Violet's POV:
I'm at Aurora Hotel because I had to meet up with Alex. He's currently finishing his shift, the shift of his fake job. But it's okay, I kind of admire the fact that the man wants to cover up his actual lifestyle.
I reach the restaurant and wait for him to walk out of the kitchen.
I'm scrolling on instagram when a hand touches my shoulder to grab my attention, as I look up from my phone I see a smiling Alex, standing in front of me.
"Hey best friend" I greet him smiling back and he hugs me, before pulling away and speaking "Let's go get a coffee, I only have 30 minutes before I start my second shift. One of my coworkers didn't show up so I have to cover up." he says and I laugh a little. He looks at me confused to why I'm laughing and I begin explaining "You know you don't have to do this, right?" he's still confused.
Oh boy, stop playing dumb.
"I mean all this because you don't want people to understand that you work in the mafia" I say and he smirks. "What do you mean the mafia? I'm a simple waiter in a simple restaurant." I look at him and laugh, shoving my hand in his shoulder, not hurting him. He fake pouts and laughs after.
We reach the Cafe, in the same floor as the restaurant, and order our coffees. "How can you drink it with only one sugar? Coffee is terrible without sugar and putting that little won't change anything!" I argue with Alex as we begin to walk to the reception area, to rest a little before he starts working again.
"Girl coffee is coffee, you can't put tons of sugar in it! Coffee having too little sugar helps me to not fall asleep when Blake talks in a meeting!" He argues back and I laugh, he's got a point.
We finish our coffee and talk a bit before he leaves for work again, and I decide to go home and chill before going to Shadows.
I walk to the elevator and press the button, waiting for it to reach me.
As the doors open I step in and press the button which takes me to the first floor. But the elevator stops at the second floor, someone must've pressed the button.
I'm looking down at my feet when I see that the person who walks in has a pair of black classic shoes, seems like one of those rich people.
Wait. I know those shoes.
My eyes slowly capture the whole picture of the person in front of me and there he is. Blake Federico Ferreri. My lovely boss.
He presses the button to the first floor and finally sees me, his look surprised.
"Hello Miss Rodriguez." he says stepping beside me, looking straight in front of him. "Hello Mr Ferreri." I say back, avoiding eye contact too.
It doesn't take much for the elevator to reach the first floor but as we're almost there, Blake stops it, pressing one of the buttons.
I furrow my eyebrows and look at his figure. "What are you doing?" I say and he doesn't react, his back facing me.
After a solid minute of silence I finally hear his voice, deep and husky like usual "Did you take the note?" his question comes out of nowhere.
"Yes, I did. And?" I say searching for his eyes but he still doesn't face me.
Silence hits us for a few seconds, before he speaks again.
"Nothing. Just wanted you to know that as your boss, I'm here to support you. Just that." he says and I'm fucking confused. Does he have mood swings?
I didn't interpret the note like that. I thought he cared about me as a friend. Not as my boss. That's fine, better off this way anyway.
"Great, thank you." I say, my voice coming out almost as a whisper but I know he heard me.
He steps closer to the button he pressed and does it again, the elevator starts moving. The doors open and just as I'm about to walk past him, I hear his voice "I'm leaving for Italy tomorrow."
_______________
That last sentence made me confused as fuck. He's leaving for Italy? Why?
I can't continue asking myself questions I will never have the answers to, but I also can't ask him. We all know why, the man hates me and I surely hate him, too. But mostly because he wouldn't even answer my questions, why would he?
Bang. Another question I can't answer.
My thoughts are interrupted by James, which tells me to serve a few drinks on table 7.
I reach the table and serve the people around it, all of them looking at their early twenties. I spot a guy from them, he seems like the introvert type who doesn't like to go to these kind of places, but still does because he's actually cool. He's the attractive friend in that group.
I give him the drink he ordered and smile at him, as he looks at me and gives me a little smile.
I walk away and continue serving, everyone's enjoying the night, like always.
Reaching James for another order, I bump into a person. Not a person built like a wall tho. Not Blake. I bumped into the guy from table 7.
"I'm sorry" I say hoping he heard me through the music but he just smiles, leans down to my ear and says "No problem." Even tho I can't fully hear his voice because of the music, I can still tell it's hot.
I mean no. I just met the guy. I have to stop.
I thought he was going to walk away, when he speaks again "I think your phone desires my number" I chuckle a little and he leans back, looking at me. "Yeah, that could work" I say and he chuckles too.
After he gives me his number I continue my shift and finally end work for today. My phone is dead and I don't see Silvia. Jacob must've already kidnapped her, poor woman. I laugh at myself and head out of the club, beginning to walk.
A car pulls up next to me, shivers running down my spine.
I look at the car and the driver rolls down the window. It's the guy from table 7. I actually learned his name, it's Christian. Attractive name for an attractive guy.
"Why are you walking alone in the middle of the night?" He says and I can now hear his voice clearer, because there's silence in the street, we're not in a club anymore.
"I'm going home from Shadows. I didn't find my friend so now I'm walking alone" I say and he shakes his head "I'm taking you home, get in." He states and I hesitate, but get in.
"You tell me, boss" he says as his eyes are focused on the street, I look at him and smile, before talking seriously "You know, we just met and I-" he cuts me off "It's completely fine. Tell me where do you want me to leave you and I'll drop you there." He quickly glances at me and smiles, damn. I like him.
He pulls up to a park which is near my house and as I'm getting out I hear his voice again "Text me when you get home" I nod and smile.
His car drives off and I smile at myself. Did I just meet an attractive guy who seems to respect women and actually looks like a nice person? I think I did.
I walk home and change, I text him I got home, before laying on my bed. My phone buzzes a few seconds later "Perfect." the message says and I grin. His profile picture is an image of him and another guy, they're both smiling, he's showing off his gorgeous smile.
Along with his hazel eyes and light brown hair, his figure tall and big. Not as big for me to think I bumped into Blake, but still big.
Gosh stop thinking about Blake, the man hates you, Violet.
I welcome darkness, falling asleep peacefully in my comfy bed.
The next morning I wake up to a text from Christian, asking me out for coffee. I agree and get ready, what should I wear? I pull a Dora the explorer on my wardrobe until I find a white skirt and a dark blue jumper, cute.
I put them on and fix myself in the bathroom. I don't know why I'm being nervous about this, it's not like we're going on a date. Well it kind of is a date. Ugh whatever. I put on a pair of shoes and walk out of my eyes, after grabbing my purse and locking the door.
I reach the Cafe everyone in LA goes to and search for him. I finally spot him near the Cafe's corner, on a table for two. I walk to him and sit, he looks up from his phone and smiles at me.
"Good morning Violet" he says and gestures for the waiter to come and take our order "Good morning Christian" I greet back and we order.
The man is actually funny. He has a sense of humour and isn't offended when I use sarcasm. I like the vibe he gives me.
We're laughing about one of his childhood memories, one where he threw a ball into the kitchen and almost burned down the house, and he gets up to pay.
We walk out of the Cafe still laughing and he stops, looking at me. "Did you have fun drinking a coffee with me, Miss Violet?" He says, amusement in his voice and I nod "Very much, Mr Christian".
We walk a little before we part our ways, both going to our own house.
I go home, then grab my stuff for work and drive to Shadows, this time I'm fucking going with my car.
Did Blake already fly to Italy? Did he change his mind?
Those thoughts kept wondering in my head, driving me crazy. I don't know why I still had these questions on my mind.
My shift starts and I see Jacob talking to Silvia. He goes to leave the club but I quickly reach him, those questions are devouring me now.
"Hi, sorry for blocking your way, but I have a question." I say breathing heavily from the sprint I took and he smirks at me "He left, Violet." he says before walking out of the club, leaving me with my mouth hanging in the air, I actually thought he wasn't going to Italy.
