I thought that canon started in a month. I may have been wrong.
In the first episode of the anime Eric is adjusting to his new life in Japan. But as he is outside, a rift opens up right by him and releases a lesser dragon.
This anime really likes the D - S ranked system, as monsters are also ranked that way. A lesser dragon is ranked as a B rank threat. While not the most dangerous, it's nothing to scoff at.
Lesser dragons are about the size of a bus, have strong armor, and breathe fire. They're dangerous.
And in the first episode one is released right by the defenseless Eric. But instead of running away like everyone else, he helps others get away.
This noble heart of his also puts him in extreme danger. But soon the Principal of Legacy High, with Bianca Tsuki, come to take out the dragon.
And upon seeing Eric's bravery or some stupid shit like that, as the principal, she asks if Eric wants to go to Legacy High, one of the best adventurer schools in the world.
Of course he says yes.
It's this event that kickstarts the whole anime.
But I didn't realize that it would be on his first day here! No wonder he was still adjusting to his new life, it was his first day!
"Eric, we need to get out of here." I said, backing up as the lesser dragon crawled out of the rift.
"But what about her?!" Eric cried, pointing towards a little girl who had attempted to run away, only to trip and fall. The mom looked behind her in horror seeing her daughter fall and seeing the lesser dragon turn towards said fallen daughter.
"Shit!" I cursed.
I may want to survive, but I still have morals. I'm not just going to see a little girl explode from being stomped upon by a big bad dragon.
That's disgusting. I'd be sick to my stomach for a long time.
I ran the quickest I ever have before, jumping and tackling the fallen little girl. The lesser dragon's foot stomped right where I just was, leaving a dragon footprint in the ground.
"Eric! Get the rest out of here!" I yelled at him.
Eric nodded, grabbing the arm of the mother to drag her away from the lesser dragon. "Come on! She'll be fine, I promise! Ken has her!"
He dragged the mom away as I picked up the little girl, cradling her in my arms. She couldn't have even been five yet. This could traumatize her for life.
At least it's better than death.
I quickly started to run away from the dragon while carrying the small girl. I could feel the heat of fire on my bum.
My god...I almost got roasted alive like a turkey.
The speed at which I was running somehow quickened as I heard the lesser dragon stomp after me.
I can't believe this I can't believe this I can't believe this I can't believe this I can't believe this I can't believe this I can't believe this I can't believe this I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS!!!!!
My heart's pounding. I feel like I could die from a heart attack at any moment.
"Over here!" Eric yelled, waving me over.
"Did you get everyone out?" I asked him.
"I think so." He nodded.
"Take the child then. I'll distract the dragon." I decided.
Im not going to let a five year old die today.
"Then you could die!" Eric gasped.
A roar erupted in the air.
"We all could die! The dragon's chasing me, so I'll distract it. You just get this child to her mother." I finalized.
By no means am I sacrificing myself. That's stupid. I'm just leading the dragon away so I don't see the death of a little girl. Bianca and the Principal should arrive at any moment and take care of the dragon.
"You two! What are you two doing?!" A voice snapped me out of my thoughts.
Right on cue.
The Principal stood right in front of us, staring at us with a hard glare that sent shivers down my spine. And not the good kind. How the hell did she even get there?
"Bianca, can you take care of the lesser dragon?" She asked, turning to look at the girl behind her.
"Of course." Bianca nodded monotonously.
Bianca is a beautiful girl with long, snow white hair and deep blue eyes. She wore a normal blue shirt with a black skirt and black shoes. Oh yeah, and she's a Kuudere.
Aiko Kato, the principal, is a beautiful woman with slick, raven colored hair with crimson red eyes. She has a saber strapped to her waist at all times, and I'm not sure why.
A lot of beautiful and cute women are in Heaven's Hell. And a lot of handsome and cute men. Eric's a little cute himself.
"Well I don't exactly want to see a young girl die." I replied.
"We just wanted to help." Eric added.
Aiko sighed. "I get that, but neither of you have Arcana's, do you?"
We both shook our heads.
"You're just putting yourself in danger." Aiko sighed. "Wait..." She suddenly said, looking at me.
"What?" I asked, confused.
"You're Ken Kage, right?" She asked.
How do you know who I am? I'm supposed to be a mob character!
"You're an upcoming freshman, aren't you? I make sure I know every student that attends my school. Im the principal of Legacy High, Aiko Kato." She introduced herself.
"You should watch Bianca. She'll show you where you can be if you work hard enough." Aiko said, gesturing towards the teenager.
Bianca stood across from the lesser dragon, staring it down emotionlessly. In her right hand suddenly appeared a long, blue spear. It was thin, and at both ends it ended with a sharp point.
It's her Arcana. An Arcana always manifests in physical form as a weapon. Her Arcana is a spear.
Skadi, the Norse Goddess of ice.
The lesser dragon opened it's mouth, releasing a spiraling flame towards Bianca. She extended her arm out, completely unfazed.
In front of her a giant wall of ice was created, blocking the flame. The flame melted some of it, but as the flame died down the wall of ice still stood, albeit damaged.
Bianca kicked the ice wall, shattering it into pieces. Pointing her hand at the lesser dragon, the pieces of ice flew towards the creature, piercing it with shards of ice.
The dragon let out a bellowing roar in pain.
"How is she doing that?!" Gasped Eric.
"Bianca's at Tier 6." Aiko explained. "Her Tier 1 ability allows her to manipulate and create basic structures of ice. With all the training she has done, she's able to manipulate it amazingly."
Remember, this is her Tier 1 ability after a ton of training. She's at Tier 6. You see why this world is so dangerous if you're on the wrong side of the yanderes?
With each Tier, a new ability is unlocked, small or large, situational or not. That's why the yanderes in this world are so dangerous. They're constantly getting stronger.
They train, they "level up", and they unlock new powers. Just imagine the strength of Brandon, who's at Tier 15! It's insane!
And I have no powers at all. However, i'll change this once I get to Legacy High and unlock my Arcana.
Bianca rushed at the dragon, slicing it's foot with the end of her spear. It roared in pain, stomping around with an injured foot.
Ice slowly started to crawl up Bianca's body, covering her in a thin, protective layer of ice. This is another one of her abilities, Frozen Armor if I remember correctly.
The dragon slammed it's tail down onto Bianca, who raised her hands up to block it, a neutral look still on her face. A small indent was created into the floor from the force of the tail, but Bianca stayed unmoving.
She grabbed the end of the tail with one hand and her spear with the other. Using the sharp end of her spear she cut off the dragon's tail, causing it to wail in pain. The tail dropped to the ground as the dragon backed up, roaring in a mixture of pain and anger.
In Bianca's hand a bow made from pure ice started to form. Yes, even the string. I'm not even sure how that works. This is another one of her abilities, so that must be how.
Placing her spear onto the bow, she aimed the bow as if she was going to shoot the spear like an arrow. It sounds ridiculous, but it works.
She let go of the string, letting the spear go flying. The spear went straight through the dragon's skull, killing it. The ice bow melted away, leaving her hands free for her spear to fly back into them. The spear then disappeared, back to where it came from.
When an Arcana is awakened, it bonds with the soul. This allows the user to materialize and dematerialize the weapon.
"That...was..." Eric gaped in stupor.
It's really a different thing seeing it in real life.
Can I become that strong? Strong enough to survive the oncoming events?
"As much as I hate to admit it, if it weren't for you two there would have been casualties. We're lucky you two were here." Aiko sighed.
She looked at us once more. "You're already heading to my school, and I believe you'll do great there. As for you, who are you?"
"Eric Arthurson ma'am." He saluted.
"Do you want to come to Legacy High and be an adventurer?" She asked.
Eric looked at her shocked, before looking over to me, like he wanted my advice. I nodded.
"I'll go." He smiled.
"Good! I'll get the transfer papers ready. See you boys then." She said. "Alright Bianca, back we go."
Don't get me wrong, I didn't nod because I feel Eric is a friend. Definitely not. I need my main character shield for my plan to work.
He's not my friend....
Right...?
