3rd POV

Marley decided to try her plan out.

She put it to action fairly quickly.

It was found relatively easy for the first three days. The queens had a lot of meetings and jobs around the place since the kingdom was preparing for a festival.

Marley found it easy since the queens were typically too busy anyways.

However

By the sixth day Lea became a little suspicious. She hadn't spent anytime with Marley in the past week, nor had her wives. Marley seemed to have an excuse each time, and she wasn't attending my of the meals, usually only one a day, and she only talked to Ambree which the three queens felt strong jealousy towards.

Perhaps she was just paranoid since Marley was their mate but, there was some evidence there. Lea could tell at least a little that Marley was trying to not be with them.

It angered her greatly.

She was hurt by the realizatdion but figured that there was probably an explanation as to why. Marley isn't the person to just blow people off and leave them with nothing.

So what was her reasoning?

Was there something wrong?

Is it something the three did?

The queens were confused they didn't know what could be the answer. K The tried to talk to Ambree but she was just as clueless, which surprised the queens.

It was now Saturday, about 7 days since they told Marley that she was their mate.

It became clear that she was avoiding them. The three discussed it with each other and confessed to thinking the same thing.

They collectively decided to try and confront her, but an opportunity didn't present itself.

They figured that they would do it privately so that people wouldn't know and Marley wouldn't be embarrassed, but Marley seemed to catch up on it. When the three would approach her she would find people to surround her.

Because of this the queens couldn't find a time with just her.

They tried at night but Marley wouldn't open the door, claiming to be on night flight or going to bed early.

The queens were thoroughly annoyed. Not with Marley particularly but at the fact that they didn't why she was doing this.

They didn't know if it was something they said or did.

They were so clueless and annoyed. They wanted to fix what ever problem was going on, but how could they if they didn't even know what the problem was.

Finally about a day later an opportunity arrived. Marley had decided to take a walk, at night. She found the palace grounds peaceful and the moon gave her enough light.

She walked down the halls and out the palace, her warriors jacket now on.

She needed some fresh air after the day. She had successfully avoided the three for the week. But did it actually do anything?

The main reason behind Marleys action was to make the queens realise that they didn't need her. Marley whole heartedly believed that the queens didn't need her.

She felt useless to them.

They were queens

What was she?

Sure a warrior was great and all, but she didn't have the same power as the three.

She was so lost in thought that she didn't even realise where she was walking. Nor did she realise that she had subconsciously walked towards the queens balcony.

Demitri was currently outside on her balcony. She wanted some air to cool her off.

She was so upset at the thought of Marley not wanting them.

She just needed some time to think. So imagine her surprise when she looked down and saw the fiery red head.

She gasped and almost fell out of her chair. She rubbed her eyes to see if she was dreaming and when she opened them again she smiled widely at the girl still standing outside.

She quickly went inside to tell the other two. Lea and Heather looked for themselves and smiled upon seeing their mate.

They decided that this was finally their opportunity so they quickly made their way outside towards where they saw Marley.

They were all three dressed down to come more comfortable yet still formal wear.

Not quite in their night clothes but not a big ball gowns either.

Once they made it to the sight, they looked around to see if they could find Marley.

They were able to spot her quickly since she was walking alongside the palace wall, near their balcony, walking and thinking, paying no mind to her surroundings. Heather smiled as an idea came to mind.

Marley was too deep in thought to notice the three, or even to notice that she was near their room.

'Is this even a good idea? I mean they've only tried to get with me more since I've avoided them. Ugh why is this so hard? Why can't they just see that I'm not good enou-'

Marleys thought we're cut of when two arms suddenly found themselves trapping her between a body and the wall.

Upon realising that she was pinned Marley turned forward surprised to see someone outside at this hour.

But to her surprise it was queen Heather. Her face was dangerously close to hers so Marley retracted her face away quickly and backed into the wall as much as she could to try and create some distance.

Heathers eyes gleamed with a certain darkness under the moonlight as she looked down at Marley. Marley looked around to try and find a way out, only to find Lea and Demitri there as well.

She was about to speak up to create an excuse of being tired snd hopefully return to her room but Heather had other plans, she spoke up before Marley got the chance to.

"Why are you avoiding us?"

Her question was direct and her voice was serious. Marley also picked up a hint of her wolves voice in her question.

"I was never avo-"

Before she got to finish Heather growled loudly, her wolf taking partial control.

"Do not lie to me Marley, why?"

Her voice got deeper, and her eyes flashed colors. Lea and Demitri also seeming upset.

They got closer to the two.

Marley took some breaths her own dragon coming out. Not because she was upset with Heather but because Nina could sense Heathers wolf, and from one alpha to another it seemed like a challenge to the dragon.

"You wouldn't understand,"

Marley said while shaking her head, her eyes becoming more dilated and her blood temperature was rising, a result from her dragon.

"Then make us understand, we know nothing,"

Lea had spoken up this time

"Let us help you Marley, your clearly in pain,"

Demitri's voice was calm and sweet as she spoke to Marley.

" I can't- I don't-"

Marley didn't know what to say.

"It's alright take your time,"

Lea's words reassuring her.

Marley didn't know what to do.

She wanted to tell them but she didn't want to get hurt again.

After a couple of seconds she let her heart decide and she spoke up again.

"I just feel like I'm not good enough for you three."

The three stood there silent underneath the place moonlight.

The only sounds that could be heard were the noises of nature all around them.

Neither of them knew what to say. So that's what it was.

That was her reasoning.

The three understood at that moment.

Marley had lost everything, everyone she held dear in her heart.

She didn't want to loose the three.

So she decided to avoid them as a whole.

Though it wasn't the best idea, the three understood why.

Heather shook her head.

She took her arms from the wall and put them on the sides of Marleys head.

She reacted before anyone could say anything.

Before Marley had any time to react.

Heather pulled her face and body closer to Marley.

Her wolf still in half control.

She leaned down.

Closed her eyes.

And.

Kissed Marley.
