The last thing I would do for this day was to have an hour talk with the instructor I flipped over before our class started.
Imagine. Just imagine.
"... And the first person to flip my whole body is just a mere teenage student of mine! How strong can you get, Amelia?"
Not teenage, sir, young adult. Well, I wanna tell him that if it wasn't for the mission.
"I don't know, sir. The next class is coming," I answered, getting jittery over the time. Even though this was just an act, school time is really terrifying—especially when you don't know if you could catch the good mood of an instructor when you're late.
He laughed and tapped my shoulder that made my eyebrow to shot up.
"You are a good joker, kid."
After his class, or rather, our one-hour talk, he made us get into our classrooms to wait for our next instructor.
Some of us in the class took a quick shower in the locker rooms while the rest were already in the room. I didn't get too much sweat since Mr. Gineva really stopped me from doing some activities just so he could talk to me like his co-teacher.
"Hi! You're a newbie, right? I'm Jasper Thellimina Wox, just call me Jasper," a girl with short hair and a gold clip clasped on it approached me. She held out her hand for a shake, so I accepted it.
"Amelia Fe Asucena," I introduced.
My plan is to be a ball of sunshine in this class. But my true colors shows up, making me look more like a mysterious book than a noisy radio.
"You were so amazing back there! Do you know that once everyone knows about you, different gangs from different districts will have you recruited? Girl, you're so awesome!" She blabbered more about gangs and some random stuffs, but my attention was stucked with her talking about gang recruitments.
"What else do you know about the gangs?" I asked her, cutting her words.
She then smiled. "Oh, the Manus Gang! The nearby gang that are strongest among the rest! I already saw them fight in an underground battle before, and dude, they're so awesome! Maybe I should invite you some other time! Tell me when you will be free," she offered.
I was about speak but our next instructor was coming inside of our classroom, so they scurried back to their seats. And Jasper is a mile away from my seat, so I couldn't get a whisper from her.
Now, I'm intrigued.
What could a gang like The Manus gonna show to someone like me? Their show? Their personalities? Or the vital informations that they're hiding from us? Those, series questions of mine, will be answered if I go see one of their fights.
I will go and watch this gang's activities.
After the second class, I sent a message to Thadd to meet me on a rooftop of our building before leaving our room. Since it's currently breaktime.
Ami Meet me at the rooftop. ASAP.
Thadd Dude, I want to follow this suspicious girl in our class.
Thadd I think she's Arem.
Ami Just go to the rooftop, Thaddeus.
I was about to get an exit from our room when a blonde girl and her little gang blocked my way. I sensed this situation will not make me go easy today.
"New girl, right?" she asked as she crossed her arms.
"Yes, I am. What do you want?"
"My name is Priella, bow down to me as your queen or I will challenge you for a duel." She made her words sounded so easy, but that trick will never work on me. I had experienced a lot of shits like this from Sergev and Vidalia when we were still kids.
"I prefer not to bow down or pick up a fight on anyone. I have important matters to catch on right now. Meet me at the back of the Senior High School building at five." After that, I excused myself and went to the rooftop of this building to meet Thadd.
It took me five minutes waiting in here until I saw Thadd huffing in the rooftop's doorway. Must be that he was running to get here.
"Give me a moment," he muttered as he heaved deep breaths before exhaling.
"Are you done? We're going on an underground battle." I saw him stiffened as he heard me saying those.
"No shit? Dude, I'm 17—"
"And I am a 25-year-old baby faced bitch, now, will you go with me or not?" I crossed my arms as my right brow shot up to make him see that I'm dead serious.
"Ami, we'll gonna die in there. We can't risk our lives on our first mission," he reprimanded, not convinced as to how badly I wanted to be there.
"You were suspecting a girl in your class, right? This will also be our chance to know who and where Arem is. Don't worry, I will call Benina or Kherst about this." I saw him being hesitant but a few seconds later, he sighed in defeat.
"Fine, but we will not join in any gang fights, it's not part of our mission."
I smirked and answered, "Sure, just better prepare a first aid kit." Then left the rooftop first, I don't want anyone suspecting me and Thadd meeting in one place. They will speculate that we're plotting something.
I groaned. Right, I challenged a small gang of bitches today. How will I get away with it? Act innocent? Play victim?
The heck.
It was almost the time for the second class when I entered our classroom. I heard the instructor of the next subject is very strict, guess I have to endure this.
As soon as I sat down, Jasper immediately saw me and excused herself from a group of people and walked towards me.
"Amelia Fe! I have an invitation for you," she said as she handed me a black scented paper.
My eyes squinted as I tried to privy with the paper but I barely see something, so I looked up to her and asked. "What's this, Jasper? A party?"
She chuckled and placed the paper on my desk. "An invitation to an elite underground battle this coming Saturday night! Bring a friend with you, Amelia! I'm sure the fight will pique your interest, especially that the legendary Avecci is coming back after her long rest. This is so exciting!"
I took the paper and still saw nothing on the paper. Is she joking?
"I see nothing in here, Jasper. Are you kidding me?" She shook her head and gave me a thumb flashlight.
"This could only be read through UV light, so that not everyone can suspect what was written in the paper. They're gang is clever, right? Not all gangs have the luxury to do that!"
I was about to speak again but then, the bell rang and interrupted our conversation. An indication that our next class is about to start.
I don't know if I'd be happy receiving such invitations from a gang to watch their fight, or be suspicious about it since Jasper said awhile ago that I might be most likely be recruited to a gang.
And I remembered Prielle and her little gang again. Right, a fight against them at the back of the building at five o'clock.
