"Damn it!" The King of the Aegis Family screamed, slamming the door to his room open.
Behind him walked in his personal butler. He softly shut the door behind himself, locking it as the King stomped around the room.
He grabbed a beer off of the table in his room, chugging it down his throat. He angrily placed the empty bottle back onto the table, muttering curses under his breath.
"I can't believe this!" He furiously exclaimed. "That idiot son of mine and fucking Cyrus couldn't do one simple task and then got themselves killed! Now I don't have a worthless successor to the throne!"
"They just had to assassinate Irene and Iris! How hard could it be if you catch them off guard?! They did it at Irene's speech, and almost killed her!" The King ranted.
"I can't believe this! Irene was able to reveal the fact that we discovered that Arcana's can be upgraded! At this rate, both of them will overshadow me!" He cried out.
"Nobody will remember King Ivan, and instead will remember the incredible princesses Irene and Iris! No, by that time Irene would become the Queen!" The King realized.
"Damn it!" He screamed, slamming a fist onto the table. "What went wrong?!"
The King paused for a moment, before seemingly reaching a conclusion. "That damned brat..." He growled.
"He saved Irene, and then saved Iris. Damn it! He's the fucking reason! And if Irene really does marry him, then he'll be the next King!" The King angrily shouted.
"Damn it! I'm supposed to be one of the most famous Kings, remembered for centuries! Lupercio promised that as long as I got them out of my way, he'd make me one of the most important figures in the new world!" He screeched.
The King picked up another beer bottle, easily downing it all in one chug. Stumbling, he barely placed it onto the table without it falling.
"Damn it! Damn it! Damn it! At this rate I won't have a legacy for the future to admire!" He growled.
The King went into thought, before seemingly reaching a conclusion. "I need to get rid of that damned brat!"
"He's the cause of all of my problems! With him out of the way, I'll be able to get rid of the rest!" He realized.
"But how will I do that...?" He wondered.
"Maybe a breath of fresh air will help, Your Highness." Suggested the butler, bowing down.
The King gazed at him. "Hmm...maybe you're right. I have heard that a deep breath of fresh air can help."
He stumbled over to the balcony that's as attached to his room. Unlocking and opening the glass door he staggered onto the balcony, leaning on the banister, taking a deep breath of the night air.
"Hey, get me another beer!" He ordered the butler.
"Of course, Your Highness." Bowed the butler. He grabbed a beer bottle from the table, walking over to the balcony.
He handed the King the beer. King Ivan chugged it down, groaning as he held it in his hand. "Fuck..." he growled.
The King sighed, likely thinking up of ways to accomplish his plans. Unfortunately for him, they'd never come to fruition.
The King felt a hard shove on his back, sending him flying over the railing. As he fell down, he stared with wide eyes at the butler who had pushed him off.
And as he fell, the butler started to change appearance. No longer did her look his personal butler, but instead as that damned brat.
He wanted to scream, but the air was taken out of his lungs. He could only stare at the man who took everything away from him as he fell.
And that damned brat...was me.
I winced as I saw King Ivan splatter against the ground, beer bottle in hand. Dead. Blood stained the ground under him, leaving a gruesome sight.
With how I handled this, the authorities should believe that the King, in his drunken stupor, fell to his death. His room had no cameras, so no one would know the truth.
The plan wasn't too complicated. Moving into Aegis Mansion actually quite helped. I just needed to touch the King's personal bodyguard and observe his movements and mannerisms before making my move.
I walked back into the room with shaky legs, before sliding down against the wall. I actually did it. I murdered someone.
...
I should feel upset, or remorseful, or regretful. I should feel bad. But I don't. I don't feel bad at all for ending a life.
Why?
Lives are precious. So why don't I feel anything?
Maybe it's because of what I had heard as the King rambled. Maybe it's his complete disregard for family similar to Isaac which made me lose all sympathy for him.
Well, I was right in my assumption. King Ivan was in fact the traitor. He even mentioned Lupercio and having some sort of deal with him.
And then suddenly the door to King Ivan's room was kicked down, revealing Isabella Aegis, the Queen.
"Ken?" She muttered, confused. "Where's Ivan? Where's the butler?"
"..." I stayed silent, looking away guiltily. While I didn't have any guilt for Ivan, the Queen was actually a nice person unlike her husband.
She gasped. "You're the one who impersonated as Ivan's personal butler. You must have done it with your Disguise skill."
"How'd you figure it out?" I softly asked.
"I found the real one tied up in a closet with his mouth taped shut." Isabella replied.
My bad.
"Where's Ivan, Ken?" Isabella asked.
I gazed at Isabella. I don't know what Tier she's at or how good of a fighter she is. All I know is that she's stronger than me.
I'll have to confess. Hopefully I can bring her to my side, and not be killed. Though considering who she's the parent of, I don't know if I'll be able to.
"Over the railing." I stated.
Isabella's eyes widened. "You murdered him." She realized.
"..." I stayed silent, ridden with guilt.
"Why?" Isabella asked. "Why save my two daughters, and then kill my husband?"
"You're awfully calm for having your husband murdered." I noted.
"Answer the question." Demanded Isabella.
"He's...He's not the man you think he is..." I sadly stated.
"What do you mean?" Isabella asked, narrowing her eyes at me.
I pulled out a tape recorder I had stashed in my pocket ahead of time. I stopped the recording, before rewinding it back.
"I can't believe this!" The King's voice screamed from the recorder. "That idiot son of mine and fucking Cyrus couldn't do one simple task and got themselves killed! Now I don't have a worthless successor to the throne!"
"They just had to assassinate Irene and Iris! How hard could it be if you catch them off guard?! They did it at Irene's speech, and almost killed her!" The recorded King ranted.
Isabella gasped, staring at the device in my hands as I stopped the recording.
"He...he was the one behind it all, huh...?" Isabella sighed sadly.
Isn't this...an odd reaction? I just murdered your husband, and by the fact that your daughters are yanderes, I'd think you'd be a yandere too.
Shouldn't your reaction be much more...intense?
"Why are you so calm?" I asked.
"Ivan...wasn't my first love..." Isabella revealed.
"What?!" I exclaimed.
She nodded. "I used to love another man, but he then died. A little after that is when Ivan asked me to become his Queen."
"So you married into the family." I realized.
"Yes. And then I had Irene, Iris, and Isaac. I'll never regret that, however." She smiled.
"They take after you a lot. Looks I mean." I commented.
"Ara Ara~, are you flirting with me, Ken?" Isabella giggled.
"W-what?! No!" I denied.
Did she just 'Ara Ara' me?
She continued to giggle. "I'm just joking."
She then went silent, before finally saying something else. "Thank you. For everything."
"What do you mean?" I asked. "Because of me, Isaac's dead. And now I've murdered your husband."
"I'm not sure if Ivan ever loved me." Isabella sighed. "He may have just been after my body. Maybe he even had something to do with my previous lover's death. I will never know, but in that moment of weakness I accepted his offer."
"But I'll never regret that, because now I have a family. Yes, Isaac and Ivan are now dead. But you saved both Irene Iris, and even myself from dying. So, thank you." Isabella smiled.
"Ah...you're welcome." I nodded, slightly speechless. "So...now what will happen?"
"I'll likely become the new Council Member, replacing my husband's position." Isabella stated. "You don't need to worry. I'll handle everything about Ivan's death."
"Sorry." I sheepishly apologized.
Isabella smiled. "Thank you. Just promise me one thing."
"Sure. What is it?" I wondered.
"Get me some grand babies soon. With either Irene or Iris. Oh! Or even both! We need to grow the family!" Isabella happily stated.
...
"...wait wHAT?!"
