I stuffed the supplies into my bag. I packed light, with only a couple of essentials such as water, snacks, rope, and a couple more.

Erica and I were about to head out from camp to this cave that Merlin told us about. If everything stays the same as in the anime, Avalon should be in there after we get through the traps.

However, things never stay the same. I have no idea what to even expect going in.

I stepped out of the tent, slinging my bag over my shoulder. Erica stood with the others, however she was the only one with a bag.

"Do you two have to go alone?" Pouted Iris.

"It's a trapped dungeon." I replied. "It's for the best if we go light. It'd be tough to fit eight people in a dungeon. Besides, we need people to stay here in case The Children Of Lupercio come after Merlin."

"Alright." Iris sighed.

"Be safe." Bianca ordered as the others nodded in agreement.

"We will." Erica smiled, before she looked over to me. "Let's go."

"Alright." I nodded. "See you soon." I waved to them as we left.

We trekked through the forest, heading north as Merlin had directed. We weren't exactly sure where the cave would be or what it would look like, but it shouldn't be too hard.

A cave would be pretty obvious, right?

Or maybe not.

An hour into our journey and we hit the base of a mountain. Probably where the cave was, but I couldn't spot it.

"You see it?" I asked Erica.

"No." She shook her head. "I just see trees. And more trees."

This cave is holding the Avalon, so maybe having it be in plain sight would be too obvious. With that thought in mind, I started to search even harder.

It had to be here. If it was on the other side of a freaking mountain, I would hope that Merlin would have told us.

"Hey Ken...what is this?" I heard Erica say.

I looked over to Erica, who was behind a tree. As she touched the tree the mountain suddenly started to rumble.

At the base of the mountain the stone started to open, half of it going up and the other half going down, creating a cave entrance out of what used to be a wall.

"...what?" We asked in confusion.

Ok, how the hell does that work? Who the hell installed a secret door, and how? Considering Merlin hasn't been able to get out of her tower for who knows how long, this modern technology is worrying...

"I don't like this." I stated. "Watch your every step Erica."

"Okay." She nodded.

Taking a deep breath, we entered the cave. As we took our first couple of steps in, the hidden door closed behind us.

This isn't ominous at all...

The cave led forwards in a straight line, the road ahead obscured by the darkness. Lighting a fire in my hand, it illuminated the area around us.

It allowed me to see how unnatural the cave looked. It looked like as if people had carved it out instead of it being naturally created.

I didn't like this.

We slowly walked through the corridor. It felt like a while until we finally were greeted with something different than the stone walls.

A wooden rope bridge was set across a chasm, torches lining it's railing. On the other side of the bridge was another stone corridor.

I placed my hand in front Erica, making her stop. I stepped forward, standing in front of the bridge. I picked up a stone pebble from the ground, before lightly tossing it onto the bridge.

The stone pebble hit one of the wooden planks, hitting it loose and causing both of them to fall down into the seemingly bottomless void of the chasm.

It's not stable at all. Even a single pebble could easily knock it loose. It's way too dangerous to cross.

And then an idea popped into my mind.

"Her Erica." I said, turning to her.

"What?" She asked, before suddenly she was picked off of the ground as I held her bridal style.

"E-eh?!" She gasped, her face turning red. "K-Ken?!"

"Hold on tight." I ordered.

She wrapped her arms around my neck tightly. Taking a couple steps backwards, I got myself into running position.

"W-wait, Ken, w-what are you-?!"

Erica was cut off as I suddenly dashed towards the bridge. Before reaching the bridge I jumped through the air. Fire blasted out of my feet, sending my flying over the bridge and landing onto the opposite side of the chasm.

I slammed into the ground, causing the ground to slightly shake. The bridge behind us shook, before quickly collapsing and falling into the void.

Either that bridge wasn't made to be crossed and was a trap, or it's decayed from how long it's been here.

But then how were the torches lit?

I shook the unsettling thought out of my mind. It's implications are worrying, but maybe I'm just overthinking this. It could just be some sort of magic.

I set down the flustered Erica who looked at me with stars in her eyes. "Amazing!" She gasped.

"We better keep going." I stated. "I want to get to the end as soon as possible. I don't like this,"

We continued to walk forwards, however I noticed that the ground had changed from it's rocky floor to a tiled floor.

The perfect way for a cliche stone tile trap.

"There has to be a trap here." I stated. "Be alert."

"Exactly what I was thinking." Erica nodded. "I've played enough Fairy Knights to know that tiled floors in dangerous areas are suspicious."

And then I immediately felt my foot sink. Quickly backflipping, a spike sprang out from where I was just standing, breaking the tile.

Landing back onto my feet, I felt as one of my feet sunk once more. I quickly rolled forwards as a bunch of arrows shot out from hidden holes in the walls.

"Uh...are you okay?" Erica asked.

"I'm fine." I replied, standing up and dusting myself off.

"You might want to move." Loki suddenly said.

Sidestepping to the right, a blade swung down from the ceiling, swinging past with the intent of slicing me in half and going back up into the ceiling.

Thanks for the heads up.

"This isn't good." Erica muttered. "We're right in the trap zone. We're only halfway through. Can you run on the walls or do the flying trick or something?"

"The ceiling is too short to do that." I replied. "And I'm not a ninja or a spider, so I can't do wall-running either."

"If only this was Fairy Knights..." Erica sighed. "Wait, that gives me an idea."

Erica summoned Excalibur, readying her blade. Water started to gather around her blade, but a lot more than before. The water blade surrounding Excalibur started to reach the ceiling

Erica swung her sword, sending a humongous wave of water that filled the whole corridor in front of us. It seeped into the cracks of the floor, short-circuiting the traps and setting them off.

This was the fruit of Erica's training with Merlin. And to think she only had ten mana veins. This is part of why she was the mc.

"Oh, that was a secret in Fairy Knights 2, didn't they?" I realized. "Using an attack move for a strategic maneuver."

"Yeah." Erica let out a small smile. "Now let's-"

Erica was cut off as a circular hole opened in the ceiling. From it dropped a huge stone sphere which was almost as large as the corridor.

"Oh shi-" I cursed.

"RUN!" Erica shouted.

We quickly turned around and dashed backwards as the stone rolled after us. We stepped on a couple of traps we hadn't set off before, dodging them while still rushing forwards to avoid being squashed.

We ran towards the chasm at the beginning of the trapped corridor as arrows flew past us and spikes sprouted form the ground. The stone sphere barreled through, easily destroying the stone spikes.

As we got closer to the chasm, I realized I wouldn't have the time to do the same maneuver I pulled over.

My mind raced as we ran towards the edge, trying to find a way out of this that didn't involve falling to certain death.

"Erica! Use your sword to stick to the wall!" I yelled.

Despite my terrible explanation, a spark of understanding flickered through Erica's mind.

I summoned Loki as I reached the chasm, morphing him into a sword. Jumping into the chasm, I quickly turned around and shoved Loki into the stone on the side of the chasm.

Erica did the same thing across the hole where the trapped corridor was. The stone sphere rolled past, falling down into the deep, dark, abyss.

Thank god Arcana's are strong enough to cut through stone.

"You alright?" I called to her.

"I'm fine!" She replied.

We jumped back down into the trapped corridor, looking at the absolute ruin that it had become from all of the traps.

However, at the end stood a door that led to the next area, whatever that said area was.

Erica and I nodded at each other as we walked towards the door, ready to face the next challenge.

AN: I'm alive! Sorry for the wait! I'll be honest and say that I had a sudden drop in motivation. I was finally able to regain some of that and get a chapter out, and now we're finally getting to the interesting part of Arc 6. And I should be able to get more chapters out sooner. I won't promise one chapter per day, because I know that would be a lie. However, I will release chapters as often as possible.
