Leah POV

I was slowly drifting back into consciousness when I felt a pair of arms lift me up. I wasn't fully aware of what was happening, but I heard the person's footsteps take me somewhere, and then I heard a door opening.

I assumed we were walking into a house, and I finally managed to pry open my eyes. They opened slowly, but they recognised my surroundings. I was back in Giorgia's house. How did I get here? Oh, right. There was a person carrying me.

My gaze turned to the person's face, and immediately recognised him as Vlado. My brain turned for a bit, trying to figure out why he was carrying me, but then it remembered the events of earlier on. I stretched my legs out slightly, gaining Vlado's attention.

"Sorry, did I wake you up?"

I waved him off. "No, it's fine." I looked to where he was carrying me, and noticed he was heading up the stairs, and I pulled a face.

"What's wrong?" He asked when he noticed my expression.

"Nothing, I just don't really feel like sleeping right now," I explained, and noticed the T.V to my right. "I'd rather watch something."

"But we're driving back tomorrow. Wouldn't you rather get some sleep so you don't feel like you drove through a brick wall in the morning?"

"Nah, you're driving us anyway, so you're the one who needs to get sleep." I patted his arm and he set me down with a confused expression.

"I thought you would want to drive with Clarke or Theo?"

I thought for a moment. "They would probably want to drive together again, seeing as you are 'always brooding'." I giggled when Vlado let out an annoyed groan and walked towards the couch. I reached for the remote, but Vlado snatched it off the table before I could.

I whipped my head to him and gave him an offended look, but he just held the remote above his head and tutted.

"Uh, uh, uh! If we're going to watch something, I'm picking."

My mouth dropped and I shook my head. "Nuh-uh, I haven't watched anything for a while, and I want to pick!"

Vlado smirked. "Well, too bad. I'm picking." I let out a huff and sunk back into the couch with a pout. Vlado just laughed and sat next to me, turning on the T.V.

"Alright, I'll let you pick the genre though," he said as he got onto Netflix. "What do you want?"

I sat up and put a hand on my chin, thinking of all the options.

"I want to watch..." I trailed off as he scanned through the genres available on Netflix.

"Horror?"

I pulled a face and looked at him. "Horror? What are you, dumb? No, it's like you're asking to be traumatised for a month."

He laughed. "You've never watched a horror movie?"

I folded my arms. "Of course I have, I don't live under a rock. But watching them in the early morning is like asking the Grim Reaper if you can die."

Vlado chuckled and looked back at the T.V. "All right then, so what do you want to watch?"

"For that horror mention, I want to watch something happy. Something nostalgic." I turned to him. "So basically any kids movie."

Vlado rolled his eyes and sighed. "Seriously? If I get caught watching a kid's movie, my reputation will be ruined."

I shrugged. "Tough luck." Vlado looked at me and scoffed in fake offence.

"Wow, that is cold."

I put a hand on my chest and grinned. "Aww, thank you." My smile dropped. "Now pick a movie."

Vlado rolled his tongue against his cheek and turned back to the T.V with a small smirk. He scrolled through the kid's movies. Ice Age. Brave. Shrek. Sing. Zootopia. Frozen.

"Why are there so many..." I heard him mumble to himself, and I stifled a laugh.

"How about I pick three and then you choose the one we watch?"

"Yes, please."

It didn't take me long to pick three of the movies available. "Luca, Nightmare Before Christmas, or Coraline." I looked at Vlado. He thought for a couple of seconds.

"I'll pick Coraline. Sounds good."

I smirked as he clicked play. "Oh, it is good."

* * * * * * * *

"What the hell is that ending?!" Vlado exclaimed once the movie finished, and I laughed.

"What? You aren't happy that she saved the beats the Other Mother, saved her parents and the three lost souls?"

Vlado pulled a face at me. "Obviously I am, but what happened to that other kid, Wybie or whatever."

I turned off the T.V and gave him a look. "Were you paying attention at all? He's dead. The Other Mother figured out Other Wybie helped Coraline, that's why his clothes were on that pole on the house in the Other World." Vlado looked at the blank T.V with his mouth agape.

"Seriously?" He turned back to me. I nodded. He scoffed. "Damn, that's intense." I nodded in agreement. I didn't really have anything else to add. I had seen the movie before, so I knew all I could know about it.

"We'd better get to bed. We have to get up in a couple of hours," Vlado commented. I nodded and went to sit up, but Vlado grabbed onto my arm.

I stopped and turned to him. "What's up?"

He stayed quiet for a short moment before he spoke. "I just want to say sorry about what that guy did. It wasn't right, and I should've stopped it earlier." He let go of my arm, but I stayed seated on the couch next to him.

"It's all right, you couldn't have known. It was very crowded. I'm surprised you even managed to find me."

He shuffled a bit. "Still, I should have had more people watching over you."

I was confused for a moment, before I realised what he meant. "Right, I remember you said something about it being your club." I put a hand on his shoulder. "But why do you think that? He was just an idiot, probably drunk."

He just looked at me for a few seconds. "Because my club isn't always the safest place to be, unfortunately, and there are always people with bad intentions at any club."

"That's true, but I'm sure he didn't mean to. I'm sure he just drank too much."

Vlado narrowed his eyes slightly, and I squirmed slightly under the intense gaze. "Why are you defending him?"

I looked off to the side slightly. "I'm not, I'm just saying what could have happened."

There was a small silence between us before Vlado put his hand on my chin and forced my gaze back to him. "Is this about what he said to you?"

I didn't answer.

"Leah, you should know that this wasn't your fault. You're allowed to dress however you want. Guys shouldn't be forcing themselves onto you like that just because they think you want to get laid."

My eyes met his. "You should know that you weren't in the wrong. He was. Because he couldn't keep it in his pants. That's not your fault."

He stopped talking, and I gave him an appreciative smile. "Thank you, Vlado. I just can't help feeling like I kind of led him on."

"But you didn't. You just wanted to have fun, and he decided to ruin it. But don't worry, you won't have to deal with him again."

I gave him another smile before I wrapped my arms around him. He hesitated for a moment, but he eventually put his hands softly on my back.

"Thank you, Vlado," I whispered, and I felt his grip on me get slightly tighter.

"Anything for you, Leah. I'll always support you."

We stayed like that for a few more minutes, before I eventually pulled away.

"Well, we should probably get some sleep."

Vlado cleared his throat. "Right," he stood up from the couch and I followed. "I'll see you later, Leah." I rose on the tips of my toes and gave him a small peck on the cheek, before lowering myself back down.

"See you later, Vlado."

He gave me a small smile and I walked past him back to my room. I got changed and laid in bed. I tried closing my eyes to fall asleep, but I had a nagging feeling in the pit of my stomach.

One that wasn't there when I was with Vlado.

Romero POV

Earlier...

Mary had been gone for a while, and I was starting to get suspicious. What could possibly be taking this long? I mean, it had been hours since I had last seen her.

"I'm sorry," I said to Rowan and Scarlett. "I have to go." They both gave me a nod and I turned around and walked away. I made the cleaning closet my destination and I headed to it quickly. I had made it in a matter of minutes, but when I opened the door, nobody was there. Nothing was even gone.

I closed the door, and thought of where she could be. She could be in her room, so that's where I headed.

I got there in only a few minutes, and quickly opened the door, but all I found was Amelia.

"Woah, what's going on?" She asked, rising out of her bed.

I gave her a fake smile. "Sorry, just had to check something. I'll leave you to it." I left before she could respond and decided to just try walking around the house in hopes of running into her. I turned in random directions as I walked in the halls, never once running into the one person I was looking for.

It had almost been twenty minutes, and I decided that it was time to call Vlado. I didn't pull out my phone though. I headed to his office. If I called his number from his office phone, he would be more likely to pick up. It only took a couple of minutes to get to his office.

I tried to open the door, but it didn't budge. I looked at the handle confused before trying again, coming to the same result.

"The hell..?" I muttered to myself before fishing out my key. Only a couple of us had keys for Vlado's office; Clarke, Theo, Vlado-obviously- and myself. Maybe he just locked it so nobody else could get in? Yeah, seemed reasonable enough.

But when I opened the door, I immediately doubted my thought.

Hunched against the desk in front of me was Mary, holding Vlado's gun in her shaky hands. She immediately pointed it at me, and I put my hands in front of me.

"Woah, Mary, it's ok," I said, keeping my eyes glued on her and the gun. "Where'd you get that?"

She kept her gazed locked on me, and her hands stopped shaking. "How about you tell me why Vlado would have something like this casually in his desk? And please," she clicked the safety off.

"Spare no detail."
