3rd POV "We are your mates,"
Those words echoed through Marleys head.
One sentence,
four words,
and yet Marley felt like everything was crashing down.
She widened her eyes at the news, her mouth slightly parted, her her movements were still. She didn't know what to do.
Was this a dream?
a cruel prank?
Or was it true?
She didn't know, and she became frightened.
"I-you-but.."
Marley didn't know what to say, she stuttered out words, clueless of what to say.
The three watched as their mate struggled to say something. They knew she was going to be shocked, This reaction was kind of expected but it didn't ease their worried minds.
They just told Marley that she was their mate, of course they were worried, who wouldn't be?
"Y-you are not lying, this is not a joke?"
Marleys voice was timid, as if she was afraid, something the three found displeasing.
"No Marley, this is not a joke, we speak the truth to you, and nothing but the truth."
Lea was the first out of the three to speak up.
"Are you alright, do you need something?"
Demitri's voice laced with concern as she looked down at her mate.
"No I'm fine I just-"
Boom!
The four turned around, a loud explosion noise echoing through the land. In the distance a loud roar was heard, followed by a could of black smoke being waved through the air.
The light of fire, cascading shadows on the town. Marley stood up immediately, she narrowed her eyes at the sight of the town, it looked to be near the docks.
She quickly began running towards the palace, her wings already put inside her back.
The three followed close behind her, expressions of worry, confusion, and scared showed on their faces. Once the group made their way to the place, the group of guests were gathered in the entrance hall. Upon seeing the queens, the people stopped talking, waiting to hear what they had to say.
Marley quickly spotted Ambree and ran towards her
"Everyone, stay inside we don't know what's happening outside, so until the problem is resolved, no one is allowed to leave this palace."
Heathers voice boomed over the crowd. She used her Alpha voice, no one questioned her once she spoke.
They were probably to scared, either of her or of what's outside, no one knew.
"Princess are you alright, are you hurt?"
Marleys asked Ambree quickly.
"No I'm fine, but Marley what is going on?"
"I promise to explain everything to you, but right now I need to get to the docks,"
"The docks, why?"
"That is where the creature is,"
"Creature?!"
"Yes I was outside, I heard a noise it resembled the noise of a creature, though I am unsure of what it was exactly.
Following the noise, we're explosions, fire and smoke covering the docks by the village,"
"But you heard the queen, no one is to leave,"
"I'm a warrior Ambree, a dragon, I can stop whatever is happening, with minimal damage, plus I'm their mate, I think I can get through,"
"They told you?!"
"Yes, but that's not important right now, what is important is the people of the village,"
Ambree put her head down, seeming to think about it, she sighed loudly,
"Alright then, go, go save the people, I'll stay here and calm the three down, knowing them your their priority right now so there gonna be upset when you leave,"
Marley flashed a look of guilt before she shook her head. She can feel bad later right now she has a task at hand.
She nodded at Ambree, a sign of thanks. Marley then looked around, if she was going to get to the town quickly then she would need to use her wings, but in order to do that she'd need space to let them out without scaring the people.
They were scared enough, they didn't need a dragon scaring them further.
"What are you looking for?"
"I need open space to let my wings out,"
"Go to the dinning hall and up the stairs, in the south wing there is a balcony you can use, and people won't see you from that angle,"
Marley nodded once again and began running in the direction of the dinning hall.
"Marley wait!"
Lea shouted above the crowd, but before she could say anymore Marley ran through the doors.
Heather was the first to spring into action. She began quickly making her way towards the doors that Marley ran through, only to be stopped by Ambree.
"Your majesty wait, let her go, she can solve this problem,"
"She's going to that creature?!"
Demitri asked, her and Lea following behind Heather.
"Yes she can, and will stop whatever that thing is, but you all need to stay here,"
"What! No we're her mates, she needs us,"
"Yes she does but right now you three need to be safe, please stay here and wait for her."
"What if she gets hurt?"
"Marley is a warrior, her job is to save the people, she has a duty to go and fix the problem, we can only wait to see what happens to her if she returns,"
"If!?"
"I mean when, please stay calm, your her mates I need you to trust her,"
"We do that's why we need to be with her,"
"If you trust her, you'd stay where she knows your safe, please for her sake, stay here, your people need you, everyone is panicking, only your words will calm them, your all queens,"
The three stood silent after that.
They wanted desperately to go find Marley. Not knowing if she was hurt worried the three to no end. But Ambree was right.
"Alright fine, but let us know immediately when Marley returns,"
"Of course,"
The three then returned to their position over the crowd. They were able to calm the panicking people, at least the best they could. The hall was bustling with noise. People were nervous and scared.
It was obvious that the three were worried. It had been about two hours since Marley left and the queens were getting worse and worse.
They had finally told Marley what they were to her and now this happens.
The three were currently huddled together, trying their best but failing at trying to calm each other down.
It was quiet amongst the three until Ambree ran in.
"Your majesties!"
Ambree exclaimed from across the room. She looked around and sped up when she saw the three.
The three heard Ambree and quickly began scanning the room for the princess. Upon finding her they met her halfway,
"Your majesties come quick it's Marley she's returned,"
"How is she?"
"She has injuries, but she can move just fine,"
"Where is she?"
"In your chambers, it was the closet balcony she could find to land, she's bleeding, come on we must go quickly,"
The three then rushed to their room with Ambree leading the way.
Heather didn't bother knocking and went right in, the other following swiftly behind her.
They stopped once they saw Marley.
She was on the ground.
She had blood coming out of her back.
Her left arm, bleeding with a deep cut.
Bruises here and there with some scrapes.
Upon seeing their mate the three rushed to her quickly.
Marley wasn't really paying attention when Ambree left her, she was to focused on trying to stop some of the bleeding.
She looked up once she felt a hand holding her waist trying to hoist her up from her crouched position.
And Marley couldn't be more glad to see the three queens at her side.
