By the time they landed in Italy, sun was starting to set. Fear started to plague Eleanora's mind. She wanted to scream, she wanted to cry but her other emotions were numb. Her fingers were hurting now due to her clenching them hard throughout the whole time.
William who was sitting on the other corner, stood up as he took a glimpse of the door opening. His cold eyes one time glanced in her direction. Her eyes already fixed at him, alert evident in those gray orbs.
He started walking out without a word and Nora with shaky legs tried to keep up with him. They walked down the steps and William could feel her eyes and steps following his back.
There were men, some associates and other the bodyguards of their family, waiting for them. They were all dressed in black suits. Nora avoided making eye contact with any of them.
She stumbled slightly as William's tall frame led her towards the one of limousine standing there.
William himself opened the door for her and without a word, she slid in. He followed her in and the guards shut the door. He sat far from her on the other side of the limo.
Nora clenched her hands in tight fists to calm herself down and looked outside and saw they were driving towards countryside.
Without even her mind's permission, a lone tear rolled down her cheek. William with a glass of red wine in his hand, watched the tear sliding down her cheek.
"You cry too much." He stated and took a sip of his wine.
Eleanora ignored his words. Her heart clenched at his rudeness. She knew he was stating the truth but the way he slapped it on her face and kind of mocked her, only hurt her more.
Was he accepting her to be happy? He killed her mother. He took her forcibly away from her father. In some matter of days, he ruined her life completely and why did he done that? The reason, the answer was still unknown to her. He didn't even bothered to give her any explanation. The voices in her head were laughing at her. What did she even do to deserve all of this? Now how could she not shed a tear out at her own misery?
William didn't said anything else but started making some business calls.
Nora's mind was engulfed with the memories of her mother. She regretted the way how she ignored her from the past few years. The bittersweet memories only made her realize that how selfish she actually was. If she would have opened up to her mother in the hard times, Acacia would be alive today and they would be living happily.
She took a shaky breath in when her mind sudden clouded with the familiar dark memories. That haunting night that ruined everything.
She was so lost in thought that she didn't even realized that they reached her unknown destination.
She hesitantly stepped outside. Her eyes made contact with a beautiful villa in front of her. It was standing proudly in front of her.
William reached near the front door. He didn't even bothered to see if she was following him or not.
Nora cursed inwardly at her cruel fate and followed his steps. Her eyes darted around her surroundings. There were guards standing almost at every corner.
Two of them who were standing at the front door pushed open the doors.
Nora hesitated a little, something inside her told her if she step inside here today, she will be trapped forever.
William's steps paused and he looked at her. He stared at her up and down, judging her movements. He could tell that she was panicking. Her face showed pure fear. Tears brimming eyes and shaking hands showed that she was beyond terrified.
"Come inside." A little taste of annoyance was filled in his tone.
A little, startled jump was all he got in response. Guards were starting to stare at her and it only increased her anxiety.
One of them was about to approach her but stopped when suddenly William himself took a threatening step in her direction.
He stopped in front of her and his cold fingers wrapped around her small wrist. Nora gasped at the contact.
Terror started flooding in her veins but before she could even react, she was pulled through the doors effortlessly.
A quiet trembling sob slipped past her lips when his fingers digs slightly in her flesh.
Hearing it, William immediately released her. Nora shrunk back to herself.
He looked down at her wrist now a little surprised.
"You bruise easily." He murmured silently.
Nora refused to look at him again. She kept staring at the ground watching as her tears fell silently.
"Serenity!" He yelled for someone.
A young looking blonde girl in the maid uniform came rushing towards them. She looked hardly around the age of 20 or something.
"Y-y-yes s-sir." She stuttered.
"Are others were here today?" He asked in a cold tone.
Eleanora lifted her teary eyes up to stare at her face with a sad look. Serenity was visibly shivering standing in front of them.
"N-n-no S-sir." She replied.
"Take her to her room." He shortly dismissed them with a flick of his fingers.
"P-please f-f-follow m-me m-mam." She said to Eleanora.
Eleanora gave her a confused look but followed her without a word. She could clearly feel William's cold stare piercing her back.
Serenity paused in front of one of the door and pushed it open for Nora.
Nora entered in and took a short glance around her room.
"M-my n-name i-is S-s-serenity, m-mam. T-this i-is y-y-your r-room. I-if y-you n-n-need a-anything e-else, p-please f-feel f-f-free t-to c-call m-me. A-a-and I-I a-am s-s-sorry I-I h-have a s-s-stammering p-problem."
Nora didn't said anything but gave her a slight smile in reassurance. The hesitation and fear of Serenity still didn't washed away from her face at Nora's lack of response.
"I-I-I s-should g-go n-now." Serenity whispered and bowed her head down slightly before taking her leave.
Eleanora stared at her back with a small frown etched on her features. She wanted to ask questions, the reason of her presence here because Serenity was making her feel at least a little relaxed. But Nora had no guts to speak.
She looked around her room with her lips pressed in thin line. The walls were the plain mixture of gray and white and the interior was mostly black. There was a queen size bed in the centre, a big but empty wardrobe and a door connected to one of the wall, which Nora assumed as a comfort room. One thing Nora liked about her room the most was balcony.
She carefully sat down on the window and admired the stars covered beautiful sky. She could clearly see the entire premises. Her eyes caught the sight of huge house that was a little far from the villa. It didn't looked like some huge house but a mansion. She couldn't clearly tell due to the darkness of night.
She heard the familiar rumble of the car downstairs and looked at William who was sliding inside one. It surprised Nora that he was driving.
She watched in confusion as he raced out from the gates. Her stare followed the headlights of car that was the only source of light in darkness, on the road.
It took only few seconds, the headlights of William's car turned off. Only thing that surprised Nora was that it stopped near that mansion.
A few minutes later, she got bored and moved towards that new comfy looking bed.
She laid down on top of it and curled her body into a small ball with her arms around her knees, hugging them.
She closed her eyes to get some sleep but the taunting of those voices snapped her eyes open again.
She clutched her knees tightly and squeezed her eyes shut. But whenever she did that, a familiar scene repeated in front of her eyes which only brought more tears in her eyes.
The voices started getting louder in her head. Nora got terrified when the thought of killing herself suddenly came in her mind. The voices in her head told her to comply her dizzy brain's command and to kill herself.
Nora cried silently when the same horrors of her life started playing in front of her eyes like some black and white movie.
She kept crying for hours till her tears dried off. Till the beautiful rays of morning started hitting her face but never once her eyes caught the blink of sleep.
Her hollow eyes just kept staring at the ceiling as the horror movie continued to play in her mind.
