While Erica was inside the others tried to see if they were also Chosen, but the door didn't open for them when they stood on the circle.

So we sat out here, waiting.

Honestly, if I could be a Chosen that would be pretty nice. Being taught by a powerful figure such as Merlin would surely help with the fight against the Demon King.

I doubt it however. Due to the fact that being a Chosen is determined during birth or something. Like many things from Heaven's Hell, it was vague.

Who knows?

It wasn't long until Erica came back out of the tower completely unharmed. I didn't expect anything to happen, but for some reason I was still worried.

"What happened?" Irene asked.

"I met someone who's going to train me!" Erica exclaimed.

"A trainer? So that theory is true..." Iris muttered.

"Have you guys tried to see if you are Chosen?" Erica asked.

"We have." Lily nodded.

"Did Ken?" Erica pushed further.

"He didn't." Irene replied. "Ken, go ahead."

"Alright." I sighed. I waited in case only one Chosen could be inside at a time. But I really don't think it's going to happen since I was transmigrated here a year ago and not a birth...

"Seriously, I don't think I'm going to be one." I stated, standing onto the circle.

Nothing happened.

"See?" I sighed in disappointment, turning towards them. This is a let down...

The sound of the wooden gate opening entered my ears as the others stared at me in surprise. Turning around in a silent shock I saw that the door was now open.

"No way.." I gasped.

I'm a Chosen.

Wait, is that why Erica and I could read the stone tablet and Iris couldn't?

I took a deep breath. It's time to meet Merlin in person.

"I'll see you in a little bit." I waved to them, walking into the tower.

The gate closed behind me, leaving me alone.

"I'm here too you know." Loki commented.

Completely alone...

"Oi! Listen to me!" Grunted Loki.

I started to ascend the dim staircase, passing by the torches. It was dark and creepy, and the stairs were very long. I was climbing for a good minute or two.

Once I finally got to the top I was met with a wooden trapdoor in the ceiling. Lightly pushing upwards on it, it easily opened for access.

I climbed through, standing up and dusting myself off. Now I was in a single room. Turning around I was met with the sight of a white haired woman with purple eyes, short white hair, and a white robe embroidered with purple designs.

"Hello." She smiled. "I'm Merlin Ambrosius."

"You're a girl?!" Exclaimed Loki.

"Hello." I nodded.

"Aww, you don't seem surprised." Pouted Merlin.

Well, I already knew about this strange twist beforehand...

Why Heaven's Hell genderbent Merlin into a girl, who knows?

"But, I guess that's to be expected, y'know?" She continued.

My heart froze in shock.

"What...do you mean by that?" I asked, narrowing my eyes at her.

"Oh, nothing much." She replied. "Except that you're secretly from another world."

"Oh shit..." Loki gasped.

My fists tightened.

"How do you know that?" I questioned with a cold tone.

"Don't send a nasty glare towards me." Merlin smirked. "I'll tell you how."

"Let's start off with the fact that I have a neat little trick called Clairvoyance." She stated. "Let's me see the past, present, and possible futures."

Fuck...that's overpowered...

"And you see, all of your possible futures are clouded in mystery. I can't see them." Merlin explained. "And that's something completely new."

"I've never been able to not gaze into the future of a person. Yet, your's are all blurry and muddled. I became very curious." She continued.

"So if I can't see the future, why not the past? I looked into the past, and noticed something very interesting." She added.

"About a year ago, on January 15th, his sixteenth birthday, Ken Kage woke up and acted differently than he did for the last fifteen years." She stated.

"It wasn't some growth spurt. Almost as if he was a completely different person. And that soul, that soul that used to be a pure black then became a soul of equal black and red mixed together." She continued.

"You're Ken Kage, yet not. You're a fusion between the souls of Ken Kage and someone else. But then who?" She wondered.

"I realized something important about my Clairvoyance. I can only see the past, present, and possible futures of a certain dimension. Which means that if I can't see your future, you must be from another dimension." She explained.

"Of course, it's just a Hypothesis, and that may not even be why I can't see your future. But I hit the nail right on the head, didn't I?" She continued.

"Your reaction told me everything I need to know." She grinned. "How interesting."

"And I noticed something else. From the way you acted...it's almost as if you knew the future. Yet there were still times you were surprised at events. How could that be?" She asked herself.

"It couldn't be Clairvoyance. So you must have gotten some insight about the future before you appeared here somehow." She stated.

"What do you want from me?" I growled.

"Don't be so hasty." She smiled. "I'm lucky that you were a Chosen. At least, the red part of your soul. It allows me to talk to you like this."

"I'm merely curious." She stated. "So I have a question. You do know about the threat, yes?"

"If you're talking about the Demon King, then yes." I replied.

"I see." She smirked. "That certainly explains things. How interesting. Then this big sister has just one request."

"What is it?" I asked her, raising my eyebrow.

"Please, stop him." She stated, suddenly becoming serious. "It's almost time to bring an end to everything. It's time for vengeance."

"Well, that was the plan anyway." I replied.

"Thank you." She lightly smiled. "Now that we've finished that, I better explain some things to you."

She explained to me the multiverse and what she had talked to Erica about before I came in.

To think there's a whole multiverse, and that I was from one of those other dimensions. How did it happen?

"Before you leave, this big sister has a gift for you." Smirked Merlin.

She walked towards me, extending a glowing finger towards my forehead. I've seen this before...

She lightly tapped my forehead, and suddenly a strange sense of euphoria ran through my veins. Slowly the feeling disappeared, but I felt stronger than before.

"Check your adventurer card." She smiled at me.

I fished my adventurer card out, checking it. And there on the card, I had reached Tier 8.

Tier 8 - Amplification

What is this?

Merlin giggled at my expression. "Get a good night's rest. We'll start training tomorrow."

I suddenly felt very tired and sluggish. Is this the side effects of what she just did...?

I started to leave, and on my way out I heard her whisper to herself.

"What an interesting individual...I look forward to training him..."

As I left, a strange sense of foreboding hung over my head.
