Erica and I approached the double doors which stood at the end of the now ruined trap hallway. I morphed Loki into his staff form, using it to slowly open up the door.

You never know, it could have some sort of arm-slicer mechanism attached to it.

As I pushed it open, nothing happened. When I pushed open the other door, there was still an unnerving silence. And all I could see of the room beyond was darkness.

I picked up another pebble from the ground, throwing it into the dark room. It skittered across the ground, activating no traps.

This is really suspicious. Are there seriously no traps in this room?

"Ken." Erica suddenly stated. "I feel something. A pull...as if something that I've been missing this whole time is pulling me inside."

...could Avalon be calling out to her somehow?

How would that even work? Does Avalon also have a spirit? Who would that spirit even be?

"Let's go in." Erica decided.

"Alright." I sighed.

We walked through the doors, entering the dark room. Immediately the doors behind us slammed shut and multiple torches were suddenly brought to life as small fires raged upon them, lighting up the room.

I knew this was a mistake...

We were in a large, cylindrical styled room. Pillars across the room held up the stone roof, and in the middle of the room was a stone statue of a large, armored knight, about three stories high. It was the only decoration in this bland place. The only other notable thing was the door across from us on the other side of the room.

The knight's eyes suddenly opened, glowing a bright orange. It started to move from it's original position, drawing its huge sword. Something that a statue shouldn't be able to do.

"Oh shit." I muttered.

"Move!" Erica exclaimed.

We rolled in opposite directions out of the way as the statue slammed its stone sword down where we once were. It turned towards me, staring at me with it's glowing, lifeless eyes.

Erica ran away as the statue swung it's sword once more. It slammed into the ground, getting stuck inside. Erica took the chance to run up the sword and charge a holy strike.

She jumped in the air, sending a holy strike straight towards the statue's face. However it harmlessly dissipated against his face.

Erica landed on the statue's shoulder. Summoning water around her blade, she stabbed it into his ear and filled it with high-pressure water.

Unfortunately that didn't to seem to do any damage either. The statue just stared at her as it tugged at its sword once more, this time the sword coming free from the broken ground.

The statue pulled it's sword out of the ground with one of his hands. With it's other it reached up, trying to grasp Erica. She jumped onto his head, trying to avoid the hand.

Damn it!

I rushed towards the statue, trying to think of what I could possibly do to injure this thing. I doubt my fire will do anything to this thing, and my other offensive skill copies fighting styles, which isn't helpful either.

Even the Amplification which I've been practicing with won't be useful if I don't have an offensive skill that can work.

If I can't damage it, then the priority is to get Erica to safety. I blasted fire under my feet, rocketing me through the air.

I flew towards Erica, grabbing her and taking her into my arms. I jumped off of the statue as it grasped at it's head.

We landed onto the ground as the statue locked it's eyes on us once more. It raised it's foot, taking a heavy step forward which seemed to shake the whole room.

"This wasn't a good idea." Erica sweatdropped.

"You think?!" I retorted.

We ran away as the giant statue lumbered over us. While we were quicker, it could cover much more ground with every single one of it's slow steps.

It got it's sword ready to swing once more, and we right in its path. I quickly grabbed Erica and dove behind a pillar for as much cover as we could get.

Soon after a humongous crash echoed as the sword cut through the pillar, making it crumble and chunks of it to fall.

"Move!" I yelled as we ran out of the way as the pillar collapsed to the ground, the room shaking as the debris hit the floor.

The statue stood over the debris, setting itself back on it's goal to kill us. It was huge, and our attacks had no effect. I didn't like our odds.

The only damage it's taken is on it's sword, which is slightly chipped from slamming through that pillar. And then I suddenly had an idea.

"Erica!" I yelled. "We need to lead the statue to take out the pillars. Make sure the last pillar is the one near the exit, and we'll run through when he hits the last one!"

"What?! That's crazy!" Erica gasped. "This whole place will collapse!"

"That's the point!" I revealed. "We can't take that thing out by ourselves! But we can bury it under rubble!"

"Then what if the door is locked?!" Erica exclaimed.

"I'll bust it down!" I replied.

I glanced back. The statue was nearing on us.

"This is the only chance we got!" I said, trying to persuade her.

Erica struggled for a moment, carefully thinking about what I had said before sighing. "Fine! But if we die, I'm haunting you!"

"I'd be dead too!" I retorted.

We ran around a pillar, the statue slamming into it. It broke the pillar, making the room rumble even more. Only two more pillars left.

We ran towards the one farther from the exit, leading the statue towards it. As we ran around it, the statue hit it as well when it tried to attack us, sending another one to the ground.

This statue seems to not be intelligent, and only programmed to kill intruders at all costs. That's lucky, this plan wouldn't have worked otherwise.

Looking up at the ceiling, it started to crack as pieces fell and hit the ground. It wasn't going to last much longer.

We ran towards the last pillar. My heart was pounding. This could be our end. After all, it's not even close to being the best plan.

Passing the pillar, the crash was all I needed to hear to know the pillar was destroyed. The whole room started to rumble and shake as if an earthquake had started, and larger pieces of the ceiling crashed to the ground.

"Go! Go! Go!" I yelled.

We dashed towards the doors. Taking a glance back, I saw the statue attempt to follow us before a large piece of the ceiling hit it's shoulder, stunning it.

It was working! And it's going to work too well if we don't get through those doors!

Closer, closer, closer. Every second we got nearer to those doors, yet I knew at any moment everything could go down. We need to go faster!

I grabbed Erica, igniting fire under my feet to send me flying towards the doors through the air. We crashed through the doors into the next room as the room behind collapsed.

Sitting up, we watched as the room behind us was buried under it's own ceiling, taking the large statue with it. There was no way back now.

"That...was certainly something." Erica commented. "So, how are we going to get out of here, genius?"

"Look, it was the best I could come up with." I defended myself.

Erica sighed, standing up. "Anyways, thanks Ken. Even if we don't make it out of here, know I appreciate it."

"Don't talk like that." I replied, standing up as well. "I'm not dying yet."

We looked around the room in front of us. We were now standing on grass instead of stone like before. There was a beautiful lake in front of us, with a single stone island in its middle.

And in that stone, was the fabled Avalon.

I already knew it was going to be this way, but still...Isn't that Excalibur's shtick?

"We're here!" Gasped Erica.

"Yeah, look around next time before you criticize me." I smirked.

Erica jabbed me in the stomach. "Alright, smart-ass."

Before we could continue our light bantering something started to happen to the lake. Part of the water started to rise, forming into the shape of a giant lady made completely from water.

"So, I'm guessing you two are after my precious Avalon." She spoke. "You made quite the mess too. How annoying."

We both looked at the water woman in shock.

"Lady in the Lake?!" We exclaimed.

She sighed. "Look, I'm impressed you made it past the trials. But those trials were for one person to pass and reclaim what was rightfully his, and he isn't either of you."

"Look lady, Merlin told us to come here and get Avalon so that's what we are going to do." I stated, slightly ticked off.

"Merlin?" She questioned. "Why the hell would she guide you two here? Look, I don't take kindly to liars, so leave before I make you."

Well, isn't not exactly like we can leave...

Erica suddenly extended her arm, Excalibur materializing in her hand. The Lady of the Lake gasped as she saw the golden sword appear in Erica's hand.

Excalibur started to glow as a regal voice come from it. "Vivian?"

"Arthur? Is that really you? What happened to you?" She gasped.

"I should probably inform you that I'm not your Arthur. I'm the Arthur from this world." He stated.

"Oh...I see..." She deflated. "However, now it makes since on why she guided you here. Excalibur is quite the picky weapon, so if that girl is able to hold it, then she must be very similar to you."

"I would say we share some similar qualities." Arthur replied.

"Well, I'm sorry you two. I was harsh. Well, I have been here for a long time after all..." She sighed.

"What happened here?" I questioned. "To you. to Merlin. And to Arthur."

"That's not my place to tell." She stated, staring off into the distance. "It's Merlin's. Try to be patient with her, she's gone through a lot. Especially since she's really the only one trapped."

"What do you mean by that?" I questioned.

"I'm only a remnant of Vivian, Lady of the Lake. A lost memory, bound to protect Avalon until it is reclaimed. Vivian has already died, yet a piece of her...my memory remains." She explained.

"That's confusing." Erica muttered. "And sad."

"It's fine." She lightly smiled. "And as for your little quest, you might be the one to put this lost spirit into rest. Avalon, like Excalibur, is very picky."

"Go ahead. Try." She smiled.

"O-okay..." Erica lightly replied.

She approached the lake, but instead of sinking into it her foot stood upon the water. Placing her other foot on, she was now standing on the water.

"Woah..." She gasped as she continued to walk over the water.

The Lady of the Lake watched as she walked towards the stone which held Avalon. Reaching the island, she stepped onto it and stood above the object we've been chasing this whole time.

She gripped its edges, and with one single pull, successfully removed dirt from the rock. She held the golden sheathe above her head in awe.

The Lady of the Lake let out a small smile at the sight.

Erica ran back over the water to me, holding the sheathe in her hands. "This is amazing!" She gasped. "I feel so...light!"

"That is indeed a property of Avalon." The Lady of the Lake stated.

And then in a flash Avalon disappeared from her hands. "What the hell?!" We gasped.

Erica closed her eyes as she focused on something, before Avalon reappeared back into her hands.

"It fused with Excalibur..." She gasped.

"...What does that mean?" I questioned.

"It's part of my Arcana now! It's separate from Arthur and Excalibur, but now it's connected to my soul. I can make it disappear and reappear just like Excalibur!" Erica exclaimed.

"That's pretty handy." I stated. "So do you need to hold it or something?"

"I don't think so. It gives a passive boost to whoever has it, whether it's inside of me or not." Erica stated.

"Well, I never expected that." Smiled The Lady of the Lake. "You really do remind me of my Arthur. You two had the same smile."

"Thank you." She stated. "It seems I'll finally be able to move on. If you want to get out of here, there's an exit through the lake."

"Thank you Vivian. Thank you." Erica smiled.

"It's my pleasure." She smiled back. "Do me proud, Erica..."

The Lady of the Lake melted back into the water, disappearing for good. It was kind of sad, actually. Erica wiped away a couple tears from the edges of her eyes.

And then suddenly she gripped her head in pain.

"Erica?! What's going on?! Erica?!" I worriedly exclaimed as she clutched at her head and shut her eyes tight.

I held her as this happened. It lasted a couple second before Erica raised her head towards me, a look of fear displayed on her face.

"I had a vision. The others are in trouble." Erica gasped.
