Karna woke up in morning did his pooja and are his breakfast. He left for palace with his father. Both went to stable and Adhiratha took out his chariot while Karna was fixing a new Chariot for himself and Arjun. He went to carpenter and told him to make carriage according to his need. He has somewhat modified the carriage and asked it to be more wide and bulky for a good stability as he know most of the time Pandavas and Kunti travel together so he wanted page enough carriage to accommodate them but not so much that it couldn't be of use in battlefield. Carpenter told him that he will need three horses to run this Chariot and if Karna's wanted it to be faster then maybe four horses would be needed. He told karna to come in the afternoon till then the carriage will be completed but he has to choose the horses himself. Karna thanked the carpenter and went to stable to see the horses. He reached the stable but didn't like the horses there. He asked the stable in charge that wether any more horses are available which are more sturdier than these horses. The incharge has told him there are three such horses and they are triplets too but nobody has managed to subdue them so they are caged behind the stable. These three horses are so strong that each of them needed twenty soldier to manage to put them there. Karna aske him to point in the direction of cage.

Karna went towards the cage and saw three beautiful horses of white color in it. These horses were 6.5 feet. They have nice and well muscled body. They were not bound but instead just placed in the cage. Three of them were standing close. Feeling Karna's presence they turned around him and huffed. Karna saw these three are scared and angry. May be these were wild horses before who enjoyed their freedom but being caged they became angry. They are seemed to be protective of each other as they are standing quite close. He wanted to go and pat the horses but that might make horses to go after him. He withdraw from there for now and went to Hastinapur's market. He bought a veena with him and went back to stable. He asked the incharge to let him in the cage. The incharge denied as these horses seemed to attack even when weaponed soldier went to put their food in the cage. Karna reassured them, that he will be fine if not incharge didn't have to take any responsibility. The incharge opened the gates and Karna went inside with veena. The incharge expected the horses to attack Karna as soon as he entered but to his surprise the went to farthest corner of cage from where Karna was. Karna wanted to go in the middle of cage to play veena but seeing the horses reaction he stopped after few steps and sat down with his Veena

Incharge was looking him in awe. Even the horses were looking at him. They were wild horses before so they have spent quite of their time in jungle so they have developed a certain kind of instincts to guess wether the opponent was something they can deal with if they are they will attack if not they stayed away from it. Their instincts told them Karna was not someone they can deal with. So they back off and was looking at him cautiously. Karna didn't mind the eyes, he closed his own eyes and started plucking the strings of Veena. Soon a melody started to play and relaxed the mood of everybody present there. Even the hoses in the stable were enchanted by the music. Karna played it for 20 minutes, he opened his eyes and saw those three horses were not standing far but we're sitting surrounding him. He gently patted on their forehead and caressed their crest hair. The horses didn't refuse. He knew his job was done so he told incharge to open the gates. He stood up so did the horses then he left the cage with three hoses and Veena. He personally track upped the horses and feed them food and water.

In the after noon he came to carpenter and saw the carriage was ready. He thanked him and personally tied the carriage and horsed so his new Chariot was completed. It was a beautiful looking Chariot. It was of completely golden colour with black rims and edges. The horses white horses complemented the carriage and vice versa. There was Hastinapur's flag in the flag post of carriage. He took the carriage for round to see it's stability and other performance like speed, balance etc.

Karna returned to palace and heard about there was going to be a war soon. He wanted to ask what was happening but a soldier came and informed him Pandavas were asking for his presence. He left with soldier and went to chamber of Pandavas.

Karna : Pranipat Rajukumars.

Pandavas : Pranipat Shreeman Karna.

Arjun : Karna have you heard what is happening?

Karna : I only know that there is going to be some kind of war, I don't know the full story. I was busy in creating a chariot.

Bheem : Why are you creating a new one, the previous ones work just fine.

Karna : Oh! I thought since I became a chariot for myself to drive.

Yudhishthir : Ok, now we will tell you what happened in the sabha and why war is going to happen.

Sahdev then explained all that happened in the court. How Yudhishthir was going to be yuvraj but was stopped as they haven't fulfilled the gurudhkhsina. Dronacharya has asked revenge of his humiliation as gurudhkhsina. He told Dronacharya story to him. He has asked his students to capture king Drupad of Panchal. And bring him to his feet. Kauravas and Pandavas agreed to this. But Mamashree Shakuni proposed to make it competition between Kauravas and Pandavas to choose next yuvraj from Yudhishthir or Duryodhana. They have to leave for Panchal tomorrow morning. They told him everything but saw Karna frowning.

Arjun : Why are you frowning Karna, you aren't scared of war or are you?

Karna : No prince Arjun I am not scared of going to war.

Nakul : Then what is the reason behind your frown

Sahdev : Shreeman Karna must have sme opinions again.

Yudhishthir : You can tell us Karna what is bothering you.

Karna : Are you sure you want to listen. My words may hurt everyone here.

Bheem : You always have something to say to piss us of.

Arjun : Tell us we made you our confidant because of your truthful and questionable nature.

Karna : Fine I will not talk about competition as it is your family. But exactly how is winning this war can guage the capabilities of Prince Yudhishthir as yuvraj, valour and strength are only a part of yuvraj abilities. Being a Yuvraj needs governance and administrative abilities. Only when all these abilities are present in one person than he can become good Yuvraj.

Yudhishthir : I agree with you but these are complications of royals.

Karna (shrugs) : Maybe

Sahdev : This isn't the complete reason of you frowning.

Karna : Yes it's just a part of it. The main reason for my frowning is this war and reason behind it.

Arjun : I don't think reason behind this war is worth something to bother. It's our gurudhkhsina, it is our dharm to give it to gurudev.

Karna : But is this really Dharm.

Bheem (angry) : Karna, how dare you? You have second time questioned my gurudev. Do you have any problems with him.

Karna : Truth to be said I do have problem with him. But I don't held onto grudges. I am saying this out of any malicious intention.

They suddenly heard "What problem do you have with me." Pandavas turned around the door and saw Ashwatthama and Dronacharya there. They had their mouth open eyes wide but karna was just silently standing there was no surprise on his face. Dronacharya took Ashwatthama with him to give his blessings to both Pandavas and Kauravas. He first came to Pandavas and saw they were talking with young man, he wanted to interrupt but conversation between them interested him so he waited with Ashwatthama on the door. His students seemed unaware of his presence but he suspected the young man has felt his arrival seeing his lack of surprise he confirmed his guess. Ashwatthama was also listening the conversation he was shocked to see some commoner questioning the royals. He listened and very much agreed with young man but when he questioned the motive behind the war Ashwatthama wanted to intervene but he was beaten by his father.

Pandav : Pranipat Gurudev, Pranipat Ashwatthama.

Karna : Pranipat Dronacharya and Dronputr Ashwatthama.

Dronacharya : Kalyan ho.

Ashwatthama : Pranipat.

Dronacharya : Who are you, you didn't answer my questions what problem do you have with me.

Ashwatthama : Why are you questioning the motive behind the war.

Karna : I am Charioteer of Prince Arjun and confidant of All five princes. To answer your question guru drona, in my childhood I had came to you to gain knowledge but you rejected me on basis of cast so that is my problem with you.

Dronacharya : Yes I remember now, you are that kid. You came to me but I rejected you as suta doesn't have right to gain knowledge of weapons and vedas. You vowed to become best archer that day so that's why you held grudges against me.

Karna : I was heart broken sure but as I said earlier I don't held any grudges. You are not the only guru who has rejected me on basis of cast.

Dronacharya : I did nothing wrong then. You were born to serve royals and that's what are you doing. It's your destiny.

Others in the room became quiet hearing the conversation. Pandavas didn't knew there was such history behind Karna and Dronacharya. They remembered what their Pitamah told him about Karna.

Ashwatthama (seriously) : You didn't answer my question, Karna.

Karna (calmly) : I don't wish to make anyone angry or upset. I speak truth and it will hurt everyone present here.

Dronacharya (calmly) : You can answer the question, I am also curious if not bitterness then what is reason behind you questioning about my gurudhkhsina.

Karna (calmly) : Guru dron this war will cause life of many innocents soldiers. Don't you think their families will have to face the same situation as Your son and wife for whom you went to king Drupad to ask alms. If anything they will face worst situation because your family had you at least feed them but they will loose their husband, father and son. This war is to get your revenge from King Drupad, what have his army done to deserve death by following their King.

Dronacharya because stumped hearing that, Pandavas and Ashwatthama too became speechless. They knew what Karna saying was truth. But war wouldn't be won without harming or killing the army of Panchal. Dronacharya thought about for sometime.

Dronacharya : You statement do have merit, so I declare princes will only use killing soldiers as last resort. They can defeat them, make them unconscious but never kill them. I will go and inform Duryodhana and others of my decision. Lets go Ashwatthama.

Dronacharya and Ashwatthama left from there.

Arjun : We didn't know you have history with our gurudev. If you want I can teach you some basic of archery.

Karna : We have met yesterday there is lot of things we both didn't know about each other. Thank you for offer due to some circumstances I have decided to never lift weapons.

Pandavas decided to ask any more questions. It was Karna's matter and they don't want to nosy.

Yudhishthir : You have saved a lot of life today Karna.

Sahdev : You still didn't give the resin behind questioning the motive of war. You have only told your reasons to not like the war. You said our gurudhkhsina is not dharm why?

Hearing this others too remembered karna saying that. They too looked at Karna attentively to hear his reasons.

Karna : That is because I don't think it as Dharm.

Arjun (angrily) : What nonsense are you speaking Karna?

Bheem : How can you say that. Do you know anything about Gurudhkhsina. Leave, just leave from here before I kill you.

Nakul : You have truly crossed limits. Just leave from here or you have to face us brothers anger first.

Yudhishthir was silent. Karna was ready to turn around and leave. But Sahdev spoke.

Shadev : Wait brothers, I want to know why he said so?

Bheem : Sahdev what are saying he is sut how can he know about a students love, respect and devotion to wards his guru. May be this is the reason lower caste is not allowed to gain education. How can he know about Gurudhkhsina.

Karna smiled hearing this. His emotions churned but he controlled it. His hands were clenched tightly. Of he didn't decided to never lift weapons he would have killed Bheem right here in this second. But he controlled his anger and remain calm outwardly. He decided to never associate with Bheem or Nakul. He will give up his job and will go to his home right now after saying his opinion.

Yudhishthir : I also want to know. How can someone say Gurudhkhsina is adhram tell us Karna why have you said so.

Arjun : I also wanted to know, if your argument didn't have any concrete basis I vow in the name of my gurudev Dronacharya I will kill you myself right here.

Karna (calmly) : I have never said Gurudhkhsina is Adharm. What I said the reason Dronacharya aske you this gurudhkhsina is Adharm. Revenge is adhrm princes. Justice is dharm and your gurudev asked for revenge not justice. May be my father was too hopeful thinking you know and follow dharm. I am sorry for taking you time princes. Please kindly find others to be your confidant and Charioteer. Thank you for giving this lowly suta a chance.

Karna said and turned around to leave and saw Maharani Kunti, Bheeshma and Vidhur outside the chamber. He thought what with all the people coming here and listening their conversation.

Karna : Pranipat Mahamahim, Maharani and Mahamantri.

Elders : Kalyan ho.

Bheeshma : So you are leaving.

Karna : Yes Mahamahim, I don't want to serve the people who will Insult me regularly if I speak the truth. I am not ashamed of being a suta but proud of it. If you also think I am wrong than I have nothing to say. Pranipat.

Bheeshma : Wait Karna. I don't disagree with you.

Kunti : Yes Tatshree is right Karna, don't go. Forgive my son they didn't want to insult you. They love their guru immensely so that why they said that.

Karna : Maharani words are like arrow once released can never be taken back. I am a lowly suta I don't have right to forgive royals and too who are Devputra. Your two sons vowed to kill me for speaking truth which I don't even wanted to say. I have been always respectful towards them. They don't want me they want a yes man. Sorry I can't ever be that. It's better I leave here.

Vidhur : But Sahdev didn't say anything.

Karna : Pandavas are like five fingers of hand Mahamantri. They are always United and you can't expect a person to shake hands with one finger only.

Bheeshma : What about responsibilities Karna, o know adhiratha for long time, he would never forsake his responsibilities for insult. He personally asked you to be a Charioteer and that too of Pandavas, will you disappoint him too. Everyone in the palace knew you are Arjun's Charioteer. People will think Adhiratha's son ran away as soon as he heard that his chosen rathi decided to go in battle.

Karna was cornered by this. He knows his father would not say anything but will be disappointed. He can bear being insulted himself but he can never allow some to insult his parents that too because of him. He can never do that.

Karna : No, Mahamahim, my father's reputation will never be tainted that too because of me, it will never happen. You are right I can't disappoint my father for this reason. So be it I will be Charioteer of prince Arjun but nothing more than that. I am not someone to runaway from responsibility so I will dutifully complete what is expected of me. But just a Charioteer nothing more nothing less.

Bheeshma : I knew you would say this. I would inform Arjun about that.

Karna : Allow me to leave, Pranipat.

Karna left. Bheeshma, kunti. And Vidhur entered the room and saw Pandavas were just sitting there and digesting Karna's last words. Bheem and Nakul looked angry, while Yudhishthir and Arjun were thinking. Sahdev was just sad. They all saw them.

Pandavas : Pranipat.

Elders : Kalyan ho.

Bheeshma : What have you done, even after our warning you insulted him.

Kunti : Why have you all done that. He didn't said his opinion, you asked him to share it despite of his warning.

Bheem : Why are you all favouring that suta. He dare to ask questions about ou gurudev. I will never like him.

Nakul : he is just a coward, he must have been afraid of war and wanted to get out of it that why he said all this.

Arjun : He is no coward, Nakul. The person who can confront us without an ounce of fear in him can't be a coward.

Yudhishthir : What he said wasn't completely wrong either.

Sahdev : We have soured our relationship before it can be formed. He would surely never come back.

Arjun : I feel like I lost a capable Charioteer and true friend.

Bheeshma : Not everything is lost I have salvage as much I could. He will be Arjun's Charioteer but if you want to for bonds it will be upto you.

Sahdev : How did you do it Pitamah, the way he left it was clear that he didn't want to do anything with us.

Bheeshma : His love and respect for his parents isn't any less that what you have for your mother. Even in his childhood he introduced himself proudly as Radhey Karna. Leaving now would seem like running away from battle which will tarnish his father's reputation which he couldn't let happen. So he agreed to be Arjun's Charioteer.

Bheem : I don't want any thing to do with that suta. He questioned gurudev.

Kunti : Bheem!

Nakul : What wrin did brother Bheem said.

Bheeshma : If you don't want to form bod it's okay but be civil with him. I have stopped him now but don't expect it to happen second time from me.

Vidhur was silently listening to everything he didn't know why his Tatshree and Bhabhi was so he'll bent on a suta. But seeing the situation getting worse he decided to change topic.

Vidhur : Now is not the time to discuss about him but you all have to focus on up coming war. Shakuni will sure manipulate the situation in Pandavas favor.

Yudhishthir : Kakashree is right we should focus on giving our gurudhkhsina. Now it will be more difficult than before.
