I stared at the door of my booth, still thinking what I should do to keep myself safe. I heard the slow slashing of a metal on the floor around my booth, waiting for me to come out. And while that happened, I noticed that the whole room was in dead silence already, making me think of uncertainties about those people from the other batch. Are they safe?
"Come out, come out, wherever you are."
That voice.
I don't recognized it but it sent shivers down my spine. I couldn't even move an inch let myself and this bag safe. How should I get out?
"Wouldn't it be strange that I knew who you are, Fructuoso?"
My eyes widened, h-how...
"I knew it. You're also in this place. Why don't you come out and tell me how got in here?"
I slowly slumped my body down the floor. I know I am the only Fructuoso in this place, and thinking about it makes me feel strangely ill inside.
"Show me the weapon you got, Fructuoso, show me the daggers."
Upon hearing what that voice had said, I creased my brows. Daggers? All I have is a bag of guns, bullets, and bombs.
Does that mean, I have an unknown relative from one of these people from the other batch in here?
I immediately took out all the things inside my bag and tried to assemble them based on what I have watched from those movies. After doing it, I slowly opened the door of my booth to see if there's someone outside, but I saw none. I don't know what to do.
"Ah, still hiding behind someone's shadow, eh? What a coward, don't you think..."
"Shalom Kherst Fructuoso?"
I stopped from moving away from my booth when I heard his name. No, it can't be.
I remembered he died in front of me. In my fifteen-year-old self. H-how...
I looked up to the ceiling of this huge room to look for a screen but all I saw were white paints and four moving cameras in each corners.
I then diverted my gaze to my surroundings to see if there were people who would take my bag. But it had taken me ten minutes in approximations and no one had seen me yet.
"Shalom, you know... Your little sister is here. Don't you wanna see her? Or have you seen her but didn't realized it?"
I was about to shout to stop talking when I heard a loud grunt from my behind. And as I looked at my back, I saw him. That man from the other batch.
He was huffing and clenching his daggers in both hands.
"Shalom..." I whispered after a few seconds of silence between us.
But he didn't responded, instead, he started to lounge his attacks on me that made my step to frantically move back away from his daggers.
I saw how the bloods stucked on their tips, and it dawned to me.
He isn't the same Shalom I once had as my brother.
He is a monster.
As I dodged his attacks, I noticed a scar on his neck. Something that is like he was stitched before.
"Oh, I forgot. You are not Shalom anymore..." spoke by that voice again from the hidden speakers.
"You are 006. A failed test subject."
As soon as I heard what that voice had said, my tear fell like a bomb from my eye. He then stopped attacking me and looked at me as if he saw a stranger in front of him.
Zero-zero-six...
"Shalom wait! Where are we going?"
"Stop following me, Fidelle. This place isn't for young brats like you."
"I'm not a brat! I'm just curious!"
"You are a spoiled brat who did not know what was going on around you. Stop following me and go back."
"Shalom—"
A sudden pang hits my head that made me crouched to the floor in pain.
"A-ah.." I softly cried as I tried to massage my head to ease the pain but it didn't work. The pain was too critical and it had my scream for the first time after ten years.
I heard some shouting from the other people in this room but I was too succumbed with the ache, it made the throbbing nerves in my temple to shot its pang more.
And after a few moments, all my eyes see was pitch black.
When I open my eyes, my head was still throbbing in pain but I had it bearable enough to stand up from where I was laying, but someone called me from nowhere.
"If I were you, I would have slept more to recuperate." I looked around and noticed that I am in this infirmary. And that person who spoke was a doctor behind the curtain of my bed.
"Water," I mumbled that made him open the curtains between us.
We stared at each other for a moment anf he was the first one to recover before I did.
"And even though you're still dazed, I can still tell your stubbornness," he said as he gave me the glass of water. My hand then accepted it and drank the water he gave me.
His voice, it's familiar. Like it was from—My eyes shifted fast towards the doctor who's now writing in his charts, smiling like he already had a clue of who I am.
It then dawned to me.
"Even..." His smile goes wider and stopped writing to face me, with his arm resting to his desk.
"That name is still a puzzle as to why it was made by my parents." He leaned towards my direction, "Pray tell, guess my real name." he then cocks his head away from me and stood up to go to the shelves where medicines were placed.
My brows creased and rolled my eyes. "Why would I have to guess that name you have? The name Even suits you well," I retorted that made him let out a chuckle before facing me again. With one hand holding a bottle of medicine and the other to his hip.
Shaking the bottle he spoke, "My name is actually a mix of my real names. First two from the first name and the other two from the second name. Isn't that exciting?"
I snorted, "For a doctor, you're making me dizzy with that little guessing game of yours. It doesn't even require for me to get out of this place."
"Once you have known my real name, you will be assured to have a control of the whole system in this part of the organization I handled. Everything you see in here are made of a rare stone found from somewhere your bare eyes will not see."
"Even the water?" I asked.
Instead of answering my question, he just shrugged and threw the bottle towards me. Good thing I caught it or the bottle will broke. I shot my raging gaze on him but he just smiled before leaving the infirmary.
Now that he left, what should I with this bottle of meds? What organization did he mentioned awhile ago? And where is my bag?
I looked everywhere inside this room and found nothing.
Where did they took it?
