It's been a month since I leveled up to Tier 2, which means we are now three months into the school year. It's no longer April, and now June.

In this time Eric actually leveled up to Tier 2, unlocking his OP Legend's Spirit ability. This actually happened quicker than in the anime, which is most likely due to the fact that Eric is now a regular at Taiyou Dojo.

And quickly after that Lily also leveled up to Tier 2, no doubt due to the boost from Legend's Spirit, and since she also became a regular. That was no doubt due to Eric being a regular, I'm sure.

In this month I haven't been slacking either. I've practiced with my Tier 1 ability so much that now I can manipulate the fire easily. I just can't do a complicated manipulation like what Bianca did, with shattering ice into pieces and then making EVERY SINGLE ONE of those pieces fly towards the opponent. That's incredible skill I won't have with my fire for quite a while.

And school has been helping me with learning more about Monsters, getting combat experience against fellow Arcana users, and having a small social life.

I made one new friend. Kai. If that name sounds familiar, that's because he was the best friend of Eric in the anime. And then I stole that spot and we never encountered Kai.

He ended up being in a lot of my classes, and at some point we started talking. Now he's a friend.

Somehow I think Lily and Iris became friends as well, despite the fact that they shouldn't have even met yet. This is incredibly dangerous, considering Lily is a yandere and Iris is going to become one.

I've been keeping an eye on them, but everything's been calm so far. No more victims by Lily, nor any evidence that Lily has influenced Iris with any yandere-ness.

But this can only be the calm before the storm, as we have one more event before the end of the first Arc.

The final part of Arc 1 is when a couple of D Rank Monsters are released from a rift. The area is evacuated, and considering that they are only D Rank Monsters, Eric's class is sent to take them out as some field experience.

If it was only D Rank Monsters, this wouldn't have been a problem. What happens is a B Rank also comes out of the rift once they arrive. They then have to work with the teacher to take out both the B Rank and the D Ranks.

Dangerous. And I believe this event can happen any day now. The second Arc takes place right before Summer Break, which makes me believe it is in July. This event happens right before Arc 2, so it must be in June. There's also the fact that it hasn't happened yet despite being halfway into June already which makes me believe it's soon.

"Today's boring..." I heard Kai mutter.

"I know. I already completely know about the Scorpius." I quietly sighed.

"You're such a try-hard." Kai whispered.

Suddenly the teacher got a call. He put it up to his ear, listening, before hanging up.

"Alright class, a rift appeared in the city, letting out a bunch of D Rank Monsters. The area has been evacuated and the Monsters are contained in a small plaza. They want to send our class out to get you guys some field experience against actual monsters." The teacher explained.

...

You're fucking with me, right?

That did not just happen.

...

Fuck you fate!

We immediately started getting any equipment we had ready. Many Adventurers wear equipment to better protect themselves. Me and my poor ass could only afford some poor light armor. Basically as good as skateboard shoulder and knee pads.

But a cool thing is that equipment can even be enchanted. Some Arcanas have the ability to enchant an effect onto equipment. But only rich people can afford that sadly.

Anyways, we got ready and were quickly deployed to the area. Most Adventurers have some sort of transport system in order to quickly get to rifts and save people. Like a car or motorcycle.

We have a bus.

Well what did you expect? We're students.

"Add some spikes and war paint and you got yourself an apocalyptic battle bus." Loki commented.

You're awake?

"Hell yeah! I can't miss the action!" Loki cheered. "I could always watch the recorded memory but seeing it in real time is SO much better. Like watching a movie at the theater! I even got popcorn!"

No clue how the hell you got popcorn, but okay.

"Nervous Kai?" I asked my friend, seeing he seemed a little jittery. I sat next to him, while Lily sat across from us with Eric.

"Yeah. A little. Real Monsters." He replied..

"It'll be fine." I lied.

This train's going off the rails.

After all, a B Rank should appear if this goes the same way the anime went. However considering the Minotaur, my very presence can even change things. I need to be prepared for anything.

I looked at the students in the bus. All of us were first years, and from the people in our class I recognized Kai, Lily, Eric, and Cole "scumbag"Carson. Everyone else were students I didn't personally know.

The bus finally stopped. We exited the bus, entering the plaza where the D Ranks were contained.

Entering the plaza, it was a bunch of crabbers with the rift shimmering in the middle, crackling.

"Students, we all know the weakness of a Crabber. Aim for their underside. If you can't do that, they're still only a D Rank and can be easily killed from the top as well. Work together. I'll be here in case anything goes wrong." The teacher explained.

We all nodded, before grouping with our friends.

"Who is this?" Eric asked, looking at Kai.

"Kai. A friend of mine." I replied.

Eric and Kai hadn't officially met.

"I see..." Eric replied. "Nice to meet you. I'm Eric."

"I'm Lily." She greeted.

"Nice to meet you too. You two can call me Kai." Kai smiled.

Similar to Eric, Kai is also very friendly. That's why they got along so well in the anime.

Now despite us standing here and greeting each other these Crabbers were still running around, and they weren't going to wait on us. A Crabber jumped at us, but I threw Loki at it, implanting it in it's skull and killing it.

Oh, and Loki looked just the same as when it was "Fenrir". Loki says I haven't unlocked his "true form" yet or something stupid like that. The three symbols were still stated there, which I finally figured out.

The wolf which stood for Fenrir, Loki's son, and the fact I had to "hold the wolf's fangs".

The serpent stood for another one of Loki's children, Jormungandr, or the fact that Loki's symbol is a snake.

The final one took more time, but I figured out it was actually the rune which corresponds to Loki, Kaunaz. The rune of illumination, knowledge, and kinship.

Everybody still believes that it's Fenrir however. They also think that I'm still Tier 1. I picked up Loki from the dead body, looking at the others. The Crabber started to fade. Monsters always fade, but weaker monsters tend to fade quicker.

"We should probably start fighting unless you want to become crab food." I stated, sweatdropping.

"Right!" They responded.

We quickly started to take out the D Rank, but we really weren't working together. We all just took out one by ourselves, before moving to another one.

Crabbers are not a threat to anyone who wields an Arcana. The rest of the class was also taking them out one-on-one easily. The teacher slowly scanned, watching to make sure everybody was okay.

I finished off another Crabber, chopping it in half with Loki. As I looked around for my next target, I saw Cole ready some sort of red ball in his hand.

But he wasn't looking towards any Crabber, but rather the back of Eric.

A memory of what Loki had said the day I met him rang through my mind. "You act like the main character is the only one who changes things. But you can change things too."

I rushed forwards, thrusting my Arcana in front of Cole as he unleashed some sort of small red laser. It hit Loki, deflecting off it's face into the sky.

"What the hell are you doing?!" I yelled at him.

The Teacher suddenly looked at us. "What's going on over there?!" He demanded.

"Sir-" Cole started to say, but I quickly cut him off.

"He tried to attack Eric while everyone was distracted." I growled.

"Carson!" The Teacher angrily yelled. "Is this true?!"

"No, I-" Cole tried to deny before someone's shout interrupted him.

"Something's coming through the rift!" A student yelled.

It crawled it's way out of the rift, and I could see everyone freeze in fear as the air got cold.

B Rank Monster, Ice Golem.

"So, what's it going to be Carson? You going to be a real Adventurer-In-Training and help fight this thing? Or are you going to be a dick and fight me, you backstabbing scumbag?" I taunted.

"Damn you!" Cole screamed, rushing at me.

Good. Can't trust a backstabber to work together.

I heard the teacher shout something to the other students, but I ignored it. I needed to focus on getting this backstabber out.

He slammed his mace onto the ground as I barely dodged. Quickly picking it up he swung it at me in rage. I easily sidestepped it. As he swung and swung and only missed, he got angrier with every fail.

And with it, his swings became less refined.

"Stay still!" He screamed. "You shouldn't have messed with me! I'm a damn Tier 2!"

He thrust his mace towards me, and it reminded me of a moment from the Dojo. When they would throw the punch and I would grip their wrist.

I let it go past my head as I gripped his wrist, using his momentum to flip him over my shoulder and slam him onto he ground. He laid on the ground, knocked out.

Finally I did the correct maneuver.

"Piece of shit." I muttered, glaring at him.

I looked over to where the students and teacher were fighting the Ice Golem. All the Crabbers were gone, so no worry of one eating Cole. But I better go help.
