I looked at myself in the mirror again, examining my features. I was back as Kyle Johnson somehow. My messy black hair and hazel eyes stood out, different from my look I was greeted to the last couple of months.

I'm uglier here...

The door to my room then suddenly opened as a familiar face entered. It felt like I hadn't seen her in years.

Her curly black hair which reached her neck, and her bright hazel eyes and cheery smile. I almost broke down in tears just from seeing her alone.

"Oh, you're up." Kira said. "I made breakfast."

I stared at her, surprised by her sudden appearance.

"Kyle? You okay?" She asked.

I jumped, quickly grabbing her into a hug and holding her tight against me. I could feel her warmth as I wrapped my arms around her.

It felt so real. What's going on?

I felt tears pool at the end of my eyes, but I quietly sucked them back up. I'm not going to cry. Not right now.

"I'm sorry..." I muttered.

"Are you okay?" Kira worriedly asked, looking up at me.

"Yeah...I'm fine." I slowly replied. "Just a bad dream. I'll be down in a moment."

"Alright." Kira nodded, exiting the room.

What the hell? What's going on?

Was that really a dream? It felt way too real to be a dream. I could feel every single day that happened there, over the span of multiple months.

So it couldn't be a dream. But then what's going on?

I took out my phone, checking the time. This was the year of 2016, October 7.

Before I was transmigrated to Heaven's Hell, the year was 2018. This means I also went two years into the past...

Seriously, what the hell is going on? This doesn't make any sense.

Getting ready for the day, I went downstairs to get breakfast from Kira. She had made pancakes and bacon.

"Pancakes?" I asked.

"Yeah." Kira replied. "I got better! I promise!"

Is she talking about that one time she burnt the pancakes..? It was so long ago...

Taking a pancake into my mouth, I savored the amazing taste that flooded my tastebuds. It's been so long since I've had pancakes.

After eating the pancakes I stood up and grabbed my school bag, waking to the door.

"Have a good day." Smiled Kira.

"You too." I replied. "I'll be late tonight, so make yourself dinner."

"Okay." Kira said, a little sad.

The words came to me like a reflex, spoken out before I even realized it. It was so familiar.

Today felt so familiar...

I didn't go to school. I needed to think things out. I walked over to the nearby park, sitting down on a bench and trying to collect my thoughts.

After months in the world of Heaven's Hell, I was transported back into my world, yet two years in the past...

"Kira...I'm back..." I muttered.

I cried for a little while on that bench, before eventually wiping away the tears and gathering my rampaging thoughts together.

Could I prevent...that?

It'd be better if I cut things off. Yet a question still plagued my mind. Why did she do it? Yes, she's crazy, but why?

"Ken...." A familiar voice barely reached my ears.

I jumped up in surprise, looking around frantically. I didn't see anybody, and the voice was too faint for me to guess who it was.

What was that?

"I'm going crazy. I'm really going crazy, aren't I?" I thought, sitting back down onto the bench.

I rubbed my eyes, trying to calm myself down. But how could I calm down? With everything that is going on, how could I calm down?

Just after I got used to living in that world, I'm back here. But again, two years in the past.

I've read isekai, transmigration, and rewind stories, but never have they been as complicated as this. Basically as complicated as some of the lore of Heaven's Hell.

A sudden idea flooded my mind. I searched up Heaven's Hell onto my phone, only to be disappointed at the results.

Only two seasons have been released at the moment, so I can't watch the final episode and learn about the surprise twist.

And I can't read the light novel because it hasn't been translated yet. It's still in Japanese...

Wait a moment! Can I still read Japanese? When I transmigrated to Heaven's Hell, I was able to completely understand Japanese as if it was my first language.

Searching it up, I started to read some Japanese on my phone to realize that I could in fact read Japanese still.

Does that mean I can use my Arcana still? It is bonded to the soul after all...

I tried to bring my Arcana out, just like how I had done hundreds of times before, but I couldn't feel it. I couldn't feel the connection between Loki and I.

What is going on?

"Ken..." The voice said, slightly louder.

I jumped up once more in surprise. Looking around, I still couldn't locate a source for the faint whispering. I was alone in the park.

"This confirms it. Im going crazy." I groaned, rubbing my temples.

Heaven's Hell couldn't have been a dream. Not since I can now understand Japanese. So what the hell is going on?

Is Loki up to something again? Hey, this isn't funny.

"Kyle? What are you doing here?" A voice asked.

Looking over, it was one of my former friends. I barely remembered his face and had no idea what his name was.

"Hey..." I weakly said. I didn't want to talk to him.

"Did you skip?" He asked. "You weren't at school today?"

"Did school end?" I wondered, slightly surprised. I didn't realize I've been here this long. It certainly didn't feel that long.

"Yeah, it just did." He responded. "What are you doing here?"

"My sister got sick, so I took care of her today." I lied. "I took a quick break to get a breath of fresh air since she's asleep right now."

"Ah, I see." He nodded. "Well, hope she gets better."

"Thanks." I said with a fake smile on my face. Of course, he didn't notice.

He walked away, leaving me alone once more.

Fuck you.

My phone vibrated, making me pick it up and look at it. A had a text from a name I hadn't seen for a long time. One I didn't want to see.

"Kiera..." I muttered.

I clicked on the app, reading her text.

Kiera: Hey, are you okay? You weren't at school today.

Me: My sister got sick, sorry I didn't tell you.

Kiera: Alright, just let me know next time.

Kiera: Hey, is she okay now?

Me: She's sleeping.

Kiera: Could you meet me at the park by your house then? It's important.

Me: Okay.

I put the phone away. Kiera wanted to meet me, and she said it was important...

The only other time she said something was important was that day...

Could it be-?!

"Kyle!" I heard Kiera wave. Looking over, I saw the face of a girl I never wanted to see again.

She was the most popular girl in our school, with straight, midnight black hair and soft baby blue eyes. Incredibly beautiful.

"Kiera..." I slowly greeted, standing up from the bench.

"That was fast." She commented.

"Well, my house is right there." I replied.

"Right." She nodded.

"So, what is it?" I asked her.

She sweetly smiled at me, before it turned devious ass she snapped her fingers. From the trees of the park came out three delinquents.

It was easy to tell they were trouble.

I remembered them. I remembered them all to well. They were the ones who tormented me the most in highschool along with Kiera after that day.

Today is that day.

My knees started to shake as the memories hit me.

I was frozen. I couldn't move.

"Get him." She grinned.

One of them rushed at me, sending a fist straight into my face. I fell onto the ground, where they started to punch and kick me.

They repeatedly hit and kicked me over and over. I don't know how long it was. It felt like hours. I was turning black and blue. And all I could do was take it.

Stop it.

Stop it.

Stop it.

Stop it.

Stop it!

"Why...?" I creaked out.

"Stop." She commanded them.

They stepped back as she crouched down in front of my beaten body. "You want to know why?" She asked, a grin growing on her face.

"Because it's fun." She said those same words. "Seeing popular guys like you fall so low is so amazing. You think you're all the shit, but you aren't."

"I. Never. Loved. You." She stated. "I just had to teach you your place."

You...never loved me...

Ha...

Haha...

Of course you didn't...

"Fuck you, you bitch." I coughed out, spitting on her face.

"Yuck!" She cried out, wiping it off her face. "Alright, you're getting it now. Get the pipe."

One of the delinquents pulled out a metal pipe, readying it as a weapon to bash my face in.

"Looks like you'll need some extra tutoring." She spat out.

They stopped as they saw me start to stand up, knees no longer shaking from fear. I glared at them, getting into a fighting stance.

"Oh, you're as stubborn as ever. Get him, boys." Kiera said, waving me off.

The first delinquent ran at me, swinging the metal pipe over his head to hit me with it. I caught his wrist, stopping his swing.

His eyes widened as my fist careened into his face. He flew backwards, the pipe flying through the air. Extending my hand upwards, I caught the pipe and examined it.

"You little shit!" The second delinquent yelled.

He ran at me, only to get a face full of pipe to the face. Blood exploded out of his nose as he fell onto the ground.

"Really, what did you expect." I sighed.

The third one backed up, scared. He turned to run away, but I chuckled the metal pipe at him, hitting him in the back of the head.

Kiera looked at the sight shocked, before jerking her head towards me.

"I-I'm sorry!" She yelled. "I'm so sorry! I shouldn't have done that! I'm sorry!"

I approached her, before bringing her into a hug.

"Kyle?" She gasped in surprise.

"Hey, Kiera." I whispered into her ear. "How do you like the taste of betrayal?"

"Wha-" She started to say, before a fist cut her off, slamming into her face and sending her flying backwards.

She slammed onto the ground, looking at me scared.

"You know, I did love you." I stated. "But now, well..."

I kicked her across the face.

"You could say we share the same sentiment." I stated.

She looked at me with a bloody face full of fear.

"Goodnight."

I slammed my foot into her face, knocking her out.

I stood above the three knocked out delinquents and my former girlfriend. I felt myself release a breath of relief. That felt...liberating.

"Ken!" The voice yelled.

Cracks formed across the ground and the sky. The world around me started to break and shatter as it turned into a dark void.

"Ken! Are you alright?!" I heard Loki shout in my head.

"I'm fine now." I stated. "What's going on?"

"Some sort of curse-type illusion was placed on you to force you to live your worst nightmare." Loki stated. "I tried to break through it, but I couldn't. What happened?"

"Just took care of some...unfinished business." I stated.

"Oh, that's good!" Loki sighed, relieved. "I was afraid I'd lose my entertainment."

That's all I am to you? Wow.

"You better wake up now. Who knows what's going on." Loki commented.

"Yeah." I nodded.

I looked around at my mindscape one last time with a smile before closing my eyes, waking up from the nightmare.
