my actions because I chose to make the better decision, so I could be the better father that you deserved. Now it's your turn to make the right choice, to be the mother that Lia needs right now" my dad said.
"You're right. And I think I know what I have to do" I said as I dropped everything from my hands and ran straight to my room.
My father's right, I need to make the right choice and staying here and doing nothing will change nothing. I need to make the right choice for Lia, to be the better mother she deserves. I collected my thoughts and grabbed my phone and dialled a number...
"Hey..." I said.
