It was already six in the morning when Tang Shushui finished the distribution of clothes. He slipped on a modern hanfu he made that looked more like a hoody than a hanfu. He did his skincare routine, applied light makeup, and then went to the kitchen to eat.

He has a bowl of rice porridge with stir-fried vegetables and chicken. After he finished eating he departed the inn with Hahao to go to town and hire the new workers. He had already announced about his hiring of employees since yesterday, so many were waiting for him by his old stall.

"Hello, my name is Tang Shushui and this is my brother Haoyu, we run Jiang's Diner." He greeted the people who were looking at his clothes politely.

"Hello my name is Nang Haoyu." Nang Haoyu greeted the twelve people who were also looking at his clothes politely.

"Hello, Madams." The employee candidates bowed respectfully as they returned the greeting.

"Okay I won't have any tests or give you guys any difficulties but I do need some information from you guys ok?" Tang Shushui assured and asked.

"Yes madam!" The candidate employees responded in unison.

"Ok, so how many of you were martial art artists?" Tang Shushui asked. "Raise your hand if you were." Tang Shushui continued. Seven people raised their hands.

"Ok." Tang Shushui muttered as he wrote down on his piece of paper.

"How many of you are used to rough work?" Tang Shushui asked and six other people raised their hands. Tang Shushui continued to jot it down.

"How many of you went to school and is able to count." Two other people raised their hands. One was a ger and the other was a girl, which made Tang Shushui raise an eyebrow, as he jotted that down on his paper.

"Okay so you are all hired, I will assign you all to your positions once we get to the restaurant." Tang Shushui stated as he started to slowly walk and gestured for the employees to follow him.

The group of seventeen people walked for about ten minutes before arriving at the restaurant. When the employees saw the interior of the restaurant their jaws dropped. They were all thankful they didn't hesitate like the other people did and came to the 'interview' for this job. Tang Shushui called the other fifteen workers and started explaining the rules to them.

"Okay, so I will now start giving positions based on what I've seen from yesterday." Tang Shushui said and everybody tensed.

"Li Shi Qing, competent, great communication skills, witty, ability to work under pressure. I will assign you as general manager. I explained what a general manager would do, you understand right?" Tang Shushui asked.

"Yes, madam." She responded with a solemn bow.

"Xie Lie, good at helping, experienced, and great communication skills. I will appoint you as assistant manager." Tang Shushui declared.

"Thank you, madam." Xie Lie thanked as he bowed.

"Wu Xian, good cooking. Executive chef." Tang Shushui started shortening his sentences but they knew what he meant. He also stopped them from thanking him, just a bow will do.

"Wang Ji, good cooking but needs a little more work. Sous chef."

"Lan Li, experienced, and talented in arts. Pastry chef."

"Liang Shu, responsible and patient. Kitchen manager."

"Tong Donghai, organized, team player. Food and Beverage Manager."

"Di Yaoyao, professional and quick. Line Cook."

"Shu-Ling, fast and efficient. Fast Food Chef."

"Liang Li, fast and experienced. Short Order cook."

"Liang Hu, fast learner. Prep Cook."

"Fan Xian, formal, and prepared. Sommelier."

"Ye Qing, knowledgable, good memory. Server."

" I will only give these positions, for now, I'll give the rest tomorrow. Those in the current positions will be trained under me and Haoaho. There will be new uniforms, brooches, and hairpins for the promoted employees. Make sure to work hard you will also get a promotion." Tang Shushui said as he encouraged them.

The new promoted were excited but nervous, but they were instantly comforted by their boss' words. They were now excited about their new clothes and jewelry. They were surprised to find that they had employee rooms and 'locker' rooms. One for the girls, one for the boys, and surprisingly one for the gers.

The gers were very grateful to their boss because people forget that a ger is a gender itself. They were neither a boy nor a girl but a ger, but in real life, if they were very feminine they were grouped with girls and they were masculine they were grouped with guys. They were treated like reproductive objects that were thrown around, to see that somebody cared is touching to them. They immediately bowed and thanked their boss.

Then they were given brand new uniforms. The manager and the assistant manager got a detailed skirt and pants with a white shirt but they had different hairpins and brooches, signifying their positions. The rest were given the same uniform but different jewelry. Tang Shushui posted a paper with drawings with the position of each piece of jewelry, plus he already told them the position when he was speaking about how the restaurant worked that night.

"Ok, now that we've got this done it's time for work! Everybody that has ranks will act according to their rank those who have yet to be ranked will be working as waiters and waitresses tonight. The restaurant is going to open in three hours let's prepare now." Tang Shushui instructed as he clapped twice.

The employees immediately bowed and followed instructions. Those who were in charge of cleaning today cleaned and those who had to cook cooked. With the help of Tang Shushui of course. Tang Shushui had thought them most of his recipes, not because he trusted them, but because he could dispose of any rats in a matter of seconds. The employees didn't know why, but they suddenly felt a shiver down their backs.

It was finally eleven and the restaurant was already filled with people and there were still people waiting to be checked both at the front desk and in the waiting room.

"Welcome to Jiang's dinner. Can I please get your name and the venue you want, please?" Haohao asked politely.

"My name is Ye Qingmei." The lady responded disdainfully looking nothing like the enthusiastic girl and ger next to her.

"Mom! I'm Ye Shang. Sorry for being impolite! We would like the rose venue please!" The girl said as she scolded her mother with her eyes and then told Haohao the wanted information.

"I'm Ye Ping, sorry for the inconvenience." The ger followed though looking a bit timider than the girl.

"Thank you, may you lovely ladies have a wonderful brunch." Haohao wished as he handed them three square pieces of clothes beautifully embroidered with a rose.

"Please keep this on you at all times. It will give you access to all the features of the rose venue and losing it will also cause us some problems, so please keep it on you at all times." Haohao instructed politely making the lady cast him another disdainful look. "Jin Lin, please guide Madame Ye to the rose venue." Haohao directed Jin Lin next to him.

"Please let me guide you, madam." Jin Lin said, choosing his words carefully.

He went in front of the family of three and guided them, he gave them a short explanation of the restaurant. When they arrived he asked them if they wanted a table, a booth, or a private room. Ye Shang immediately chose the booth since it seemed new to her. He sat them down and took out his little notebook made by Tang Shushui and a pen also made by Tang Shushui and asked for their order. They were surprised to see the pen but they immediately gained back their original composure and discussed their orders.

"We'll have the rose tart, the rose mochi, boba pudding, salmon sushi, udon noodle, braised pork and beef, stir-fried beef, caramel flower tea, onigiri rice, apple pie, and shrimp dumplings, thank you." Ye Shang ordered mispronouncing some of the words but Jin Lin sill got them.

"I will be right back with the food Madam and misses." Jin Lin said politely.

Ye Qingmei harrumphed disdainfully but she didn't say anything. She turned her head and continued to chat with her kids. She looked nothing like the haughty woman she looked like earlier, she was just grinning ear to ear.

Twenty minutes later Jin Lin came back with the dishes with two other waiters and arranged their tables. The sight alone was overwhelming, the vivid colours of the food spoke to its freshness and the bold flavours to come. Ye Shang and Ye Ping looked exited but Ye Qingmei still looked unstisfied.

The waiter were gone and it was time to dig in. The moment the food touched Ye Qimei's mouth she was shocked, the food tasted so good. The flavours are familiar and comforting, the sort one could eat every day as if they were the most divine food ever conjured. She quietly lowered her head and ate the food as fat salty tears streamed down her cheeks.

Looking back, she wasn't always this hautghy of woman. She was loving, gentle, and nice, but that wasn't enough for her husband. When everyone opposed their relationship she stood by his side, only to be humiliated by him years later. She's doing the best of her ability to be the madam of the Ye mansion for her husband, but her husband is only filling up the mansion with concubines. In a house filled with concubines being nice could cost you your life, in her case her children too; So she adapted into this mean, and haughty attitude, and forgot about her past self.

When the family of three finished eating they were surprised to see how much they's eaten, but Ye Qingmei looked like she wanted more, so they called over the waiter.

"How may I be of assistance to you ladies?" Jin Lin bowed and asked formally.

"Can we please have a large fruit salad, three bowl of tofu congee, a cup of watermelon juice, and a bottle of mixed berries juice?" Ye Shang ordered.

"Yes my lady, I will be right back." Jin Lin responded politely before he went to the kitchen.

It didn't take long before Jin Lin brought back the wanted dishes. The ladies once again dug in and finished it all. This time they felt more refreshed then stuffed. They looked at each other after eating smiled, it's been a long time since they felt so refreshed. They called over the waiter to pay.

"How much?" Asked Ye Qingmei, her tone much politer now.

"Your bill is twelve teals and sixty-seven copper coins, please sign here after paying." Jin Lin responded as politelely as he handed them the bill to sign. Ye Qingmei payed and signed her name.

"Thank you for coming to Jiang's diner, you will get you change at the check out desk." Jin Lin responded as he saw them off.
