I honestly didn't know about sciffs having side effects after becoming one. Was it why my father hated me after Shalom died? Because I didn't know how I became one? Have I also died before like Shalom did?

I grew up in the orphanage before my grandparents in my mother side took me to their custody. They were the ones what I thought my parents, not until Avidonna and Sheldon, my real parents came.

"Sheldon, Avidonna, what brings you here?" asked by my grandparents in the frontyard as I was about to take a step out of the doorway.

"Dad, I know you had Amalie Fidelle in here, please give her to us," sternly said by the man named Sheldon who was getting impatient. He was reluctantly looking at his wristwatch as if he was in deep hurry.

"You can't have her. You left that kid on the orphanage, thinking it was her fault why Shalom died," my grandfather told them. He then put his rake unto his side, indicating that he wouldn't want to give me to them.

"Papa, please I'm begging you. Give us back our child. Let us have Amalfi," Avidonna begged as she held my grandpa's hand. "Please, Papa I beg you."

So they're my parents? Why are they here?

"No," My grandpa dejected. "Amalfi will stay with us. You can never take her away from me and your mom, Avidonna. If only you had take care of your children well, they will never face such crisis like this! Zagreb and Vidalia went to one of your experiments, right? Might as well I will take them away from you! Don't blame Amalfi about Shalom's death, she was also one of your experiments!"

I woke up feeling rushed as I felt my body shaking.

"Sh-shit," I cussed, trying to calm my nerves down. It has been awhile since I had this kind of seizures after having a nightmare. Usually, my grandmother would come to my room and sing her lullaby that became my therapy when I am attacked with bad dreams. But that was before. My grandparents died without me knowing how, when, and where they were killed. The next thing I witnessed, was that their corpse were placed in the balcony of our house. If people will see them that time, they would think my grandparents were just sitting and sleeping.

But not me, I remembered the memories of them too well. Their bloods gushed down through their clothes and the floor under their seats was filled with crimson liquids that were dried up twelve hours earlier. Enough for me to know that they were killed.

I sat up from my bed, shaking as I tried to calm down my breathing. When I got enough energy needed to move, I walked out of our room slowly to go to the kitchen. I need water.

But as I was about to get a glass, I heard a door opened and closed. Making me look at whom got out of his or her room.

Only to find Keio in his silver pajamas and carrying his black pillow.

"Ami, I heard your whimpers," he said before taking a seat from our dining table.

I smiled and took some water from a jar and went to take a seat across from his.

"I was just dreaming bad things, Keio. Don't worry about me," I assured him before drinking my water.

"But Ami, I heard another thing."

I blinked at him and gave him my curious stare. "What do you mean, kid? How did you hear me?"

"Thadd placed a microphone under your pillow because he was baffled with the noise he heard in your room. Back from our headquarters."

Shocked with what he told me, my mind went blank as I felt my heart erratically beating fast.

"W-What did you hear, Keio?"

"I heard you calling your grandparents then some names. Zagreb, Vidalia, and Arem."

My eyelids opened wide as I heard what he told me. And before I could utter, he spoke more.

"I also heard some codes that I can't quite determine what they were about, Ami. Some sort of confidential that you forgot."

I chugged the remaining water left from my glass and gently placed the glass on the table. My hands reached Keio's and held it tight enough.

"Keio, promise me to tell me everything you heard when you hear me speakibg again while asleep. I wanted you to know what I didn't. Promise me, kid." He nodded and held my hands as well.

"I will, Ami, I will help you with your troubles within your self."

Morning came and I felt drowsy. I couldn't even remembered myself how much time I spent showering. Benina scolded me for not wearing my uniforms right because my buttons weren't in their right places.

"Woah, you looked like a panda in a tarsier size," Thadd remarked as he saw me in my state. Keio on the other hand was silent but I saw his eyes being worried.

"Nah, don't worry about her, Thadd," Benina appears from the kitchen, holding a spatula and a serving plate. "She lacked of sleep. Better keep your compliments to yourself if you don't want to see some flying plates from Ami." Thadd then went silent but I still saw him chortling when he looks at me.

006 was still asleep and we don't know if he wants to go to the academy and go his post as a bodyguard, but we chose to not get into his room. We would not risk seeing something weird again, especially when he was still in his 'Shello' personality, that one odd scientist.

After breakfast, we then waited for Hein's jeep to come and fetch the four of us.

"Ami, I will get in the academy as a teacher starting today," Benina talked while the two boys were playing hand games as we wait outside.

"Why? Was there something I didn't know?" I asked.

"I bumped into this one particular teacher from Keio's class. He was acting odd and based by some teachers I heard, he was the only one who was related to the Manus gang leader, Klinton Manus."

I creased my forehead and took a quick glance at Thadd and Keio before looking back at her.

"Benina, this will become suicide because you are about to tail this man. What if you'll get cornered?"

"Don't worry about me, Ami, I will just confirm something about him. Because he could be of use for this mission." I sighed at her words and clicked my tongue.

"Well, whatever now, Benina. But always be careful. 006 is unavailable right now and we will be quite far from you."

She tapped my shoulder and smiled at me. "What a mommy, don't worry that much girl, you'll get old fast." She then winked that made me winced in cringe.

"Hein is coming!" Keio shouted that made me and Benina looked at the jeep coming to where we stood.

And as it stopped, Hein opened the passenger seat door window and beamed at us.

"Hop in, mates!" he called us.

I chuckled and shook my head before getting inside the back of the jeep along with my teammates.
