"You heard me, I said I had something else," says X. His tone is different than usual. He's usually upbeat, he always had a joking tone to his voice even when he's announcing the murders.

"Well, what are you waiting for? Tell us what you have," says Chase.

"Are you sure you want to hear it?" says X hesitantly.

"Just tell us! There's no point in telling us you have something if you don't say what it is," says Blake.

"I agree," says Carly.

"If that's what you want, then so be it. But, a fair warning, this option is far more dangerous than the one you guys are going through right now."

"What..?" says Lexi.

"There's no way, we're in a killing game, what could be worse than that?" says Joseph.

"Trust me, there can be worse," says X.

Everyone shares a confused look, X still isn't budging, at least, not yet.

"X, I have a question," says Ana, "why didn't you mention this 'other option' when you were explaining the rules?"

"It was supposed to be a backup, let's just say, this option isn't the most entertaining, it goes too fast," says X.

"You speak on the option as if it's been done before," says Carly.

"That's because it has been. You guys aren't special, I've done this to others, you aren't the first group to suffer from this, but-"

"WHAT?!" says Blake, "what are you-"

"Blake, let me finish," X says sternly, "as I was saying, yes, you guys aren't the first group, but every group that's chosen this option has regretted it, that's why I wanna know if you guys are sure about this."

"Well, we need to know what this 'option' is before we are certain about it," says Rachel.

"She's right, you need to tell us," says Ana.

"Very well. This other option is sort of like an obstacle course, you need to complete every stage. As the stages progress, the closer you are to the exit and getting the hell out of here. You should know the exit when you see it, you can't miss it. It's a large door with lights above it."

"Is that it?" says Joseph.

"That's not necessarily too bad," says Carly.

"Quite frankly, you made this option seem worse than it actually is," says Blake.

"I'm not finished. This obstacle course isn't just using strength or agility, you have to use smarts too, you have to use your prior knowledge on random things to help you out. There may be obstacles for your arms and legs, for your physical strength, but there are also 'obstacles' for your mind."

"I can't do that..." says Lexi, "I'm only 10, what am I supposed to do?"

"Now hold on, kid, I modify the obstacle course for every group so that it's fair. I promise you that you can be useful during it."

Lexi is silent, she doesn't say anything in retaliation.

"So, is that it? Or have you forgotten to include something?" says Chase.

"I haven't forgotten anything, I'm just not finished. All the information from before was important but not as important as what I'm about to say. All of you need to pay close attention to what I'm about to say."

"Just say it," says Blake, "I'm tired of waiting."

"I agree," says Joseph.

"Very well," X clears his voice before continuing, "you can lose lives during this obstacle course, but it's much worse than what you guys are doing right now. Depending on how much a certain stage is worth, you can either lose half of your lives... or all of them. One or two wrong moves and you're dead."

"WHAT?!" says Carly.

"THAT'S ABSURD," says Ana.

"Absurd or not, that's the only other option you guys have. You can either do the obstacle course or endure another 10 rounds of this game. If you need, I can step back for a bit and give you guys time to talk it out."

"That would be best," says Joseph.

"Then it is what I will do. A heads up, all 7 of you need to agree to do one or the other, if even one of you wants to do the rest of the 10 games, then it is what will be done. If you guys do decide to do the obstacle course, I hope you all have what it takes, after all, you guys are my favorite group. It would be a shame for all the potential you guys have to be wasted," X steps off of the intercom, leaving everyone to discuss.

"Well..." says Carly.

"So, what is everyone thinking?" says Chase.

"I want to do the obstacle course," says Joseph.

"But you have the least amount of lives, Joseph! You're the most at risk here!" says Lexi.

"It doesn't matter how many lives we have now, it matters how many times we mess up, we all will die if we mess up once or twice," says Joseph.

"He's right, the number of lives we have don't matter as much with the obstacle course," says Ana.

"Well, I want to do the obstacle course too," says Rachel.

"Huh?!" says Lexi.

"It's quicker to go through and I wanna get out of here," says Rachel.

"But-!" says Lexi.

"I'll do the obstacle course as well!" says Carly.

"If Carly's doing it, so am I," says Ana.

4 people have agreed to do the obstacle course, and 3 more to go.

"Blake, what are you gonna do?" says Joseph.

"Well, everyone is choosing the obstacle course, so I will too," says Blake.

"Why are you all agreeing so easily..?" says Lexi.

"Lexi?" says Carly.

"Why are you all agreeing so easily..? It's so much riskier than the 10 games we have left!" says Lexi.

"Lexi... is something wrong..?" says Joseph.

"Everything is wrong! It's so much easier for us to die with the obstacle course! Maybe you guys have some hidden talents to help you guys out but I don't! I'm a child! I am in elementary school, I can't do something like this! Before I was able to just hide like always but I can't do that now. I have to actually try. I don't have physical strength considering I'm 10, I'm too tiny and I definitely don't have smarts either!"

"Lexi... everything is gonna be ok, we won't let each other die, c'mon we can do this together," says Ana holding her hand out to Lexi with a smile.

Lexi smacks Ana's hand away, "No! I don't wanna!" Lexi says as she runs out of the lobby and into her dorm, slamming the door loud enough for everyone to hear.

"Lexi! Damn it!" says Joseph running to her dorm, "Blake, c'mon."

"What, why me?" says Blake.

"We were able to help last time, we should do it again," says Joseph.

Blake nods his head and follows after Joseph.

Lexi, open the door, please!" says Blake.

"No! Go away!" says Lexi.

"Lexi, please. Let's talk this out, ok? Let us try and calm you down," says Joseph.

"I'm not opening the door, we can talk like this," says Lexi.

"That's fine, Lexi. I promise you everything is gonna be ok," says Joseph.

"How can you promise that? You don't know if it's true," says Lexi.

"I'll make it true. I'll do my best to protect everyone, I swear on it," says Joseph.

"What about yourself though? Are you gonna protect yourself too?" says Lexi.

"Yeah. I'll protect myself..." says Joseph.

"Good," says Lexi, "there's no point in trying to protect us if you don't protect yourself."

"Lexi, I know that we can all survive, we can do it," says Joseph.

"I don't believe that. I know that all of you will be fine, you all have something, but I don't. I'm probably the one with the most risk of dying, I don't wanna die yet, I'm scared," says Lexi.

"And your feelings are completely valid, but you'll never know if you're gonna survive if you don't try," says Joseph.

"I would rather not risk my chances, thank you very much," says Lexi.

"I don't know what else to say," says Joseph whispering to Blake.

"Well, I do, so I'll be taking over for you," says Blake.

"Lexi, do you remember what X said?" says Blake.

"What?" says Lexi.

"He said that he modifies the obstacle course for every group so that it's fair. I'm sure there are some stages that you could be really good in, who knows, maybe you'll be able to help the rest of us in a stage!" says Blake, "X may be a monster, but he tries to make things fair and equal, he wouldn't just leave you behind like that."

"I think you're right, Blake..." says Lexi.

"Yeah, Lexi, I am, so could you please come out of there and join us in wanting to do the obstacle course?" says Blake.

There's silence for a few seconds, but then Lexi opens her door, "Fine, you better be right though."

"Don't worry, I am, now let's go," says Blake.

"She's gonna do the obstacle course!" says Joseph as they all walk back into the lobby.

"Nice!" says Rachel.

"Glad to have you on the team, Lexi!" says Carly.

"So there's just one more person we need..." says Ana.

"Chase? Are you gonna join us?" says Blake.

Chase has been silent the whole discussion, nobody noticed it until now but Chase has just been sitting on the couch looking down at the floor as if he's lost all of his hope.

"Chase..?" says Ana.

"Chase! Are you ok?" says Joseph going over to him.

"Huh? I apologize, I must've zoned out," says Chase.

"Did you hear what X said?" says Joseph.

"Yes, I heard everything, I assume that I started zoning out when the discussion started," says Chase.

"Alright. What's your decision?" says Blake.

"Umm... I'll do it. I choose the obstacle course," says Chase.

"PERFECT! You all have decided, correct?" says X stepping back on the intercom with his usual tone. It's as if his tone never changed in the first place.

"Yes. We've decided, X. We'll do the obstacle course," says Joseph.

"Amazing news! You love to hear it! Now that you all have decided, it's time to direct you to the obstacle course! I would show you but you know, I can't. Anyways! I need you all to go where you guys first teleported! The first place you guys ever saw in here."

"The place where it said the number of players on a board?" says Blake.

"Correct! Now now, hurry up!"

Everyone walks over to where it all began, it looks different than usual. The one couch that used to be here was gone, making the room completely empty. Instead of the room being dark like before, it was actually very well lit. And, the thing that caught everyone's attention; a new door.

"I assume you guys are focusing on the door, correct? That's good because that's where you guys need to go. If one of you will go and open that door, that would be peachy."

Chase is the one to open the door, and the other side of the door is a sight to behold. It's a room with a bunch of gadgets, it looked like something from a movie.

"Woahh," says Lexi.

Joseph goes inside the room to get a closer look at them, "these things must be worth a fortune! They look very futuristic."

"Now, now everyone! Try and contain your excitement for now! I know they look cool but I need to explain a few more things before I let you guys get started."

"Like what?" says Lexi.

"I'm glad you asked, kid! First, your roles do not matter in this obstacle course. For the sheriff, your gun has been taken away and for the murderer, your knife has been taken away. Second, while the games may have been a 'trust no one' type of theme, this is the complete opposite. With this obstacle course, you need teamwork and trust to survive. I told you guys it wasn't exciting for a reason!"

"Question. If our roles don't matter now, do we get to know everybody's roles?" says Ana.

"Not at the moment, no. At the end of the obstacle course, I will tell everyone who had which role. If by any chance someone dies before the end of the obstacle course, I will tell them and them only," says X, "if you guys don't have any other questions we can get started on the obstacle course."

"Start the obstacle course, X," says Chase.

X starts laughing, "With pleasure."
