I stood inside of the room, staring at Kagami. It was a large room, completely empty except for lots of rubble and stones.

"This is our training area." Kagami informed me. "But I'm not going to be training you. I just wanted to talk to you alone."

"Alright then." I nodded at him.

"What tier are you?" He curiously asked.

"Tier 8." I informed.

"Uh...you might want to check your adventurer card again..." Loki stated.

"Wait, give me a minute." I told him as I pulled out my card which I always had in my pocket. Looking at it, I almost dropped the card out of shock.

Loki. S Rank.

Tier 1 - Fire Element

Tier 2 - Trickster God's Spirit

Tier 3 - Disguise

Tier 4 - Copycat

Tier 5 - Shapeshift

Tier 6 - Asgardian Armor

Tier 7 - Ch4$&A/o0s@0

Tier 8 - Amplification

Tier 9 - Steal

Medea. A Rank.

Tier 1 - Mana Manipulation

Tier 2 - Soul Snatcher

I tiered up! And what's with Medea being here now?!

"Well, I think you tiered up after defeating Kurobei." Loki stated. "And as for Medea, this is what happened when you bonded Kurobei's soul to yours."

"However, you can't try this again. We're lucky that we don't have to deal with a Kurobei stuck in your head." Loki stated. "And your soul wouldn't be able to support more than two Arcanas without the others being dormant."

So there's no point in trying to steal the Arcanas of the people who get in my way?

"Nope." Loki replied. "Because we would need a high level seal in order to obtain it without ripping your soul in half, and I can't make a deal from in here. And trying to use it more than a couple minutes would then probably rip your soul in half."

Well, that sucks. For a second I thought I found a path to being incredibly OP. But still, I got an A Rank Arcana. That's pretty awesome. But how come it's at Tier 2?

"It lost it's power." Loki stated. "Since the soul was fading when I bonded it to us, we lost most of the power, including Kurobei's consciousness."

Well, that's good. That guy was incredibly annoying.

"Never mind, I made it to Tier 9." I stated, placing my card back into my pocket.

So, what does Steal do?

"Hell if I know." Loki replied. "I've stolen plenty of things before, so I'm not surprised that there's a tier called stealing. But I don't know how you make stealing into a power."

Maybe it works the same way as it did for that one gender equality guy in an amazing world?

"Possibly." Loki mused.

"Amazing." Kagami chuckled. "And with your age, you haven't had that arcana for long. That's really amazing."

"Oh...thanks." I replied.

"But, I have a question to ask. Who are you?" He asked, tilting his head.

Oh no.

"What...what do you mean?" I asked, narrowing my eyes.

"Your soul." He stated, pointing at me. "It's comprised of two separate colors fused together, and I know one of those isn't your arcana. Which means that two souls combined into one reside in you."

"So, who are you?" He asked once again.

I sighed, taking a deep breath. Damn it.

"My name was originally Kyle Johnson, until one day I woke up in the body of Ken Kage. I'm sorry that I'm not actually your grandson." I stated, adverting my eyes.

His response wasn't what I was expecting.

"Don't say that." He chastised me. "Your souls were fused together into one. You are Ken Kage. You are Kyle Johnson. And you are my grandson."

"If anything, I don't deserve to be called your grandfather. I was never there for you." He sadly sighed.

"You can hardly be blamed for that." I argued.

"I know. But I still want to make it up to you." He smiled. "But, I noticed something. Your memories seem to be missing."

My eyes widened in surprise. "You're right, I can't remember anything from Ken before I was transported into this body. How did you know?"

"Because of my Arcana, Morticus." He proudly stated.

"Who's Morticus?" I asked. I don't remember any mythological figure with that name.

"Oh, right." He suddenly became sheepish. "He was a major god in my original world, but you wouldn't know that."

"Morticus was one of our most important gods. He was the god of fire, death, the underworld, and he ruled over the soul." Kagami informed.

"Morticus is celebrated in our world as he ruled over the land of the dead, where we go once we die." Kagami continued. "He is the one who leads souls to rest, whether in an eternal plane of relaxation or torture."

"Because Morticus rules over the soul, I have a better sense at the spiritual side of powers." Kagami continued. "Whether it be seeing mana, souls, or memory streams."

"And I can see your memory stream if I focus. It's two paths which converge into one. But one of those paths seems to be locked up." Kagami stated.

"I could unlock it for you, but if I did I would also see those memories, and all of the memories you have that aren't unlocked. That's a huge invasion of privacy, so I want to ask for your permission first." Kagami stated.

This reminded me of when I watched as Principal did this same exact thing to Aoi. Asking for permission, before seeing the memories.

Is it worth it? Should I let him se my memories to find out what was with Ken before I took over?

"That's up to you." Loki gave his advice. "On whether you want to or not."

I debated the idea in my head. Ultimately, I decided it was worth it. I wanted to know what happened, even if Kagami would see.

And it would help for when I finally met Ken's mother.

"Do it." I nodded. "I give you permission."

"Alright." Kagami replied. He walked over, bringing a glowing finger up and lightly tapping my head.

And then I saw my whole life...lives...in a second.

I saw as I was kicked by my father, my sister watching through the door with a look of horror on her face. I mouthed for her to go away, so they would take their anger out on me.

"Damn brat!" Growled Father as he kicked me once more. "What are you thinking talking back to us! We give you shelter and food! Be more appreciative of this!"

"I don't think he'll ever get it." Sneered Mother. "He's an ungrateful idiot through and through."

Tears ran down my sister's eyes. I smiled at her to show her that it was alright.

"Do you think this is funny?!" He yelled as kicks me once more.

I saw as Mom made food in the kitchen, Dad and I sitting on the couch. We were watching the news, showing Aiko Kato becoming the principal of Legacy High.

"That's your godmother." Dad smiled down at me. "We've known her for a long time, and trust her with our lives."

"What's a godmother?" I curiously asked, looking up at him.

"Someone who will take care of you in case anything happens to us." Dad told me.

"I won't let that happen!" I declared.

"Ahaha, I know you won't." He grinned, ruffling my hair. "But I do want you to meet her once your older. She's a great lady."

"She has to be!" I grinned. "She's the principal of Legacy High! I can't wait to go there!"

"I know." Dad smiled, ruffling my hair once more.

"Hey!" I growled at him, swatting his hands off.

My Dad just laughed as Mom giggled from the kitchen. "Dinner's ready!"

I saw the door to my house. I slammed it open, entering. My sister hadn't come home yet, and me slamming the door should be enough to distract them from hurting her.

But unlike most days, I didn't hear any thundering of feet as I had entered. They must be out, gambling or drinking or something.

I set my shoes down, walking through the empty house. We didn't have many items. Most things belonged to Father or Mother. My sister and I only owned a couple of things for school.

The door slowly opened as she crept inside the house.

"It's okay." I smiled. "They aren't here."

"You sure?" She asked, looking up at me.

"Of course. When have I ever lied to you?" I smiled.

She ran over, wrapping her arms around me in a tight hug. "I don't like this. Why do you always get yourself hurt for me?"

She pulled up my shirt, looking at the bruise from yesterday. It had faded a little, but it was still obvious. I pulled the shirt back down, cutting the bruise off from her sight.

"Because I love you." I smiled. "You're my precious sister. I'll never let anything happen to you. I promise."

"...okay." She weakly replied, looking away.

"You better go to your room." I stated. "Before they arrive. Good luck on your homework."

She just nodded, walking into her room and closing the door behind her.

I waited for Father and Mother to come back home so I would be the first they would see. But even as it neared night, they didn't return. I didn't realize that I would never see them again.

I watched as Mom sat in the edge of my bed, smiling at me. I was under the covers, looking at her confused.

"What's up?" I asked her.

"Now that you've become thirteen, I think it's time we tell you something important." She stated.

"Please don't say it's the talk, I already had that with Dad." I groaned.

"No." She giggled. "But this really is important. You know the Four Great Sages, right?"

"Of course I do." I stated. "It's like the first thing they teach you in history. Why?"

"As you know, only two of the Great Sage Families are publicly known. But we know a third." She replied.

"Seriously?!" I couldn't believe it. "How?! Who?!"

"Well..." she chuckled. "It's us. The Kage."

"...what?" I gasped in surprise.

"My father, which is your grandfather, was a Great Sage." She stated. She handed me a book. In it was a diary, created by someone named Kagami Kage.

Skimming through it, I couldn't believe it. I really was the descendant of one of the Great Sages.

"But why? Why now?" I asked.

"We didn't want to tell you when you were too young. We were afraid it would make you become incredibly arrogant. We wanted you to grow up to be a kind individual." She explained.

"Well, you certainly succeeded. I'm great." I joked, earning a giggle from Mom. "But wow...I can't believe this."

"I know." She placed a hand on mine. "It's very important you don't tell anybody this, alright? Most probably wouldn't believe you without that diary though."

"I promise, I won't." I declared.

"I knew you would promise me that." She smiled. "But know that this doesn't give you any more pressure. You don't need to become the greatest adventure ever. First and foremost, you're my son."

"I know." I smiled. "But my goal is still to become the best adventurer ever. And i'm going to surpass you and show you that!"

Mom giggled. "I look forward to it."

I watched as I walked through the halls of school, everybody staring at me. No doubt they saw the black eye and the bandage on my cheek. If only they saw what was under my shirt.

They pitied me. They felt sorry. Yet no one didn't do anything. I couldn't blame them, but I definitely hated them for it.

"Hey shitface." Someone grinned, slapping me in the back of the head.

I slowly turned around to see one of my more frequent bullies, Cassidy. He was the school's bully, someone who everybody feared.

He was a simp for Kiera as well. I only hoped that he fell into her trap so he could be humiliated like I did.

Going from the most popular kid to the bullied one. I should have known that life had been too good on me ever since Father and Mother abandoned us.

"So, Teacher-Parent conferences are coming up." He grinned. "I can't wait to meet your-oh wait a minute! They hated you so much they left!"

I have no idea how he found out.

"Personally I can't wait to see your mother again." I dryly replied. "I hope she's feeling alright after last night. We went pretty hard last night, you know?"

I was greeted with a fist to the face. I collapsed onto the floor as Cassidy slammed a kick into my midsection.

"Know your place." He growled.

I heard the chatter of the students around us as they continued to pity me. I bet they wondered why I continued to antagonize him when it only brought me pain.

I've had worse.

"Hah..." I laughed. "That was my best comeback yet."

I watched as I sat on the train, heading to Tokyo. I couldn't wait. This would be the moment. I was on my way to Legacy High. I'd finally meet my godmother and start my journey to becoming an amazing adventurer.

I had always been inspired by them, with Mom being one of the most powerful ones in Japan. I've always wanted to make my parents proud.

It's all for them.

I watched as I staggered home from a long day of working. After leaving school I had much more time to work. I thumbed the money in my hands. Just keep saving. You'll make it through this.

It's all for her.

I watched as I entered my new apartment after greeting the landlady Ellie. Apparently she was an old friend of my mother's.

I watched as I entered the house, a sweet smell entering my nose as food was set on the table. Kira looked up from the table, happily smiling at me.

"I thought you would miss it!" She happily grinned.

"I couldn't miss your birthday, even if I have to work." I smiled.

"Here." I pulled out a cheap necklace with a heart on it and held it to her. "I'm sorry that I couldn't get you anything more than this."

"No!" She quickly replied, taking it from my hands and looking at it with a smile. "It's perfect. Thank you."

"Can you...put it on me?" She shyly asked me, handing me the necklace.

"Of course." I smiled, placing the necklace around her neck.

I watched myself yawn as I walked to the bed. I had been trying to get ready for the upcoming entry exam. I had to make it.

I collapsed onto the bed.

I watched as I got ready to see the final episode of Heaven's Hell. But as I went to start it, I yawned as I felt incredibly tired from work.

I collapsed onto the couch.

I watched as I woke up. Woke up to become...me. The union of two souls into one. I am Ken Kage.

I suddenly realized I was back in the real world, Grandpa staring at me with a shocked expression. "My god." He gasped.

I quickly wrapped my arms around him in a hug. I...I remember. Holy shit, I remember...

"Ha..hahaha..." I laughed as tears ran down my eyes. "Guess I finally get to meet you Grandpa..."
