As the game starts, hundreds of zombies appear from out of nowhere, and the players all start running in different directions. As they're running they notice things on the ground. They're weapons. As everyone is running looking for a place to go, they all realize that there's one place on the map with the highest ground, the church.
Blake picks up a bat from the ground, as he yells "IM NOT SURE IF YOU GUYS WILL BE ABLE TO HEAR ME, BUT PICK UP A WEAPON FROM THE GROUND AS FAST AS POSSIBLE!"
They all hear him, and as they look for a weapon, they notice that there are 4 types of weapons: A crowbar, a bat, a knife, and a gun.
Rachel picks up a knife.
Carly and Lexi pick up a bat.
Ana picks up a crowbar.
And Chase and Joseph both pick up a gun, fully loaded.
Joseph points his gun up in the sky, as he pulls the trigger, he yells, "EVERYBODY, GET TO THE CHURCH, WE CAN STAY THERE FOR THE REST OF THE ROUND!"
Everyone starts running in the direction where the church is, and their experiences differ from the others...
Blake's POV:
I start sprinting, "I can't die, I can't die!" As I sprint, those are the only words that come out of my mouth.
A few zombies, maybe around 10, are coming towards me, I pull out my bat and get ready to attack.
As they get even closer to me, I start swinging, hoping for the best. I close my eyes out of fear, and I swing and swing. Every swing is harder than the last, and as I open my eyes, I see that I've killed all of them. My clothes are all stained in zombies' guts, but that's fine. It's better than being dead.
I hear a growl behind me, "Shit! I missed one!" I turn around and get ready to swing with my bat one more time, but as I turn around, the zombie is too close to me. I stare in fear, I feel like I can't move. The zombie tackles me to the ground, which turns me back to reality. I think fast, I turn my bat horizontally and stick it in the zombie's mouth so it can't bite me.
"HELP ME! PLEASE!" I scream, hoping that someone else will get me out of this situation.
I hear a voice yell back at me, "I've got you, Blake!"
As that has been said, a knife has been thrown directly into the zombie's head. The zombie drops dead. They pull their knife out of the zombie's head. I see them offer me their hand so I can get back up, it's Rachel. She smiles at me.
"Thank you so much, Rachel! You saved my life!"
"It's no problem! But, we have to get to the church NOW!" says Rachel.
"You're right! Let's go!" I say as me and Rachel start running as fast as possible.
Rachel's POV:
As I run towards the church, A few zombies are trying to get me, but I kill all of them.
But, then I hear a voice. It's Blake. He was screaming for help. I look over to where he was, and I see him on the ground trying not to get eaten. I try and think quickly. I end up throwing my knife and it's a direct hit. I go to help him up and I see that he's covered in zombie's guts. He must've gotten ambushed or something.
I run with him to the church and we make it with no problems. We're the first ones here.
"What should we do?" says Blake.
"We should stay on the first floor, let's wait for everyone to get here," I say.
"You're right, we wouldn't be able to do much with just the two of us."
Ana's POV:
"Carly, you're there right?!" I say. We decided to stick together, to look out for each other in case there were too many zombies coming at us.
"I'm right here, don't worry! I'm not leaving your side!" she says.
That makes me so glad to hear. I can't lose her.
"Ana! Zombies coming toward you on your side!" she says.
"I got it!" I say as I hit the zombie with all of my force. I knock its head off.
"Good job!" she says, "I don't see any other zombies near us, let's run!"
"Got it!" I say as me and Carly take off running at the same time. She's much faster than me. I try and keep up, I can't fall behind, not in this situation.
Carly's POV:
When I hear Ana ask me if I'm still there, I feel so good. I know she would worry about anyone in this group of seven, but I can't help but smile.
I tell her there are zombies on her side, she takes them out astonishingly. I'm glad she has some idea on how to fight.
There are no zombies near us, so I tell her to start running to the church. I notice that she's slower than me, I try to slow myself down so she can keep up. I refuse to leave her alone in this situation.
We make it to the church. Blake and Rachel are already here. As soon as we walk in, we hear an announcement.
"5 more minutes in this stage, players!" says X.
"We're halfway there," I hear Rachel say as she lets out a sigh.
"I'm worried about the other 3, I feel like they should be here by now," says Blake.
"They'll get here, I just know it. They won't die this late into the game," I say, trying to lighten the mood.
After that, we just sat in silence, waiting for them.
Chase's POV:
It feels as if the zombies like me way more than the other players. They won't stop coming, I'm getting sick of this. I need an opening to run off to the church.
As I shoot one of the zombies, I realize that that was my last bullet.
"Shit!"
Multiple of them are coming for me. I could easily hit them with the gun but that's too risky.
"Someone help!" I call out, hoping Joseph will show up. He has the other gun so he might be able to share some of his bullets.
"DUCK!" I hear Joseph yell. I lower my head to ground level and I hear multiple shots fire, he shot all of the zombies that were near me.
"WHY AREN'T YOU SHOOTING THEM?" Joseph yells.
"I RAN OUT OF BULLETS, TOO MANY WERE COMING AFTER ME," I say in response.
"RUN TO THE CHURCH, NOW! I'LL COVER YOU, JUST GO!" says Joseph.
"I GOT IT!" I say as I sprint in the direction of the church. I see lots of zombies near me and as they get closer, I see Joseph shoot them, leaving me unharmed. After a few seconds, I make it to the church, and I'm welcomed by Ana, Carly, Blake, and Rachel.
"How did it go out there??" Blake asks me.
"I ran out of bullets, Joseph had to cover for me as I ran here since he has the other gun. He should be coming in here soon."
Joseph's POV:
Chase should be safe now, I saw him go in, it's time for me to go now.
I start sprinting to the church, hoping to be met by everyone. I hope everyone is already there. If I'm not the last person, this is gonna be bad.
A few zombies get in my way as I'm sprinting but I'm able to shoot them.
I get into the church and everyone starts greeting me.
"Joseph! You're ok!" screams Ana and Carly.
"Yes, yes, I'm fine. That's enough about me, is everyone else here?
Everyone looks around and a look of realization and despair falls on their face.
I try and look around to see who isn't here, and then I realize. Lexi.
"Did anyone ever see Lexi while you guys were running here??" I say with the panic in my voice raising.
Everyone says no, nobody has seen her since before the 5th stage.
"Everyone stay here. Don't follow me," I say as I open the church door and close it behind me.
I start running again as I scream Lexi's name.
"LEXI! LEXI! WHERE ARE YOU, LEXI?!"
I hear a voice, it's distant. It's Lexi.
I run towards the voice as fast as possible. I start to see her. She's sitting on a pile of something. It's high but it's risky to stay there.
"LEXI! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" I say as I catch up to where she is.
"J-Joseph! I can't move!" says Lexi.
"What do you mean?? What happened?" I say in fear that she may have been bitten.
"My leg hurts..." she says as her voice turns almost silent, her voice doesn't raise above a whisper.
"WHAT?!"
I lift up some of her pant leg to see if she's been bitten. I look at her legs and there's no bite mark to be seen. Thank god. Her leg seems to be broken.
"Lexi, your leg is broken. It's gonna be ok, I'll carry you to the church," I say, "get on my back."
"Are you gonna give me a piggyback ride?" she says.
"That's correct, get on quick, we don't have much time."
As she gets on my back, I start running, much faster than I just ran before. I can't let both of us die.
As I'm about to open the church door, I hear Lexi scream, "ZOMBIE!"
I turn and pull out my gun. I shoot and the zombie falls to the floor. Without wasting any time, I open the door, get inside, close it, and block it with one of the chairs.
Everyone looks relieved to see Lexi.
"Everyone, we only have around 2 minutes of this stage, let's go upstairs. We need to stay there until it's over," I say as I start going up the stairs.
Everyone starts following and as we get upstairs, we let out a sigh of relief.
"We're so close," Rachel says.
"That's right, we can do this," says Chase.
END OF JOSEPH'S POV.
After sitting upstairs for a bit, the players hear an announcement.
"The 5th stage is over! Good job, players!" says X, "I'll be teleporting all of you back now."
They get teleported back safely, and they all start celebrating.
"WE DID IT!" says Rachel.
"WE DID SO GOOD!" says Blake.
Before X starts a new sentence, he turns behind him. His boss isn't there. Good.
"My players! I'm so proud of you! I know you can't see me right now, but I'm smiling. Great job."
"Thank you. But, right now, we need to take care of Lexi. She broke her leg during the stage," says Joseph.
"Is that so? That's very upsetting. Joseph, can you take her to the infirmary for me? I believe I showed you where that was."
"Of course, and yes, you did show me, I'll be going now," says Joseph as he walks off.
"Moving on, all of you know how many lives you have, correct? Do I need to show how many lives everyone has?"
"We know, X. You don't have to show us," says Blake.
"Yeah, nobody died so we're good, thank you though," says Ana.
"It's a pleasure. Also, I will be postponing the 6th and final stage until Lexi recovers. Think of this as your extended break. Rest up, you guys, you deserve it."
"Thank you," says Rachel.
