Okay Ken, calm down. There's only a yandere right here seeing you read a book about her family. Everything is fine.

...

Everything's not fine.

She was really pretty, with blond hair tied in a ponytail and blue eyes. Her ears slightly stuck out, with pointed tips. She was an elf, in real life. She wore a blue dress with black shoes.

Everything's not fine.

...

Wait, I have a plan.

I don't believe Iris Aegis is yandere yet.

The reason that Iris Aegis is such a scary yandere is the fact that she is super kind, even to those mean to her. Like an angel. But if someone hurts her love, Eric, she'll kill them without a bat of the eye.

A complete turn around.

But I don't think she's yandere yet. Let's just say that in the anime some shit happens that I believe makes her the way she is. It's never explicitly stated what makes her yandere, but she goes through some stuff that's likely the cause.

And she hasn't met Eric yet. Her object of affection. He should be arriving to Japan soon, but not yet. She shouldn't be yandere.

So I'll just dissuade her interest in me by being a complete jerk and showing her I don't want to talk to her at all. After all, who would want to talk to someone who seems to hate them?

I placed the book back onto the shelf while looking at Iris in the corner of my eye. What to say, what to say...

Got it.

"I don't need your help." I said as coldly as I could. Immediately I turned around and started to walk away.

I could feel cold sweat drip down my face.

"Rude." I heard her mutter as I walked away.

Doesn't seem like anything happened. Just in case, I need to get to a public place quick.

I quickly left the library, walking towards a nearby park filled with people. I sat down at the fountain, sighing in relief.

I should be fine. Hopefully this dissuades her from ever talking to me again, shall we ever meet again.

My pocket suddenly started to buzz, making me slightly jump in alarm. I need to calm down, everything's fine now.

Pulling out my phone, I noticed it was a text from the owner of my apartment complex.

Basically, the only reason I'm allowed to stay at my apartment by myself is because my parents are friends with the owner of the complex.

The owner of the complex also happens to be Ellie Arthurson, the aunt of Eric, the main character. Dangerous, but better than being alone, out in the streets.

Ellie: Hey Ken, my nephew is coming to Japan today. Since you two are the same age, I was wondering if you can give him a tour.

Me: Can I refuse?

Ellie: Don't be like that. Besides, your parents already promised me that you would.

Damn you and damn my parents! He's the one person I need to avoid the most!

...can't anything go my way today?

Me: What do I need to do?

Ellie: Meet me at the train station. After that I have to go for some important business.

Me: Fine, I'll be there.

Sighing, I pocketed my phone. It's almost time for canon to start. The anime starts a month into Eric's life here in Japan and the start of my life at the adventurer high school.

I really hope that this doesn't ruin my plan to stay away from Eric...

I walked through the bustling crowd, heading on my way to the train station. As I walked through the crowd, I realized how different this world is from my former. I could see elves, fairies, centaurs, and many other kinds of fantastical creatures.

It's fascinating, to see a fantastical creature in real life.

Eventually I did finally get to the train station. It took a little while because of how busy Tokyo is in the middle of the day.

I walked into the train station, noticing a tall woman with blond hair. Jogging over, she turned around to reveal the person I was looking for.

"You're almost late." Ellie said as I arrived.

"Have you seen the streets outside? It's ridiculous how busy it is." I grumbled.

"Can't argue about that." Ellie nodded.

"Hey, if your nephew is coming from America, why is he on a train?" I wondered.

"He got a plane to Japan, then a train to Tokyo." Ellie explained.

"Ah, that makes more sense." I replied.

But why not just a plane to Tokyo?

"Here. Follow me." Ellie said, walking away.

Following her back through the train station, which was almost as busy as outside, we walked to the platform which Eric would be getting off of.

Waiting there for a minute, a train quickly arrived, stopping in front of us. The doors opened, letting people exit the train.

A blond boy stumbled out, closely resembling Ellie.

It was Eric. The Main Character of Heaven's Hell.

He was thin and light, and despite that he wore large, baggy clothes. An oversized hoodie and pants. He had golden blond hair with bright green eyes.

"Aunt Ellie!" He greeted.

"Hey squirt." Replied Ellie, ruffling his hair. "How are you?"

"Good! I'm excited!" Eric replied. "The view to here from Japan was amazing!"

"Thats nice." Ellie smiled.

"Who's this?" Eric asked, looking towards me.

"Ken Kage." I greeted, extending my hand out. "It's nice to meet you."

I can't be a jerk to him. Not only is Ellie here, but if the yanderes eventually find out I was a jerk to him they might murder me. Better not to risk it. I'll just give him a tour and then hopefully never talk to him again.

"Eric Arthurson." He greeted, shaking my hand. "Nice to meet you Kage."

"Just call me Ken." I replied.

Having people call me by my last name feels strange.

"Alright Ken." Smiled Eric. "You can call me Eric."

Crap. I just created a small bit of friendship. In Japan calling people by their first name is only something close people do!

You idiot!!!!

"Ken here will be giving you a tour. He also lives at my apartment, so if you ever need any help you can always ask him." Ellie explained.

Don't throw your responsibilities onto me.

"I have some important business to do, so I'll head out now. See you later." She said, waving as she walked away.

"Where to first?" Asked Eric. Despite the fact he'll be given a tour by a complete stranger, he seems excited.

Well, maybe I can take a small break and have some fun.

We walked around different parts of Tokyo, sometimes using the subway system to quickly travel. We couldn't hit everywhere, so I tried to show him the most fun and essential places to know.

Eric is the kind of guy easy to get along with. Really kind and really loyal. He's kind of like that one dog that can't help but make you smile, even on a bad day.

"And here is our second to last stop." I declared. "The corner store right by our apartment complex."

I gestured to the store right in front of me.

"Wow." Eric gasped. "It's like America's gas stations, but without the gas."

"Yeah." I agreed. I would know, I also lived in America in my past life.

We walked through the self-opening doors into the small store. The cashier read a magazine at the counter as some people looked through the aisles.

"Here is where you can get any essentials. Food, medicine, magazines, and more." I explained.

"That's awesome. So I just come here for groceries then?" Eric asked.

"Yep. It's slightly larger than a gas station as it also holds food." I explained.

"Amazing. How do you know that? Did you use to live in America too?" Eric asked, amazed.

"Uhh..." I can't tell him in my past life. "I was curious and studied America a lot." I lied.

"That's really cool." Eric complimented.

He starts to look around, before looking to the magazines and starting to turn red.

"Oh, you found those magazines. Yeah, better stay way from buying those unless you want to be labeled a pervert." I commented.

"They have these right here in the open?!" Gasped Eric, pointing at some certain magazines.

"Yeah. It's not-so-subtle." I agreed. "Anyways, our last stop now is the apartment complex. You ready."

"Yeah." Replied Eric, still a little red.

Together we walked out of the corner store. I know I shouldn't get close with Eric, but he really is fun to hang out with.

The last time I had this fun was in...a long time. A really long time.

Wait, I have an idea!

If I can establish myself as the "best friend" then I can't be hurt by the yanderes! In the anime Eric had a best friend named Kai who was eventually accepted by the yanderes.

This would give me an easy ticket to avoiding being a target of the yanderes. Of course it's not foolproof, there's a chance it may not work. But it worked in the anime, so it could work.

"AHHHHHHH!!!!!" A sudden bloodcurdling scream cut me off from my thoughts.

Eric and I swiftly turned towards the scream, surprised. After all, you don't usually hear random loud screams. Especially at this time.

And then my blood went cold.

A rift was opening up right in front of the corner store. People started to scatter, running in every direction away from the rift.

Through the rift, a giant claw reached out, slamming against the ground.

It's a dragon.
