3rd POV
Marley was to say the least nervous.
Her thoughts consisted of how their afternoon was going to go.
She pictured the three wondering if a break was really what they wanted, or was there another reason for them going to the town with her.
'No I need to stop thinking like that, I'm sure their just tired and needed a break. Besides what else could possibly be the reason for them to want to come with me.'
Marley shook her head and turned to the window trying her hardest to forget her thoughts and calm down her racing heart, for reasons unknown to her.
The three queens weren't much different. They were queens yes but, not even titles could ease their mind.
The thought of spending time with their mate brought joy to them but they were still cautious about her.
They needed to be careful, they knew Marley was nervous around them, and Ambree had mentioned to them privately, that Marleys past was one of great pain.
They needed to be careful with Marley.
Despite her being brave and being a warrior there was another side of her.
One that the three wanted desperately for her to let out.
They realized that Marley had been bottling up a lot of trauma and emotion, from when they talked with Ambree.
It was now their mission to as her mates to give Marley peace.
She deserves it after all.
They didn't know the story of her past, or of what happened but they did know that Marley needed help, weather she realized it or not.
Those thoughts kept the group busy until they reached the town.
It was a nice day outside with blue skies and sun covering the ground beneath them, their shadows falling behind.
The town was bustling with people. There were shops and stores everywhere, as well as houses and restaurants.
It was a lively place that the queens felt proud of.
Once they stepped outside of the carriage people around stoped to look. The queens were a site to behold, not to mention princess Ambree next to them.
Marley stood behind them. Marley looked over Ambrees shoulder and saw people looking.
None of the others moved assuming it was because of the crown staring blankly at the group.
Marley stepped up and began walking forward. Once in front the others noticed her and began following behind her.
The more they walked into town the more looks they got. Though despite all the shocked faces, people were still nice.
They greeted the group and bowed their heads in respect, something Marley admired them for greatly considering her code of conduct being a warrior.
She smiled to herself seeing the curious faces of children.
They were always the most curious and it made Marley happy inside, at how genuine children were despite the adults living with them in this world.
The group walked until Ambree noticed a small shop.
She gestured for the others to follow her in, and so they did. One by one the group piled into the shop.
The store keeper stumbling over words as the royals made their way in.
Marley looked around. The shop was mostly an assortment of things form other kingdoms.
It had silks, flags jewelry prices and more. Everything looked so different, yet strangely complete next to each other.
Just like the kingdoms themselves. Demitri walked down one of the isles with Ambree as the two admired the pretty heeled crowding the wooden shelves.
Heather looked around the store. It was relatively small to what she was used to but then again she was queen so she really shouldn't complain.
Her and Lea were standing next to each other's little uncertain of what they should do, until Marley walked closer to the shopkeepers table, where she sat on the other side.
Upon seeing Marley the lady smiled and asked,
"And what could I help you with today?"
"That painting behind you, where did you get it?"
Marley asked pointing towards the painting behind the lady.
"Oh this, I found in here when I first moved here, I'm assuming it's from when the dragon people used to live here considering the language it's in,"
the lady explained to Marley.
Before Marley got to speak the lady spoke again.
"I like to keep it hung in the front like this on display to honour them."
"Them?"
Lea questioned as she got closer to Marley.
Lea and Heather heard the conversation and became just as curious.
"Why the dragons of course, don't forget they were the first ones. The original rulers, the ones who protected us all, they never did deserve what happened to them."
The lady spoke in a sadder tone at the end. Marley then looked at the lady.
She had an unrecognisable expression on her face, one neither Lea nor Heather could pin point.
"The words, on your painting say 'trust is the only one we can understand, did you know it said that?"
Marley asked.
Once she said this Ambree and Demitri had walked over to see what was going on.
They looked to the shopkeeper, her eyes were wide and mouth slightly open.
"You know the dragon language?"
The lady asked her voice sounded almost strained a little as if she was crying a little.
"Yes, I do. The reason I ask about that painting is that my mother had a similar one in her room before the fall,"
Marley explained.
At this point everyone was looking at her.
Surprise evident on everyone's face.
"Your mother?"
The lady asked even more shocked then before.
Marley nodded and said,
"yes my mother she was a dragon just like I am, you might know her name."
Marley explained.
"Your a dragon?!"
The lady asked clearly not expecting that.
"Yes I am."
Marley spoke, a bluntness evident in her voice. The lady looked at Marley her face contorted from shocked to sympathetic,
"What was your mothers name?"
Marley tensed at the question, wondering if she should reveal the information.
Though she got this far why back down now.
The tension did not go unnoticed by the queens, their worry increasing as the conversation continued. "My mothers name was..." Marley paused for a second almost as if she was thinking of her consequences of this action.
"Her name was Kalliste Reina."
Once the words left her mouth the room went completely silent.
No one spoke
No one moved
Any noise seemed to stop once she said that name. The storekeeper as well as the three queens looked down at Marley, shock clear in their emotion.
The shopkeeper was the first to speak up
"Your mother was the dragon queen?!"
