After what felt like an eternity, Leo sauntered down to me, who was almost drowning in the water. That was because I'm standing over the couch, if not for it, I probably be drowning.
The water was just few inches above my neck and I feel suffocated.
I'm raising that pink diary high in air as not to get it wet. Leo took it from me and threw it at Antonio who easily caught it.
Leo told me to come closer to him so that he could drag me upwards. His words not mine.
I gave him my right hand and clutched his biceps tightly with the other.
The deathly grip tightened further when he adjusted me on his chest in a way that I'm sticking to him like a koala.
He was removing my left hand from his arm when I shrieked like a banshee and clung to him more tightly, causing the metal ladder to shake a little.
"Allegra, how am I going to climb this ladder without you falling, if you won't hold me correctly?" He gently pry my hand from his arm and around his neck.
Sighing in relief, he started climbing the ladder carefully. When we were few steps away from the top, Antonio grabbed me from my waist and pulled me towards him and out of the hole.
I slumped on his chest, breathing heavily. His hands were holding my palms tightly as if I would fall back inside it.
Leo came out of the hole with the help of Matteo and Rocco. Meanwhile Marco, Alexander, and Alessandro forwarded dry towels towards Leo.
Extremely giant towel was draped over me by Antonio, who kept rubbing my now cold palms.
"You are freezing, Alle!" He picked me up in his arms and made a run for my room and on the way, I settled my face between his shoulder seeking slight warmness.
____________.
Draping the spare pillow over my face, I hummed in delight.
When a sudden thought struck me, how did I end up in bed?
Panic settled deep inside me. Am I dead? Is it my death bed?
But that's just an idiom...right?
Or is it not?
I sat up in a flash, my hairs all over the place. I relaxed when I remembered that I was rescued not too long ago.
Or is it too long? I thought, as my gaze went towards the now bright sky.
Skimming my hand through my hairs, I looked over the clock on my side table.
11:40! That's too long. Wait when did I fell in the hole? It was somewhere between 5-6.
Damn! That is quite long. Beside the clock, was that pink diary of Rosa Dante.
Who was she?
And how does she know my birthdate?
Or It could be of someone else?
Yes, that could be it. But then what about the other dates?
I grabbed the diary and opened it gently. I re-read the pages trying to find a clue.
"There is literally nothing here." Whining, I stood up from the bed after throwing the book under the mattress.
After combing my hairs with the brush, I came out of the room and went straight towards the kitchen.
My nose took me towards the mouthwatering food settled on the table.
My eyes must be shinning with dollars after seeing the food. Meanwhile, my stomach made a rumbling sound.
No wonder, why I couldn't find a clue.
It was some weird dish but looks tasty. Gulping down the food quickly, I satisfied my stomach.
When I was full, I decided to find Mia. Best part is, I don't know where she stays.
Moving around the house, I came across 'A' twins room. Knocking, I pushed the door open to see Alessandro sprawled on the spinny chair of the study table, doing god knows what on his mobile.
"Alessandro?"
"Why are you here?" Ignoring his question, I continued.
"Where is Mia?" Disregarding my question, he continued.
"Why are you out of the bed?" Paying no attention to his question, I continued.
"Where is everyone?" Dodging my question, he continued.
"Why the fuck are you not resting?" I could have ignored him this time also, but then after catching his glare I decided to answer.
"I was bored and hungry and...bored." Shrugging, I sat down on his bed.
"Now answer my question, where is Mia and the others?" I continued before he could say anything.
"Mia is in her room and the others left to office." He said carelessly.
"Wait, I know Antonio and Leo goes to office but Matteo and the twins and your other half does not." I narrowed my eyes at him.
His fingers stilled for a second, but started doing their work for a second.
"I don't know about that. And stop with your questions. Did you take your medicines?"
"What medicines?" I raised brow at him.
"There were medicines kept on your side table." He said, while replying to someone furiously.
"There were? Wow, why did I not notice them?"
"Cause you're dumb!"
"And you're dumber!" I froze.
Alessandro froze.
"What did you say?"
"Oh, my medicines. I'll just take them. Silly me. Let me check if they are on my side table or not." After my small rant, I dashed back in my room.
Closing the door with a loud thud, I turned around and looked for the supposed medicines.
Three, half yellow and red colored tablets were kept on a small tray beside a glass of water.
Strange, how come I didn't see the tray kept beside the alarm clock and the diary before?
Shrugging, I gulped down the tablets without the water. After a mental breakdown about how I did it and how come I didn't die after it, I walked back towards Alessandro to ask him where Mia's room is.
Opening the door of his room, I peeked inside. "Sandro? Where is Mia's room?"
Without sparing me a glance, Alessandro, who is now sprawled over the couch told me to go to the third door to the left of the kitchen.
Muttering a thanks, I walked downstairs to the kitchen and then pull my hands infront of me to debate with my memory about which hand is left and right. After 10 minutes, when I was sure which one was left and was about to knock on the supposed third door, when I heard hushed whispers.
Not wanting to interfere in anyone's business, I knocked loudly on the door. After a shuffle, I heard a pained come in.
Peeking inside, I asked, "Can I come inside?"
Mia smiled at me and told me to come inside. "Hello, Alle. How are you? I heard what happened in the morning. Are you okay?"
"I'm okay, what about you? And I'm sorry. I didn't knew you were sick, I wouldn't have come to disturb you."
She smiled, "Oh, it's okay. I was going to come out either way."
I smiled, "Um, Alle? Have you taken the medicines kept on the side table of your bed?"
I nodded, "I did. What were those medicines are for?"
"Oh, something the doctor prescribed."
"Okay, but for how long I've to take them?" I asked her, glumly.
"Oh, you have to take them for few weeks. You know, it's for the best." I nodded.
There was a nagging feeling in the pits of my stomach, but I shook them off.
After bidding goodbye to her, I dashed for the my room and went inside the bathroom.
Emptying my guts out in the toilet, I felt light headed.
What's wrong with me? Am I dying?
Could be the medicines. They must be of high power that's why I feel light headed.
Supporting my weight on the mattress, I closed my eyes for a while.
And soon after that, I went into a deep slumber.
