I stood back in Goku's dojo. It had been a little while since I had been here with everything that has happened.
This time I returned without him.
I feel better after last night, being able to confide in Erica. She really helped me last night with my emotions.
I will get you back Goku. I promise it.
But now, it's time to prepare for the final arc. I need to be ready to go against Kurobei this time. And I also need to be ready for anything.
Because of the fact that there was some sort of controversial twist in the final episode. It's likely the fact that Erica's a girl, but I have no confirmation that was revealed in the anime.
Arc 9, the final arc, can be simplified into one word; chaos. It's the Demon King's return. While the Demon King doesn't actually return until the final episode, the arc is all about it.
Basically, this arc is the final battle. It starts with an exponential increase in the amount of rifts as huge amounts start popping up all over the world.
Especially here in Tokyo, where the Demon King will be arriving. The city is quickly overrun and it basically becomes apocalyptic.
Erica and the others have to fight their way to where the largest rift is, the entrance point of the Demon King's return.
The streets are filled with fleeing civilians, and adventurers fighting against the monsters. It's more chaotic and dangerous than Amber or Bianca's arc.
A lot of people die, that's for sure. Civilians, adventurers, Children of Lupercio, members of the Cult of Loki, etc.
In the anime they find the Principal, but then they have to find one other person before they can use the seal. An old friend of the Principal's who was called to come help with seal.
I have no doubt that this is my mother. With Kage being a family of the Four Great Sages, it makes sense that Principal would call her old friend to come help.
I'm not sure if Principal will call her again or not since I'm here and willing to be one to use the seal, but it's possible.
But I'm hoping she doesn't, considering I don't know how to act in front of her. I would rather not have everyone learn that I'm a guy from another world who took over this body, even if I didn't want to.
I mean, I can't help but feel she would be furious. Her SON is gone, taken over by another person.
Anyways, moving one from that note, this final arc is coming soon. It could be in a day, three, or a week.
I just know that it's coming "soon".
So I need to make some new tricks. Something to use to stop Kurobei. We got close last time, but he was able to get away.
So I enlisted the help of Merlin. We were both currently in the Dojo. We walked to the break room, sitting down at the table.
"I'm so glad you came to your Big Sister to help!" Merlin grinned.
"Yeah, yeah..." I rolled my eyes. "So, about what Principal said. Does the book confirm it?"
"It does." Merlin stated, pulling out the book. She opened it, flipping through the pages. "I can't believe that I never knew he wrote this..."
The book was written by Principals grandfather, the Kato of the Four Great Sages.
"It holds a lot of important information. It even holds some lessons that I taught them long ago. He had documented them." Merlin lightly smiled.
"Anyways, the seal is in fact just a device to punch a hole into the void. To manually do something like that is quite hard, which is why it requires four people to use quite a lot of mana." Merlin explained.
"So by 'sealing' him, we're actually just sending him to the void once more." I sighed. "It'll just be the same as last time."
"Maybe. But at least we'll be more prepared. If he does break out once more, then we'll be ready. Right now, we just need to prevent him from returning now." Merlin replied.
"Yeah..." I sighed once more.
I'd rather end it all now, but I don't think that's possible. We're in a losing position, and I don't think we're strong enough to kill the Demon King.
"So, you want me to help you get stronger?" Merlin mused, flipping through the pages.
"Principal thinks there might be some other important things in there." I stated. "I also think so too. You said some of your earlier teachings were in there, so he must have some techniques or ideas."
"I see." Merlin nodded. "How many mana veins are you at now?"
"500." I stated.
"Geez..." Merlin light chuckled. "That's what happens when you bond with a god of magic."
"Yes, praise me more." Grinned Loki.
"How many lead to your eyes?" Merlin asked.
"20." Loki informed me.
"Loki says 20." I relayed the information.
"All right." Merlin nodded. "I taught them this, and I even taught Arthur this long ago. It's a method to see magic."
"To see magic?" I questioned.
"As you know, the mana veins allow you to easily send mana through your body. It allows for quick, large, and powerful discharge of power." Merlin continued.
"Most of the times you use this with the intent of using one of you tiers, for example your fire element. But if you send pure mana to your eyes, you can achieve a phenomenon which allows you to see mana." Merlin explained.
"But don't send too much. Pure mana can be dangerous and needs to be used moderately." She added. "You don't want to cripple your eyes."
"Alright." I nodded.
Loki, make sure I don't use too much pure mana.
"Got it." Loki replied.
I pulled the mana inside of me, directing it towards my eyes. I felt as the mana flowed through my body and into my eyes.
Opening them, it was incredibly strange. I could see this aura surrounding Merlin, this faded purple aura with flowers.
But in her chest I could see something else. I could see her soul. I could see her soul without Kurobei currently taking it.
It was a light purple.
"Woah..." I gasped.
I looked at myself. My soul was black and red, with a ominous dark aura around me. Red lightning sparked around me. The lightning was in my aura...?
Maybe it's a Kage thing, like how the Aegis are usually bonded to lightning based Arcanas. Like how Irene has Thor and Iris has Zeus.
Looking around, I could see the mana in the air. They moved like streams of water, strings across the world. This world was dense with mana. Maybe that's why Lupercio wanted it so much.
Is this how Kurobei was able to take out their souls? A mixture of this technique and something else?
The problem was that he was able to physically take and grab the soul. That's not a normal thing...
"Hey Merlin, is there any way to touch mana?" I asked.
"Touch mana?" She questioned. "Hmm...technically you can't, but if you coated your body in pure mana, you would be able to touch mana."
"However, that's very dangerous, and requires an extreme amount of control. Wait, Ken-?!" She gasped.
I looked at my arm, moving mana to my hand. Unlike times before, I didn't want to use a tier. Just pure mana.
My hand started to glow white. I looked at one of the streams of mana in the air. Moving my hand towards it, I tried to push it.
It worked. My hand impacted with the mana, and the stream was slightly pushed away. But what could I use this for?
"Gah!" I cried out as my hand suddenly surged with pain. I let go of the pure mana, letting it recede back into my body as the pain went away.
"Are you alright?!" Merlin worriedly asked. "That was very reckless!"
"I'm fine." I replied. "I was able to touch the mana stream."
"Seriously? I've never thought about that..." Merlin hummed.
"Could that be useful in any way?" I asked.
"Maybe not the mana streams, but you've given me an idea." Merlin nodded. "And I think this can help you against the Demon King's right hand man..."
I felt a grin form onto my face. "All right. Teach me."
Merlin returned my grin, starting to teach me an interesting and new technique. We also continued to study the book, and by the end of the day I felt better.
Im going to train as much as possible before this final arc comes. I'm going to be ready for when the Demon King returns.
I'll be ready for Arc 9.
