(Yui POV)
I sighed as I slept in my sleeping bag next to Bianca. Today I lost the game of Rock Paper Scissors again, and tonight Erica got to sleep next to Ken.
It's so unfair!
She's already next to him all day since they both go into that tower to be trained! I don't get to see Ken at all until the day's over!
It's been like this the past few days! I've been stuck training my Arcana by healing the others when they're done with training!
I thought we could have some fun! And I even brought my swimsuit to show off my curves, but he won't even be able to see it...
I glanced over and saw Bianca soundly sleeping. How she can fall asleep so fast is a mystery.
"I need a breath of fresh air..." I muttered.
I slipped out of my sleeping bag, before quietly leaving the tent. Don't want to wake up sleeping beauty...
I took a deep breath of the cool air, letting it flow through my lungs. The night can be so nice and calm...
I felt as my pink fairy wings released themselves from my back. It felt good to let them out again, almost like stretching.
They hurt so much to look at though, and not in the good way. It only reminded me of her...
I flapped my wings, letting me fly into the air. I rushed through the sky, letting the cool air tickle my skin, brushing past with it's soft touches.
I love the feeling of flying. It's calming.
I wonder if I could share this experience with Ken one day. I'd fly him around at high speeds, he'd get angry and chop me on the head...
Ehehe, good times~....
I floated in the air, looking down at the island under me. The dark waves clashed against the sandy beach with the night sky hanging overhead.
Only a small source of light wavered through the forest, approaching the tower and where we had set up camp.
...wait a minute.
I quickly angled myself downwards, flying back to the island. Who was that? The only person who should be out right now wouldn't have a light!
I quietly landed back down in-between the edge of the forest and the tents. A couple people appeared from the edge of the forest, one holding a lamp.
"Looks like we've found them." The one holding the lamp said.
"Uh, Boss? One of them is up." Another one stated.
"Damn it. This was supposed to be scouting, possibly assassination." He muttered. "What are you doing up so late in the night, girlie?"
"Who are you?" I hissed in annoyance.
"Just a follower." He stated.
Great, another Child Of Lupercio.
Look, there's only enough room in this world for one true cult. And it's not yours.
He unsheathed a sword from his belt, pointing it towards me. "This will be easy. If I remember right, you're the healer."
"Get her." He nodded to one of his minions. "And don't be scared girlie. This will be quick."
I rolled my eyes.
The guy stepped forward, unsheathing his own sword, before rushing at me with the intent to impale me through the heart.
However I just smirked. He looked at me with a confused look. How unfortunate this would be the last thing he saw.
Just kidding~
It's not unfortunate at all.
A spike made out of darkness suddenly sprouted of the ground, impaling the man mid-air. He gasped, before collapsing onto on the spike.
The spike melted back down into the ground, leaving the man a dying and bleeding mess on the floor.
"What the hell?!" Exclaimed the Boss.
A knife flew out of the trees, slamming into the skull of one of enemies. He dropped down onto the floor, dead.
Out from the trees jumped down someone, landing in front of me.
"Lily." I smiled. "Just in time."
"I'm so glad we inducted Sophia into the Cult." Lily muttered. "Finally I can actually manipulate my element..."
She glanced back towards me. "You should be more careful Yui." She sighed. "What if I wasn't there?"
"I knew you'd be there." I shrugged. "After all, you were still on your shift as guard."
"I could have fallen asleep..." Lily sweatdropped. "Anyways, step back."
"Alright. But keep one alive." I stated. "Maybe I can get something out of him~?"
Lily nodded, before turning back to the shocked Children Of Lupercio. They quickly shook out of their shock, two of them rushing Lily.
In a second Lily had appeared in front of one of them, her knife blurring through the air. She jumped away from him, before grabbing the wrist of the second man and pulling him down to a knee right in his balls.
He kneeled over, giving Lily the opportunity to stab him in the neck, letting him choke on his own blood. The other man fell down to the ground, bleeding from multiple deep wounds.
"S-shit!" The man gasped, now all alone.
So much for your scouting party. I'll enjoy making you break~
Before he could run off Lily stabbed him in the leg with her knife, causing him to collapse down. She dragged him over towards me.
I glanced over to the tents. It didn't seem as if anyone had woken up. Not sure how they slept through that...
"Let's take him into the forest. We wouldn't want to wake the others." I stated.
Lily nodded, dragging the crying man by his foot into the woods as I followed. We walked further and further into the forest until we were a good enough distance that I could make this man scream as much as I wanted without waking the others up.
Lily and I attempted to prop him against a tree. He struggled against us before Lily stabbed one of his hands into the tree with her knife.
He screamed out in agony, weakly clutching at the knife with his other hand. The pain made him too weak, and he couldn't do anything.
He was now stuck.
I crouched down to his eye level, watching as his wet tears ran across his red face. So scared for his life. So exciting.
"I wonder how many fingers I'll have to cut off before I make this pig squeal?" I wondered, a grin growing on my face.
"How are you going to cut off his fingers? Your Arcana isn't anything sharp. It's a staff." Lily asked.
"I always have a knife on handy." I stated, slipping the knife from under my sleeve.
"Of course you do." Lily sweatdropped. "Wait, did you sleep with that?"
"Of course. This knife is precious. It's the knife I used to make my first kill to protect Ken." I smiled. "A blade that moves by my God's will."
"So, how about we take off one of those fingers. You'll still have nine more. You'll be fine." I grinned.
I sliced off his pinky with one clean slash, blood spraying onto my face from his now four-fingered hand.
He cried out in painful agony as he felt the full pain of the loss of a finger. Seeing his shriveling form crying in pain makes me so happy.
This is what you get for even thinking of trying to hurt Ken.
"So, we can do this the easy, boring way...or the fun, hard way." I stated. "And honestly, I want you to choose the hard way."
"Here's your options; tell me what you 'Children Of Lupercio' are doing here, or you keep losing fingers." I revealed.
He muttered something in a blubbering mess.
"Sorry, what was that~?" I asked as I cut off another finger.
He shook in pain, screaming for help. No one would be able to help him. Lily looked around, keeping guard in case reinforcements came.
"You're going to have to speak up louder. Now answer the question. What. Are. You. Doing. Here." I stated.
All I got was a sobbing mess. As beautiful as it was, it wasn't what I was looking for.
I cut off a third finger.
He wailed in agony.
"Talk." I growled.
I stood up, summoning my Arcana Asclepius into my hand. It took the form of a staff with two snakes spiraling and crossing each other up the staff.
I pointed the end of the staff towards his hand. A glowing light emitted from the staff, before his hand glowed and his fingers grew back.
"M-my fingers..." He gasped as he realized he no longer felt the pain. Adrenaline must have kept him from feeling the knife that was still pinning his other hand to the tree.
"Now tell me what you're doing here, or we'll just do this again." I said. "I wouldn't mind~"
"I'll talk! I'll talk!" He desperately screamed.
"Good." I replied. "Go on."
"We-we're here because we were informed that this is the Island of Avalon, and are here to find the trainer..." He stuttered.
"Are there any others?" I asked, sending a glare towards him for good intimidation.
"W-we're just the scouts..." He muttered.
"Hmmm. Thank you~!" I smiled.
I sent a kick towards his abdomen, causing him to scream in pain. I'm certain I heard a rib or two crack.
I continued to kick him over and over again, aiming for the head, the chest, and the nuts. After a while he was broken, bloody, and a feast for the eyes.
I sent one last kick, breaking the man's neck with the force. That's for everything you tried to do, and for calling me girlie.
I'm a woman.
"You hit hard for such a little girl..." Lily muttered.
"Like you can talk." I scoffed, looking towards her chest.
"Excuse me?!"
