"Go to hell. Filthy scums."

Avy looked down at the two men shaking and wriggling around as if they were having a seizure because of the electric shock they got from the shattered lightning magic stone. It was satisfying, her towering figure was the last thing the two men saw before losing consciousness.

"A-are they dead?" the little kid named Tertius was shaking, holding the smaller boy's hand who was still crying because of what happened.

"What? Of course not. The book says that low-quality stones as small as those only have more or less fifty in power, if it's pertaining to volts, which is I am certain of, it's just enough to make grown-ups pass out." she answered.

The little boy, who of course, didn't understand a single thing she said, just ignored her and went to the other kid who was leaning on the wall groaning in pain.

"Leo, can you stand up? Let's go back to the house." he said as if it was just a common occurrence to be beaten up to death by men a lot older than them.

"But Tertius, what if these men come looking for us again? Mrs. Lewis will get in trouble." the little kid named Wilton tugged Tertius' dirty tattered clothes.

"I... I don't know." the boy stated, fear is clearly visible in his brown eyes.

"You did something, didn't you?" Avy commented, making the three look down in shame. The expression they had on their faces and their reaction just confirmed Avy's suspicions.

"All we did was take some silver coins to buy food." Leo said.

Avy clicked her tongue and picked up her bag. "Poverty does exist in different worlds."

"We can't do anything about it, we'll starve." Tertius told her before crouching down to take the dirty bread and fruits on the ground.

"Hey. Hey. That's dirty."

"I told you, Lady. We'll starve. We don't have anything to eat."

Avy's frown became deeper, she's never experienced getting hungry without anything to eat even in her past life. But she's not dumb but to understand what the kids are going through. She could turn a blind eye, but like what she always says, her conscience won't let her sleep.

"Fine. Get up, I'm buying you food."

"B-but how about these men–"

"I was planning to send them to jail in the first place. Now come." she said, they were hesitant at first but nevertheless, followed her out of the alley. And just as they step out in broad daylight, they saw a couple of knights wearing black and red uniforms walking from afar.

"It's the Ravens..." she heard Leo mutter beside her.

'They look like those Knights in the Estate.'

"Come with me." she told the children and the four of them walked up to the knights, Avy of course, still has the hood covering her face or she might get reported to her father'' that she's been sneaking out of the Mansion without any company.

"Excuse me."

"Can I help you?" the Knight in his early thirties said politely with a straight face but when his gaze landed on the children with bruises and scratches, his facial expression became a little harder.

"I was robbed."

"May I know the details, Miss? Are you hurt somewhere?"

"No. I actually chased the thieves and saw them beating these poor kids. I used magic when they weren't looking and knocked them out by luck." she lied, she couldn't possibly tell people that she chased them because of a broken Toy.

The Knight was suspicious of her and looked at the kids with questioning eyes. Tertius and Leo were quite sharp to catch up and nodded their heads.

"Then where are they now?" he asked.

Avy just pointed her forefinger at the alley where they came from, the Knight was curious about her because she didn't take off her hood the whole time, but since the kids looked like they trust her, he brushed off his doubts.

"We will take care of it right away. Thank you for informing us." the Knight told her before walking to his subordinates to tell them about it.

"That guy doesn't trust me, so he's taking proper measures." she stated as soon as the Knight left.

Leo hummed in response. "The knights of the Arkwright Family are nice and strong."

"As they should." Avy breathed out and turned to the kids. "Let's go somewhere to eat. Lead the way." she told them and their eyes shined in both excitement and delight before looking at each other, they nodded their heads as if they communicated through telepathy and headed in the opposite direction, enthusiastically chattering to themselves, the recent events completely forgotten.

They arrived in front of a big but humble-looking diner, in a busy street with many people around. It seems to be a famous place since a lot of customers could be seen through the glass wall.

"Hey. Are we even allowed to step inside?" Tertius asked Leo, hesitating if they should eat there or just find another place to go.

"B-but Mrs. Lewis brought us here one time, and the owner was kind... I think we can." Leo was also uncertain but it is obvious that he really wants to eat in that diner.

"That's when Mrs. Lewis still has money to spend."

"I also have a lot of money to spend." Avy interrupted their conversation, even though they were talking in low voices, she scooted close enough just to hear everything they were saying.

Tertius looked flustered and said, "I-It's not what I meant...!"

"W-we're dirty." he added

"And We're paying. Who cares?" she raised her brow and proceeded inside the diner. When she entered, she saw most of the people eating inside were wearing commoner clothes and those who looked like they came from well-off families were being escorted to the stairs.

She looked back at the kids who followed her and saw how nervous they eyed the aristocrats, hence she headed to the side even though she's clearly curious about what the upper floor looked like to not add any more pressure on them anymore.

They sat in the corner where fewer people were and they were quickly tended by a staff of the diner, a lady with a nice smile on her face.

"Here's your menu, Miss, and little kiddos." she said cheerfully and handed each of them a menu but the kids just stared at it awkwardly.

"We can't read." Leo said.

"Oh..." the lady looked at them apologetically.

"You don't have any allergies, do you?" Avy asked them which they replied by shaking their heads. She turned to the lady before speaking.

"Then get us anything that kids would like. I'll eat the same thing." she told her.

The enthusiasm went back to the lady's face "Understood, Miss. I'll be back with your food." she bowed politely and went back to prepare their orders.

"Thank you for treating us, sister." she heard the youngest say with genuine happiness in his voice.

Avy, like the antisocial person she was, was not used to accepting gratitude from other people, therefore she just cleared her throat and changed the subject so that she wouldn't have to respond to the thank you that was thrown at her.

"I don't know your names, why don't you introduce yourselves to me?"

"I'm Ethan! I'm seven years old." the youngest with curly red-orange hair and orange eyes said with a smile.

She looked at the other two, waiting for them to talk. "I'm Tertius. Ten." he has pale blonde hair and a beautiful pair of gray eyes.

"Nice to meet you, Sister. My name is Leo. I'm also ten." his hair was brown and his eyes were deep green making him look so innocent and nice.

'These children are pretty enough to be in the main story.' she thought.

"A ginger, a blondie, and a brunette. You're not related? Where are your parents?"

"We don't have parents. we were abandoned and Mrs. Lewis took us in when we were toddlers." Tertius answered with a straight face, he didn't seem bothered by it at all, neither the two.

"How about you sister? What's your name?" Leo asked

"And why are you hiding your face?" Ethan added.

"It should be fine." Avy said and took off her hood revealing her beautiful curly hair and her mesmerizing bloody red eyes.

"R-red eyes... you're an Arkwright...!?" Tertius exclaimed in a whispering tone, Leo is equally shocked as he is while Ethan stared at her eyes in awe.

"You would at least keep this secret, hmm?"

"You're a noble. What is a noble like you doing in this kind of place in those clothes?" he asked, still processing the information he was given.

"I have my reasons."

"Then does that mean you're the Pillar's only Princess?" Leo said in amazement.

"Pillar what now?"

"You're the only daughter of the Empire's Strongest Pillar of support!" Avy stared at him with a not so pleased face before speaking.

"Commoners do like naming famous people, don't they?" she said. "And that to be said, most of them are lame."

"Then does that mean you have a lot of money, sister?" Ethan asked

"If you're talking about the family money, they do have a lot."

"Then you should buy Mrs. Lewis' dresses!" the ginger-headed child energetically told her.

"Ethan!" Tertius hissed, trying to silence him. "Mrs. Lewis told us not to talk about that." he added

"But... She doesn't buy her medicine just to make sure all of us in the house eats." Ethan's energy faded as his voice became quieter.

"To be honest... I really don't need dresses right now. I have a ton already." Avy answered honestly, putting her hand on top of her knuckles and her elbow rested on the table.

"Is that so...?" the small child's eyes saddened and showed disappointment, poking the noble lady's soft spot.

"B-but who knows? I might need clothes other than dresses. I'll think about it." she told him which made his face light up once again.

"Really?"

"If she's talented enough to make the clothes I request, why not?"

"You won't regret it, sister! Mrs. Lewis is really amazing, you know?" the child boasted innocently, causing her to let out a small chortle.

"Is it really okay, My Lady?" Tertius stated hesitantly.

"Don't call me My Lady here, blondie. There are nobles scattered all around." Avy didn't answer his question and just listened to Ethan talk more about them until their meal ended.

"This is too much, sister. You've helped us enough." Leo and the two kids were holding bags of different kinds of food in their small hands as the four of them stood in front of a worn-out two-story house.

"Ginger here is too small, he might break if he doesn't eat." Avy said pertaining to the small ginger head kid with a big smile on his face.

"Yes! Thank you sister!" she had the urge to ruffle his fluffy-looking curly hair, but of course, restrained herself.

"B-but–"

"Get inside Brunette. I'm leaving." she interrupted and didn't even let him finish a sentence and just turned her back on them to leave. The three kids watched the back of their Savior disappear from their sight, hoping to see her again and maybe someday repay her back for the things she's done.

It didn't take long for Avy to get to the cave where she left the child a couple of days ago, after all, it was located right outside the capital and the territory she was from was like the border of the capital, standing next to the forest.

'I wonder what he's doing.' she entered the cave with the same illumination stone she used last time and walked inside silently hoping that the kid was safe and sound.

Unlike the last time she stepped inside that cave, the first thing she saw was the peaceful face of the small boy and not the face of a man suffering in pain. He was lying on the cart, resting on a pillow while his eyes were closed. His breathing was soft and comfortable and not as if he was dying.

What a relief.

Kill must've felt her presence and sat up, rubbing his eyes. Compared to the last time she saw him, his complexion was paler and he has dark bags under his eyes. Must be the effect of saying inside a cave without sunlight for days.

"Ma?" Kill said the second he laid his eyes on Avy.

He immediately stood up and jumped on her to give her a tight hug. Avy wasn't prepared but was able to catch him with a little stagger to keep herself standing.

"You came back..." she heard the kid say in a soft tone, she tried to lightly push him away because she's not used to skin contact but he resisted.

"I-I came back. But, I am not your Mom, kid."

"No... I don't want to let go." for a couple of seconds, Avy just stood still like she was frozen on the spot.

"...kid?" once again, she heard his soft breathing as Kill fell asleep on her shoulders.

"Why is he so tired?" she muttered and carefully went to the side to sit down, Kill was still holding onto her tightly therefore she couldn't put him on his self-made bed.

She rested her head on the big rock inside the cave and put her arm around the child's back to prevent him from falling.

"...I'll also rest for a while."

"Don't leave me, Ma..." she heard Kill say in his sleep which made her smile for the nth time that day.

She chortled

"Children."
