"We are under attack!"
Her eyes widened when Elijah rushed these words out and grabbed her wrist.
"I have to take you at a safer place." He informed her as he tugged her behind.
"Serena?" She asked in a worried tone. Elijah tensed a little.
"Don't worry about her. She will be fine." He said to her as he pulled the doors open of a basement.
Nora watched him curiously as he pressed some buttons on the screen that appeared out of nowhere. The walls started shaking, revealing a secret tunnel.
Nervousness overtook her nerves as Elijah pointed at her to get inside.
Nora crawled in her way and finally stood up when the ceiling in the tunnel got higher. It looked like a den.
"What about you?" She asked in a worried tone when she saw that Elijah wasn't actually going to come with her.
"Don't worry about me. At the end of your way, your brother will meet you. It might take him sometime to reach but he will be there. Don't be scared, princess." Nora slowly nodded her head and watched as the door shut. The wind whipped her hair one last time.
Darkness, pure darkness that was in the cage. With shaky hands, she turned the flashlight of her phone on.
"I can do this." She whispered to herself but her hands were shaking with fear.
She started to walk in the darkness but froze when the roof started shaking. A loud blast vibrated in her ears. She felt like she was standing in the middle of tornado.
Whatever happening upstairs was scary. Too much scary to be her liking.
She whimpered when there was another earth shaking blast. The high frequency vibrations sent her body collapsing on the ground with a small thud. Guilt filled in her heart as she thought back about Elijah, Serena, others servants and guards.
She just hoped that they were safe.
The bruises formed on her knees but she chose to ignore them and started rushing towards the exit.
She ran for another 15 minutes and finally found herself at the end of tunnel. The roof was going shorter and she knew that she had to crawl her way out of there.
That she did effortlessly.
A small door caught her attention and to her surprise it was already opened.
She successfully got out and breathed heavily in the fresh air. The atmosphere back in the tunnel was suffocating. She sighed and wiped the sweat off her forehead. Her clothes too were drenched in the sweat.
The tall trees gained her attention and she realized that she was out in woods, out from the premises. It was deadly silent.
Sound of cars racing down in her direction gained her attention quick. Was her brother there? She thought to herself.
She hid behind a giant tree and waited just in case if that person was someone else.
Some unfamiliar looking men stepped out of the cars. Her breathing stopped.
"That little suka must be hiding out there. Search the whole place." One of the muscular, scary looking man yelled commands at others.
Were they referring to her?
"This is about time we got to have hands on the weakest point of O'Crimson family! We must not miss this chance! Her brothers are back there and she is hiding here. It will take one of them some time to reach here until then we have to find her and kill her."
With that they parted their ways. Their accents sounded different and foreign.
But what made Nora worried the most was that they were here to get her.
Nora knew that hiding there was of no use. She had to get out of here somehow. There was two ways in front of her- running and get caught or hiding but still get caught that would happen sooner.
She could take the chance of running. Maybe she can outrun them.
Oh God. Please help...
She prayed and looked down at her phone. She threw it away while avoiding the chances of it to be getting tracked and getting herself caught.
Good thing that Damon had warned her beforehand about times like this.
That's when she started running avoiding the creepiness that lurk in dark shadows.
She froze when out of nowhere a man came in her direction. But he was looking at his back. Her eyes widened and she backed away before hiding behind a huge rock that was near her.
She crawled her way behind it towards a large tree to hid behind it. She could have climbed those trees but apparently she had no lesson or strength to do it right now.
A painful gasp slipped past her lips when she felt a sharp sting on her ankle. She looked down, there was darkness but her eyes managed to figure out something that was slithering in other direction.
Could it be?
No!
She looked down at her ankle in hesitation and swallowed harshly.
It was a now or never kind of situation in front of her.
With teary eyes, she ignored the pain that was excruciating in her ankle and started to limp towards a direction that hopefully goes out of these woods.
She needed her brothers so bad right now.
Where were they?
Please be safe. Softly whimpering, she prayed for their safety, she rushed past the trees.
Her eyes widened when a tall shadow loomed over her short frame.
"Here you are little suka!" She looked up. Fear rolling out of her body as she tried to take a step back. His heavy hand came down her face, so fast, that she fell down on the ground hard with the impact.
"Not so brave now sneaky little girl!" He laughed and gripped her hair in his fist hard.
"Let go of me." She hissed at him and tried to pull herself away from him but he didn't let go.
Her heart drummed in her chest loudly as he pulled a gun out and pointed it at her head.
"You have to die." He smirked, a ugly smirk.
For a moment, Nora ignored the heart clenching pain in her ankle. For a moment, she ignored this person's ugly presence who was laughing at her, mocking her vulnerability. For a moment, she forgot everything as she closed her eyes, preparing herself mentally.
In that moment, she remembered those bittersweet memories of her brothers she had stored in her mind. How they made her cry, how they laughed at her, how they liked to push her around, letting her know that they were the only ones for her, her only family, their actions wordlessly each time showed a small hint of care. They cared for her, so deeply, that almost after trying to kill her, Angel still killed that guy who set his eyes on her in a wrong way. Every taunt that Hades had made on her was something that Nora had showed that she despised. But something inside her heart always fluttered knowing that he gave her enough of his attention. He would had chose to ignore her presence at all if she was some random girl. But no. He didn't kept on doing that. He formed a unique bond with her. Then Damon who showed his gentleness more among his other emotions. He cared for her deeply, from the starting and the difference between him and six of the brothers was that he showed this to her every time. Lucifer was almost a sneaky one. He loved to tease her and pull her in the troubles or the things that she did never liked to do. He was hella rude to her same like Hades but the thing that was identical in between them both was that he never let anyone stranger to get rude to her. Hunter called her 'little brat', the nickname itself would irritate any other girl but Nora liked it. Though Hunter was the most tough one to crack after judging his and her first meeting, but he cracked his tough walls even more sooner than his younger brothers. Vincent was the man of few words but what he always said was always true. He was always there for her, without showing, whenever she needed him, she slowly came to knew that he was there. Maybe behind Damon but he was there. She remembered the time when she got drunk and he had to handle her babbling nonsense self throughout the whole night. But his presence provided the warmth that whole night. Even it made her blush in embarrassment so much but she wanted him to cuddle with her, care for his sister who will get that bad hangover next day. William easily gained a place of figure of true father in her life. His stern stare on her but also making sure that she was safe and protected all the time. The way he looked in her eyes, like he could look right at her soul, he just knew everytime she was hiding something. He read her emotions so beautifully that Nora was left in awe. From out of her all brothers, from out from everyone in this world, all she did wanted was William's trust. She didn't wanted to see disappointment held in his eyes for her. The thought yet alone clenched her heart. Her brothers might be evil for the whole world but for her they were her heart.
A last tear slipped down her cheek as she heard as that person cocked the gun.
A moment later, the trigger was pulled. Nora heard clearly but she felt none pain. She looked up, her vision blurred with tears. The person who was going to kill her was now laying down on her feet like begging for her mercy one last time.
A small smile made its way on her lips.
Her vision cleared and she felt more than relieved after looking at Hades. He extended his hand and Nora shakily grabbed it and he hauled her body up.
Her balance stumbled and she clenched her eyes shut when it felt like jolts of electricity running down her ankle.
Hades grabbed her by her arm and looked down at her swollen ankle with furrowed eyebrows. The running footsteps in their directions, arose goosebumps on her skin.
Please don't let me down.
"Just few more minutes. I need you to be brave for me. Will you do it?" He asked as he wiped her fallen tears away.
Nora nodded slowly and leant her head against his chest.
"Sit there. I will be quick." He said to her and pointed towards the thick tree. Nora nodded and limped towards it and sat down on the ground.
She flinched everytime she heard gunshots running off from Hades gun. He killed without mercy but smoothly. His eyes held no remorse. Just concern of his sister who was losing her breaths.
Just few more seconds, Nora!
Hades said in his mind and refilled his gun, dodging the shot that was aimed at his heart.
Nora observed her ankle. It wasn't only her ankle, her whole leg was swollen. Tears pooled in her eyes.
She was just so weak. Her brother was fighting alone and she was here sitting pathetically.
Her emotions were on bay. She was thinking the things that she wasn't supposed to think. A whimper slipped past her lips at the sound of Hades curse.
As promised by Hades, few seconds later, it was silence. The same deadly, creepy silence of the woods but it didn't scared her this time. She wasn't alone now.
Her eyes started fluttering close as Hades reached near to pick her small body up in his arms.
"A-are others ok?" She whispered out almost inaudible but Hades managed to hear.
He didn't answered her.
The silence brought more tears in her eyes. She knew that something bad have happened.
"They are going to be fine! But they need you to be fine for that first." Hades told her.
Nora sighed lowly. Her nerves calming at his response. These few words were better than his silence.
"I am sleepy." She mumbled lowly as she pressed her cheek against his shoulder. She felt more light-headed.
"Sleep." That was the only response she got, she sank into the world of darkness but kept clutching dearly on the warmth that her brother was providing.
